WOMEN’S FIGHT AT NEF 29 IS A MATTER OF RESPECT

Voor onmiddellijke publicatie: Lewiston, Maine (Mei 9, 2017) - “I wanna knock her out!” Those were the emphatic words of Alex Walker (3-1) when asked last weekend at “NEF 28” for her prediction on her upcoming fight with Sarah Ziehm (1-0). The crowd at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee erupted in response.

 

Walker and Ziehm are scheduled to face off when New England Fights (NEF) returns to the Colisee onZaterdag, Juni 17, 2017 with the fight promotion’s next event, “NEF 29: STARS & STRIPES.” Walker, a two-fight veteran of the NEF cage and a member of Lancaster, New Hampshire’s Team Kaze, has made it her mission to teach Ziehm a lesson in respect for what Walker viewed as a “cocky” performance in Ziehm’s debut earlier this year.

 

“I have respect for 99% of the females I do battle with, but I do not respect her,” said Walker when reached for comment. “I don’t like the way she handled herself in her first fight, I think she needs to be humbled and I will do that in June – if she even shows up! My manager told (NEF matchmaker) Matt Peterson to have a backup because she will come up with an excuse not to get a beating.”

 

Ziehm made her MMA debut last February with a win over Nicole Burgess (0-2). She submitted Burgess in the third round after a dominant performance. (Of note, Walker also submitted Burgess in the third round just a few months earlier.) Ziehm trains with Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (CMBJJ) in Lewiston.

 

“This will be a good battle,” predicted Ziehm. “Alex is a seasoned and skilled warrior. I’m not underestimating her at all. I’m excited to get back into cage and do some work.”

Voor onmiddellijke publicatie: Lewiston, Maine (Mei 5, 2017) -nieuwe Engeland Fights (NEF) keert terug naar de Androscoggin Bank Colisee op Zaterdag, Juni 17, 2017 with the fight promotion’s next event, “NEF 29: STARS & STRIPES.” The event will feature a full slate of mixed-martial-arts (MMA) en professioneel boksen vlagen. Denning entered the cage six days ago looking to break a four-fight skid. The Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (CMBJJ) featherweight worked his ground game and submitted Josh Parker (5-9) with a Guillotine Choke in the first round. He donated a portion of his earnings for the fight to Derek Shorey’s (4-9) family members recently left homeless by a fire in Somersworth, New Hampshire. Denning has now vowed revenge for his teammate, Tollison Lewis (1-6), who fell to Jones last weekend, and he has committed to going undefeated for the remainder of the year.

 

“I’m excited to continue my fighting career with New England Fights,” zei Denning. “I’m coming for another win against someone who just TKO’d my teammate. He seems like a nice kid and a solid wrestler, but I’m a better striker and have far superior jiu-jitsu! I’m not losing again this year! See you guys 17 juni.”

 

After a takedown early in the first round, Dom Jones was able to do exactly what his nickname says – dominate – against Tollison Lewis last Saturday night at “NEF 28.” Jones used his wrestling to smother Lewis, defending submission attempts in the process, and pounding a TKO win out of Lewis in the final minute of the first round. The bout was Jones’ first in Maine after a lengthy amateur career in his previous home state of Florida. Jones predicts that he will be the one walking away with a two-fight win streak on Juni 17.

 

“I’m excited for this match up,” stated Jones. “Wrestling versus jiu-jitsu! Nogmaals, our gyms clash! It’s a good fight for me. Denning has worked to get where he is now, and I respect his work he has put in. I have to fight smart and not get caught. Zoals 17 juni, when that cage door closes, I’m walking out 2-0! Thank you NEF for having me again.”

THE TIME FOR TALK IS OVER, NOW IT’S TIME TO FIGHT!

The fight will mark the culmination of months of trash talking on social media between Denning and Parker’s camp. Denning, a member of Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Auburn, Maine and a veteran of the World Series of Fighting (WSOF) cage, will be looking to rebound from a loss to Ricky Dexter (1-0) vorige maand bij “NEF 27.”

