LAS VEGAS (Août 22, 2017) – Ancien champion du monde Juan Carlos Payano (19-1, 9 KOs) scored an impressive decision victory over Alexis Santiago (24-5-1, 8 KOs) dans l'événement principal dePremier Champions de boxe MARDIS TOE-to-toe sur FS1 et Champions de boxesur FOX Sports, Mardi night from Sam’s Town Live in Las Vegas and presented by Mayweather Promotions.
Payano set the pace early, closing the distance with Santiago and delivering consistent flurries of punches. Santiago was unable to keep Payano from charging forward early and seemed focused on landing a big counter.
The fight was defined by its rough nature and constant fighting on the inside. This led to a cut above Payano’s left eye after round three, but his corner was able to manage it and the cut was never a problem.
“I felt like I was winning every single round,” said Payano. “There were small moments on the inside that I gave away but I think I did the better work each round.”
Santiago had moments in the fight and landed big right hands late in the fourth and fifth rounds that got Payano’s attention, but the former champion was able to throw back with high volume and regain control of the fight.
“The strategy was to wear him down and then really try to walk him down and take him out,” said Payano. “Santiago was a little too tough for his own good so I kept some distance at times and controlled the fight.”
“I felt the long layoff when I got in there,” a déclaré Santiago. “I was a little tight and I loaded up too much instead of using my speed.”
Even when Santiago was able to corner Payano, the slippery fighter was able to fight his way off the ropes and turn the tide back in his favor. After the end of 10 rounds of super bantamweight action all three judges’ saw the fight in Payano’s favor by scores of 100-90 et 99-91 deux fois.
“I want my titles back,” said Payano. “I don’t care who is holding which titles at 118 et 122 livres. I’ll fight anyone and show I’m still a champion.”
“I thought the fight was a little closer,” a déclaré Santiago. “He did more work than me but I thought I had good moments. I wanted to box him a little more but I couldn’t find my range so I just tried to close down the gaps. We just have to go back to the drawing board and stay more active. I want to get a tune-up fight then get right back to fighting top guys.”
The co-main event saw once-beaten Ladarius Miller (14-1, 4 KOs) score a unanimous decision victory over 2012 U.S.. Olympien Jamel Herring (16-2, 9 KOs) in their 10-round lightweight bout.
The southpaws began the fight carefully, with Miller looking to establish his jab while Herring showed great movement early and tried to catch Miller in the pocket. The exchanges picked up in round two, although both men were still primarily throwing one punch at a time.
“I know I out-jabbed him,” dit Miller. “When we jabbed each other, I thought my jab was stronger than his. I gave him two different styles. There were times where I walked him down and times where I boxed him.”
Miller began to pick up the aggressiveness in round three, following up his jab with a straight left hand over the top that snapped Herring’s head. Herring continued to focus on his movement and mixed-in good body work several times to finish off exchanges.
In round five Herring began to plant himself inside and looked to counter Miller, but was unable to do enough clean work to get the attention of the judges as Miller continued to throw back with left hands and movement that occasionally frustrated Herring.
“Je pensais qu'il était un combat rapproché,” Saïd Herring. “I thought when I came forward and pressed the fight he started retreating and moving.”
Both men squared-off in the center of the ring for the final three rounds, as each looked to deliver a shot that would seal the fight in their favor. The flurry of action led to judges’ disagreements on all three of the final action-packed rounds.
In the end it was Miller’s consistent work throughout the fight that got him the nod from all three judges by scores of 98-92 et 97-93 deux fois.
“Je pensais 97-93 was the right score,” dit Miller. “I took it easy in round nine and felt him out in the first two rounds. But the rest of the fight I felt like I dominated. It’s a process. I’m just climbing the ladder right now. I want to get another test and fight more strong fighters. I want to be on the biggest stages. I’m ready for the step up.”
“I thought I landed some heavy shots in there and was more aggressive,” Saïd Herring. “Obviously the judges saw it differently. I’ll get back with my team and see what’s next, but I did think I won the fight. I thought I won the last two rounds and pulled it out.”

Payano versus Santiago replaces the previously announced main event that featured a lightweight match between Mickey Bey and Anthony Peterson that was cancelled after Bey was injured in training.

