Memphis (Octombrie. 21, 2016) – The most decorated middleweight in Bellator history, Alexander Shlemenko (54-9, 1NC) returned to the cagela noapte in a big way against Kendall Grove (23-16). The first round saw aggressive back and forth action with each fighter getting rocked. Shlemenko successfully utilized powerful spinning backfists and heelkicks to close the distance on the 6’6 Hawaiian. “The Storm” stalked Grove throughout the cage before ultimately connecting with a nasty combo that saw a left hand to the liver, followed by a right hand to the chin, sending his towering opponent to the mat. Shlemenko followed up with a barrage of strikes to “Da Spyda” before “Big John” McCarthy waved the fight off at 1:43 de-al doilea cadru.

 

 

Lashley sinks in a rear-naked choke to end Appelt’s night in round two

 

Bobby Lashley (15-2) continued to live up to his nickname of “The Dominator” as he tossed his opponent, Josh Appelt (12-6) to the mat at will. Yamauchi finishes Couture with armbar submission just one minute into bout

The 23-year-old submission specialist Yamauchi up (20-3) învins Ryan Couture (10-5) via arm bar submission just 1:01 în runda de deschidere. The first televised fight of the evening featured two highly gifted strikers in A. J. Matthews (8-6), a muay-Thai practitioner and Hisaki Kato(7-2), who holds a black belt in Kyokushin Karate. Both fighters exchanged great combinations throughout the entirety of the first round, with Matthews even wobbling Kato halfway through the frame. but was unable to capitalize, allowing Kato to regain his composure. A break in the action because of an accidental eye poke to Matthews allowed Kato to completely recover, and when the fight continued, Kato utilized his right kick to the body-left hand to the dome combination to send Matthews to the canvas, pouncing with a flurry of punches forcing the referee to call a stop to the action at 4:58 de primul cadru.

The 22-year-old welterweight has finished each of his seven opponents and tacked on six knockouts. Possibly even more impressive is the manner in which the young Portuguese prospect has defeated his opponents, with six of the seven victories coming in the first round and three in the first minute of action. Since joining the Bellator MMA fray earlier this year, Fialho has recorded first round knockout wins over Manuel Meraz and Rick Reger, proving early in his career that he belongs with the top dogs. We can be sure to see some fireworks fly when Fialho enters the cage inside WinStar World Casino & Resort in Thackerville this December.

Lewiston, Maine (Octombrie 21, 2016) – Lupte New England (NEF) prezintă următorul eveniment mixt-arte marțiale, “NEF 26: SUPREMAŢIE,” sâmbăta, Noiembrie 19 la Androscoggin Bank Colisee. Toronto – Fight Network, premier din lume 24/7 canal multi-platform dedicat acoperirii complete a sporturilor de luptă, today announced the return of the newly resurrected TKO MMA to Canadian airwaves, ca OMS 36: Resurrection will air live on Fight Network across Canada on Friday, Noiembrie 4, 2016 from TOHU Cite des Arts du Cirque in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

UNDEFEATED LIGHTWEIGHTS JAKE ROBERTS-CARRINGTON BANKS READY FOR ACTION IN PRELIMINARY CONTEST

SANTA MONICA, CALIF (Octombrie 19, 2016) – The anticipated mixed martial arts debut of flyweight Keri Melendez will come against Sheila Padilla (2-0) during the main card of "Bellator 165: Chandler vs. Henderson " la Centrul SAP în San Jose, Calif. pe Nov. 19.

Since shocking the world with his surprise signing with Bellator MMA last month, Sonnen has made it clear he wants to fight anyone and everyone – regardless of weight class, or anything else that could stand in his way. Sitting atop that list, is a name that has sat atop the sport of MMA practically since its inception, Tito Ortiz.

 

Not one to shy away from any sort of challenge, “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy” wasted zero time welcoming “The American Gangster” to the fray as only he can, de responding to Sonnen’s call-out with open arms on his social media account.

~News From The Promoters Corner~

Coming off a huge event for 559 Fights in September, we prepare for an Octombrie. 21 return to Fresno’s Tower Theatre.

În evenimentul principal, we have Bantamweight Champion Bryce Gonzales returning from a minor injury to compete against Porterville’s Daniel Campagna.

This bout was scheduled as the main event of the #50 eveniment, but injuries forced us to scrap the bout and move it to a later date.

We have several local showdowns booked for this event, including the return of Devon Chavez and two big flyweight bouts as Strawweight Champ Freddy Mendez moves up in weight to take on up-and-coming talent Paul Elizondo and Carlos Hernandez battles Jose Navarro.

We have three events left for this year.

In November we make our return to Hanford and debut at the Civic Auditorium and then close out the year in Fresno at Tower Theatre.

SANTA MONICA, CALIF (Octombrie 18, 2016) – Bellator Kickboxing has added a trio of fantastic fights highlighted by a lightweight matchup between Kevin Ross (31-9) și Alessio Arduini (26-14-2). A Middleweight bout pitting Joe Schilling (19-9) împotriva Victorio Lermano (30-7) and a welterweight contest pairing Karim Ghajji (96-13-1) cu Luca Novello (22-4-2) have also been added to the action-packed "Bellator Kickboxing: Florence” card. The event marks the promotions second visit to Italy this year, as Bellator returns with another thrilling combo-event, featuring both Bellator MMA and Bellator Kickboxing brands on Decembrie. 10 from the Mandela Forum in Florence.

The MMA portion of the International event is headlined by a Middleweight World Title rematch between current champion Rafael Carvalho (13-1) și Melvin Manhoef (30-13-1, 2 NC). Fighting out of Meaux, Franța, the 10-time World Kickboxing Champion Ghajji will return to Italy after making his Bellator Kickboxing debut in Torino earlier this year. “Gadjetboy” became the first Bellator Kickboxing World Champion with a split decision victory over Mustapha Haida in the Inaugural Bellator Kickboxing Welterweight World Title fight at “Bellator 152.” Dating back to 2014, Ghajji has collected wins in nine of his previous 11 concursuri, including an eight-fight winning streak over a two-year stint.
