WOMEN’S FIGHT AT NEF 29 IS A MATTER OF RESPECT

Ozugbo tọhapụ: Lewiston, Maine (Ka 9, 2017) - “I wanna knock her out!” Those were the emphatic words of Alex Walker (3-1) when asked last weekend at “NEF 28” for her prediction on her upcoming fight with Sarah Ziehm (1-0). The crowd at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee erupted in response.

Walker and Ziehm are scheduled to face off when New England Fights (NEF) returns to the Colisee onSaturday, June 17, 2017 with the fight promotion’s next event, “NEF 29: STARS & STRIPES.Walker, a two-fight veteran of the NEF cage and a member of Lancaster, New Hampshire’s Team Kaze, has made it her mission to teach Ziehm a lesson in respect for what Walker viewed as acockyperformance in Ziehm’s debut earlier this year.

I have respect for 99% of the females I do battle with, but I do not respect her,” said Walker when reached for comment. “I don’t like the way she handled herself in her first fight, I think she needs to be humbled and I will do that in Juneif she even shows up! My manager told (NEF matchmaker) Matt Peterson to have a backup because she will come up with an excuse not to get a beating.

Ziehm made her MMA debut last February with a win over Nicole Burgess (0-2). She submitted Burgess in the third round after a dominant performance. (Of note, Walker also submitted Burgess in the third round just a few months earlier.) Ziehm trains with Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (CMBJJ) na Lewiston.

This will be a good battle,” predicted Ziehm. “Alex is a seasoned and skilled warrior. I’m not underestimating her at all. I’m excited to get back into cage and do some work.

Earlier today, NEF announced the addition of a professional featherweight bout to the fight card. Matt “Ken nwa bebi” Denning (4-6) ga-on Dominic “Domination” Jones (1-0) at a weight of 145-pounds. Both athletes are coming off wins last weekend atNEF 28.

Denning entered the cage six days ago looking to break a four-fight skid. The Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (CMBJJ) featherweight worked his ground game and submitted Josh Parker (5-9) with a Guillotine Choke in the first round. He donated a portion of his earnings for the fight to Derek Shorey’s (4-9) family members recently left homeless by a fire in Somersworth, New Hampshire. Denning has now vowed revenge for his teammate, Tollison Lewis (1-6), who fell to Jones last weekend, and he has committed to going undefeated for the remainder of the year.

I’m excited to continue my fighting career with New England Fights,” kwuru Denning. “I’m coming for another win against someone who just TKO’d my teammate. He seems like a nice kid and a solid wrestler, but I’m a better striker and have far superior jiu-jitsu! I’m not losing again this year! See you guys June 17th.”

After a takedown early in the first round, Dom Jones was able to do exactly what his nickname saysdominateagainst Tollison Lewis last Saturday night atNEF 28.Jones used his wrestling to smother Lewis, defending submission attempts in the process, and pounding a TKO win out of Lewis in the final minute of the first round. The bout was Jonesfirst in Maine after a lengthy amateur career in his previous home state of Florida. Jones predicts that he will be the one walking away with a two-fight win streak on June 17.

I’m excited for this match up,” stated Jones. “Wrestling versus jiu-jitsu! Ọzọkwa, our gyms clash! It’s a good fight for me. Denning has worked to get where he is now, and I respect his work he has put in. I have to fight smart and not get caught. Dị Ka June 17th, when that cage door closes, I’m walking out 2-0! THE TIME FOR TALK IS OVER, NOW IT’S TIME TO FIGHT!

Lewiston, Maine (March 1, 2017) – New England alụkarị ọgụ (NEF) presents its next mixed-martial-arts event “NEF 28: INVINCIBLE” na satọde, April 29, 2017 na Androscoggin Bank Colisee na Lewiston, Maine. Earlier today, the fight promotion announced the addition of a professional featherweight bout to the card. Matt “Ken nwa bebi” Denning (3-6) ga- Josh Parker (5-8) na a ọgụ arọ nke 145-pound.

The fight will mark the culmination of months of trash talking on social media between Denning and Parker’s camp. Denning, a member of Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Auburn, Maine and a veteran of the World Series of Fighting (WSOF) cage, will be looking to rebound from a loss to Ricky Dexter (1-0) ikpeazụ nke ọnwa na “NEF 27.

After Josh’s win over Derek Shorey, I wanted to fight him,” Denning said. “Na akwụkwọ, both of our last wins were against the same opponent (Shorey). I thought the fight made sense. We both have had a lot of fights against very tough fighters. Ebe ọ bụ na agha, there has been some Facebook bashing from Parker’s brother, and my response was for Josh to sign the contract. He was insulting me and trash talking, so I wanted to prove them wrong. There is no place in a fight where Parker can beat me and on April 29th, I’ll show that to the NEF fans. I’d like to thank (NEF owners) Nick (DiSalvo) and Matt (Peterson) for giving me another opportunity to fight for them. Ọzọkwa, I’d like to thank Kill Their Will and all my family at CMBJJ for their ongoing support.

Parker’s victory over Shorey last November marked his return to the MMA cage after a three-year absence. He spent the vast majority of that time competing in the boxing ring, yet it was a submission that Parker used to overcome Shorey. For Parker, the head of Ruthless MMA & Boxing based in Benton, Maine, the fight with Denning is not business as usual. The nature of the trash talking has turned personal, and Parker vows vengeance for what he sees as disrespect on Denning’s part.

There comes a time in every fighter’s career that the fight has nothing to do with records or money,” kwuru Parker. “It’s to prove a point. My name has come out of this kid’s mouth too many times. On April 29th, I’m gonna shut it.

SHATTERPROOF AND RUTHLESS IN MAINE TURF WAR AT NEF 26

Lewiston, Maine (October 4, 2016) – New England alụkarị ọgụ (NEF) presents its next mixed-martial-arts event, “NEF 26: SUPREMACY,” na satọde, November 19 at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee. Earlier today, NEF executives announced the addition of a professional featherweight bout to the fight card. Josh Parker (4-8) ga-on“Shatterproof 2.0” Derek Shorey (4-7) na a ọgụ arọ nke 145-pound.

Parker is the head of Ruthless MMA & Boxing based in Benton, Maine. A regular in the NEF MMA cage during the early days of the promotion, Parker has spent the last several years competing in the boxing ring. He battled Elias Leland to a draw last November in a boxing bout at “NEF XX.” Parker predicts a finish in his long-awaited return to cage competition.

I want to thank NEF for the opportunity and Derek for taking the fight,” kwuru Parker. “M obi ụtọ na-na-azụ na onu. I feel like I have a lot to prove. I will show up this time and I will finish this fightdon’t miss it!”

Derek Shorey, founder of the Shatterproof Combat Club at the Outlet in Dexter, Maine, is coming off a huge win in Rhode Island just over a week ago. It was the spark Shorey had been looking for after dropping his last four in a row in the NEF cage. Admittedly, Shorey is filled with both fear and excitement coming into the fight with Parker.

This is a fight that has scared the crap out of me in the past,” declared Shorey. “Ọ bụ nnukwu, strong 145er that has good movement and boxing. Standing and trading could end horribly for either of us. His strength may be enough to keep my slams in check and I’m not a jits expert, so he can probably power out of whatever I throw at him. It’s a puzzle I’m both excited and terrified to tackle.
