SAN ANTONIO (Septiembre 24, 2017) – Campeón mundial de peso crucero de la AMBYunier Dorticos (22-0, 21 KOs) retuvo su título y selló su lugar en las semifinales de peso crucero de la serie mundial de boxeo Sábado noche con un sensacional nocaut en la segunda ronda de Dmitri Kudryashov (21-2, 21 KOs) en su pelea de cuartos de final desde el Alamodome en San Antonio.
El invicto campeón Dorticos conectó un estruendoso volado justo después de que Kudryashov lanzara un jab de mirada durante un intercambio de segunda ronda y enviara al ruso a la lona.. Kudryashov intentó ponerse de pie., pero el árbitro Rafael Ramos había visto suficiente y terminó el combate en 2:10 en la segunda ronda.

Kayode nuevamente pudo continuar, pero encontró más problemas en las últimas rondas, ya que quedó aturdido al final de la octava ronda y tuvo un corte que comenzó antes en la pelea abierta al final de la novena ronda..
Después 10 rondas los jueces otorgaron a Tapia la decisión unánime por decenas de 100-89 dos veces y 99-90.
“Peleas como esta me llevarán al nivel de campeonato.,” dijo Tapia. “Siempre me sentí campeón desde que comencé en este deporte.. Estoy listo para enfrentar a cualquiera. Me tomaré un par de días libres y luego volveré al gimnasio.”
La acción adicional vio al ex campeón mundial de cuatro divisiones Nonito Donaire (38-4, 24 KOs) volver al ring y anotar una victoria por decisión unánime dominante sobre México Ruben Garcia Hernandez (22-3-1, 9 KOs) en su pelea de 10 asaltos por el título mundial de peso pluma de plata del CMB.
“Boxeé muy bien, que es algo que no he hecho en mucho tiempo,” dijo Donaire. “Moví bien mis piernas y las mantuve durante toda la pelea. Siempre he sido un boxeador agresivo, pero esta vez usé mi jab y combinaciones.. Tuve la necesidad de pelear y sentí que lo lastimé.. “Nonito era muy suave y se movía bien.,” dijo Hernández. “No pude llegar a él por eso. Se ajustó a todo lo que hice. Fue una decisión justa al final de la noche.. Pensé que iba a venir a pelear pero me cambió la estrategia. Pensé que luché duro y voy a trabajar duro para volver al ring.”
La agresividad de Hernández fue utilizada en su contra por Donaire, que esperaba a su oponente cargando y fue capaz de eliminarlo con una serie de ganchos y uppercuts.
Después de 10 rondas, los tres jueces vieron la pelea a favor de Donaire por decenas de 100-90, 99-91 y 97-93.

Usyk, 30, es el n. 1 WSBB seed and consensus pre-tournament favorite. The Ukrainian is a two-time Olympian who struck gold at the 2012 Olympics in London. The powerful southpaw captured the WBO cruiserweight world title September 17, 2016, taking a 12-round unanimous decision in Poland from the previously undefeated, defensor del título Krzysztof Glowacki (26-0). Usyk has made two successful world title defenses, stopping challenger Thabiso Mchunu (17-2) last December in the ninth round, and winning a 12-round unanimous decision this past April fromMichael Hunter (12-0).

Serbia-born Huck has two distinct advantages over Usyk: fighting at home in Berlin as well as being much more experienced against world-class opponents. The 32-year-old Huck is 13-4-1 (6 KOs) in world title fights and he has five victories against former or present world champions.
One of Huck’s four career losses as a professional, sin embargo, is to Glowacki, who lost the WBO title he won in 2015, by knocking out Huck in the 11º ronda, to Usyk a year ago.

His last fight was November 2016 when he battled Magdeleno for a junior featherweight world title in a bout that he lost by controversial decision. Hoping for a rematch that was never made, he partnered with Ringstar Sports looking to return to the top of the featherweight division. “I wouldn’t say I’m satisfied with the way my career is going. I can’t complain because I have no losses, I just wish it would go at a little faster pace. I’m a two-time Olympian and in the amateurs we’re used to fighting 4-5 times out of the week, so adjusting to fighting once every few months or so feels a little stagnant to me. I really try not to think too far into the future, I try to live in the moment, but I hope to get a title shot relatively soon.

“I went into training camp right after my last fight, so it’s been about eight weeks. There’s always ups and downs in training, but as long as you keep a positive spirit, everything will end up going perfectly well. So it’s been going good I can’t complain. I usually train out of the Mayweather Boxing Club, but there’s been some construction going on so we have moved it to Fight Capitol and a few other places.

“I have been changing my training just to better myself, not necessarily for my opponent or for this fight.

 

“You have to be a little more focused in the Mayweather Gym. There’s a lot of stuff that doesn’t really happen in a normal gym simply because he is Floyd so it will bring it out of you or it won’t. Only the strongest survive.”

 

Isiah Thomas

 

"Viernes is a good thing for up-and-coming, American cruiserweights. There are a lot of us in the division looking to make our mark. Not just myself. This is our chance to show that America has good fighters in the cruiserweight division. It’s the perfect showcase.

Like Tabiti, Tapia also had an outstanding amateur career.
Cazador, son of former heavyweight contender Michael Hunter Sr., is a two-time national amateur champion who competed at the 2012 Juegos Olímpicos. Since making his pro debut in March 2013 by defeating Chad Davis, the up-and-coming 27-year-old hasn’t come close to losing. He’s won his last four fights by knockout, all inside four rounds. TRENTON, Nueva Jersey (Diciembre 9, 2015) – Yenifel “Relámpago” Vicente (28-3-2, 20 KOs) derrotado Juan Dominguez (19-1, 13 KOs) por nocaut solo :20 en la tercera ronda deLiga de Campeones de Boxeo (PBC) MARTES TOE-TO-TOE en FS1 y BOXEO DE CAMPEONES por FOX Deportes evento principal de Sun National Bank Center en Trenton, Nueva Jersey.
Vicente abrió la pelea aterrizaje peces gordos que sacudieron Domínguez temprana. Vicente continuó aplicando presión a lo largo del primer cuadro, pero Domínguez regresó fuerte.
La primera parte de la segunda ronda ofrece que repite ganchos de izquierda de Vicente. Born in Santiago de los Caballeros, República Dominicana, pero peleando desde Brooklyn, Domínguez ve para terminar 2015 con su récord invicto intacto y 20 pro victorias en su haber.