Parker’s victory over Shorey last November marked his return to the MMA cage after a three-year absence. He spent the vast majority of that time competing in the boxing ring, yet it was a submission that Parker used to overcome Shorey. For Parker, the head of Ruthless MMA & Boxing based in Benton, Maine, the fight with Denning is not business as usual. The nature of the trash talking has turned personal, and Parker vows vengeance for what he sees as disrespect on Denning’s part.

“There comes a time in every fighter’s career that the fight has nothing to do with records or money,” Said Parker. “It’s to prove a point. My name has come out of this kid’s mouth too many times. Op 29 april, I’m gonna shut it.”

Voor onmiddellijke publicatie: Lewiston, Maine (November 19, 2016) - New England Fights (NEF) hield zijn nieuwste mixed-martial-arts (MMA) evenement, “NEF 26: SUPREMATIE” op zaterdagavond in de Androscoggin Bank Colisée in Lewiston, Maine. De promotie leverde in totaal 14 MMA-gevechten voor een stevige menigte vechtfans.

 

Bloed stroomde vroeg en het bleef de hele nacht royaal stromen.

 

In het main event van de avond, Ryan Sanders (12-8) verslagen Jon Lemke (5-7) via unaniem technisch besluit. Het gevecht werd in de derde ronde gestaakt toen Lemke een diepe snee in zijn hoofd opliep. Met het gevecht in de derde ronde, volgens de Unified Rules of MMA de juryleden’ scorecards werden opgeroepen voor een oordeel. Sanders heeft gewonnen 20-18 Op alle drie de rechters’ scorecards, alleen de eerste twee ronden hebben gescoord.

NEF 26 MMA CARD FEATURES WOMEN’S FIGHTS, TITLE FIGHTS, RETURNS, DEBUTS AND MORE

Lewiston, Maine (Oktober 21, 2016) – New England Fights (NEF) presenteert zijn volgende mixed-martial-arts-evenement, “NEF 26: SUPREMATIE,” op zaterdag, November 19 op de Androscoggin Bank Colisee. Eerder vandaag, NEF executives announced the full fight card for the event which will be the fight promotion’s grand finale for 2016.

 

In het main event, “De” Ryan Sanders (10-8) ontmoet Jon Lemke (5-6) in a professional lightweight bout. It will be Sanders’ first fight in Lewiston since November 2014. Much has been made of the fact that Sanders and Lemke are former teammates. The bout is considered a “dream match” by Maine fight fans, especially those from the Bangor-area familiar with the rivalry between Sanders’ camp Young’s MMA and Lemke’s camp Team Irish.

 

The co-main event of the evening will feature an interesting “coach vs. coach” strijd. “Onbreekbaar 2.0” Derek Shorey (4-7), head of the Shatterproof Combat Club, is scheduled to face Ruthless MMA & Boxing founder Josh Parker (4-8) in a professional featherweight contest. Shorey is coming off a big win in Rhode Island earlier this fall, while Parker will be returning to the MMA cage after spending the last three years competing as a boxer.

 

Rounding out the professional portion of the card will be undefeated prospect Aaron “Meedogenloos” Lacey (3-0) en Taylor Trahan (6-6) in een vedergewicht wedstrijd. Lacey and Trahan both submitted their respective opponents at “NEF 25” vorige maand. Many local followers of the sport feel that Lacey is just a handful of wins away from getting the call to the major league of the sport. The amateur portion of the card will be headlined by a heavyweight title fight between Nick “The Guardian” Gulliver (3-0) en Quilt DeCastro (2-2). DeCastro stepped up to the plate to face Gulliver when no other heavyweight in the region would do so. Gulliver has been on a path of destruction, ripping through three opponents in a combined two minutes.

SHATTERPROOF AND RUTHLESS IN MAINE TURF WAR AT NEF 26

Parker is the head of Ruthless MMA & Boxing based in Benton, Maine. A regular in the NEF MMA cage during the early days of the promotion, Parker has spent the last several years competing in the boxing ring. He battled Elias Leland to a draw last November in a boxing bout at “NEF XX.” Parker predicts a finish in his long-awaited return to cage competition.

