Birthday Boy Petr Petrov finishing up training camp in Madrid, Spania

Madrid Spain (Martie 28, 2017)–WBO Lightweight world title challenger Petr Petrov arrived in his hometown of Madrid, Spain to finish up preparations for his April 8th world title bout with undefeated world champion Terry Flanagan at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, Anglia.
Petrov arrived Duminică, and has been hard at work with head trainer Danny Zamora. To prove that Petrov is clearly only focused on winning this world title,, he put in two hard workout’s marti, which just happens to be his 34th birthday.
“I am so focused and I can’t wait for this fight,” Said Petrov. “There is no time for parties and cake now. That will come after the fight, as I will have plenty of reasons to celebrate, one would be my birthday and the other will be for winning the world championship.”
Petrov will continue to train in his homeland until he leaves for Manchester early next week. Petrov finished up the California leg of his training camp this past Vineri before leaving for Madrid.

Petr Petrov earns mandatory WBA lightweight title shot with stoppage over Michael Perez

Indio, CA (Octombrie 3, 2016) – Petr Petrov (38-4-2, 19 Lui KO) earned a mandatory world title shot at the WBA Lightweight title with a stoppage after 6 rounds over Michael Perez in a scheduled 12 round bout at the Fantasy Springs Casino Resort in Indio, California.
In round 2, Perez was bloodied over his right eye, and Petrov was cut on his forehead. Later in the round, Petrov dropped Perez with a hard right to the head. Petrov continued the assault as he battered and hurt Perez with evenly dispersed punches to the head and body. As the blood continued over Perez’s right eye, Petrov never let up.

“I just want to thank everybody who made this win possible. My wife Carolina, My family back home in Spain and Russia. This victory is what I have been working for to be so close to a world title shot. LOS ANGELES (Septembrie 21, 2016) – NABA Lightweight champion Peter “Zar” Petrov (37-4-2, 18 Lui KO) of Ryazan, Russia and WBA Number 3 rated Lightweight contender, Michael “The Artist” Perez (24-1-2, 11 KO) Newark, NJ. hosted a media workout in Los Angeles today, ahead of their battle for the WBA Lightweight World Title Eliminator on Septembrie 30 at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino and broadcast live nationally on Estrella TV’s Boxeo Estelar. Also in attendance were televised fighters Alexis Rocha (4-0, 3 KO) of Santa Ana, Calif. and co-main event, Genaro “El Conde” Gamez (2-0, 2 KO) de San Diego. East Los Angeles’ Jonathan “Tunet” Navarro (6-0, 5 KO) who is scheduled for a six-round super lightweight fight against Larry Carrillo (5-1, 2 KO) din Houston, Texas was also onsite.

LOS ANGELES (August 19, 2016) – NABA Lightweight Champion Peter “Zar” Petrov (37-4-2, 17 KO) of Ryazan, Russia will face off with Michael “The Artist” Perez (24-1-2, 11 KO) for the WBA Lightweight World Title Eliminator on Septembrie 30. The new 12-round main event, which is set to replace formerly announced headliner Andrew “El Chango” Cancio who is now fighting against Joseph “Jojo” Diaz, Jr. on the Canelo vs. Smith pay-per-view undercard on Septembrie 17, will kick off the fall season of fights at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino and broadcast live nationally on Estrella TV’s Boxeo Estelar.

Philadelphia, PA / Orange, CA. (Iulie 26, 2016)–Promoții Banner și Thompson Boxing Promotions are pleased to announce the signing of amateur standout Ruben Villato a co-promotional contract.
The 19 year-old Villa of Salinas, California compiled an outstanding record of 166-17 in the unpaid ranks that included two National Junior Golden Gloves titles and two National Golden Gloves championships at 123 de lire sterline.
Ruben did not make the U.S. Olympic team due to his struggles to make 123 pounds in the Olympic Trials. He will campaign as a professional in the featherweight division (126 lbs).

That spawned his amateur career, which saw him reach the number-1 national ranking at 123 pounds and saw him defeat eventual United States Olympian Shakur Stevenson.
“He is a good fighter, and I hope he wins a medal and at some point we can break the tie in our fights against each other. I see that as a big fight down the line in the pros.”
Villa defeated Stevenson in the National Golden Gloves and Olympic Trials.
The 5’6″ Villa is managed and trained by Danny Zamora. Zamora performs the same roles with world-ranked NABA, NEIGHBOR, NABF and Boxicino 2014 lightweight champion Petr Petrov.
Villa describes his style as a boxer who uses angles and does not get hit much.
“My boxing influences are a bit of Vasyl Lomachenko and Canelo Alavrez.”
Ruben’s family and friends are not only a big part of his life, but also part of his success.
“My parents started me in boxing, and they have been extremely supportive in this. I also have 4 sisters (Ruben is the 2nd oldest of the 5 copii), and they are very supportive as well. “
Villa has sparred with Petrov, Bruno Escalante and Manuel Avilla, and that has given him a good gage on where he is at as he embarks on his career.
“I do well with those guys. I can hold my own, and those guys are great professionals. It gives me confidence as I start out.”

Santa Fe Springs, CA–NABA Lightweight champion Petr Petrov (36-4-2, 17 Lui KO) has been training hard for his big showdown with NABF Lightweight champion Marvin Quintero (28-6, 24 Lui KO) that will take place on Vineri, Mai 6 la The Toshiba Plaza, adjacent to the state-of-the-art T-Mobile Arena. Los Angeles, CA (Martie 31, 2015)– Semimijlocie Undefeated Taras “Real Deal” Shelestyuk (11-0, 8 Lui KO) se pregateste pentru său 03 aprilie debut postul național de televiziune, când el ia pe Juan Rodriguez Jr. în co-caracteristica a unui ESPN vineri noaptea Luptele de carte în Corona, California.
