MONTREAL (Jen 4) – As the world mourns the loss of Muhammad Ali, Samdi night’s Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) on ESPN and ESPN Deportes telecast began with aCeremonial 10-Countin memory of “Pi gwo a” and continued to pay tribute to him throughout the telecast that was headlined by a light heavyweight bout between hard-hitting Russian Olympian Artur Beterbiev against Argentina’s Ezequiel Maderna.
The 31-year-old Beterbiev (10-0, 10 Ko), who fights out of Montreal, returned to the ring after an almost year-long layoff following shoulder surgery. Now seven months removed from the procedure, Beterbiev looked sharp from the opening bell as he threw straight right hands and body shots effectively to start the fight.
Maderna, who was also coming off of a long layoff, was hoping to make a statement in his first fight on North American soil as he moved up in weight for this bout. Beterbiev utilized his power and precision to control the entire fight, but kicked it into high gear in the third round, sending the 29-year-old Maderna to the canvas with two right hands. He stood up, but soon after was sent to the canvas again. Fwa sa a,, spitting out his mouth piece to delay the bout causing Referee Marlon B. Wright to deduct a point.
At the start of round four, Maderna was dropped with a punishing right hand. He rose to his feet only find himself canvas agan, looking at his corner, they threw in the towel and the fight was stopped at 54 seconds of round four.
I am really satisfied by my performance,” said Beterbiev. “I want to thank my team for their patience during my inactivity.
My guy did really well after an absence of a year,” said Beterbiev’s trainer Marc Ramsay. “He is very special. In a short or medium period of time, we want to fight in a world championship.
The PBC on ESPN telecast, which is the first of seven between Jen 4 ak Out 12, opened with two welterweight southpaws facing off in hopes of maintaining their undefeated records. Sepandan, it didn’t take long for Florida’s Bryant Perrella (14-0, 13 Ko) to prove he was the better man as he scored a second round TKO over Washington, D.C.’s David GRAYTON (14-1, 10 Ko).
Grayton was more active at the beginning of the fight, working his right hand on the inside. Perrella used his longer reach and height difference to his advantage as he did his best to dictate the pace. Perrella knocked Grayton down in the beginning of the second round and became forceful with the right hand as Grayton left himself open to punishment. Finalman, Perrella threw a left that caused Grayton to stumble and referee David Griffin waved off the fight at 2:19.
He came in real tougha tough competitor,” Di Perrella. “I was the best man tonight. I caught him with some really hard shots, dazed him. I took my time, I listened to what my team said and got him out of there.
This is tremendous,” Perella continued. “This is what we’ve been wanting for a while to fight another undefeated prospect and get the recognition we feel we deserve. The welterweight division is filled with lions, tigers and bears, but I’m Tarzan baby. I’m the king of this jungle. I’m ready for whatever.
Also featured on the telecast was a six-round super welterweight contest between prospect Jamontay Clark (10-0, 6 Ko) of Cincinnati and Mexican warrior Edgar Ortega (16-6, 10 Ko). The game Ortega shocked the six-foot-two Clark in the first round, sending him to the canvas with a hard right hand. Clark regained his composure in between the first and second, controlling the fight from then on. Despite taking the fight with nine days’ avi, Ortega stayed with Clark all six rounds, even rolling his ankle in the fourth. After the final bell rung, Clark remained undefeated, registering a unanimous decision victory with the judges scoring the bout 58-55 ak 58-54 (de fwa).

Perrella to face Grayton June 4 sou ESPN

Fort Myers, FL (Me 11, 2016) – Welterweight sensation Bryant “Goodfella” Perrella will face his toughest foe to date when he challenges fellow unbeaten southpaw David “Day-Day” Grayton Samdi, Jen 4 nan Centre lan Bell nan Monreyal, Quebec, Kanada.

The Perrella-Grayton bout serves as the co-main event of a Premier Boxing Champions card televised on ESPN.

Living and fighting out of Fort Myers, FL, the heavy-handed Perrella has a stellar 13-0 chèk pwofesyonèl ki gen 12 ranport pa pentch. Against Grayton, the 6’0 Perrella fights on TV for a third consecutive time, previously halting both Chaquib Fadli and Ramon Ayala. Anvan yo fè sa, Perrella impressively stopped dangerous Patrick Boozer, ending a remarkable year and a half run where he took out three previously unbeaten fighters. Kòm yon amatè, Perrella competed in the 2012 US Olympic Trials where he defeated current rising star Regis Prograis before coming up short against Sammy Vasquez and eventual winner Errol Spence.

