Robbery at the Cannery! Scoring Woes Continue in Las Vegas as Eduardo Ramirez Cheated by Bad Judging

Barthelemy-Ramirez Ends in Dubious Draw
A loud chorus of boos rang out as another controversial Las Vegas decision was rendered in malam ini Leduan Barthelemy vs. Eduardo Ramirez featherweight battle at the Cannery Hotel & Casino di Las Vegas.

Her decades of head-scratching scores include having Fernando Vargas ahead of Oscar De La Hoya at the time of De La Hoya’s 11th round stoppage victory, as well as having Beibut Shumenov winning 117-111 in a fight against Gabriel Campillo that Campillo clearly dominated and was robbed. Also among her long list of missteps, Morse Jarman had Marco Antonio Barrera beating Nasim Hamed by a mere three points in a fight regarded by all (except Morse Jarman) as a one-sided beating.
With the “menggambar” Barthelemy escapes to 13-0-1, 7 Biaya. Ramirez undeservedly sinks to 20-0-3, 7 Biaya.

LAS VEGAS (Bulan September 26, 2017) – Featherweights terkalahkan Leduan Barthelemy (13-0-1, 7 Biaya) dan Eduardo Ramirez (20-0-3, 7 Biaya) fought to an exciting split draw in their 10-round brawl that headlined Premier Boxing Champions Selasa TOE-TO-TOE pada FS1 dan Tinju Championsdi FOX Deportes Hari Selasa night from the Cannery Hotel & Casino di Las Vegas.
The back-and-forth battle saw Barthelemy attempt to take advantage of his length early while Ramirez fought hard to do damage on the inside. By round four, Ramirez had begun to break through Barthelemy’s defense and by the sixth round he connected with Barthelemy repeatedly with no response to score a huge round in his favor.
“I wanted to pressure him all the way through and take away his reach advantage,” said Ramirez. “I felt good the whole fight and he never hurt me at any point. I believed in my skills and I performed well.”
“It was a very tough, physical fight for both of us,” Kata Barthelemy. “I didn’t feel 100 percent but I was able to work through it and I never felt hurt during the fight. He landed on me but I was able to keep my composure.”
Barthelemy was able to recover and began to stifle Ramirez’s aggressiveness by pivoting effectively and landing punches from different angles. By the final round, the two fighters resorted to brawling on the inside, with both men landing big punches all the way to the final bell.
In the end the judges’ scores reflected the close nature of the bout as one judge scored the fight 97-93 for Barthelemy while another judge scored the bout 96-94 for Ramirez. The fight was declared a split draw after the final score was announced as 95-95.

“I thought that I won the fight, it was a close fight but I believe that I did what I had to do to win,” said Ramirez. “I would fight him again and beat him even worse.”
Additional action saw once-beaten Alejandro Salinas (9-1, 8 Biaya) was able to earn a unanimous decision over rugged brawler Duarn View (12-1, 4 Biaya) in their eight-round super featherweight contest.
The fight was defined by close quarters exchanges that began right after the opening bell as Vue charged Salinas and tried to navigate the distance and brawl with Salinas. The tide quickly turned for Salinas who established his right hand and connected several times cleanly with Vue’s head.
Vue did not stop attacking and forced Salinas to vary his attack and add in uppercuts and left hooks with his effective right hand. While Vue was able to tag Salinas as he tired into the later rounds, it was not enough to come back in the minds of the judges as all three scored the bout for Salinas by scores of 80-72, 79-73 dan 77-75.
The opening bout saw Bryan Figueroa (13-0, 5 Biaya) remain unbeaten and win a close decision over Ivan Jimenez (7-1-1, 4 Biaya) in their six round lightweight fight.
Figueroa took his time early trying to utilize his height advantage to strike Jimenez from a distance and in round three he connected on a hard left hand that backed up and staggered his opponent. Jimenez was able to stay on his feet, and had success at times getting on the inside and hitting Figueroa with hooks, but was not able to land consistently enough.
The fiery exchanges continued through the sixth and final round with Figueroa eventually earning the decision on all three judges’ scorecards by the score of 58-56.

