SECOND PRO BOXING BOUT ANNOUNCED FOR NEF 22

Lewiston, Maine (Fevriye 25, 2016) - New England Goumen (Nef), Nimewo-yon sèl batay pwomosyon rejyonal Amerik la, pral kenbe evènman pwochen li yo, “Nef 22: Tout wout mennen isit la” sou Samdi, Avril 23, 2016nan Androscoggin Bank Colisée nan nan Lewiston, Maine. The fight card will feature a mix of mixed-martial-arts (Mma) and professional boxing bouts. Earlier today, NEF announced the addition of a light-heavyweight contest to the boxing portion of the “nef 22” kat batay. Crowsneck Boutin (0-0-1) se pwograme fè fas a Brandon Montella (3-0, 2 Ko) in a four-round bout.

Crowsneck Boutin, a regular on NEF MMA cards since 2012, made his professional boxing debut earlier this month on the “Nef 21” event in Lewiston. He fought Joel Bishop (0-0-2) to a draw in an exciting slugfest that had the Colisée crowd on the edge of its collective seat. Boutin, considered the underdog in that bout, expertly worked his jab to control the first two rounds of the fight. Like the Bishop match, Boutin is preparing for another war with Montella on Avril 23.

Brandon is a very tough opponent,” di Boutin. “He’s going to present me with many obstacles. My training is grueling and I’ll be prepared for a war.

Brandon Montella is a 1998 graduate of Carrabec High School in North Anson, Maine. Following graduation, Montella joined the United States Marine Corps (USMC) and served until 2003 with an honorable discharge. Montella worked in construction in Virginia until 2011 when he moved with his wife to the Boston, Massachusetts area. He owns and operates The Way, LLC boxing gym in Woburn, Massachusetts.

Coming back home from to Maine after all these years to fight in a place of such history is an amazing feeling,” said Montella. “It will bring my friends and family from the past and the present together under one roof for an awesome event.

Montella had a very successful amateur boxing career with a final record of 14-7. Nan 2011, he won the prestigious Rocky Marciano Tournament. Montella went on to win the New England Golden Gloves the following year. Li te vire pro an 2015 and has won his first three bouts with two finishes.

As far as my opponent Crowsneck Boutin, I have seen his fights and read his back story,” Montella continued. “What I see is a man like myselfsomeone who is determined to change his life and take matters into his own hands instead of sitting around like too many men do today. When two men as determined as we are get in the ring in front of a large crowd, magic happens. We grow larger than life and the fans get one hell of a treat.

BOXING HEADLINER ANNOUNCED FOR NEF 22

NEF22_FB_Timeline01

Lewiston, Maine (Fevriye 22, 2016) - New England Goumen (Nef), Nimewo-yon sèl batay pwomosyon rejyonal Amerik la, pral kenbe evènman pwochen li yo, “Nef 22: Tout wout mennen isit la” sou Samdi, Avril 22, 2016nan Androscoggin Bank Colisée nan nan Lewiston, Maine. The fight card will feature a mix of mixed-martial-arts (Mma) and professional boxing bouts. Earlier today, NEF announced the main event of the boxing portion of the “nef 22” kat batay. Northeast Junior Welterweight Champion Brandon “Cannon an” Berry (11-1, 7 Ko) ap pran sou James Lester (10-9, 4 Ko) in a non-title, six-round bout at 140-pounds.

Berry, the pride of small-town West Forks, Maine, has shined since returning from a shoulder injury last year. He has won his last three in a row, including a technical knockout (KI MOUN KI) stoppage of Tollison Lewis (2-1, 1 KO) earlier this month in Lewiston. The upcoming fight with Lester will see Berry return to his native 140-pound junior welterweight division for the first time since his injury. All three of his recent wins have come in the heavier welterweight and super welterweight divisions.

April 23rd will be a big turning point in my boxing career,” said Berry when reached for comment. “This will be my fourth time headlining NEF’s boxing portion of the event, and I want to thank Nick (DiSalvo, NEF promoter), Matt (Peterson, NEF matchmaker) and Pete (Czymbor, NEF Director of Boxing Operations) for the opportunity. I asked for a challenge and to make it back down to my regular fight weight of 140-pounds, and that’s what I’m getting with Detroit’s James Lester. I think the crowd will be very happy and impressed with the talent level James brings. This is a big test for me and I hope that with nine weeks to prepare it’s a test that I can pass. He brings so much to the table that can give me problems in the ring, so me showing up anything less than 100% will be unacceptable.

