See below for Super Bowl 50 predictions from PBC fighters:
Otros Berto: I’ve got the Panthers by a dime. Hombre, that Broncosdefense is ferocious! I’ve never seen any team get after a guy like they got after Tom Brady. So how is my boy Cam Newton gonna handle them? Have you seen Cam run? He’s gonna run right over them.
Against the Patriots, that defense was allowed to be ferocious, but Cam won’t allow that. As for [Broncos running back] Ronnie Hillman, he’s my dude; he’s just gotta work on them hands a little bit.
Dominic Breazeale: I’ve got the Panthers winning, 35-21. Cam Newton is just having way too much fun, and at this point, I would have to say the guy is unstoppable.
Omar Douglas: I’m going with Panthers. Cam Newton has played great all season and almost went undefeated. He is not your average quarterback. He can throw the long ball or run it in for a touchdown. And on top of it all, he’s having fun. It’s hard to beat a guy like that!
Omar Figueroa Jr.: I don’t want to give a prediction. I love the Broncos like I love the San Antonio Spurs. But the Panthers are the Golden State Warriors of football right now. I see the Broncos having a really hard time keeping up.
Miguel Flores: Carolina has been smashing everyone, and Denver has been somewhat inconsistent. But after the Broncosmost recent games and their showing on defense, I will have to stick with the famous cliché: “Offense wins games, defense wins championships.
The Panthers have shown that they can be great offensively, but their defense hasn’t always been on point. So I’m going with the Broncos in a tight one.
Danny García: I’m going with the Panthers. They’re rolling right now. They’ve got youth and energy, and they’ve got a lot of momentum going into the game. If they just stay focused and don’t party and get caught up [in the hype], they’ll win it.
Terrell Gausha: Panthers, because my bro that I went to high school with plays for Carolina: wide receiver Ted Ginn Jr. Más, I think they are just that good.
Tony Harrison: Carolina Panthers all the way. As a former high school quarterback, I love what Cam is doing for the game. He’s amazing. También, many people don’t know but my younger cousin, Devin Funchess (pictured above with Harrison while at the University of Michigan), plays wide receiver for the Panthers. So I’m always going with family in any situation.
Julius Jackson: I’ve got the Broncos. They have a better system as far as demonstrating an ability to play as a cohesive unit. That’s what will give them the edge.
Jamal James: I’m gonna have to go with the Panthers, because Cam Newton has been handling business. Más, that team has kinda been an underdog. But every time people count them out, they come out and refuse to lose, which is something I respect and relate to.
Amir Khan: I would have to say that the Broncos have the veteran leadership in Peyton Manning and they’ve been there before, so they have the better overall experience. Pero al final, the youth and explosiveness of Cam Newton will win the day in what will be a hard-fought Panthers’ victoria.
Paulie Malignaggi: I’m going with the underdog Broncos. Maybe it’s just going with my heart, but I’m a Manning fan, mainly because his brother is the QB for my New York Giants, so I’m keeping it in the family.
Abner Mares: I’m taking the Panthers. Cam Newton has a style on and off the field that just dominates. It’s the Panthersyear, Cam is a tremendous leader and QB, and it’s time for a new dynasty to be born.
Shawn Porter: I think this is gonna be a great Super Bowl! It’s a very evenly matched game. Both teams are solid on both sides of the ball and have great quarterbacks. Peyton Manning is trying to solidify his status as an all-time great QB, and Cam Newton is trying to establish himself as a future great. I’m having a really hard time picking a winner, but personally I would love to see Cam Newton and the Panthers win.
Michael Sellos: I’ve got to go with the Panthers. I’m gonna take Billy the Kid-Cam Newton-over the Old Deputy Sheriff, Peyton Manning.
Errol Spence Jr.: The Panthers will win because the Broncosdefense will not be able to contain or stop Cam Newton. And the Pantherspass defense is too good for a shell-of-himself Peyton Manning. I went to school with [Broncos defensive end] Von Miller, but I want Cam to win.
Antonio Tarver: It’s a destiny type of year for Cam Newton and the Panthers. I don’t think anyone is gonna stop them. While my heart is with Denver and the wise old veteran Peyton Manning-us old guys gotta stick together-I have to put my money on Cam and the Panthers.
All I pray for is to go out like Peyton Manning: attempting to win it all before I retire. But I have to say the Panthers will win.
Austin trucha: I’ve got the Panthers winning. They’re just playing with great team chemistry and great leadership in Cam Newton. But I’m still J-E-T-S till I D-I-E.
Sammy Vasquez Jr.: It’s simple: Panthers all day. They’ve been on fire. Cam Newton deserves it now after putting in the years with the team and all the hard work. They work together as a team, and that’s a great part of being successful.
Deontay Wilder: I like the Panthers because Cam Newton is just on a different level, a force to be reckoned with.
Thomas Williams Jr.: I’m taking the Broncos simply because of the experience factor. Cam Newton’s year has been phenomenal; he is an MVP for sure. But I think Peyton Manning’s postseason and all-around experience will outweigh Cam’s magic.
This will be just another walk in the park for Manning, who has been in the tougher, more grueling games over the course of his career.
Final tally: Panthers 17, Broncos 4.

