“When they asked me if I was available to come to the Houston Food Bank to volunteer, I didn’t even hesitate. I was in. No matter how busy I am with training camp, I always have time to help for a good cause.

 

“Houston has suffered with Hurricane Harvey. I’ve seen the devastation. Coming to the Food Bank with my wife today is my little grain of sand to help a bigger cause. I come from Cuba, an island that it’s often battered by storms. I’ve seen people lose a lot to Mother Nature. I feel for them.

 

“I don’t think my preparation for this fight has been affected by what happened here in Houston [Hurricane Harvey]. I have endured so much in my life. I had to escape from my homeland to pursue my dream of becoming a professional boxer. I defied the odds and I became a world champion. I got here with hard work and discipline. I’m focused. Nothing distracts me.

“Errol Spence Jr. is the perfect sparring partner. He’s been one of the best sparring partners that I’ve had even when I’m fighting right-handers because of his dominance. He’s very strong, he’s fast and he’s punching.

 

“I’ve got Houston on my back right now – me and my twin brother. If there were more fighters in Houston, we would be a bigger team. We do what we can to try to get boxing back into this city.

Rodriguez mad his pro debut in April with a dominant decision victory over Brian True and followed it up knockout of Jose David Mosquera in July and a TKO against Race Sawyer in September.
An accomplished amateur representing Kaunas, လစ်သူရေးနီး, Stanionis is looking to become the next Eastern European fighter to make a splash in the U.S. The 23-year-old had a 141-19 record as an amateur and earned four senior national championships before winning gold at the European Olympic Qualifier to earn his trip to the 2016 Games. A gold medalist at welterweight at the 2015 European Amateur Boxing Championships, Stanionis has impressed with knockouts in his first three starts since turning pro in April, including a first round destruction of Oscar Valenzuela in September.

He lost a narrow decision to unified welterweight champion Keith Thurman in a 2016 Fight of the Year candidate in Brooklyn, and scored a TKO victory against former welterweight champion Andre Berto in his last fight on ဧပြီလ 22 in front of the Barclays Center faithful.

The 28-year-old Sergey Lipinets (12-0, 10 KOs) is a former kickboxer from Russia who has been waiting nearly a year for his opportunity to fight for a world championship. Lipinets has only been the distance twice in his pro career and he earned his title shot with an eighth-round knockout of Lenny Zappavigna in a title eliminator last December. သူ့ရဲ့မကြာသေးခင်ကစတင်ခုနှစ်တွင်, Lipinets stopped Clarence Booth via third-round TKO in March at Barclays Center.
