New England Tournament of Champions 70th annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship

NOVICE CLASS FINALS RESULTS FROM LOWELL
LOWELL, Masa. (Februāris 19, 2016) – Fourteen 2016 New England Tournament of Champions winners were crowned last night in the novice class of 70th annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
Team Central produced the most individual winners with seven, followed by Team Western with five, and Team Central had two.
The unofficial fight of the night was between Salem, MA welterweight Kenny Larson (Team Central) and his Dorchester, MA opponent Jarrod LoMax (Team Southern), in which Larson won a three-round decision, 3-2.
Portland, ME bantamweight Christian Morales (Team Northern) continued his performance run in the tournament, winning a three-round decision, 5-0, over hometown Lowell favorite Marquis Fowler (Team Central) Morales’ impressive showings in the tournament will lead him into an open division spot in next week’s New Englands.
In a Central N.E. (Lielāka Lowell) heavyweight final rematch, due to a round-time issue, Methuen’s Jesus Flores (Canal Street Bokss) defeated Haverhill’s John Roche (Haverhill Downtown Bokss) by the same score as their original match in another thrilling, back-and-forth bout ending a in three-round decision (5-0). The crosstown rivalry between the two gyms and boxers led up to another compelling match with Flores qualifying for Trešdiena night’s open class semifinals of the New England Tournament of Champions.
The New England Tournament of Champions open class semifinals and finals will be held next Wednesday un Ceturtdienaevenings, attiecīgi, pie Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
The Outstanding New England Boxer in the novice class will be presented to the winner šajā trešdienā night at the N.E. open semifinals.

LOWELL, Masa. (Februāris 11, 2016) – Team Central had the edge in last night’s novice class semifinals of the New England Tournament of Champions, part of the 70th annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship, at Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
Team Central had five individual winners, followed by Team South and Team West with three victories and Team North had two. The novice class finals of the N.E. Tournament of Champions will be held Ceturtdiena, Februāris. 18 pie Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
The Fight of the Night was the light heavyweight match of the novice class as Team South’s Henry Ventura (N. Dārtmuta, MA) overcame two knockdowns to defeat Team North’s Tyler Jacques (St. Albans, VT) who was dropped once and also had a standing eight count, by way of a unanimous decision (5-0).
Three remaining Central New England (Lielāka Lowell) open class final matches were also held last night. See all results below, as well as the remaining 2016 grafiks.

LOWELL, Masa. (Februāris 5, 2016) – Peter Welch’s Gym in South Boston dominated last night’s Central New England (Lielāka Lowell) championship final round of the 70th annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship, open and novice classes, at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
Peter Welch’s Gym had seven winners last night: open – Hyde Park welterweight Jennifer Perella and Brookline light welterweight Ābrahams Nova; iesācējs – Dorchester lightweightJonathen DePina un middleweight Brian Lawrence, East Boston lightweight Claire Duffy light welterweight, Boston light welterweight Katie Gregory and Franklin heavyweight Jared Gately.
Lowell West End Gym and Grealish Boston had the second-most winners last evening with two apiece.
Last night, 15 matches went the distance, including several upsets, along with one technical knockout and a two walkovers.
All CNE finals winners qualified to compete in the upcoming New England Tournament of Champions, also held at Lowell Memorial Auditorium, sākot nākamo ceturtdien night with the semifinals of the novice division.

LOWELL, Masa. (Februāris 2, 2016) – Thirty-eight surviving amateur boxers will compete in 19 scheduled matches this Thursday night (Februāris. 4) the Central New England (Lielāka Lowell) final round, open and novice divisions, of the 70th annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
All CNE finals winners will advance to the New England Tournament of Champions, also held at Lowell Memorial Auditorium, later this month.

Returning New England Golden Gloves Champion Xavier Vega in action this Thursday night at Central N.E. semifinals in Lowell

LOWELL, Masa. (Janvāris 25, 2016) – Returning New England Golden Gloves welterweight champion Xavier Vega, Lawrence (MA), leads a host of talented open and novice class amateur boxers into this Thursday night’s (Jan. 8) in the Central New England (Lielāka Lowell) semifinals of the 70th annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
The 21-year-old Vega, representing Canal Street Boxing, faces Nashua (NH) Challenger Michael Fontanez in one of eight open class matches. There are also eight novice class matches scheduled.
Vega, who has a 33-3 amatieru rekords, didn’t start boxing until he was 17 because he has only one kidney. A construction worker by day, Vega hopes to become a professional boxer and, ja ne, a Lawrence police officer in order to give back to his community.

A novice super heavyweight showdown between heavy hitters Ryan Brooks, of Weymouth (MA), and Boston’s Christian Ortiz. One of the most exciting boxers in action šo ceturtdien evening is novice light welterweight Edwin Rozon, of Haverhill (MA). Arlington’s novice middleweight Peter Maher, representing the Somerville Boxing Club, is a promising prospect.

LOWELL, Masa. (Janvāris 23, 2016) – The Central New England (Lielāka Lowell) quarterfinals round of the 70th annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship was held last night at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium with 13 highly competitive matches in the novice class.
Viss 13 matches went the three-round distance for 39 rounds of action that the large crowed enjoyed from start to finish. The super heavyweight match between Dorchester’s 381-pound Ivens Derival and Haverhill’s 266-pound Kyle Davis was of special especially because of their respective sizes. Davis won by way of a three-round decision, 4-1, in a back-and-forth match that had fans standing throughout.
The CNE semifinals, featuring open and novice class matches, will be heldnākamo ceturtdien nakts (Jan. 28) pie Lowell Memorial Auditorium. Skatiet pilns 2016 schedule below as well as last night’s results.

LOWELL, Masa. (Janvāris 9, 2016) – The 70th annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship kicked-off last night at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium as Central New England (Lielāka Lowell) preliminary-round action featured 12 exciting men’s novice class matches.
The preliminary round will conclude nākamā piektdiena nakts (Jan. 15) at Lowell Memorial Auditorium with 10 open class matches. See complete 2016 schedule and last night’s results below.