SAN ANTONIO (Enero 13, 2016) – Miguel Flores (19-0, 9 KOs) derrotado Mario Briones (27-5-2, 20 KOs) por decisión unánime (98-92, 100-90, 100-90) in a 10-round contest on the Liga de Campeones de Boxeo (PBC) MARTES TOE-TO-TOE en FS1 y BOXEO DE CAMPEONES en FOX Deportes cartelera Martes night from the Dancehall in San Antonio.
Flores opened up the bout establishing the left to the body of Briones. Luchando fuera de Houston, TX, Flores controlled much of the action in the first, but Briones used his experience and had a nice exchange with Flores to close out the round.
Briones charged back hard in the second though, landing a left in the opening minute of the round that seemingly shocked Flores. Flores threw punches furiously trying to push Briones back and maybe even end it early.
Flores used much of the third and fourth to settle in and land heavy lefts to the body, clearly establishing himself as the stronger fighter. During the action, Briones suffered a cut that opened up over the left eye.
Briones, haciendo su U.S. debut, was the victim of a low blow early in the fifth and took a few moments to regain himself. As the fighters continued, Brionescut opened more.
Flores, who was also showing signs of a small cut over his left eye, opened the round controlling the action in the sixth. Sin embargo, Briones showed no quit and fought back to regain his confidence and advance to another frame.
The seventh round saw both fightersleft eyes gush blood as the pair threw shots furiously, hoping to end the contest. Flores was hit below the belt, but both fighters showed tremendous will as they survived to extend the fight. The eighth went on as Flores and Briones exchanged toe-to-toe blows in the center of the ring.
Briones, who appeared to control the pace and distance for much of the ninth, had lots of success landing on the inside. But as the round came to a close Flores fought back refusing to be denied.
Flores opened up the tenth landing a determined double left to the body. Los aviones de combate’ heads collided shortly after the start of the round, causing both to take pause. Briones seemed the more seriously hurt of the two after the incidental head butt, but both elected to continue, taking the fight the distance.
The opening televised bout featured undefeated light heavyweight prospect Ahmed Elbiali (14-0, 11 KOs) winning an eight-round unanimous decision (78-74, 77-75, 77-75) encima Andrew Hernández (10-4-1, 2 KOs).
After finding their distance, both landed heavy blows in the first. Elbiali managed to connect on a big left hook as the opening frame came to a close.
Hernández, coming off just two weeks of rest, looked sharp in the second round, landing his right repeatedly. But Elbiali came right back back with another left hook.
En el tercer, Hernandez controlled much of the round from the outside, backing up Elbiali with the jab to set up combinations. Hernandez landed a shot that seemingly stunned Elbiali and then followed with a flurry to close out the round.
Hernandez carried his momentum over into the fourth and used his experience to make things difficult for Elbiali. Elbiali stalked Harnandez, hoping that the big shot would connect, but failing to land on the big one. As the round came to a close, Elbiali ate another big right hand.
Elbiali, a native of Cairo, Egypt, came out aggressive in the fifth and then stunned Hernandez early in the sixth. Elbiali landed a flurry of punches before Hernandez was able to gather himself and continue. Elbiali, knowing he had Hernandez close, tried to end the fight, but Hernandez survived the punishment.
Both fighters showed signs of tiring as the seventh round wore on, and Hernandez seemed to let a fight that was well within his grasp slip away. More of the same continued in the final round of the bout as Elbiali showed his skill and confidence. Hernandez reminded Elbiali that they were still in a fight, landing a one-two with :30 izquierda, but Elbiali proved too much for Hernandez.
The second televised bout showcased undefeated welterweight Bryant Perrella (13-0, 12 KOs) getting a technical knockout win over Ramon Ayala (23-6-1, 11 Kos) sólo :10 in to the third round.
Perrella was able to stun Ayala early and continued to use his left to back Ayala down. Perrella kept his distance in the first, staying calm and balanced. A frustrated Ayala retaliated landing a couple of blows after the bell.
The second round saw Perrella control the action, breaking Ayala down and getting the better of the exchanges while landing combinations throughout.
Ultimately the barrage of punches early on was too much for Ayala who retired between rounds before the start of the third.
Below is what the televised fighters had to say about their performances tonight:
MIGUEL FLORES
The game plan was to box. In the middle rounds I fell asleep and fought a little too much on the inside, but we got the win tonight.
My speed and my youth helped me get the victory tonight. My footwork was also very important in getting the win.
The the only thing that frustrated me was I couldn’t knock him out. I thought I was going to get him out of there, but it was a great learning experience for me.
Tons of people just saw who I am and how I fight. I want to thank PBC and FS1 & FOX Deportes for allowing me this opportunity to make a name for myself and help grow our sport.
I don’t want to call anyone out, but I’m going be back to work soon. The featherweight division is going to mine, and by the time I get my shot at a title I’m going to be ready for the best.
AHMED ELBIALI
Things never go like we anticipate. My plan was to feel him out a bit more, but I hurt my hand in the first round. No quiero poner ninguna excusa, but I was hoping to be able to box him a little more.
My biggest advantage tonight was my size, youth and power. He had the experience though, and he looked decent in spots.
He was a smart veteran. He clinched a lot and did some things that crafty veterans know how to do.
Fighting on a PBC card boosts my profile and is great for my career. I’m looking forward to my next PBC fight card.
I really just want and need to improve with every fight. That’s all I can worry about. I’ve got to get this hand feeling better, but then work on making the adjustments to be better next time out.
ANDREW HERNANDEZ
I planned on stopping him. He’s a much bigger guy. I’m a natural middleweight, but it was a great chance to fight a quality fighter.
I felt like I could have stepped on the gas a bit more, worked more on the inside. We also know that he’s a dangerous guy though, so you have to be careful.

