By the end of the night, I will still be the undefeated Danny ‘Swift’ Garcia. To all of the fans that love me, I love you too. This is for you.

Although I have a ton of respect for Danny and his father Angel, both for what they’ve accomplished in the ring as well as the bond they share as father/son, I, like them, am a competitor through and through and in this sport it’s all about testing yourself against the elite. So I look forward to defending my home turf of Brooklyn and matching my skills against Danny’s at Barclays Center on Lub yim hli ntuj 1.”

Lub yim hli ntuj 1 will mark Danny Garcia’s first fight as a true welterweight,” said Lou DiBella, President of DiBella Entertainment. “It’ll take place at Barclays Center, in the backyard of Brooklyn’s Paulie Malignaggi. This high quality PBC matchup on ESPN is a must-win situation for both fighters.

We are excited to host a third outstanding Premier Boxing Champions event and our first ESPN fight in Brooklyn,” said Barclays Center CEO Brett Yormark. “Danny Garcia always puts on a great show and there’s no bigger fan favorite in Brooklyn than Paulie Malignaggi. With this fight, we are continuing to establish Barclays Center as the premier boxing venue in the country.

This classic Philly versus New York match-up featuring two of boxing’s biggest stars is exactly why ESPN is televising Premier Boxing Champions,” said Brian Kweder, senior director of programming and acquisitions at ESPN. “Danny Garcia has laid waste to the junior welterweight division and instead of easing his way into the welterweight division, he’s fighting a former world champion in Paulie Malignaggi.

ERISLANDY LARA WINS UNANIMOUS DECISION AGAINST DELVIN RODRIGUEZ

ARTUR BETERBIEV SCORES SEVENTH ROUND

KNOCKOUT OVER ALEXANDER JOHNSON

Nyem qhov OS Rau cov duab hauv Lucas Noonan/Premier Boxing Champions

CHICAGO (Rau hli ntuj 13, 2015) – Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) rau Spike returned to Chicago’s UIC Pavilion on Friday night with another installment of spectacular fights. The opening televised bout saw Artur Beterbiev (9-0, 9 KOs) manage a seventh round knockout against Alexander Johnson (16-3, 7 KOs). The second televised bout featured Erislandy Lara (21-2-2, 12 KOs) as he secured a unanimous decision victory over Delvin Rodriguez (28-8-4, 16 KOs).

Below are comments made by the televised fighters following their performances hmo no:

ERISLANDY LARA

Thanks to my whole team and to Delvin for being a great competitor. Thank you Al Haymon.

This was a great performance hmo no. I was able to land my left. Delvin was really just trying to survive in there, so I knew what I was doing was working.

I was trying to bait him to come in, but it wasn’t working. So I had to get aggressive in there.

It’s never a comfortable feeling leaving it up to the judges. I’d like to win every round and get the knockout if possible, but at least I got the win hmo no.

I’m going to sit down with my team and Al (Haymon). The future is clear. We want the best. We want Floyd Mayweather. We want Miguel Cotto. We want Gennady Golovkin at 160 lbs.”

DELVIN RODRIGUEZ

It was very uncomfortable in there for me hmo no. He was sharp and giving me lots of weird angles to work with.

He was always looking to land his left. He caught me once to the body though and that took three or four rounds to shake off.

I think PBC is great for the sport. They’re taking boxing to a whole new level. Some of the things they do are really going to catch on with the fans. Keeping the focus on the fighters is a big part of that.

It’s hard to say what’s next right now. There are still some great fights for me. Just because I lost to a skilled, technical fighter like Lara doesn’t mean there aren’t great fights left for me.

ARTUR BETERBIEV

This is a big plus for me and great experience for my pro career. I’m very happy to have gone past four rounds hmo no.

Nothing was really working that well for me hmo no though. I like to box smart and find the right openings. Maybe the righty to lefty switch in the last week made a difference.

I’m very happy and proud to have been part of another PBC card and to have had a fight here in the United States. The last time I was in Chicago was back in 2007 in the same venue. So it felt great to be back.

