The winners of Shlemenko vs. Vasilevsky and Emeev vs. Falcao will advance to the M-1 Grand Prix middleweight championship later this year.

ST. PETERSBURG, Rusia (Ianuarie 20, 2016) – M-1 Global President Vadim Finkelchtein recently announced the relaunching of its popular series, M-1 Grand Prix Tournament.
“We’ve been preparing this a long time and now we’re happy to officially announce our 2016 M-1 Grand Prix Tournament,” Finkelchtein said. “This has been a very popular format and fans are always excited about it. This time we will feature a 4-man tournament, rather than the usual 8-man pairings, because the 4-man version is faster and more entertaining. We don’t want to bore people with long expectation periods and lessen the risk of occasional injuries and fighter changes in the tournament.”

M-1 Global signs Undefeated welterweight prospect Alexey Kunchenko

ST. PETERSBURG, Rusia (Ianuarie 11, 2016) – M-1 Global has announced its signing of undefeated Russian welterweight prospect Alexey Kunchenko (12-0-0, M-1: 4-0-0) pentru un contract de promovare exclusivă.
The 31-year-old Kunchenko, fighting out of Tyumen, Rusia, has a Muay Thai foundation. Representing the Boets Club, Kunchenko has nine knockouts, along with two submission and one decision victory.

ST. PETERSBURG, Rusia (Decembrie 15, 2015) – M-1 Global has announced its signing of Russian heavyweight sensation Alexander “Drago” Volkov (24-6-0, M-1: 8-3-0) pentru un contract de promovare exclusivă.
Volkov will battle Denis Smoldarev (11-1-0, M-1: 7-1-0) Februarie 19 for the vacant M-1 Challenge heavyweight championship at M-1 Challenge 64 în Moscova, Rusia.
The 27-year-old puncher from Moscow returns to the organization in which he made his professional mixed-martial-arts debut April 19, 2009, needing only 80-seconds to stop Nikolay Pleshokov in the second stage of the M-1 Challenge 2009. Volkov went on to capture top honors in the finals of the M-1 Challenge 2009, înfrângerea Ibragim Magomedov for the Russian Team Championships.

In his first fight of 2013, Volkov lost his Bellator heavyweight title in his first defense, as fellow countryman Vitaly Minakov recorded a first-round knockout in Atlantic City, New Jersey, STATELE UNITE ALE AMERICII.
