Former Interim Cruiserweight World Champion Youri Kalenga added to “Battle of Casablanca” карта

CASABLANCA, Марока (Лютага 2, 2017) – Former Interim cruiserweight world champion Юрый “El Toro” Каленга will provide chief support Лютага 18 for pro-debuting Moroccan amateur boxing sensation Mohammad Rabii на “Battle of Casablanca” карта, presented by Nowhere2Hyde, at Complexe de Sportif Mohammed V Arena in Casablanca, Марока.

Kalenga has never been in a dull fight. The 23-year-old Rabii defeated 2016 Алімпійскі чэмпіён Daniyar Yeleussinov in the welterweight division championship finale of the 2015 AIBA World Amateur Championships to capture a gold for his native Morocco. Rabii won a bronze medal at the 2016 Алімпійскія гульні ў Бразіліі, dropping a highly-disputed decision (0-3) in the semifinals to Uzebek boxer Shakhram Giyasov, the eventual silver medalist.
The ultra-charismatic Rabii has reached “rock star” status in Morocco, testament by an average of 6-million Moroccans viewing each of Rabbi’s Olympic matches on Arryadia Television. “We are very excited to work with our television partners, Arryadia, on our February 18й show as the first of five shows in 2017 featuring Mohammed Rabii,” прамоўтэр Гэры Хайд сказаў. “Rabii has the entire nation of Morocco behind him and he will be challenging for top welterweight honors in no time at all.”

LONG BEACH, Каліфорніі (Ліпеня 7, 2016) – Just two days after dominating previously undefeated Francy Ntetu (16-1, 3 КО) on Premier Boxing Champions’ Чэрвеня 25й CBS card at New York’s Barclay’s Center, “Чырвоны сцяг,” Дэвід Бенавидес, was back at his home gym in Long Beach, preparing for his next bout. The rising star had no intention of taking time off, and jumped right into an intense training regimen that included sparring with Gilberto “Ляўшун” Рамірэс (34-0, 24KO), who was set to make his pay-per-view debut later in the month, but was sidelined this week with an injury.
“My last fight was hard, but I learned a lot,” stated Benavidez regarding his bout with previously unbeaten Canadian Ntetu. “It was great experience, getting rounds in.”
With only one exception, a six round fight that went the distance in 2014, Benavidez hadn’t fought beyond the second round, knocking out opponent after opponent.
“I feel better and more experienced,” Benavidez continued. “I have confidence knowing I can go into deep waters and finish a fight if I have to. I’m learning how to pace myself when I need to during a round, and I know that those later rounds made me a better fighter.”
As Benavidez prepares for his next fight, he’s focused completely on improving himself.
“I didn’t mind getting right back to the gym,” said Benavidez. “This is my lifestyle now. I just want to train. I want to look at what I did wrong in my last fight and fix it. I don’t want to get rusty in between fights. When I’m not physically training, I’m thinking about mistakes I made in fights, techniques that can be improved. I want to get better each fight, and I’m consumed by that.”