BETHLEHEM, PA. (Bulan September 19) – Unbeaten super lightweight Mario Barrios (20-0, 12 Biaya) dikalahkan Naim Nelson (13-4, 1 KO) via seventh round TKO in the main event of Premier Boxing Champions Selasa TOE-TO-TOE pada FS1 dan Tinju Champions on FOX Deportes from Sands Bethlehem Events Center in Bethlehem, Pa.
The fast-rising star Barrios of San Antonio started the bout throwing multiple combinations to the head and body of Nelson of Philadelphia. He kept his distance and stayed patient, but did not get to showcase all of the tools in his arsenal as the fight took a turn in the third round when Nelson went to the canvas after hurting his left shoulder by throwing a hook. That was ruled a slip and he dropped to his knees again after throwing another punch, but after being examined by the ringside doctor, it was determined that Nelson could continue.
Barrios was not deterred and continued to move forward, apply pressure and control the action into the fourth round. By the fifth, Nelson’s work rate dropped significantly, which Barrios took advantage of by battering the Philadelphia-native against the ropes. Throughout the sixth, Barrios stalked Nelson around the ring while Nelson tried to work through his apparent shoulder injury, countering with the right where he could. Pada akhirnya, Barrios sent Nelson to the canvas with a hard left hand causing Referee Gary Rosato to wave off the bout at 1:41 dari ronde ketujuh. The opening bout saw light heavyweights Earl Newman (10-0-1, 7 Biaya) Brooklyn, NY and Paul Parker (8-2-1, 4 Biaya) Toledo, OH fight to an eight-round draw. Parker made it awkward for Newman in the first two rounds by starting out strong, moving forward, diving in and staying busy. Namun Begitu, Newman came out of the corner swinging in the third, throwing a left hook that forced Parker to tap the canvas with his glove although it was not ruled a knockdown by referee Benjy Esteves.
Neman worked his right hand throughout the fourth round, ready to counter Parker’s shots. Newman drove Parker back with a left hook in the fifth and continued to put pressure on the Ohio-native throughout the round. The two-time New York Golden Gloves winner continued to press forward and walk down Parker in the later rounds, but was unable to finish strong enough to be victorious as the judges scored the bout 79-32 (Newman), 77-75 (Parker) dan 76-76.

The youngest brother of two-division world champion Rances and Olympic gold medalist Yan, Barthelemy picked up four victories in 2016 and started his 2017 campaign with a victory over Jesus Aguinaga and a stoppage of Reynaldo Blanco. The 28-year-old fights out of Las Vegas by way of Cuba and continues to rise under the tutelage of Ismael Salas.

A tall fighter for his division at more than six feet, the 21-year-old Barrios picked up seven victories in a jam-packed 2015 in which he stopped five opponents inside the distance and followed it up in 2016 with three more victories, including a 12-round decision over Devis Boschiero in July. The San Antonio native began his 2017 campaign with a stoppage victory over Yardley Suarez on the Keith Thurman vs. Danny Garcia undercard in Brooklyn in March and followed it up with a knockout victory over Jose Luis Rodriguez in June. He makes his third appearance on FS1 and FOX Deportes on September 19 and his first as the main event.
The 27-year-old Nelson won his first 12 pro fights before dropping a decision to former world champion Mickey Bey in December 2015 but bounced back with a decision victory over Carlos Velasquez. Fighting out of nearby Philadelphia, Nelson has recently challenged top contender Alejandro Luna and last fought in Bethlehem against Tre’Sean Wiggins in April.
Born and raised in West Philadelphia, Fulton defeated previously unbeaten Luis Rosario in April after a 2016 that saw him stop then unbeaten Adalberto Zorrilla and Cristian Renteria. The 23-year-old is unbeaten since turning pro in 2014 and will be looking to make it a perfect 12 wins in 12 pro starts when he enters the ring on Bulan September 19.
The 21-year-old Lopez has beaten fighters with a combined record of 13-0-1 in his last three fights including a victory in July over Paul Romero. Fighting out of Glendale, California., Lopez has picked up four victories this year as he prepares for his toughest opponent to date and his first fight on the east coast.
A former New York Golden Gloves champion, Newman has shown impressive power in stopping seven of his first ten opponents since turning pro in 2014. The 26-year-old out of Brooklyn is coming in off of a victory over then once-beaten Leo Hall and a stoppage over Dustin Craig Echard last year. Newman has fought professionally since 2014 and won his first eight fights in his first two years as a pro.
Representing Toledo, Ohio, Parker has challenged top contenders Sullivan Barrera and Vyacheslav Shabranskyy sandwiched around a victory over Lionell Thompson in 2016. The 32-year-old has fought professionally since 2012 and won his first seven fights before stepping up in competition.

MIAMI, OKE. (Bulan Agustus 25, 2017) – Sergiy Derevyanchenko (11-0, 9 Biaya) remained unbeaten as he stopped Tureano Johnson (20-2, 14 Biaya) dalam 12th and final round of their middleweight world title eliminator that headlined a special Friday night edition of Premier Boxing Champions Selasa TOE-TO-TOE pada tanggal FS1 dan Tinju Champions pada tanggal FOX Sports
Derevyanchenko put himself in line for a world title shot with an impressive stoppage of the durable contender Johnson in their bout from Main Street – in front of historic Coleman Theater – di Miami, Oklahoma.

