ST. PETERSBURG, Rusland (Augustus 22, 2017) – M-1 Global will promote the first international mixed-martial-arts event in Republic of Tatarstan history, September 23, as Kazan, Russia hosts M-1 Challenge 83: Tatfight 5.

The main event of the evening will be a light heavyweight bout between American invader Brandon “Stier” Halsey (9-3-0, M-1: 0-1-0), the two-time Bellator champion, en Mikhail Ragozin (8-2-0, M-1: 3-0-0), a National Pankration champion of Russia who is also a pupil of legendary Russian MMA fighter Alexander Shlemenko.

The inaugural M-1 Challenge Flyweight Championship will be contested as the two Grand Prix finalists, Ukrainian MMA National Champion Alexander Doskalchuk (7-1-0, M-1: 1-0-0) takes on Russian Vadim “slechte Kerstman” Malygin (11-2-1, M-1: 2-1-1), who is a multiple regional champion in hand-to-hand combat and kickboxing.

Also scheduled to fight on the growing M-1 Challenge 83 card is Georgian champion Raul Tutarauli (17-3-0, M-1: 5-1-0) against multiple Russian Army hand-to-hand combat champion Vladimir Kanunnikov (8-0-0, M-1: 0-0-0) in an M-1 Challenge lightweight eliminator to determine the No. 1 mededinger.

The Republic of Tatarstan will be represented at this event by the best fighters from Kazan City, inclusief 2015 & 2016 Republic of Tatarstan MMA champion Ruslan Khisamutdinov, representing the “Divizion” Fight Club, two-time Republic of Tatarstan and Volga Federal District MMA champion Kirill Kuzmin, representing the “Bars Profi” Fight Club, Kyokushin Karate prize-winning Russian champion and winner of the TATFIGHT tournament in Kyokushin Karate, Lenar Suleymanov.

Viewing fans of the event will watch more than a dozen spectacular battles featuring many of the best MMA fighters from Russia, VS, Brazilië, Duitsland, Oekraïne, Kazakhstan and Georgia.

SINT PETERSBURG, Rusland (Juni 28, 2017 – M-1 Global has announced a sensational heavyweight shodeown between two International stars, Sergei “De Paratrooper” Kharitonov en Geronimo “Mondragon” Dos Santos, at the July 22^nd M-1 Challenge 81: Strijd in de bergen 6, to be held in the Republic of Ingushetia.

The international MMA event will coincide with the 25^th anniversary celebration of the Republic of Ingushetia.

The M-1 Challenge bantamweight championship fight between defending champion Pavel Vitruk (14-2-0), and interim titlist Movsar Evloev (7-0, M-1: 7-0) had been previously announced for M-1 Challenge 81.

The two giant heavyweights fighting on the card are each world ranked by Fightmatrix, both preferring early endings as they have 40 combined knockouts. This exciting duel is a fitting addition for such a grand tournament like M-1 Challenge 81: The Battle of the Mountains 6.

Russian strongman Kharitonov (24-6-0, M-1: 4-0-0) is coming off a devastating, one-punch knockout of American Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou in the opening round of their main event fight, Juni 15 in China, bij M-1 Challenge 80. ST. PETERSBURG, Rusland (Maart 31, 2017) – M-1 Global president Vadim Finkelchtein (hierboven afgebeeld) has announced five M-1 Challenge events to be held this May and June.

Below is a Q & A with the veteran MMA promoter:

Can you tell us about plans for upcoming M-1 Global events?

VF: “In the next 2-3 months we will promote an extremely full schedule of events. Through the middle of Junie, we will promote five – I’m not afraid to use these words – grandiose tournaments. April 22nd there’s an event being held in Nazran, which was arranged with the support of the local government, and dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Ingushetia. Op Mei 19th, in collaboration with Rostec and Rosoboronexport corporations, we will hold a truly spectacular event in Sochi. Our traditional tournament in Orenburg is set for May 26th, which regularly takes place at the highest level with a crowded venue. Op Junie 1st, we will hold another event in St. Petersburg as part of the International Enconomic Forum program. And already on Junie 15 – A major tournament will be held June 15^th in Harbin, China, during the program of the Russian-Chinese Enxpo. Both in St. Petersburg and China, we are included in the official program, so we will be participating in truly large-scale events.”

Fans are interested in fighters whose performances will decorate these tournaments. Can you reveal some of the competing fighters?