Hailing from talent-laden Washington, DC, Grayton is an excellent 14-0 and has ten kayos. Nan mwa Oktòb 2015, Grayton bested often-avoided Martin Wright over eight rounds. Fighting under the tutelage of George Peterson, who developed Paul Williams into one of boxing’s best fighters, Grayton had an excellent amateur pedigree of his own. Nan 2010, he defeated the aforementioned Spence to capture National Golden Gloves title and he also won bronze at the 2012 tounwa.

“I know he’s undefeated and is coming to fight but this is a big step up for him,” Perrella said of Grayton. “I expect him to try and drag me into a dog fight. Regardless of what he brings, I’m looking forward to come out on top with a great performance. I’ve fought the better opposition and have been asking for harder fights. I believe I’m an overall better fighter and on Jen 4 everybody will see that.”

Michael Nowling, Perrella’s head trainer, is very familiar Grayton and is equally as confident his fighter will emerge victorious.

“David Grayton is a strong and athletic southpaw that is coming to win. Kèlkeswa, he’s never fought anybody like Bryant Perrella. For some time now, I’ve wanted Bryant to step up and fight another prospect because I believe he’s better than a lot of guys out there. Against Grayton, our plan is to break him down and win in style. Doing so in a fight like this can set us apart from other prospects.”

The card is promoted by Groupe Yvon Michel (GYM) and is headlined by a bout featuring light heavyweight contender Artur Beterbiev against 2008 Argentinean Olympian Ezequiel Maderna.

Tickets will be available on Groupeyvonmichel.ca/eng/tickets.html shortly.

LAS VEGAS (Jan. 19, 2015) - De nwit apre yo te fin entène lopital apre pèt l 'yo envenku pwovokatè Deontay Wilder sou Chotim® soti nan la Mgm Grand Jaden Arena, former WBC Heavyweight Champion Bermane Stiverne, Hall nan rnome li pwomotè, Don wa, ak antrenè li, Don House, anime yon konferans pou laprès jodi a nan fen mwa mgm Grand a.

Li se malere, men Bermane ap gen fè li yon lòt jou. Lè ou konnen chanpyon nan nou gen nan Deontay te twò élokans deklare ke li pral pran sou okenn moun, Mwen sèten san yo pa nenpòt anbigwite li ta bay yon rematch ak Bermane a reyèl pase nonm sa a ki moun ki te andikape nan bag la, pa pran lwen genyen batay la li te gen ak wout la li klere.

"Nou fè lwanj Deontay ak espere ke li ka chanpyon lontan ase yo kote nou ka gen yon rematch nan 'Retounen nan nan tout bèl pouvwa.

"Jis renmen gwo militè nou, lè yo jwenn frape desann, yo jwenn tounen moute ankò. Menm ak Bermane grav dezidratasyon l 'toujou te kanpe la pou 12 jij.

"Nou vle remèsye Richard Sturm, Prezidan an mgm Grand amizman, ak Stephen Espinoza ak chotim boksè pou jwe yon gwo pati nan jwenn pwogram sa a ansanm. Nou bat bravo pou tou de anplwaye nou yo ak anplwaye a mgm pou fè yon travay louabl pou fè sa a rive.

BERMANE STIVERNE

"Mwen vle prezante eskiz pou pa fè konferans pou la près post-batay. Malerezman mwen pa t 'kapab fè nan batay la tankou mwen te vle akòz dezidratasyon grav ak domaj nan misk. Mwen pa t 'konnen li te ke grav jiskaske yo te di m'. Mwen te kapab te mouri nan li. Mwen kontan, m jis pou tèt mwen, walk and talk again. Thank God for this, sa ki nan vrèman sa ki enpòtan m 'yo dwe an sante kounye a.

"Mwen pa t 'konnen gravite a nan li Samdi lannwit. Mwen te kapab bay moun yo yon montre bon, 12 jij nan boksè. Si mwen te gen fè l 'ankò mwen ta fè l' ankò. Sa a se pa fen an pou m '. Mwen pral bay li yon semèn koup ak Lè sa a jwenn tounen nan travay. Mwen gen yon vizyon pou sa a, men kounye a li nan jis sou pran yon poz.