The third round saw Derevyanchenko’s offense break through as he was able to land multiple punches to the head while Johnson could only try to cover up. After falling behind in the first half of the fight, Johnson upped the aggression in rounds six and seven and was able to have more success landing series of hooks through Derevyanchenko’s own offense.
Namun Begitu, in round eight Derevyanchenko returned to relying on his jab and was once again able to create the space to land strong shots and got the best of multiple exchanges. Derevyanchenko continued to show off impressive combos until finally breaking down Johnson for good in the 12th round with a ferocious combination that included three clean left hooks to the head.
“He was very tough and took a lot of punches,” said Derevyanchenko. “Maybe the fight could have been stopped earlier but I was always ready to go the distance.”
Johnson was sent down and referee Gary Ritter immediately called a halt to the bout 40 seconds into the final round.
“I’m ready to fight the winner of Golovkin vs. Canelo for the title,” said Derevyanchenko. “I think that Golovkin will win and I look forward to fighting him next.”
The co-main event of the telecast saw once-beaten Hugo Centeno Jr. (26-1, 14 Biaya) deliver a highlight reel knockout of previously undefeated Immanuel Aleem (17-1, 10 Biaya) in the third round of their middleweight matchup.
Centeno Jr. looked to use his 6’1″ frame to hurt Aleem from a distance as he circled the ring and stayed on the outside until attacking with a combination. Aleem came out dedicated to throwing huge left hooks to the body and worked to stay on the inside against the taller opponent.
Aleem upped the aggression in the second and third rounds, but Centeno Jr. stayed calm and slowly began to time the charging Aleem. A Centeno uppercut in round two was the first shot that got the attention of Aleem, who was coming in to this bout off of a knockout victory over Ievgen Khytrov in a Fight of the Year candidate from January.
Late in the third round, Centeno Jr. landed a perfect left hook on the button just as Aleem tried to throw his own left hand and sent Aleem crashing to the canvas. Referee Gerald Ritter counted Aleem out as the fight was officially ended 2:27 into the round and Centeno walked away with a victory that will likely garner Knockout of the Year consideration.

LAS VEGAS (Bulan Agustus 22, 2017) – Mantan juara dunia Juan Carlos Payano (19-1, 9 Biaya) scored an impressive decision victory over Alexis Santiago (24-5-1, 8 Biaya) dalam acara utamaPremier Boxing Champions Selasa TOE-TO-TOE pada tanggal FS1 dan Tinju Championspada tanggal FOX Sports, Hari Selasa night from Sam’s Town Live in Las Vegas and presented by Mayweather Promotions.
Payano set the pace early, closing the distance with Santiago and delivering consistent flurries of punches. Santiago was unable to keep Payano from charging forward early and seemed focused on landing a big counter.
The fight was defined by its rough nature and constant fighting on the inside. This led to a cut above Payano’s left eye after round three, but his corner was able to manage it and the cut was never a problem.
“I felt like I was winning every single round,” said Payano. “There were small moments on the inside that I gave away but I think I did the better work each round.”
Santiago had moments in the fight and landed big right hands late in the fourth and fifth rounds that got Payano’s attention, but the former champion was able to throw back with high volume and regain control of the fight.
“The strategy was to wear him down and then really try to walk him down and take him out,” said Payano. “Santiago was a little too tough for his own good so I kept some distance at times and controlled the fight.”
“I felt the long layoff when I got in there,” Kata Santiago. “I was a little tight and I loaded up too much instead of using my speed.”
Even when Santiago was able to corner Payano, the slippery fighter was able to fight his way off the ropes and turn the tide back in his favor. After the end of 10 rounds of super bantamweight action all three judges’ saw the fight in Payano’s favor by scores of 100-90 dan 99-91 dua kali.
“I want my titles back,” said Payano. “I don’t care who is holding which titles at 118 dan 122 pon. I’ll fight anyone and show I’m still a champion.”
“I thought the fight was a little closer,” Kata Santiago. “He did more work than me but I thought I had good moments. I wanted to box him a little more but I couldn’t find my range so I just tried to close down the gaps. We just have to go back to the drawing board and stay more active. I want to get a tune-up fight then get right back to fighting top guys.”
The co-main event saw once-beaten Ladarius Miller (14-1, 4 Biaya) score a unanimous decision victory over 2012 DIRI KITA. Olimpiade Jamel Herring (16-2, 9 Biaya) in their 10-round lightweight bout.
The southpaws began the fight carefully, with Miller looking to establish his jab while Herring showed great movement early and tried to catch Miller in the pocket. The exchanges picked up in round two, although both men were still primarily throwing one punch at a time.
“I know I out-jabbed him,” said Miller. “When we jabbed each other, I thought my jab was stronger than his. I gave him two different styles. There were times where I walked him down and times where I boxed him.”
Miller began to pick up the aggressiveness in round three, following up his jab with a straight left hand over the top that snapped Herring’s head. Herring continued to focus on his movement and mixed-in good body work several times to finish off exchanges.
In round five Herring began to plant himself inside and looked to counter Miller, but was unable to do enough clean work to get the attention of the judges as Miller continued to throw back with left hands and movement that occasionally frustrated Herring.

In the end it was Miller’s consistent work throughout the fight that got him the nod from all three judges by scores of 98-92 dan 97-93 dua kali.
“I thought 97-93 was the right score,” said Miller. “I took it easy in round nine and felt him out in the first two rounds. But the rest of the fight I felt like I dominated. It’s a process. I’m just climbing the ladder right now. I want to get another test and fight more strong fighters. I want to be on the biggest stages. I’m ready for the step up.”
“I thought I landed some heavy shots in there and was more aggressive,” Kata Herring. “Obviously the judges saw it differently. I’ll get back with my team and see what’s next, but I did think I won the fight. I thought I won the last two rounds and pulled it out.”
