71st annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship Central N.E. quarterfinals results from Lowell

LOWELL, มวล. (มกราคม 27, 2017) – The red-hot action continued in last night’s quarterfinals round of the 71st annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship of the Central New England (Greater Lowell) division as men’s and women’s open and novice matches were held in front of another great and exceedingly loud crowd at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
Judges were very busy as all 10 exciting bouts, including a Junior Olympic match and two non-tournament bouts, went the complete distance. Individual standouts included a pair of open division boxers, นักมวยปล้ำ Michael Fontanez, of Nashua (N.H.), และ Methuen (แมสซาชูเซต) มิดเดิ้ล Yarmarco Guzman. A representative of Nashua, PAL, Fontanez is a slick, hard hitting southpaw who shutout, 5-0, a very tough Kenny Larson, of Salem (แมสซาชูเซต). Guzman, boxing out of Canal Street Gym, looked like a veteran boxer on his way to a 5-0 shutout win over Lowell’s Julien Baptiste.

LOWELL, มวล. (กุมภาพันธ์ 26, 2016) – Western New England dominated the open class finals of the New England Tournament of Champions, part of the 70th annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship, winning seven of 10 matches last night at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
The eight men’s individual open class winners earned spots on Team New England for the 2016 National Golden Gloves Championships, พฤษภาคม 16-21, in Salt Lake City, รัฐยุทา. Team New England includes two of the top ranked boxers in the country, มวยรุ่นไลท์ เอลวิสฟิเกอรัว and light welterweight Jaime Ortiz Rodriguez (repeat NE champion), both members of N.E. open class team champion from Western NE. “In the last 10 ปี,” explained New England Golden Gloves Executive Director Bobby Russo, “we hadn’t been on a good run. Attendance dropped off a little each year. There was a younger crowd and many novice boxers had good fan bases, which we need to build up every year. We had a lot of good fights and good boxers this year. Boxing is back in Lowell! “Team New England will be very strong. We have a young team but many of these boxers have a lot of invaluable experience from Junior Olympics competition, from heavyweight on down. I think we have an impressive team that will do very well at The Nationals this year.”
Team champions were Western N.E. in the open class, Central N.E. in the novice class.

NOVICE CLASS FINALS RESULTS FROM LOWELL
LOWELL, มวล. (กุมภาพันธ์ 19, 2016) – Fourteen 2016 New England Tournament of Champions winners were crowned last night in the novice class of 70th annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
Team Central produced the most individual winners with seven, followed by Team Western with five, and Team Central had two.
The unofficial fight of the night was between Salem, แม่น้ำหนักนักมวยปล้ำ Kenny Larson (Team Central) and his Dorchester, MA opponent Jarrod LoMax (Team Southern), in which Larson won a three-round decision, 3-2.
พอร์ตแลนด์, ME bantamweight Christian Morales (Team Northern) continued his performance run in the tournament, winning a three-round decision, 5-0, over hometown Lowell favorite Marquis Fowler (Team Central) โมราเลส’ impressive showings in the tournament will lead him into an open division spot in next week’s New Englands.
In a Central N.E. (Greater Lowell) heavyweight final rematch, due to a round-time issue, Methuen’s Jesus Flores (Canal Street Boxing) defeated Haverhill’s John Roche (Haverhill Downtown Boxing) by the same score as their original match in another thrilling, back-and-forth bout ending a in three-round decision (5-0). The crosstown rivalry between the two gyms and boxers led up to another compelling match with Flores qualifying for วันพุธ night’s open class semifinals of the New England Tournament of Champions.

LOWELL, มวล. (กุมภาพันธ์ 11, 2016) – Team Central had the edge in last night’s novice class semifinals of the New England Tournament of Champions, part of the 70th annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship, at Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
Team Central had five individual winners, followed by Team South and Team West with three victories and Team North had two. The novice class finals of the N.E. Tournament of Champions will be held วันพฤหัสบดี, กุมภาพันธ์. 18 at Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
The Fight of the Night was the light heavyweight match of the novice class as Team South’s Henry Ventura (ไม่มีข้อความ. LOWELL, มวล. (กุมภาพันธ์ 5, 2016) – Peter Welch’s Gym in South Boston dominated last night’s Central New England (Greater Lowell) championship final round of the 70th annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship, open and novice classes, at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
Peter Welch’s Gym had seven winners last night: open – Hyde Park welterweight Jennifer Perella and Brookline light welterweight อับราฮัมโนวา; novice – Dorchester lightweightJonathen DePina และมิดเดิ้ล ไบรอันอเรนซ์, East Boston lightweight Claire Duffy light welterweight, Boston light welterweight Katie Gregory and Franklin heavyweight Jared Gately.
Lowell West End Gym and Grealish Boston had the second-most winners last evening with two apiece.
Last night, 15 matches went the distance, including several upsets, along with one technical knockout and a two walkovers.
All CNE finals winners qualified to compete in the upcoming New England Tournament of Champions, also held at Lowell Memorial Auditorium, ที่เริ่มต้น next Thursday night with the semifinals of the novice division.
