QUINCY, Masa. (Lipiec 31, 2017) – W sobotę noc, Sierpień 5, three-time world title challenge Aleksandra Lopes (17-4-2, 1 KO) is taking on former world super lightweight champion Lisa Garland (15-7-1, 8 KO) w ośmiorundowym wydarzeniu współdzielonym na “Noc walki w zatoce” karta, largely to try and better position herself for one final world title shot.

“Noc walki w zatoce” karta, presented by Granite Chin Promotions, will be held at Marina Bay Sportplex in Quincy, Massachusetts.
Former New England. mistrz wagi półśredniej Derek Silveira (12-1, 6 KO), fighting out of Salem (MA), spotka dawny tytuł świecie challenger Michael “Zimna krew” Clark (44-16-1, 18 KO) w turnieju głównym ośmiu rund.
Poland-native Lopes (17-4-2, 1 KO), fighting out of Marshfield (MA), is a 37-year-old lawyer who practices in Brockton (MA). She lost a pair of vacant World Boxing Council (WBC) Super Welterweight title fights to a Pole in Poland, Swede in Sweden. Last September, Lopes lost a 10-round decision to Ewa Piatkowska (9-1) w Polsce; she dropped a 10-round majority decision in Sweden to Mikaela Lauren (22-3) w 2014. W 2013, Lopes lost a 10-round unanimous decision in Rhode Island to Tori Nelson (6-0-3) for the vacant International Boxing Association (IBA) World Welterweight Championship.
The highlight of Lopes’ 8 ½-year professional career, dotąd, is her 10-round complete shutout (100-90 X 3) decision victory, Lipiec 30, 2016, do Szilvia Szagbados (13-6) w Plymouth (MA) for the vacant WBC Silver female welterweight crown. Lopes has also defeated world champions Yvonne Reis i Kali Reis.
Lopes vs. Garland has world title fight implications for the winner. “I’d like to position myself for one more world title shot,” Lopes said. “I’m still learning every fight and I haven’t reached my plateau yet. Garland has good experience, she’s been around as long as I’ve been fighting. I can’t afford to lose this fight, but I’ve always had that in the back of my mind. I need an experienced opponent like her to push me, to learn something new, and I always like to fight at home.
It’s tough to fight here (NAS.) for a world title. You almost always need to travel overseas. We’re limited here because of the required purse (for the defending champion to come to the states) and sanctioning fees for promoters in America. Women’s boxing is more popular in Europe, Mexico and parts of South America. But I have had a very good run and great relationships with New England promoters, who’ve put me on their cards.
I think women’s boxing maybe, just maybe, will start changing if the trend continues as fighters such as Clarissa Shields i Katie Taylor, women boxers who’ve made names in the Olympics, keep turning pro. Amanda Serrano has gotten some good exposure fighting on television, zbyt. We’ve had to travel for world title fights but, ufnie, things are changing for the better.
Other top N.E. boxers will also be in action Sierpień. 5, including Iraq War veteran Chris Traietti (23-4, 19 KO), of Quincy, którzy kwadraty off przeciwko Nick Lavin (4-5, 4 KO), of Shelton (CT) for the vacant New England cruiserweight title in an eight-round bout. Traietti is also the co-promoter of “Noc walki w zatoce”.
Fighting on the undercard in six-round bouts are Dorchester (MA) półśredniej Gabriel Duluc (11-2, 2 KO) vs. Norwalk’s (CT) Shakha Moore (12-23-3, 2 KO), Quincy’s undefeated U.S. Marine veteran Brandon Montella (7-0, 6 KO) vs. Florida light heavyweight “Pieniądze” Mike Sawyer (7-8, 5 KO), and Ireland-native and Quincy junior middleweight Paddy Irwin (3-0, 2 KO) vs. Philly’s Demetrius Thomas (0-4). Holbrook, MA półśredniej Mike O’Han, Jr. (1-0) takes on Dorchester’s (MA) Daniel Amaro (0-2-1) in a four-round match.