I’m a boxer, but I don’t like to call people out and insult them. I can’t predict the future, but I’ll work hard to make my winning streak even better than this one. I want the biggest belt that I can get. That’s my goal.

ALEXANDER JOHNSON

Short notice doesn’t matter because it’s part of the game to always be prepared. I have no excuses. He was the better man hmo no.

He got in one rabbit punch behind the ear that affected me more than some of the other shots, but overall he was just the better fighter hmo no.

I think PBC is great for the sport of boxing. I can’t take anything away from them and I’m just grateful for the opportunity to fight on their card hmo no.

I’m heading back to the gym and I’ll discuss what comes next with my family.

Tickets are also available at www.ticketmaster.com or by visiting the UIC Pavilion Box Office (Hnub plaub los sis Hnub vas Xuv 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.).

Here is what the press conference participants had to say Wednesday:

ERISLANDY LARA

I want to thank the fans here in Chicago. This is a great opportunity to show my skills on national television on Spike.

I’ve been eager to get back in the ring after my first title defense and Delvin Rodriguez is a worthy opponent.

I’m going to be electrifying on fight night and the fans are going to see a spectacular performance from me.

DELVIN RODRIGUEZ

I’m very excited for this fight. We had a great training camp. We’ve been going for about three months, and I really think this is one of the best camps I’ve ever had.

Everything has fallen into place this time around. As a fighter, you always feel like there may have been something missing. For this fight we had enough time to prepare.

I’m taking this fight as if it’s my last opportunity. That’s how I’m going to fight this fight. That’s how I’ve programmed my mind for this fight, as if my back is against the wall. This is my last chance at a world title.

I’m facing a great boxer. He’s a very technical fighter and he has great skills. And that helps motivate me even more. It made me work so much harder for this fight.

I’ve been reading a lot about what the media is saying about this fight. I promise the fans that whatever I have to do, this is going to be an exciting fight. It has to be an exciting fight for Delvin Rodriguez because this is my last chance.

ARTUR BETERBIEV

I’m very glad to be here in Chicago for this fight. I’m ready for anything in the ring.

If my opponent is going to call himself Alexander ‘The GreatJohnson, then I’ll be ‘King Arthurand I’m here to win. Even though I make that joke I am here to win and that is the truth.

We couldn’t do too much research on the new opponent, but we’ve looked through a couple of videos so we know the opponent is a southpaw and we’re ready for that.

I don’t like to underestimate my opponents and I prepare for everybody the same. I’ll be ready to go against him.

My last fight against Gabriel Campillo was against a southpaw, so it’s something I’m used to and I believe I have the knowledge so that it won’t be a problem.

ALEXANDER JOHNSON

I’m not a big talker. Hnub vas Xuv we’ll see, but I think he (Beterbiev) is all hype.

I’m willing to fight anybody any time anywhere. This is just another stepping-stone for my legacy.

I was not aware of him before I took the fight, but I have fought big punchers before and my chin is strong. I will have no problem with his power.

I come to win, no matter what day it is, what time it is, no matter what place it is; I always come to win. I’m always ready to fight. This is a boxer’s life.

ARTUR SZPILKA

I know that Manuel Quezada is a tougher fighter than the guy I fought last time in Chicago, but I’m so much better than I was then.

My Polish fans always help me. When I fought Mike Mollo, and I went down, I heard them screaming my name; I know that I can’t disappoint them. I will always give them my best.

Of course I want to knock Quezada out, and hopefully it will be seen on Spike.

I want to be a bigger part of Premier Boxing Champions, but the most important thing I can do is what my trainer Ronnie Shields wants me to do in order to win.

Here are what the press conference participants had to say Hnub peb:

ADRIEN BRONER

I’m very blessed to be here. I’ve been through some things that would say I shouldn’t have been here today, but now I’m one of the biggest names in boxing.

This is a big fight because Adrien Broner is on the card. No disrespect to Shawn and Kenny, but I’m coming to win and I’m going to win.

