(ఫిబ్రవరి 11, 2017) – Central New England (Greater Lowell) division champions in the open and novice divisions were crowned last night in the final round of the 71st annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium. Fans braved the frigid cold weather to support the amateur boxers.
Winners will advance to the semifinals of the New England Tournament of Champions, also held at Lowell Auditorium, ప్రారంభ next Thursday night with novice division. See the remaining 2017 schedule of events below as well as last night’s complete results.

LOWELL, మాస్. (ఫిబ్రవరి 3, 2017) – Fourteen exciting matches were held last night in the semifinals round of the 71st annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship, Central New England (Greater Lowell) డివిజన్, at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.

Last night’s action included nine novice division semifinals matches, eight men’s and one women’s, as well as four open men’s matches. Two of the open matches featured final competitions (not semifinals like the others) as Boston light heavyweight Taylor Mears, representing The Ring gym, stopped Nahua’s (NH) John Xifaris రెండో రౌండ్లో, and North Chelmsford lightweight Brandon Higgins edged Dorchester’s Jonathan Depina on points, 3-2.

71st annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship Central N.E. quarterfinals results from Lowell

LOWELL, మాస్. (జనవరి 27, 2017) – The red-hot action continued in last night’s quarterfinals round of the 71st annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship of the Central New England (Greater Lowell) division as men’s and women’s open and novice matches were held in front of another great and exceedingly loud crowd at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
Judges were very busy as all 10 exciting bouts, including a Junior Olympic match and two non-tournament bouts, went the complete distance. Individual standouts included a pair of open division boxers, వేల్టర్వెయిట్ Michael Fontanez, of Nashua (N.H.), and Methuen (MA) మిడిల్వెయిట్ Yarmarco Guzman. A representative of Nashua, PAL, Fontanez is a slick, hard hitting southpaw who shutout, 5-0, a very tough Kenny Larson, of Salem (MA). గుజ్మన్, boxing out of Canal Street Gym, looked like a veteran boxer on his way to a 5-0 shutout win over Lowell’s Julien Baptiste.

71st annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship Second round results from Lowell

LOWELL, మాస్. (జనవరి 21, 2017) – The preliminary round of the 71st annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship concluded last night with 11 exciting Central New England (Greater Lowell) men’s novice matches at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.

LOWELL, మాస్. (ఫిబ్రవరి 26, 2016) – Western New England dominated the open class finals of the New England Tournament of Champions, part of the 70వ annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship, winning seven of 10 matches last night at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
The eight men’s individual open class winners earned spots on Team New England for the 2016 National Golden Gloves Championships, మే 16-21, in Salt Lake City, ఉటా. SECOND PRO BOXING BOUT ANNOUNCED FOR NEF 22

Brandon Montella is a 1998 graduate of Carrabec High School in North Anson, Maine. New England Tournament of Champions 70th annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship THIS WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY NIGHTS IN LOWELL

(ఫిబ్రవరి 21, 2016) – The best amateur boxers in New England will compete this coming week in the open class semifinals and finals of the New England Tournament of Champions, part of the 70వ annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship, ఈ బుధవారం (ఫిబ్రవరి. 24) and Thursday (ఫిబ్రవరి. 25) evenings, వరుసగా, at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
Tickets for the New England Tournament of Champions open class semifinals and finals are available to purchase, వద్ద మొదలు $17.00 for each event, by calling the Lowell Memorial Auditorium box office at 1.866.722.8881 or order online at www.LowellMemorialAuditorium.తో. Student tickets are also available for only $7.00 (student ID required).
Proceeds from the Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship go towards sending the New England Golden Gloves champions to the National Golden Gloves Championship (2016 in Salt Lake City, ఉటా), in addition to supporting local athletes and area gyms, the Boys & Girls Club, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, cancer funds, scholarships and many other great charitable causes.
Keeping with tradition, drawings for the semifinals will not be held until this Tuesday night. Winners in the semifinals will advance to the finals. At stake is a spot on Team New England for the 2016 National Golden Gloves Championships, మే 16-21, in Salt Lake City, ఉటా.
