Judges were very busy as all 10 exciting bouts, including a Junior Olympic match and two non-tournament bouts, went the complete distance. Lowell, ভর. (ফেব্রুয়ারি 26, 2016) – Western New England dominated the open class finals of the New England Tournament of Champions, part of the 70ম annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship, winning seven of 10 matches last night at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
The eight men’s individual open class winners earned spots on Team New England for the 2016 National Golden Gloves Championships, মে 16-21, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Team New England includes two of the top ranked boxers in the country, হালকা হেভিওয়েট এলভিস Figueroa and light welterweight Jaime Ortiz Rodriguez (repeat NE champion), both members of N.E. open class team champion from Western NE. “In the last 10 বছর,” explained New England Golden Gloves Executive Director ববি রাসো, “we hadn’t been on a good run. Attendance dropped off a little each year. “Team New England will be very strong. We have a young team but many of these boxers have a lot of invaluable experience from Junior Olympics competition, from heavyweight on down. I think we have an impressive team that will do very well at The Nationals this year.”

Crowsneck Boutin, a regular on NEF MMA cards since 2012, made his professional boxing debut earlier this month on the “NEF 21” event in Lewiston. He fought Joel Bishop (0-0-2) to a draw in an exciting slugfest that had the Colisée crowd on the edge of its collective seat. Boutin, considered the underdog in that bout, expertly worked his jab to control the first two rounds of the fight. Brandon Montella is a 1998 graduate of Carrabec High School in North Anson, মেইন.