Mwen vle felisite l ', li t'ap goumen batay la byen. Èspere ke yon kote nan tan kap vini an nou pral rankontre ankò.

"Mèsi tout moun pou vini soti nan konferans pou la près, Se mwen menm ki tounen sou de pye m ' 100 pousan kounye a. Mwen jis bezwen yon koup la semèn oswa yon mwa nan rès yo dwe tounen kote mwen te kite. "

DON HOUSE, Stiverne’s Trainer

Men, Samdilannwit, nou te gen sou 15 percent of Bermane.

"Nou pral tounen gade dèyè, wè sa ki nou te fè sa ki mal, ki jan nou ka fè bagay sa yo pi bon, ki sa nou ta dwe fè. Nou pral pran yon gade nan ki jan ka dezidratasyon an te rive. Nou pral pran yon gade nan batay la ak kèk nan bagay sa yo nou te fè nan fòmasyon e chèche konnen kisa nou te fè sa ki mal. "

LAS VEGAS (Jan. 17, 2015) – Ak nouvo WBC lour Mondyal Champion la…

Amerik finalman gen chanpyon pwa loud mond li yo menm jan an Alabama Deontay Wilder dechu chanpyon defann Bermane Stiverne via desizyon inanim (118-109, 119-108, 120-107) Samdi sou Chotim® soti nan la Mgm Grand Jaden Arena nan Las Vegas.

Wilder (33-0, 32 Ko), ki pa janm te goumen sot pase wonn nan katriyèm ak te frape soti tout 32 nan opozan pwofesyonèl l ', boxed brilliantly behind a stellar jab to become the first U.S.-born heavyweight champion in nearly a decade. The towering 6-foot-7 Tuscaloosa native capitalized on his reach advantage, kou toujou yo mete kanpe yon dwa pwisan dwat.

Batay sou Hall nan Famer Muhammad Ali a 73rd anivèsè nesans, Wilder te vin premye undefeated Ameriken chanpyon an pwa loud depi Riddick Bowe nan 1992 ak premye chanpyon nan Ameriken depi Shannon Briggs te genyen kouwòn lan nan 2006.

“Mwen jis kontan ak kè kontan yo pote senti sa a tounen nan Amerik,” Wilder said. “Li nan ale nan vle di yon anpil. I think I answered a lot of questions tonight. We knew we could go 12 jij. We knew we could take a punch. We knew we could do it.

Tit nan premye batay la chanpyona pwa loud nan mgm Grand depi trist Mike Tyson-Evander Olifil mòde an zòrèy nan 1997, te gen kesyon nan boksè inisye si Wilder, ki moun ki te janm te se vre wi: fè tès, t 'kapab manyen pouvwa a nan yon pwa loud vre ak dènye nan jij yo pita. But Wilder answered those questions with a disciplined game plan, aterisaj plis pase double pwenson yo manm ak voye 420 jabs Stiverne a 139.

When I saw he could take a great punch we knew we were in for the long run. Twelve rounds is nothing. I want to bring excitement back to the heavyweight division. Whoever is ready, Mwen pare.”

Stiverne (24-2-1, 21 Ko) te kapab repati Wilder ak yon vaksen kèk, but he did not throw enough jabs or cut off the ring effectively. Wilder was allowed to circle the ring and pop his jab at will. Stiverne landed just 39 jabs konpare ak Wilder a 120.

“Li pa t 'lannwit m',” Stiverne said. “Mwen te santi m 100 pousan anvan batay la men yon fwa mwen te resevwa nan bag an mwen pa t 'kapab koupe bag la, I couldn’t move my head like I usually do. Kisa m ka di? Congrats to him.

I knew I was trying to throw combos of four or five punches and I could only throw two of them. I just felt like I was flat in the ring. What I know I could do I didn’t do. I just have to go back and learn from my mistakes and find out what happened tonight.

WBC Super bantamweight Mondyal Champion Leo Santa Cruz defann kouwòn l 'pou tan katriyèm lan ak yon TKO wityèm-wonn nan Jezi Ruiz ak Épilogue rele chanpyon parèy Abnè Mares ak Guillermo Rigondeaux nan ko-karakteristik la nan chotim chanpyona boksè.