 

“I want to thank NEF for the opportunity and Derek for taking the fight,” Said Parker. “Ik ben opgewonden om terug te krijgen in de kooi. I feel like I have a lot to prove. I will show up this time and I will finish this fight – don’t miss it!”

 

Derek Shorey, founder of the Shatterproof Combat Club at the Outlet in Dexter, Maine, is coming off a huge win in Rhode Island just over a week ago. It was the spark Shorey had been looking for after dropping his last four in a row in the NEF cage. Admittedly, Shorey is filled with both fear and excitement coming into the fight with Parker.

 

“This is a fight that has scared the crap out of me in the past,” declared Shorey. “Hij is een grote, strong 145er that has good movement and boxing. Standing and trading could end horribly for either of us. His strength may be enough to keep my slams in check and I’m not a jits expert, so he can probably power out of whatever I throw at him. BOXERS LOOK TO GET ON THE WINNING TRACK AT NEF 22

Lewiston, Maine (Maart 29, 2016) - New England Fights (NEF), Amerika's nummer een regionale strijd promotie, zal zijn volgende evenement te houden, “NEF 22: Alle wegen leiden HIER” op Zaterdag, April 23, 2016 bij de Androscoggin Bank Colisée in Lewiston, Maine. De strijd kaart zal een mix van mixed-martial-arts voorzien (MMA) en professioneel boksen vlagen. Eerder vandaag, NEF announced the addition of a professional junior welterweight bout to the boxing portion of the “NEF 22” strijd kaart. Josh Parker (0-2-1) is gepland te staan Evincii “Prize Fighter” Dixon (7-13-1, 2 KO) in een vier-ronde wedstrijd.

 

Josh Parker is the founder and head coach of Ruthless MMA & Boxing based in Benton, Maine. Prior to entering the boxing ranks, Parker was a regular in the NEF MMA cage. He boxed to a draw against fellow NEF MMA alum Elias Leland (0-0-1) last November in Lewiston. Meest recent, Parker dropped a decision to undefeated Julio Perez (4-0) on a boxing card in Rhode Island. He is hungry for his first victory as a professional boxer.

 

“I want to thank NEF for another opportunity to fight,” Said Parker. “I have a lot to prove. My skills have not been reflected in my past few performances. I’ve switched up some aspects of my training and I’m confident that I will finally be able to bring the real me to the ring. I will be facing an experienced opponent who will present some tough challenges for me – which is exactly what I wanted. The toughest opponent I’ve ever faced is myself, and now that I’ve figured him out, it doesn’t matter who’s standing in front of me.”

 

A veteran of more than twenty professional fights, Evincii Dixon has been one of the northeast’s most active boxers since his debut in the summer of 2013. Dixon, who calls Lancaster, Pennsylvania his home, often fights multiple times in a given month in places as far away as Texas, California and, Het kortst geleden, Ohio. He made the 500-mile trek to Lewiston, Maine last month, picking up a win in the NEF ring against Antonio Chaves Fernandez (7-26-3). Dixon will be looking to get back in the win column at “NEF 22” after a loss last weekend.

NEW SPORT, SAME VECHTEN PASSIE VOOR JOSH PARKER

Lewiston, Maine (November 5, 2015) - New England Fights (NEF), Amerika's nummer een regionale strijd promotie, zal zijn volgende evenement te houden, “NEF XX: A History of Violence” op Zaterdag, November 21, 2015 bij de Androscoggin Bank Colisée in Lewiston, Maine. Het evenement zal beschikken over een primeur voor Maine – mixed-martial-arts (MMA) periodes en professioneel boksen aanvallen op hetzelfde evenement met een MMA kooi en een boksring opgezet side-by-side. Lewiston, Maine (Oktober 23, 2015) - New England Fights (NEF), Amerika's nummer een regionale strijd promotie, zal zijn volgende evenement te houden, “NEF XX: A History of Violence” op Zaterdag, November 21, 2015 bij de Androscoggin Bank Colisée in Lewiston, Maine.