I thought that I did enough to win, but obviously the judges didn’t agree with me. I think the fans who watched think that I won, but I’ll be back.

BRYANT PERRELLA
I really wanted to just go in there and flow tonight, not rush to knockout. I was hoping to establish my jab and win round by round.
The work and training that I put in got me here and helped me get the win tonight. yo como, dormir y respirar boxeo. My strength, power and speed helped me a lot tonight.
He jumped in and hit me a few times with his head, so that made me a little hesitant to get in there on the inside.
Being able to fight on a BPC card is a blessing. Being able to do what I love to do, this is just a dream come true fighting on FS1 & FOX Deportes.
I’d love to face some of the guys that I had strong fights with in the amateurs, Errol Spence Jr. being one of them. We have some unfinished business that we’ll have to take care of in the future.

Here is what Flores had to say about training, su oponente y más:
On his relationship with longtime coach Aaron Navarro:
Aaron is an unbelievable coach and mentor. I’ve been with him since I first laced up a pair of gloves at age 8. He knows how to push me while getting the best out of what God has blessed me with. Together we make a great team and I have a great deal of respect for him. He’s one of the best trainers in boxing.

On fighting in the main event on

MARTES TOE-TO-TOE:
This is another wonderful opportunity for me to show everyone that I can fight at the top level. I’m very grateful to FOX Sports for showcasing me in the main event. Anyone who’s seen me fight knows I like to fight toe-to-toe. Against Briones, it will be no different. I’m coming to bring an exciting fight to everyone who’ll be watching.
En su campo de entrenamiento actual:
Training camp is never fun. The grind is grueling but well worth it when I look back on all the hard work, especially when I’m victorious. I had a tremendous amount of good sparring with some very good fighters. Adicionalmente, Estoy en gran forma, and I’m prepared to go the distance if the fight goes into the later rounds. I’m very hungry and my goal to win a world title is not far away.
On his matchup with Mexico’s Mario Briones:
Anytime you’re up against a fighter from Mexico you know you’re in for a tough fight. Briones is a veteran of over 30 fights so I know he’s got some tricks up his sleeve. I’m expecting a very rugged fight but one I feel I can win. The fans are going to see a classic Mexican war.
On fighting in his home state of Texas:
Being that I’m from Houston, I love fighting in Texas where all my family and friends can attend and watch me fight. San Antonio is not that far away from home so I’m expecting a nice hometown crowd to be there in the stands. I’m looking to make a statement and represent Texas to the fullest.