Jij yo byen bonè te fèmen epi konpetitif ak Ruiz, yon pèrdan lou, seemed to be a tougher test than he looked on paper. But it was clear that Santa Cruz was landing the cleaner shaper punches. The former bantamweight world champion landed some meaningful shots and had Ruiz in trouble in the seventh and, la pou premye fwa, li te parèt ke li te kapab fini Ruiz.

Santa Cruz (29-0-1, 17 Ko) soti tou limen an nan wityèm lan, landed a big right cross to kick off the round and continued to tee-off on the challenger. In trouble against the ropes and not fighting back, abit Kenny Bayless vole nan ak sispann bout la ak Ruiz (32-6-5, 21 Ko) toujou sou de pye l 'nan :29 of the eighth round. The champion landed 43 pousan nan pwenson manm l ', li prèske 50 pousan nan pwenson pouvwa li, pandan y ap ateri yon bèl 73 vaksen pouvwa nan kò a.

“Tankou mwen espere, li te yon lagè,” Santa Cruz said. “He came prepared. We hurt him and we didn’t let the chance go away. We kept going after him and we stopped him. I hurt him with the right hand. I knew he was hurt so I went after him. I knew Kenny Bayless would stop it because he wasn’t throwing punches.

I want the best and I want to please the fans. Mwen vle (Abnè) Manman, Mwen vle (Bill) Rigondeaux. Èspere ke batay pwochen nou an, se kont youn nan pi bon an.”

“Mwen pa santi yo ta dwe gen sispann batay la, but I have to accept it. But I’m fine. Gade mwen – Mwen pa koupe. Li pa t 'menm lage m'.”

Lè sa a,, nan yon kandida bonè pou Round pou Ane a ki te genyen twa knockdowns, Maldonado reponn pa frape pi rèd toujou desann iman la pou premye fwa nan karyè li 30 seconds into the third with a solid straight left. Imam bounced back and sent Maldonado to the canvas with a huge right with 20 segonn kite nan twazyèm lan ak Lè sa a ankò ak yon dwa tou dwat kòm yon pati nan yon atak visye ki gen mwens pase 10 segonn kite nan wonn nan.

Aksyon an ap kontinye ak iman (16-0, 14 Ko) floored Maldonado for the fourth time in the fight with a short right followed by a left hook just seconds before the bell to close the fifth. Maldonado (19-3, 16 Ko) leve men li te tranble ak abit Robert Byrd te kanpe totalman konpetisyon an nan 2:59. Imam’s power was the difference, aterisaj 50 pousan nan vaksen pouvwa li.

“Se te yon knockdown difisil, men chanpyon jwenn leve, li fini batay la difisil ak sa a, se sa mwen te fè,” Iman di. “I just had to stay composed and do what I had to do. “I started timing him. When I hit him with that good shot he was out. I could see it. That was the rope-a-dope. I was swinging for the fences and that was it, ti bebe.

I’m ready for the title shot right now. I just want to fight for the title.

Apre batay la, Maldonado admèt ke li tou senpleman echwe pou pou pwoteje tèt li lè jij yo te likidasyon desann.

“Mwen jis te enplike ak yon koup nan pwenson,” Maldonado said. “Li te kenbe serenite l ', li li te vin soti ak W la. I just got caught. I got lazy in there and he capitalized. He was the better man tonight. I got kind of bored at the end of the rounds and I paid for it.

Nan evènman an prensipal nan chotim boksè sou SHO EXTREME, undefeated limyè pwa loud ProspectVyacheslav Shabranskyy (12-0, 10 Ko) kenbe dosye pafè li entak ak yon byen konvenk TKO viktwa nan Garrett Wilson (13-9-1, 7 Ko).

Shabranskyy kenbe distans li e li te trè efikas; aterisaj 48 pousan nan piki pouvwa li, yo jete plis pase 60 punches in each round. The Ukrainian prospect scored a knockdown with a right in the closing seconds of the second and another with a clean right in the final 10 segonn nan wityèm lan, sending Wilson face first to the canvas. Wilson beat the count but was saved by the bell as Shabranskyy unloaded more than a dozen consecutive punches.

Wilson nan dirab te pran yon bat fòmidab nan nevyèm lan ak w pèdi pa t 'peyi yon kout pyen, fòse abit Jay Nady yo sispann bout la apre nevyèm lan sou sijesyon nan doktè a rinsid.