I’m ready to put on a great performance and get the big fights that I want. I’m looking forward to once again reigning supreme in this division. “I’ve been staying steady with training camp and everything has been really smooth,” a déclaré Santiago. “After my last fight I took a few months off to let my body heal and I feel much better going into this fight. The two-time Dominican Olympian Payano began his path towards another world title with a stoppage of Isao Gonzalo Carranza in January, after first becoming a champion via a technical decision over Anselmo Moreno in September 2014. The accomplished amateur won gold at the 2006 Central American and Caribbean games with victories over McJoe Arroyo and Yoandris Salinas. He defeated Jundy Maraon, Jose Silveria and Luis Maldonado on the way to his title shot and engaged in a pair of exciting fights with Rau’shee Warren that saw him defend his title in August 2015 and lose in June 2016.
Un pro depuis 2009, the 26-year-old Santiago had won ten consecutive bouts before dropping a decision to Jose Cayetano in his last contest. The Phoenix-native defeated Gustavo Molina, Javier Gallo and Antonio Tostado Garcia in 2015 and and has also taken down once-beaten fighters Alex Rangel and Hanzel Martinez. He will make his 2017 debut against one of his most experienced foes to date in Payano.
An amateur standout who won a 2012 Amateur National Championship the same year as his Olympic run, Herring fights out of Cincinnati and is originally from Coram, New York. MIAMI, OKLAHOMA – Juillet 18, 2017 – Nobody told Rolando Chinea he was supposed to the “B-side,” when he upset Ladarius Miller, O'Shanique Foster, Mel Crossty, ou Samedi, when he handed Kenneth Sims Jr. (12-1, 4KO) sa première défaite.

The Super Lightweight prospect, who hails from Lancaster, Pennsylvanie, won a majority decision over Sims in the co-feature of Samedi night’s edition of SHOBOX: La Nouvelle Génération. Sims came out strong early in the fight, but Chinea was relentless, breaking down his opponent over eight rounds. Chinea dominated the last two rounds, and punch stats indicated that he landed more punches overall throughout the bout.

It was Chinea’s second Showtime outing, and Victory Boxing Promoter Chris Middendorf hopes to see him back on the network soon. “He’s shown that he’s willing to step up and face the best. He doesn’t shy away from an undefeated fighter, and he’s ready to get back in the ring on Showtime, and continue to show boxing fans what a real throw-back fighter looks like,” dit Middendorf.

Chinea, for his part, rated the performance a ‘B.’ “I am back in the gym and ready to improve. Every fight I learn something about myself and I am ready to put that experience to work for me.”

LAS VEGAS (Avril 29, 2017) – Champion poids plume par intérim WBA nouvellement couronné Claudio Marrero (22-1, 16 KOs) choqué auparavant invaincu Carlos Zambrano (26-1, 12 KOs) avec un KO au premier tour dans l'événement principal de Premier Champions de boxe sur FS1 et Fox Deportes, Samedi nuit de Sam's Town Live à Las Vegas.

Le co-événement principal de la télédiffusion FS1 et FOX Deportes s'est terminé par un TKO au sixième tour par un poids moyen affamé Nathaniel Gallimore (18-1-1, 15 KOs) de Kingston, Jamaïque à propos Jeison Rosario (12-1, 9 KOs) de Saint-Domingue, République dominicaine. Dans l'événement principal de la télédiffusion FS2 et FOX Deportes, perspective super légère Ladarius Miller (13-1, 4 KOs) faire une performance impressionnante avant de s'arrêter Jésus gutierrez (14-2-1, 4 KOs) dans le huitième et dernier tour de leur affrontement.
“je suis super content de ma prestation,” dit Miller. “C'est le meilleur Ladarius Miller que j'ai montré. Je le connaissais en tant que combattant donc je savais ce que je devais faire sur le ring. Je pensais l'avoir eu au premier tour avec l'uppercut, mais il était en bien meilleure forme que je ne le pensais. Il a pris les coups mais à la fin je savais que je finirais en tête avec la victoire. Je suis juste prêt à remonter sur le ring et à regarder vers mon prochain défi.”
Miller a éliminé Gutierrez avec une combinaison de mouvements et de mains gauches principales pour prendre le contrôle de la première partie du combat. Gutierrez a tenté de réduire la distance entre lui et Miller, mais a été incapable de rassembler suffisamment d'attaques pour ralentir son adversaire.
“Ce était un grand combat, Je pense que nous avons donné aux fans ce qu'ils voulaient voir,” dit Gutierrez. “Je n'ai que du respect pour Ladarius, Il est sorti ce soir et a montré de quoi il était fait. J'ai maintenu la pression et j'ai pensé que ce serait suffisant pour l'avoir.”
Plusieurs rafales de va-et-vient ont défini les deux derniers tours du combat avant que Miller ne puisse finalement utiliser une grosse main droite pour frapper Gutierrez et forcer l'arbitre Russell Mora à arrêter le combat à 2:34 au huitième tour.
Le combat d'ouverture sur FS2 et FOX Deportes a vu l'ancien champion du monde Layla McCarter(39-13-5, 10 KOs) dominer et finalement arrêter Szilvia Szabados (15-10, 6 KOs) au septième tour de leur combat des poids welters.
“J'ai vu au début du combat une opportunité, aller pour le corps et c'est ce que j'ai fait,” dit McCarter. “Elle a subi beaucoup de dégâts et était une adversaire coriace. J'ai senti que j'aurais pu le rendre beaucoup plus difficile, J'ai eu un si bon camp d'entraînement que j'aurais aimé pouvoir livrer le Layla que je sais pouvoir apporter.”
Szabados est sorti agressif dès le début, mais le concurrent vétéran McCarter l'a enlevée avec des coups de poing tout au long des premiers tours avant que Szabados ne commence à s'user et à devenir frustré.
“Elle était une grande adversaire pour moi, il y a certainement beaucoup plus de choses sur lesquelles je dois rentrer à la maison et travailler,” dit Szabados. “Global, elle est venue pour gagner et elle l'a montré. J'ai apporté beaucoup de ténacité, mais à la fin elle est arrivée en tête.”