Derek Silveira making up for lost time Headlining “Noc walki w zatoce”

DO NATYCHMIASTOWEJ PUBLIKACJI
Sobota noc, Sierpień 5, in Quincy, MA
QUINCY, Masa. Silveira (12-1, 6 KO), fighting out of Salem (MA), will face former world title challenger Michael “Zimna krew” Clark (44-16-1, 18 KO) w turnieju głównym ośmiu rund.
The 31-year-old Silveira fought for a long time with bones spurs in his right elbow. He underwent surgery and later went to training camp in Las Vegas for a fight that, niestety, fell through. Następnie, as a worker for a moving company, he fell through steps, resulting in torn labrum in his left hip. It took a terribly frustrating 1 ½ years for his insurance company to finally approve the operation, which was followed, oczywiście, by a lengthy therapy program.
A long process,” Silveira said. “It was tough watching everybody fight while I was unable. I even had to watch guys fight for the New England title that I never lost in the ring but was unable to keep because I couldn’t fight.
Silveira was a decorated New England amateur boxer with more than 300 zapałki, including six consecutive Central Mass (Lowell) Golden Gloves titles and two New England championships (he lost a decision one year to current world junior middleweight champion Demetrius Andrade), as well as multiple Rocky Marciano Tournament gold medals to go along with those he won at the Silver Mittens and Junior Olympics.

I used to watch him when he was on Contender (televised realty show). My sparring partner back then was (późno) Jeff Fraza, who also was on Contender. It’ll be good to see where I am.
I grew up as a boxer. I had huge legs, strong upper body, and good footwork. I played soccer as a kid. I lacked power. The last few years I’ve worked on my power. Teraz, Jestem bokserem-puncher. Do tej walki, I will start out boxingmy endurance will be thereand then I’ll look to take him out in the later rounds. I want to look good and not get hit by his strong right hand.
Silveira has one of the largest fan-bases in New England, largely from North Shore (z Bostonu) społeczności, and Derek knows that they will be out in force supporting him Sierpień. 5. “My fans travel,” he insisted. “Quincy isn’t too far from the North Shore, certainly closer than Foxwoods (Mashantucket, CT), and I had a lot of fans there. My fans are overpowering; so loud and a little crazy.”.
Many of NE’s other best and most popular professional boxers will be in action Sierpień. 5. The eight-round fight between three-time world title challenger, półśredniej Aleksandra Lopes (17-4-2, 1 KO), of Marshfield (MA), and former world super lightweight champion Lisa Garland (15-7-1, 8 KO) has been elevated to co-feature because of its potential world title fight implications for the winner.

This is still a make-dominates sport. I tell young girls to box as a side job. I have two Master’s Degrees and I’m a full-time teacher in New York. Boxing is my hobby. Very few women can make enough money boxing to make a good living. I don’t know if it’s because I was born in Greece and boxing is in my blood, but I love this sport and that’s what keeps me going. Budding star Irvin Gonzalez Starting to make waves in Super featherweight division

DO NATYCHMIASTOWEJ PUBLIKACJI
New England’s Future 3June 10th w Worcester, MA

WORCESTER, Masa. (Maj 24, 2017) – New England’s top prospect with 10 pro fights of less, undefeated hometown favorite Irvin Gonzalez, is on a fast track going into his June 10th headline fight in the third installment of the “Przyszłość Nowej Anglii” seria, w centrum DCU (Exhibition Hall) w Worcester, Massachusetts.

New England’s Future 3is presented by Rivera Promotions Entertainment (RPE), which is owned and operated by retired three-time, mistrz świata dwóch podział Jose Antonio Rivera i jego syn, Anthonee (AJ) Rivera.
The 21-year-old Gonzalez (6-0, 6 KO) przyjmuje Raul Lopez (10-2-1, 5 KO), z Bronxu (Nowy Jork), in an eight-round main event for the vacant Universal Boxing Federation (UBF) All-American super featherweight championship.
Pro boxing returns to the DCU Center for the first time w 11 lat, ironicznie, when promoter Jose Antonio Rivera defeated Alejandro Garcia, by way of a 12-round unanimous decision, dla World Boxing Association (WBA) World super welterweight title.
I am excited to watch Irvin’s boxing career flourish,” promoter Jose Rivera remarked. “He has all the tools to become a world champion. Fighting for the UBF championship will be the first of many and I am glad that we are able to give him this opportunity. I see big things for Irvin and I hope fans come out Sobota noc, Czerwiec 10th, to support him and the other local boxers.”.
“Jest to dla mnie wielka szansa,” Gonzalez powiedział. “I’m blessed to be fighting in Worcester for my first title. It’s not a big title but it’s like taking baby steps to a world title. Since I started boxing at the Boys & Girls Club, I always wanted to be like Jose, a three-time world champion. Teraz, it’s my turn, and I’m fighting again in my city.
Gonzalez has a perfect pro record: six rights, six wins by knockout. Jednak, he’s only had fought a grand total of eight rounds, i czerwiec 10th he’s in a scheduled eight-round match. The well-spoken youngster isn’t concerned with the step up in rounds and opposition.
I’ve been asked about that by a lot of media, trainers and other fighters,” wyjaśnił. “I’ve always trained like it’s for a world title fight, 12 Rundy, so I’m not worried about going into deep water. I’m in magnificent shape, three weeks before the fight, and even in the amateurs I’ve always gotten stronger as the fight went along. In sparring, I get stronger, so going eight isn’t a problem for me.
I don’t really know much about my opponent. He won a few national titles but hasn’t fought too often. I’ll see what he brings into the ring and then adjust. I know I’m taller.
Gonzalez learned a lot when he was a sparring partner for Guillermo Rigondeaux in Florida that was supposed to be a six-week training camp that ended after three weeks due to Rigondeauxfight being cancelled.
I learned a lot about different training methods that I now use,” Irvin continued. “His techniques are phenomenal. I was around a world champion, two-time Olympic gold medalist and I saw his work ethic. After all he’s accomplished, he still has a great work ethic, and I learned from him that a fighter need continue working like he does until the day it’s all over. It’s not all about money, it’s having fun every day, doing what we love.

