WOMEN’S FIGHT AT NEF 29 IS A MATTER OF RESPECT

PRESSMEDDELANDE: Lewiston, Maine (Maj 9, 2017) - “I wanna knock her out!” Those were the emphatic words of Alex Walker (3-1) when asked last weekend at “NEF 28” for her prediction on her upcoming fight with Sarah Ziehm (1-0). The crowd at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee erupted in response.

 

Walker and Ziehm are scheduled to face off when New England Fights (NEF) returns to the Colisee onLördag, Juni 17, 2017 with the fight promotion’s next event, “NEF 29: STARS & STRIPES.” Walker, a two-fight veteran of the NEF cage and a member of Lancaster, New Hampshire’s Team Kaze, has made it her mission to teach Ziehm a lesson in respect for what Walker viewed as a “cocky” performance in Ziehm’s debut earlier this year.

 

“I have respect for 99% of the females I do battle with, but I do not respect her,” said Walker when reached for comment. “I don’t like the way she handled herself in her first fight, I think she needs to be humbled and I will do that in June – if she even shows up! My manager told (NEF matchmaker) Matt Peterson to have a backup because she will come up with an excuse not to get a beating.”

 

Ziehm made her MMA debut last February with a win over Nicole Burgess (0-2). She submitted Burgess in the third round after a dominant performance. (Of note, Walker also submitted Burgess in the third round just a few months earlier.) Ziehm trains with Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (CMBJJ) i Lewiston.

 

“This will be a good battle,” predicted Ziehm. “Alex is a seasoned and skilled warrior. I’m not underestimating her at all. I’m excited to get back into cage and do some work.”

PRESSMEDDELANDE: Lewiston, Maine (Maj 5, 2017) -Nya England Fights (NEF) returns to the Androscoggin Bank Colisee on Lördag, Juni 17, 2017 with the fight promotion’s next event, “NEF 29: STARS & STRIPES.” The event will feature a full slate of mixed-martial-arts (MMA) and professional boxing bouts. Tidigare idag, NEF announced the addition of a professional featherweight bout to the fight card. Matt “Ken Doll” Denning (4-6) kommer att ta på Dominic “Domination” Jones (1-0) at a weight of 145-pounds. Both athletes are coming off wins last weekend at “NEF 28.”

 

Denning entered the cage six days ago looking to break a four-fight skid. The Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (CMBJJ) featherweight worked his ground game and submitted Josh Parker (5-9) with a Guillotine Choke in the first round. He donated a portion of his earnings for the fight to Derek Shorey’s (4-9) family members recently left homeless by a fire in Somersworth, New Hampshire. Denning has now vowed revenge for his teammate, Tollison Lewis (1-6), who fell to Jones last weekend, and he has committed to going undefeated for the remainder of the year.

 

“I’m excited to continue my fighting career with New England Fights,” nämnda Denning. “I’m coming for another win against someone who just TKO’d my teammate. He seems like a nice kid and a solid wrestler, but I’m a better striker and have far superior jiu-jitsu! I’m not losing again this year! See you guys June 17th.”

 

After a takedown early in the first round, Dom Jones was able to do exactly what his nickname says – dominate – against Tollison Lewis last Saturday night at “NEF 28.” Jones used his wrestling to smother Lewis, defending submission attempts in the process, and pounding a TKO win out of Lewis in the final minute of the first round. The bout was Jones’ first in Maine after a lengthy amateur career in his previous home state of Florida. Jones predicts that he will be the one walking away with a two-fight win streak on Juni 17.

 

“I’m excited for this match up,” stated Jones. “Wrestling versus jiu-jitsu! Än en gång, our gyms clash! It’s a good fight for me. Lewiston, Maine (Mars 1, 2017) – New England Fights (NEF) presenterar sin nästa blandade krigs-arts händelse “NEF 28: OÖVERVINNERLIG” på lördag, April 29, 2017 på Androscoggin Bank Colisee i Lewiston, Maine. The nature of the trash talking has turned personal, and Parker vows vengeance for what he sees as disrespect on Denning’s part.

“There comes a time in every fighter’s career that the fight has nothing to do with records or money,” Said Parker. “It’s to prove a point. My name has come out of this kid’s mouth too many times. På April 29th, I’m gonna shut it.”