Ladarius Miller Knocks out Ronald Rivas in a second round TKO

Las Vegas (Octobre 8) – The Uzbekistan-born Super Middleweight Ronald Gavril (17-1, 13 KOs) vaincu Christopher Brooker (11-2, 5 KOs) by way of TKO from Sam’s Town Live inside of Sam’s Town Hotel & Gambling Hall à Las Vegas, NV in the main event of Mayweather Promotions Sin City Showdown, the first installment of their monthly series of boxing at Sam’s Town Live.
From the second the bell rang it was non-stop action in the ring as Gavril and Brooker fought for the vacant NABF Super Middleweight title. Both fighters rolled out combination punches and uppercuts early in the rounds. Brooker fired off shots and Gavril was countering, neither fighter would let up. Dans le 5
e tour, Brooker landed a clean uppercut that had Gavril on the canvas and shook up. Gavril regrouped and returned with blows to Brooker, leading in a war of blood exchange.
It was a slugfest between these Super Middleweight fighters, which ultimately led to Gavril knocking Brooker down twice in the 10th round, defeating him and claiming the vacant NABF title.
“The guy was very very tough, but I came back to win,” said Gavril. “I trained extremely hard with my team and they prepared my body for this fight. My endurance really got me through this fight. I have to say the knockdown in the 5th round got me to refocus and get my mental toughness in gear.”
“He wouldn’t let up, but that didn’t stop me from getting the title. I only had one goal coming into this fight, and I accomplished it, I am the new champion.”
“I was extremely upset with the decision,” said Brooker. “I go hard in every fight and this fight was no different. The judges had the scores as a draw so I feel like I was going to get robbed any way. There wasn’t a three knockdown rule, so I just didn’t understand why the judges called it so pre-maturely. “The judges should have let me continue fighting, this was a title fight, not a regular match. I definitely thought the knockdown in the fifth round put me ahead, but I guess I was wrong.
“I am looking to fight anyone, whoever and whenever the next opportunity is for me to fight, Je vais le prendre. Si possible, I want the re-match against Gavril.”
The co-main event featured a pair of welterweight prospects that produced an exciting matchup, ultimately leading to second round TKO after only 55 seconds by Memphis-born Ladarius Miller (12-1, 3 KOs) contre Ronald Rivas (5-5-1 3 KOs).
“I am so happy with my performance,” dit Miller. “I am getting better and better with each fight, and this fight proved that my hard work and consistency in the gym and with my team is working.”

Sanjarbek “Guerre” Rakhmanov (6-0, 3 KOs) kept his record in tact in a 6-round action-packed bout against then-undefeated Jonathan Dinong (5-1, 4 KOs). Both fighters kept the pressure on, but Rakhmanov proved to be the better fighter going the distance and getting the win.
Samuel Santana (8-11-3, 2 KOs) won by way of disqualification in a Super Lightweight showdown against Jose Vargas (6-1, 4 KOs), giving the young prospect his first loss. Mayweather Promotions opening bouts resulted in wins by both prospects as, Xavier Martinez (5-0 2 KOs) vaincu Wilfredo Garriga (3-4-1 2 KOs) by unanimous decision in a six-round Super Featherweight match-up and Daniel Gonzalez (2-0) representing Las Vegas, NV stopped Sean Acosta (0-3-1) after four rounds of action winning by majority decision.

LAS VEGAS (Sept. 26, 2016) – Former title challenger Ashley “Trésor” Théophane (39-7-1, 11 KO) looks to redeem himself after a tough loss back in April as he headlines the main event of Mayweather Promotions Sin City Showdown, Samedi, 8 octobrede Sam's Town Live à Las Vegas.