Even if it’s a hard fight, I’m going to win this fight. They say he’s strong, they say he comes like a bulldozer. Whatever they bring to the table on Rau hli ntuj 20, I’m ready.

I’m going to be the most powerful fighter on June 20th and definitely the prettiest fighter onRau hli ntuj 20. Don’t blink or you’ll miss it.

SHAWN PORTER

I’m the strongest fighter that Adrien Broner will ever get into the ring with.

I know he’s got more fights as a professional than me but that doesn’t mean he’s got more experience than me. We do all our fighting in the gym, prior to the fight.

I’m still the same ‘Showtime’ Shawn Porter, I still have everything that I need to be great and come out victorious. Not being relevant after this fight is not an option.

Our first mindset isn’t going to be to bully him, but to outbox him and use our speed. I’m going to be better than I ever have.

I’ve learned a lot about how to not be held and how to get guys off of you. That’s part of the process and it will be important in this fight.

Everything has been going really smoothly and I’ve been strong this entire camp. It’s been great and it’s what you need going into a fight.

I haven’t looked at this as a catch weight, but as a weight class. My weight class is 144. Anything that he expects to gain from having me come down to 144, he’s not going to get it.

PBC has been a blessing for these fighters and boxing in general. With all the fights on television it’s just an honor to be a part of. There’s no clearer opportunity than now, on network television to show what I got.

MIKE STAFFORD, Broner’s Trainer

These guys know each other from the amateurs. It’s Ohio, so we are familiar with each other. I’m glad that they took the fight, I love Shawn, I love Kenny, but it’s business and we are here to win.

KEN PORTER, Porter’s Father & Trainer

This is the stage we all want to be on, the pinnacle of the sport. We have two elite fighters up here and I expect they will put on a performance that will be memorable throughout the summer and throughout the rest of the year.

LEONARD ELLERBE, CEO of Mayweather Promotions

With the two styles of Adrien Broner and Shawn Porter you can’t expect anything but a great fight.

This is a tremendous platform for Mayweather Promotions. We’ve promoted the biggest fights in the history of the sport. It’s a great feeling to be part of the PBC family.

To step right on in and promote one of the biggest names of the sport in Adrien Broner, we’re expecting a great turnout and great ratings so fans across the country should make sure to tune-in.

Here is what the fighters had to say about Saturday afternoon’s fights:

ROBERT GUERRERO

Aron Martinez came to fight and the fans got to see two warriors go at it.

I can’t explain why I go to war so much. I just love to get in there and mix it up.

When I got up off the canvas, I told myselfget up and win this fight.

Once I started boxing I felt I started dominating the fight.

We got the victory and now it’s time to move on to some big fights and give the fans the warrior type fights they deserve. I’m an action fighter and I’ll continue to be so.

There is something about this arena that makes you want to stand there and trade.

I just suffered the loss of my cousin. She passed away last week and this fight was for her.

ARON MARTINEZ

I’m very happy with my performance. I thought I won the fight.

I thought the third scorecard was way out of line.

It was a great experience fighting on NBC. I wanted to put on a great fight for the fans and me and Robert did that.

I look forward to being more active and fighting again as soon as possible.

DOMINIC BREAZEALE

Its always a little different to fight in the afternoon. The fans came out to support me. I put on a big show and got the win.

He was putting his hand on his right side and I was hitting him with the upper cut.

I couldn’t ask for anything better.

I’d love to be back in the ring as soon as possible. Everybody did a great job putting this together. This was only three rounds right here and lets do it again in a couple months.

JESUS CUELLAR

I wasn’t hurt. It was more of a slip. Darchinyan is a very tough warrior and I’m glad I came out on top.

I want to fight again as soon as possible. I saw Abner Mares sitting in the first row and I want to fight him next.

ALFREDO ANGULO

I have so many fans and I want to thank them. They are here cheering for mecheering for the dog. I always say it’s for the fans and I want to thank them for the support.

This is my first fight coming back to my old trainer [Clemente Medina] and it was great.

A lot of people say ‘the dog is dead,’ but if you ask the people that saw my performance, they will all tell you the dog is alive and well.