VF: “We will really surprise the audience at these events. A lot of negotiations are ongoing, including those with fighters who are the TopP-20 ranked fighters in the world. There will also be fights involving new fighters. Natuurlijk, we intend to make fights that fans have been waiting for a long time. One is the is the Idrisov vs. Buchinger rematch and, natuurlijk, probably the most anticipated fight in Russian MMA today, Shlemenko vs Enmeev.”

The fight between Alexander Shlemenko and Ramazan Enmeev had already been postponed twice. What prevents this fight from being canceled for the third time?

VF: “The desire of the two fighters can play the major role here. Enverything has been done on our side. Alexander Shlemenko is ready for this fight. We’re waiting word back from Ramazan Enmeev. This fight is interesting for fans and we will try to make it happen. People are starting to understand more and more about MMA and we are making fights that our fans want to happen. Not only does this apply to Shlemenko en Enmeev. but for other popular fighters as well, including undefeated M-1 welterweight champion Alexey Kunchenko, top lightweight Artiom Damkovsky, Damir Ismagulov, Sergey Romanov en vele anderen. We try to sign contracts with only fighters who want to be in spectacular fights. Look at the last events in Moscow. Were any of the 11 fights boring? Niet Doen! Enven in undercard matches we have fighters who deliver exciting fights and often early finishes. This is the hallmark of our promotion. We do not hold uninteresting events or boring fights.”

Vandaag, many promotions sign fighters who were fired from UFC. Why are you not doing this?

VF: “Certainly in that way. If fighters are interesting to the Russian public and well known, we will sign him. Anders, I believe that it is wrong to sign, bij wijze van spreken, cast-off fighters. This will not add credibility and strengthen our organization in the MMA world. We do that a different way. We build stars that UFC chases. It may be more difficult but M-1 is more respected by the West for doing it this way. We do not make easy fights for anybody. Marcin Tybura, Rashid Magomedov, Mairbek Taisumov, Alexey Oleinik, Islam Makhachev, Alexander Volkov, etc. All of them are our former fighters. They were not known at the beginning of their careers but now they are all doing excellent. Fighters of the other promoters who moved in UFC are often fired after a while because, here in Russia, they did not face tough opposition.”

How do you fight the departure of your fighters to the West?

VF: “Hier, I disagree with you. It used to be that way. Nu, to the contrary, many fighters want to perform in M-1 because it is no less prestigious than performing for Bellator, where the emphasis is on the show. Example of this are Alexander Shlemenko, Sergei Kharitonov, and others. These warriors gladly come to us and agree to fight here because the opposition in M-1 is not weak. Natuurlijk, regarding the departure of the fighters to the West, money plays a great role. But there are fighters who are grateful to M-1 for fame they gained. We paved the road to a greatness for them and, bijgevolg, they do not rush to leave M-1 anywhere.”

ST. PETERSBURG, Rusland (Februari 2, 2017) – de februari 18^th M-1 Challenge 74 kaart in St. Petersburg werd nog interessanter met de aankondiging van M-1Global dat een gevecht tussen fans van aartsrivaal Russisch voetbal (niet-Amerikaans voetbal) teams strijden in volledige teamkleuren.

In het main event, ongeslagen M-1 Challenge licht zwaargewicht kampioen Rashid Joesoepov (6-0-0, M-1: 4-0-0), van Rusland, verdedigt zijn titel tegen voormalige titlist Stephan “T-800” Puetz (15-2-0, M-1: 6-1-0), Duitsland.

M-1 Challenge lichtgewicht kampioen Alexander “Iron Capture” Butenko (42-11-2, M-1: 9-1-0) gezichten uitdager Abukar Yandiev (8-1-0, M-1: 2-1-0) in deM-1 Challenge 74 co-feature.

Aangekondigd als het eerste MMA-gevechtsonderdeel van een groot evenement met MMA-vechters die ook fans zijn van twee van de beste voetbalclubs in Rusland, CSKA en Spartak, vechten tussen de touwen om de sterkste voetbalfan te bepalen volgens de MMA-regels, niet op straat.

Licht zwaargewicht Dmitry Tebekin (4-2-0, M-1: 0-0-0), vertegenwoordigen CSKA, zal neergooien tegen Spartak-fan Arthur Reig Tjul'parov (1-0-0, M-1: 1-0-0). Tebekin was de St. Petersburg Cup winnaar en vice-kampioen van St. Petersburg, terwijl Tjul'parov ook vice-kampioen was van St. Petersburg evenals de derde plaats in de All-Russian Grand Prix