PRESSMEDDELANDE: Lewiston, Maine (November 19, 2016) - New England Fights (NEF) held its latest mixed-martial-arts (MMA) händelse, “NEF 26: SUPREMACY” on Saturday night at the Androscoggin Bank Colisée in Lewiston, Maine. The promotion presented a total of 14 MMA bouts before a robust crowd of fight fans.

 

Blood flowed early and it continued to flow liberally throughout the night.

 

I huvud händelse av kvällen, Ryan Sanders (12-8) besegrade Jon Lemke (5-7) via unanimous technical decision. The fight was stopped in the third round when Lemke suffered a deep cut on his head. With the fight being in the third round, under the Unified Rules of MMA the judges’ scorecards were called upon for a verdict. Sanders won 20-18 på alla tre domare’ styrkort, having scored only the first two rounds.

 

The co-main event saw Josh Parker (5-8) submit Derek Shorey (4-8) in the first-round of a highly-anticipated “coach vs. tränare” slåss.

NEF 26 MMA CARD FEATURES WOMEN’S FIGHTS, TITLE FIGHTS, RETURNS, DEBUTS AND MORE

Lewiston, Maine (Oktober 21, 2016) – New England Fights (NEF) presenterar sin nästa blandade krigs-arts händelse, “NEF 26: SUPREMACY,” på lördag, November 19 at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee. Tidigare idag, NEF executives announced the full fight card for the event which will be the fight promotion’s grand finale for 2016.

 

I main event, “Den” Ryan Sanders (10-8) kommer att träffa Jon Lemke (5-6) in a professional lightweight bout. It will be Sanders’ first fight in Lewiston since November 2014. Much has been made of the fact that Sanders and Lemke are former teammates. The bout is considered a “dream match” by Maine fight fans, especially those from the Bangor-area familiar with the rivalry between Sanders’ camp Young’s MMA and Lemke’s camp Team Irish.

 

The co-main event of the evening will feature an interesting “coach vs. tränare” slåss. “Okrossbart 2,0” Derek Shorey (4-7), head of the Shatterproof Combat Club, is scheduled to face Ruthless MMA & Boxing founder Josh Parker (4-8) in a professional featherweight contest. Shorey is coming off a big win in Rhode Island earlier this fall, while Parker will be returning to the MMA cage after spending the last three years competing as a boxer.

 

Rounding out the professional portion of the card will be undefeated prospect Aron “Relentless” Lacey (3-0) och Taylor Trahan (6-6) i en fjäderlätt bout. Lacey and Trahan both submitted their respective opponents at “NEF 25” förra månaden. Jay Jack and Amanda Buckner’s The Academy in Portland, Maine will send two new fighters to the cage at “NEF 26.” Chad Pierce (0-0) will debut against Shatterproof’s Lyman Curtis (0-0), medan Phil Chiasson (0-0) möter Rik Seymour (0-0) of 3Ronin Athletics. Both bouts will take place in the 155-pound lightweight division.

SHATTERPROOF AND RUTHLESS IN MAINE TURF WAR AT NEF 26

Lewiston, Maine (Oktober 4, 2016) – New England Fights (NEF) presenterar sin nästa blandade krigs-arts händelse, “NEF 26: SUPREMACY,” på lördag, November 19 at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee. Parker is the head of Ruthless MMA & Boxing based in Benton, Maine. A regular in the NEF MMA cage during the early days of the promotion, Parker has spent the last several years competing in the boxing ring. He battled Elias Leland to a draw last November in a boxing bout at “NEF XX.” Parker predicts a finish in his long-awaited return to cage competition.

 

“I want to thank NEF for the opportunity and Derek for taking the fight,” Said Parker. “Jag är glad över att komma tillbaka i buren. I feel like I have a lot to prove. I will show up this time and I will finish this fight – don’t miss it!”

 

Derek Shorey, founder of the Shatterproof Combat Club at the Outlet in Dexter, Maine, is coming off a huge win in Rhode Island just over a week ago. It was the spark Shorey had been looking for after dropping his last four in a row in the NEF cage. Admittedly, Shorey is filled with both fear and excitement coming into the fight with Parker.