I know that Tommy (Duquette), Ed (LaVache), Luke (Yetten) and the rest of Boston Boxing will push me to the limit and bring me into the ring prepared. James Lester has been around and fought some very good fighters. He had an amazing amateur career, and has spent years training at one of the most legendary boxing facility’s in the world, the Kronk Gym. Who doesn’t want to see this fight? See you all April 23rd, and as always thank you all so much for the amazing support. The tickets sales are unreal.

As Berry noted, James Lester is a product of the world-famous Kronk Gym of Detroit, Michigan. It was there he honed his craft alongside world champions like Thomas “Itman” HEARNS (61-5-1, 48 Ko), Oscar De La oya (39-6, 30 Ko), Lennox Lewis (41-2-1, 32 Ko) and Wladimir Klitschko (64-4, 53 Ko), nan non yon kèk, under legendary trainer Emanuel Steward. Kòm yon amatè, Lester was ranked nationally at number-two. He competed against the likes of future Olympian Andre Dirrell (24-2, 16 Ko) and future WBC Super Middleweight Champion Anthony Dirrell (28-1-1, 22 Ko) while in the amateur ranks. The bout with Berry will mark the second time Lester has ventured to New England in his professional career. He competed on a card in Worcester, Massachusetts in 2011. Lester looks forward to making his return to the region.

Fighting Brandon will be exciting, and I’m ready for anything he has to bring,” said Lester. “Fighting in New England was awesome a few years ago against Ryan Kielczewski (24-1, 7 Ko). I met some real good people there and can’t wait to come put on a show for them again.

GLOVER AND WILLIAMS TO FACE OFF FOR NEF GOLD

Lewiston, Maine (Fevriye 1, 2016) - New England Goumen (Nef), Nimewo-yon sèl batay pwomosyon rejyonal Amerik la, pral kenbe evènman pwochen li yo, "nèf 21: THE IMMORTALS” this Samdi, Fevriye 6, 2016 nan Androscoggin Bank Colisee la nan Lewiston, Maine. The fight card is scheduled to feature both mixed martial arts (Mma) and professional boxing bouts. Earlier today, the promotion announced the addition of an amateur light heavyweight championship bout to the card. Ryan Glover (2-1) will face Mike Williams (1-0) for the inaugural NEF amateur 205-pound title.

Prior to competing in MMA, Ryan Glover was a standout dual sport athlete at Mountain Valley High School in Rumford, Maine. A state champion wrestler, Glover made his biggest mark on the football field where he was named the “Football Player of the Year” by the Lewiston Sun Journal in 2010.

Ane pase a, Glover faced Billy “Bigfoot” Leahy (3-1) for the NEF amateur heavyweight championship. Glover lost a close decision in an exciting, hard-hitting physical contest. Koulye a,, faster and more agile at a lower weight, Glover has his sights set on finally achieving NEF gold.

“The weight cut has not been fun, but has gone easier than expected,” stated Glover, when asked about his cut down to 205-pounds. “I feel a lot better as I approach 205 and I think I’ll like fighting at this weight. It’s going to be bittersweet to hold the belt at 205. I lost a close slugfest last June simply because I didn’t stick to our game plan. I dropped the ball that night and you can rest assured that’s not going to happen again. I hope Williams has been training as hard as I have, paske, if so, it’s going to be a fight that no one wants to miss. I’ll see you February 6th and don’t be late—this is a show worth traveling 1000 miles for.”

Mike Williams took a collective gasp out of the Androscoggin Bank Colisee when he came out guns blazing in his debut at “NEF XX: A HISTORY OF VIOLENCE” last November. Williams, a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) blue belt and member of Central Maine Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (CMBJJ) nan Auburn, blasted fellow newcomer Joe Krech (0-1) out of the gate before securing a fight-ending armbar in a spectacular 26-seconds into the first round. The dizzying debut was enough to earn the impressive young Williams a shot at NEF gold.