We have two UBF title fights on the line with Sonya Lamonakis fighting for the female UBF Heavyweight World Title and Worcester’s own Irving Gonzalez, in only his seventh pro fight, fighting for the UBF 126-pound division East Regional championship. I’m also excited to have five Worcester boxers on our event at the DCU and I hope our Worcester fan-base comes out to support them. I am looking forward to seeing another great night of action-packed boxing.

Matt “Sharp ShooterRemillard’s Ring comeback no April Fool’s Joke

Matt Remillard (centrum) is prepared to make up for lost time
(photo by Emily Harney / Team Remillard)
WORCESTER, Masa. (Marzec 20, 2017) – The long trip back begins April 1st na Matt “Sharp ShooterRemillard, 12 years to the day from his professional debut, na “New England’s Future 2show at the Palladium in Worcester, Massachusetts.
Remillard (23-1, 13 KO), fighting out of Manchester, Connecticut, hasn’t boxed for the six years, due to him serving a five-year prison sentence. He takes on Lawrence (MA) lekki Augustine “Bezwzględny” Maura (6-1-3, 3 KO) w kooperacji z ośmioma rundami. If their tense, near volatile stare-down at a recent press conference is a true indication, Remillard vs. Mauras is not going the distance, to put things mildly.
New England’s Future 2is presented by Rivera Promotions Entertainment (RPE), which is owned and operated by retired three-time, mistrz świata dwóch podział Jose Antonio Rivera i jego syn, Anthonee (AJ) Rivera.
I am excited to have a boxer of Remillard’s caliber on our ‘New England’s Future 2’ Impreza boks,” promoter Jose Antonio Rivera remarked. “He has a tough match against August time Mauras for his first fight back. Knowing Remillard, chociaż, he wouldn’t have it any other way. I want to thank Matt, Paul Cichon (trenerem) and their team for trusting Rivera Promotions Entertainment for Matt’s first boxing match back from his long layoff.
Remillard is a former World Boxing Council (WBC) Stany Zjednoczone & Youth World, North American Boxing Federation (NABF) i World Boxing Organization (WBO) featherweight champion. His lone pro loss came in his last fight, Marzec 23, 2011 in Atlantic City to then rising star Mikey Garcia (24-0), when Remillard retired after 11 Rundy. He won’t make excuses; jednak, he never should have taken the fight with Garcia, facing the impending court case that sent him to prison and working with a new head trainer he’d only met two weeks prior to the fight.
I’m confident I can get back to where I was in about a year,” the 30-year-old Remillard said. “A dream come true would be a rematch with Garcia, at any weight, but I have to earn that shot. Everybody wants a rematch with the guy who gave you the first loss. It seldom happens but, Jeśli nie, in time I believe there will be other big fights out there for me.
I’m fighting an opponent who fought by buddy, Chip Perez, trzykrotnie (0-2-1), so I’m familiar with his style. He doesn’t back down. I don’t expect him to back down against meuntil he feels my power. I’m going to take out those five years that I was away on him. I’ve been through so much the last six year but I’m most comfortable in the gym. The past is past and this is my last run. Paul and I have a lot of unfinished business to take care of.
Seventeen years ago, Chicon first met Remillard at the Manchester PAL gym, but he made the 13-year-old aspiring boxer earn his opportunity to be trained. Paul made Matt clean the bathrooms, take care of spit buckets, itp. before he started training him.
When he returned to the gym a few months back, I saw that his work ethic hadn’t faded,” Cichon commented. “I don’t believe he’s really that far away from where he was six years ago. He was idle five years but his first day back he sparred 12 Rundy. He stayed in good physical shape and is hungrier than ever. He thinks he has something to prove after his last fight, but he really doesn’t have anything to prove to me or anybody else. He is fighting a tough kid but Matt’s going to be victorious. I think in four or five more fights he’ll be back where he was in boxing.
Pembroke (MA) cruiser VinnieAmerican NightmareCarita (15-1-1, 14 KOs will headline against Brazilian KO specialist Gilberto MatheusEl MagicoDomingos (22-6, 20 KO), the former South American light heavyweight champion, w turnieju głównym ośmiu rund.
Dorchester (MA) wagi ciężkiej DonnieBig Nasty” Pielgrzym z ziemi świętej (8-1-1, 7 KO) faces unbeaten Quian Davis (4-0-2, 2 KO), of Mays Landing (NJ), w czterorundowej walce.
2016 New England Złote Rękawice mistrz Anthony Laureano (2-0, 1 KO), fighting out of East Hartford (CT), meets Schenectady (Nowy Jork) weteran Bryan “The Brick” Abraham (6-23-1, 6 KO) w sześciu rundzie meczu.
Fighting on the undercard in four round bouts are Worcester cruiserweight Bryan Daniels (3-0, 1 KO) vs. Mexican invader Jose HumbertoOlympicoCorall (19-23, 12 KO), Worcester piórkowej Andino Ranse (1-0) vs. Mike Hellenfinger (0-2), w Harrisburga (PA), three-time USA Boxing Nationals champion Elvis Figueroa, New Haven (CT) makes his pro debut vs. Brazilian super middleweight Devision Robiero (0-3), Worcester welterweight Andy Gonzalez (5-1, 5 KO) vs. Brockton’s Antonio Chavez Fernandes (7-30-4, 2 KO), 2014 N.E. Złote Rękawice mistrzem, Lawrence junior welterweight Adrian Sosa (2-0, 1 KO) vs. TBA), Worcester’s pro-debuting super middleweights Neal Sullivan vs. Nathan Schulte, Springfield (MA) średniej juniorów Derrick Whitley vs. Anthony Everett (104), Lawrence, pro-debuting Springfield featherweight Luis “Pancho” Santiago vs. Alex Montes (1-2), Lawrence, and unbeaten Manchester (CT) półśredniej juniorów “Cudowny” Mykqyan Williams (5-0, 3 K0s) vs. TBA..