 

“This is a fight that has scared the crap out of me in the past,” declared Shorey. “Han är en stor, strong 145er that has good movement and boxing. Standing and trading could end horribly for either of us. His strength may be enough to keep my slams in check and I’m not a jits expert, so he can probably power out of whatever I throw at him. BOXERS LOOK TO GET ON THE WINNING TRACK AT NEF 22

Lewiston, Maine (Mars 29, 2016) - New England Fights (NEF), USA: s nummer ett regionalt kamp främjande, kommer att hålla sitt nästa evenemang, “NEF 22: Alla vägar leder HÄR” på Lördag, April 23, 2016 på Androscoggin Bank Colisée i Lewiston, Maine. The fight card will feature a mix of mixed-martial-arts (MMA) and professional boxing bouts. Tidigare idag, NEF announced the addition of a professional junior welterweight bout to the boxing portion of the “NEF 22” kampen kort. Josh Parker is the founder and head coach of Ruthless MMA & Boxing based in Benton, Maine. Prior to entering the boxing ranks, Parker was a regular in the NEF MMA cage. He boxed to a draw against fellow NEF MMA alum Elias Leland (0-0-1) last November in Lewiston. Senast, Parker dropped a decision to undefeated Julio Perez (4-0) on a boxing card in Rhode Island. He is hungry for his first victory as a professional boxer.

 

“I want to thank NEF for another opportunity to fight,” Said Parker. “I have a lot to prove. My skills have not been reflected in my past few performances. I’ve switched up some aspects of my training and I’m confident that I will finally be able to bring the real me to the ring. I will be facing an experienced opponent who will present some tough challenges for me – which is exactly what I wanted. The toughest opponent I’ve ever faced is myself, and now that I’ve figured him out, it doesn’t matter who’s standing in front of me.”

 

A veteran of more than twenty professional fights, Evincii Dixon has been one of the northeast’s most active boxers since his debut in the summer of 2013. Dixon, who calls Lancaster, Pennsylvania his home, often fights multiple times in a given month in places as far away as Texas, California and, senast, Ohio. He made the 500-mile trek to Lewiston, Maine last month, picking up a win in the NEF ring against Antonio Chaves Fernandez (7-26-3). Dixon will be looking to get back in the win column at “NEF 22” after a loss last weekend.

Medan matchen blir Parkers första boxningsmatch med NEF, he is no stranger to longtime fans of the promotion. Parker was a regular on NEF MMA cards during the early days of the company. He put together a record of 4-8 as a professional MMA competitor over the course of five years. Parker feels that he has found his true home not in the MMA cage, men i boxningsringen.

“Ruthless is different because I’m not in it for the money. I don’t take people who are just trying to get in shape or learn about MMA or boxing. We don’t do ‘classes.’ We fight, varje dag. I’m building a fight team. When we fight, Vi letar efter målgång.”

 

Oturligt nog för Parker, he has had some trouble finding boxing matches in the past year-and-a-half following the Berry fight. Lewiston, Maine (Oktober 23, 2015) - New England Fights (NEF), USA: s nummer ett regionalt kamp främjande, kommer att hålla sitt nästa evenemang, “NEF XX: A History of Violence” på Lördag, November 21, 2015 på Androscoggin Bank Colisée i Lewiston, Maine. Den professionella boxnings del av kortet kommer att rubricerade med Northeast Junior Welterweight Champion Brandon “The Cannon” Berry (9-1) in an eight-round bout against former Mexican Pacific Coast Super Featherweight Champion Roberto “The Old” Valenzuela (73-69-2, 56 Kos). Berry triumphantly returned to action last summer after suffering a severe shoulder injury in a November 2014 ände.

Middle Tollison Lewis (1-0) och Zenon “Ka'Bar” Herrera (0-0) will round out the boxing card. Lewis won his pro boxing debut in the first NEF boxing event in October 2014 över veteranen John Webster (8-7-1), medan Herrera, en erfaren MMA fighter och Kickboxer, är en nio-årig veteran av den amerikanska militären, Efter att ha avslutat många turer i Mellanöstern där han sågar striden i slaget vid Fallujah i Irak.