“This fight is just another step and he’s in the way,” stated Williams flatly when asked for comment.

“This is another Easter egg of a fight on a star-studded card that is destined to deliver for the whole night,"Deklare nef ko-pwopriyetè ak promoteur Matt Peterson. “When I look at this fight and the skill sets that both Ryan and Mike bring to the cage, I get goose bumps. Both are athletic, agresif, young and hungry guys that want to turn heads when they compete—and will stop at nothing to win. Based on what I’ve witnessed in their fights so far, I don’t see an ounce of quit in either fighter. I can’t wait to watch the way this one goes down on Saturday.”

SIZE AND POWER MEET TECHNIQUE IN NEF 21 BOXING MAIN EVENT

Lewiston, Maine (Janvye 5, 2016) - New England Goumen (Nef), Nimewo-yon sèl batay pwomosyon rejyonal Amerik la, pral kenbe evènman pwochen li yo, “Nef 21: Imortèl yo” sou Samdi, Fevriye 6, 2016 nan Androscoggin Bank Colisée nan nan Lewiston, Maine. The fight card is scheduled to feature both mixed-martial-arts (Mma) and professional boxing bouts. Earlier today, NEF announced the main event of the professional boxing portion of the “Nef 21” kat batay. Northeast Junior Welterweight Champion Brandon “Cannon an” Berry (10-1) will take on the undefeated Tollison Lewis (2-0) in a super welterweight contest scheduled for six rounds.

This is a classic battle of size and strength against technique,” said NEF co-owner and promoter Nick DiSalvo. “In one corner you have a polished boxer with a solid amateur background in the form of Brandon Berry, and he will be fighting in a heavier weight class in this bout. In the other corner you have a powerful brawler with an MMA background in the form of Tollison Lewis, and he has fought most of his career at 155 and 170-pounds. You can’t script a better contrast in styles for a bout like this. Just about anything could happen. It’s anyone’s fight. It’s going to be wild in the Colisee when this one goes off.

Berry is coming off what many consider to be the defining win of his still-young professional career over gritty Mexican veteran Roberto Valenzuela (73-70-2) last November at “Nef XX.” Despite suffering a bad cut above his eye early in the fight, Berry maintained his composure and looked sharp on his way to a unanimous decision victory in the first eight-round fight of his career. The West Forks, Maine native was a 2013 Northern New England Golden Gloves champion as an amateur. The fight with Lewis is expected to be the last Berry will compete in above his usual 140-pound junior welterweight division.

It’s great to be getting back in action inside the ring so soon, especially after suffering such a nasty cut over my eye from my last fight in November,” said Berry. “Thank you NEF for putting yet another very tough opponent in front of me. Tollison is a class act in and out of the ring, and I think our styles will make a crowd pleasing bout. I remember being undefeated still and I know how important keeping the ‘0’ on the record is. Tollison is a big, strong athlete and I’m sure he will be more than prepared. Both him and I understand competition, and will most likely be friends after this event. I’m glad to be sharing this main event fight with him, and may the best man win!”

Tollison Lewis’s foray into the boxing world was unplanned. Nan mwa Oktòb 2014, just 24-hours prior to the start of the firstNEF Boxing” evènman, Lewis stepped in to face boxing veteran John Webster (8-7-1) after Webster’s previous opponent fell out. NEF executives, familiar with Lewis’s striking prowess in his MMA bouts, asked Lewis to take the fight at the last minute and Lewis did not hesitate to oblige. He went on to bully Webster for four rounds, (including knocking Webster out of the ring onto the timekeeper’s table), scoring a unanimous decision victory. This past November, in yet another dominant performance in the NEF boxing ring, Lewis stopped Zenon Herrera (0-1) with a third-round TKO. A win over a boxer of Berry’s caliber, pa gen dout, would propel Lewis to the next level in the sport. Lewis is a member of Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (CMBJJ) in Lewiston where he trains under boxing coach Scott Frost.

Brandon is a tough guy and a good boxer,” Di Lewis. “I’m expecting a war. I’ll be bringing everything I got, and I know he will too, but I’m planning on staying undefeated. I’m not going to run my mouth. I have a lot of respect for Berry, but fans do not want to miss this. This fight will be a war and steal the night. Thank you NEF and Brandon, let’s do it man!”

