NOV-JORKO (Junio 25, 2015) – Cancer survivor and Middleweight World Champion Daniel “La Mirakla Viro” Jacobs (29-1, 26 KOs) continued to spread his motivational story of perseverance this week by making visits to Gilda’s Club in Warminster, PA marde and Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital in New York Merkrede as part of his Get In The Ring Foundation Komunuma outreach. Jacobs overcame his bout with osteosarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer, and he hopes that his miraculous recovery and comeback can serve to motivate children who have been affected by cancer.

 

“These kids know the challenges that cancer can bring,” Jacobs said. “But when you see someone in my position — a world champion who overcame cancer and is doing so much after recovery — it can give them a sense of hope. I want to share the battles I’ve had, so it can give kids just a little more ease in the battles and the struggles they’re facing now.”

 

As Jacobs gears up for his fight back inside the squared circle on #A?gusto 1, he is optimistic that his efforts this week will help the children at Gilda’s Club and Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital believe that they are champions in life just as he is in the ring.

LASa VEGAS (Junio 24, 2015) – Twelve-time world champion and boxing’s number one attraction Floyd “Mono” Mayweather continues to rack up career accolades as it was announced today that he has been nominated for the 2015 ESPY Award for “Best Fighter.” With this nomination, Mayweather has the opportunity to win his seventh “Best Fighter” ESPY and fourth in a row.

Mayweather is fresh off of his historic victory in May over Manny Pacquiao in a fight that captured the attention of the world while breaking numerous records. This event generated an astounding $600 Miliono, making it the most the most lucrative one-day sporting event in history.

The inspirational figure who will fight at Barclays Center for the fourth time, Brooklyn’s Jacobs completed his road from cancer survivor to champion last August when he defeated Jarrod Fletcher for the middleweight title. In April of this year, Collazo made a statement with a second round TKO of Christopher Degollado at Barclays Center. A world champion in 2005, Collazo has faced top fighters his whole career. Most notably in recent years, he delivered an electrifying second round knockout over Victor Ortiz in Dec. 2014. Collazo will look to use his experience and guile to upset Thurman on the road on Julio 11.

 

At just 24-years-old, Harrison has made big noise recently as he brings a 10 knockout win streak to his fight on Julio 11. The Detroit-native has gotten off to a blazing start in 2015, already knocking out Antwone Smith and Pablo Munguia in impressive fashion. The supremely talented fighter now steps up in competition and hopes to keep his undefeated record intact when he faces Nelson.

The undercard features crafty super bantamweight Isaac Zarate (10-1-1,1 KO) of Los Angeles against Fernando Fuentes (5-4-1, 1 KO) of Hemet, Calif. Outside of the two televised bouts, the 8-round fight between Zarate and Martinez is among the most eagerly anticipated fights of the night.

 

“Zarate is one of the most exciting, young boxers in the 122 Lb. divido,” Dirita Ken Thompson, prezidanto de Thompson Boksado. “He won’t blow you away with power, but his hand speed and work rate are definitely worth the cost of admission.”

 

“I’m looking forward to a great night of boxing,” Dirita Artie Pelullo, president of Banner Promotions. “It’s a great card all around, and the Boxcino finals will be fan friendly fights where two new world title contenders will emerge.”

 

Zarate, mallerta, makes life difficult for opponents by using an unlimited energy supply to launch punches from all sorts of angles. He’s elusive in that he darts in and out of danger spots, which makes landing combinations on him a difficult matter.

 

“I try not to stay in the same spot for too long,” said the 23-year-old Zarate. “By moving and changing the pace, my opponents typically can’t time my movements.”
