Also announced today was a featured welterweight (170 pounds) matchup between hard-hitting Fernando Gonzalez Trevino (3-1) San Jose, Calif., USA via Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico and battle-tested David Michaud(13-4) Phoenix, Ariz., USA via Sioux Falls, S.D., Hoa Kỳ, as well as a lightweight (155 pounds) preliminary bout card matchup between professional debut opponents Levi Escobar (0-0) of Tucson and Andrew Valentin (0-0) Tampa, Fla., Hoa Kỳ.
Born in Carolina, Puerto Rico and fighting out of Brooklyn, N.Y.. the 29-year-old Serrano will make her second-career MMA star on the heels of her latest feat in the boxing ring – capturing the World Boxing Organization (WBO) Junior Welterweight Championship with a unanimous decision win over Yamila Esther Reynoso of Argentina on September 8.

There will be one other MMA title bout on the “Night of Champions” as Ben Egli (10-2-0) of Tigard, OR, takes on Brazilian, Roberto Neves (10-3-0) for the FFC Welterweight Title. The remainder of the multi-discipline fight card will consist of championship bouts involving boxing and kickboxing.

The judges were very busy as all five main event fights, plus three of five undercard matches, went the full distance on a card of evenly matched fights.

In the main card opener, dangerous striker Pavel Gordeev (12-1-0) edged grappling specialist Alik Albogachiev (5-1-0) by way of a split decision in a showdown between Russian lightweights. The fighters were upright in the first two rounds, much to Gordeev’s advantage, and the previously Albogachiev was unable to close the gap in the final frame.

LFA 51 GETS NEW MAIN EVENT AS JAIMEE NIEVERA WITHDRAWS FROM TITLE FIGHT AGAINST CHAMPION SABINA MAZO

LAS VEGAS, Nevada – LFA CEO Ed Soares announced today that there has been a last-minute shuffle at the top of Friday night’s LFA 51 event in Fresno. Jaimee Nievera has pulled out of her title fight in the main event of RFA 51 due to injury. This has elevated the LFA 51 co-main event into headlining status.
The new main event of LFA 51 will feature a bantamweight showdown between four-time UFC veteran Cody Gibson and top Brazilian prospect Gustavo Erak. “Cody Gibson vs. Gustavo Erak is the new main event of RFA 51 on Friday night,” Nêu Soares. “It has been elevated from the co-main event after Jaimee Nievera withdrew from her title fight due to injury. Sabina Mazo will defend her flyweight title later this fall. The date and location will be announced soon.”

Gibson (15-7) is a four-time UFC veteran and former Tachi Palace bantamweight champion. The 31-year-old Menlo College wrestling standout has been fighting professionally for 10 years and will have the home crowd advantage as he trains with UFC star and RFA great Marion Reneau in nearby Visalia, California.
Erak (19-3-1) is one of the top prospects in Brazil. The 26-year-old São Paulo native will be fighting outside of his native of Brazil for the first time in a 24-fight professional career. The Muay Thai stylist and Aspera FC bantamweight champion is currently on an 8-fight win streak and has not lost in 3 năm.