The fight card is scheduled to feature both mixed-martial-arts (Mma) and professional boxing bouts. Earlier today, NEF announced the main event of the MMA portion of the fight card. Both Boyington and Lemke are veterans of the United States Marine Corps (USMC).

Boyington is riding high on a three-fight win streak. Earlier this fall, li te fè premye l 'sou sèn nan nasyonal, bat Rodrigo Almeida (13-3) sou yon Seri Mondyal la nan Goumen (WSOF) card in Connecticut. Boyington followed up that win with a decisive third-round TKO victory over Jimmy Davidson (7-2) mwa pase a nan “Nef XX” in a successful defense of his title.

The bout is one that Maine fight fans have waited a long time to see. Boyington and Lemke have stood atop the NEF lightweight division together for several years now, their careers paralleling one another. With Lemke competing out of Marcus Davis’ Ekip Ilandè nan Brewer ki tou pre, Maine, rival li a kwa vil-a Mma Young nan, Boyington and Lemke seemed like natural rivals. But they often passed like ships in the night, and the stars never aligned for an encounter between the two. That was until “Nef XX” mwa pase a lè, jis moman anvan Boyington pran nan kalòj la kont Davidson, Lemke venkr Matt Denning (2-1) in that evening’s co-main event. It was an impressive performance that saw Lemke overwhelm a game Denning as the first round went on. With both Lemke and Boyington scheduled to appear on the February card, ak ni li te gen yon advèsè siyen, tan an te mi pou la “Batay pou Bangor,” kòm fanatik te ame li, finalman pran plas.

“Mwen se konsa èkstrèmeman rekonesan ak eksite yo dwe goumen pou nef yon lòt fwa ankò epi sitou yon opòtinite pou goumen pou tit la,” di Lemke. “Moun ki konnen m 'konnen ki sa istwa gen yon wout ki long sa a te pou m', which makes it all the more special. Bruce is the man and has done a phenomenal job promoting himself as champion, and in the process brought a lot of attention to the rest of the MMA community in the area. He has a couple of titles with different promotions and had fights on the national stage. He presents a unique and explosive set of challenges that I very much look forward to rising up and meeting that challenge head on. Sa a se pral yo dwe yon gwo batay ke fanatik yo pa ale nan vle manke, se konsa jwenn tikè ou ak vin sou desann.”

“Mwen pa konnen si gen nan nenpòt ki fanatik batay sèl mande nou sou yo wè plis pase yon sèl sa a,” exclaimed NEF co-owner and promoter Nick DiSalvo. “Li sanble tankou omwen yon fwa kèk yon semèn nou ap vin mesaj mande 'lè yo nou pral wè batay la pou Bangor ant Lemke ak Boyington?’ Oke, li nan pase souFevriye 6 at ‘NEF 21,’ ak tout moun nan òganizasyon nou an, se menm jan eksite kòm fanatik yo wè li!”

“Istwa a tounen nan bout sa a se enkwayab,” deklare nef ko-pwopriyetè ak promoteur Matt Peterson. “Se Pa gen anyen manifaktire – it’s completely authentic and gut wrenching. LAMONTE wè bagay byen yon fason diferan, e se sèten ke li pral defèt Randi pou yon dezyèm fwa nan nan “Nef 21.”

I’m excited to get back in there with Randi Beth for NEF 21,” Di LAMONTE. “Mwen soumèt li nan devan fanatik li yon fwa anvan, I sure don’t mind doing it again. Fwa sa a, mwen pral pèdi faktè a senpati kòm mwen wè ref la Indirect, epi mwen pral jis ale nan fini an 100%. Li ta dwe remèsye m 'ak ref la ke li pa te pase tout nwit lan ak yon sèl men. Mwen te kapab fè yon espò pòv ak di yon bagay kèk sou Randi, kòm li te ak fanatik li genyen sou m 'ak fini an, men manman m 'te moutre m' pi bon pase sa.Fevriye 6th, I will prove, ankò, ki avyon de gè a pi bon se nan kalòj la nef.”