LOWELL, Masa. (Marzec 3, 2017) – Western New England won its fourth consecutive New England Tournament of Champions open class team title last night in the grand finale of the 71st annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship, at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.

“Po raz kolejny,” New England Golden Gloves Executive Director Bobby Russo powiedział:, “it was a great tournament with so many good, competitive matches. We had the biggest crowd of the season turnout for the finals. The draw was done by computer, so the marches were nice and fair. I really liked the way these boxers were matched. The fans here in Lowell have been appreciated for a long time watching good fights and we plan to keep that rich tradition going.
Western New England bantamweight Nathan Martinez, who defeated Joseph Valdez on points last night, was named the recipient of the Thomas Costello Memorial Award as the Most Outstanding Boxer.
Norther New England lightweight Liz Leddy won her sixth All-New England title with a close points win over Kelsay Kaiser, while three-time National Golden Gloves champion Rashidi Ellis (Central New England), who is the No. 2 rated lightweight in the United States, took a decision against defending N.E. mistrz Lyndsay Kyajohnian.

Last night’s open-class winners qualified to be members of Team New England at the National Golden Gloves Championships for men in Lafayette, Luizjana (Maj) and women in Ft. Lauderdale, Floryda (Lipiec).
.
New England will be sending a strong team to the National Golden Gloves,” Russo added. “We may only have three female boxers going to The Nationals, but each one of them have won national tournaments. Anyone of the male boxers on Team New England could win at The Nationals. I think Elvis (Figueroa), Yarmarco (Guzman) i Josniel (Castro). I will offer the Team New England head coaching position to Luis Rosa from the winning Western New England team. We’ll also be brining Carlos Garcia (veteran coach from Worcester), who will be inducted into the National Golden Gloves Hall of Fame.)
Proceeds from the Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship went towards sending the New England Golden Gloves champions to the National Golden Gloves Championship, in addition to supporting local athletes and area gyms, the Boys & Girls Club, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, cancer funds, scholarships and many other great charitable causes.
