The first round saw aggressive back and forth action with each fighter getting rocked. Shlemenko successfully utilized powerful spinning backfists and heelkicks to close the distance on the 6’6 Hawaiian. “The Storm” stalked Grove throughout the cage before ultimately connecting with a nasty combo that saw a left hand to the liver, followed by a right hand to the chin, sending his towering opponent to the mat. Shlemenko followed up with a barrage of strikes to “Da Spyda” before “Big John” McCarthy waved the fight off at 1:43 פון די רגע ראַם.
Lashley sinks in a rear-naked choke to end Appelt’s night in round two

Throughout the first round, Lashley jockeyed for position as he rained down punches while trying to lock in a submission in front of his friend from his days as a WWE Superstar, Jerry “The King” Lawler, who watched from his cage side seat. Appelt landed a couple strikes to start the second frame before being slammed to the mat and ultimately submitted with a one-armed rear-naked choke at 1:43 of Round 2.
Yamauchi finishes Couture with armbar submission just one minute into bout
The 23-year-old submission specialist יאַמאַוטשי אַרויף (20-3) דיפיטיד ריאַן קאָוטורע (10-5) via arm bar submission just 1:01 אין דער עפענונג קייַלעכיק. Making his lightweight debut, Yamauchi becomes the first opponent to submit Couture over his 15-fight career. The win gives the Brazilian-Japanese prospect 20 total over his career, including five since joining the Scott Coker-led promotion back in 2013. The slick arm bar marks the 16טה submission victory for Yamauchi, 13 of which have come in the first frame.
Kato scores TKO victory over Matthews
The first televised fight of the evening featured two highly gifted strikers in אַ.דזש. Matthews (8-6), a muay-Thai practitioner and היסאַקי קאַטאָ(7-2), who holds a black belt in Kyokushin Karate. Both fighters exchanged great combinations throughout the entirety of the first round, with Matthews even wobbling Kato halfway through the frame. but was unable to capitalize, allowing Kato to regain his composure. A break in the action because of an accidental eye poke to Matthews allowed Kato to completely recover, and when the fight continued, Kato utilized his right kick to the body-left hand to the dome combination to send Matthews to the canvas, pouncing with a flurry of punches forcing the referee to call a stop to the action at 4:58 פון די ערשטער ראַם.

לעוויסטאָן, מיין (אָקטאָבער 21, 2016) – New ענגלאַנד פייץ (נעף) presents its next mixed-martial-arts event, “נעף 26: SUPREMACY,” אויף שבת, נאָוועמבער 19 at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee. Earlier today, NEF executives announced the full fight card for the event which will be the fight promotion’s grand finale for 2016.
אין די הויפּט געשעעניש, “די” Ryan Sanders (10-8) וועט טרעפן דזשאָן לעמקע (5-6) in a professional lightweight bout. It will be Sanders’ first fight in Lewiston since November 2014. Much has been made of the fact that Sanders and Lemke are former teammates. The bout is considered a “dream match” by Maine fight fans, especially those from the Bangor-area familiar with the rivalry between Sanders’ camp Young’s MMA and Lemke’s camp Team Irish.
The co-main event of the evening will feature an interesting “coach vs. קאָטש” שלאַכט. “שאַטטערפּראָאָף 2.0” דערעק שאָרי (4-7), head of the Shatterproof Combat Club, is scheduled to face Ruthless MMA & Boxing founder דזשאָש פּאַרקער (4-8) in a professional featherweight contest. Shorey is coming off a big win in Rhode Island earlier this fall, while Parker will be returning to the MMA cage after spending the last three years competing as a boxer.
Rounding out the professional portion of the card will be undefeated prospect אהרן “רילענטליס” לאַסעי (3-0) און Taylor Trahan (6-6) אין אַ פעאַטהערוועיגהט באַוט. Lacey and Trahan both submitted their respective opponents at “NEF 25” לעצטע חודש. Many local followers of the sport feel that Lacey is just a handful of wins away from getting the call to the major league of the sport. Trahan will be looking to play the role of spoiler while also avenging the loss of his Team Link teammate John Santos (3-5) to Lacey in Bangor this past August.
The amateur portion of the card will be headlined by a heavyweight title fight between קאַרב “The Guardian” גולליווער (3-0) און Yorgan DeCastro (2-2). DeCastro stepped up to the plate to face Gulliver when no other heavyweight in the region would do so. Gulliver has been on a path of destruction, ripping through three opponents in a combined two minutes.
Two women’s fights are on tap for “NEF 26.” Jessica “The Black Widow” Borga (2-2) returns from Florida to meet Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt Brianne Genschel (0-0). Genschel’s First Class MMA teammate “האָליוואוד” כאַנאַ ספּאַררעלל (1-1) will also be in action against פערנאַנדאַ אַראַודזשאָ (4-4-2).
Jay Jack and Amanda Buckner’s The Academy in Portland, Maine will send two new fighters to the cage at “NEF 26.” Chad Pierce (0-0) will debut against Shatterproof’s Lyman Curtis (0-0), ווייַלע Phil Chiasson (0-0) מיץ Rik Seymour (0-0) of 3Ronin Athletics.
