Undefeated Puerto Rican Bantamweight Manny Rodriguez Ready for Former World Champion Paul Butler This Saturday at 02 Arena

Bantamweight contender Emmanuel “Manny” Rodriguez and his team have landed safely and ready to face former world champion Paul “Baby Faced Assassin” Butler for the vacant IBF World Championship, dydd Sadwrn, Mai 5, at the O2 Arena in London.

Presented by Matchroom Boxing, Rodriguez (17-0, 12 Kos), o Puerto Rico, and Butler (26-1, 14 Kos), 29, Lloegr, will meet in a 12-round supporting bout to the all-British rematch between former World Heavyweight Champions Tony Bellew (29-2-1, 19 Kos) and David Haye (28-3, 26 Kos).

Rodriguez almost had his very promising boxing career derailed for a time by an unfortunate car accident in which he burned 66% of his body. After a long rehab, he returned, and went on a, hyd yn hyn, 17-fight tear through the professional ranks.

The 25-year-old was the mandatory contender to face former champion Ryan Burnett, who chose to relinquish his belts. This allowed for Butler to slide into the fight for the unclaimed belt.

29-year-old Butler previously held the IBF belt, but before defending it, elected to drop down in weight to face then-champion Zolani Tete… and was stopped in the eighth round. He has won nine fights since.

“It has been a long road to this fight, but I am ready to win my first world championship,” said Rodriguez. “Paul Butler is a good fighter, ond gall dim stopio fi. I have worked too hard to get here. It doesn’t matter that we’re in his backyard. I’ve done everything right getting ready for this and I look forward to bringing the belt back to my beloved country of Puerto Rico.”

Rodriguez’ co-promoter, Leon Margules y Rhyfelwyr Bocsio, says a star will be born Saturday night.

“Manny has always been a superstar in the making. I am happy he is finally getting the chance to shine in front of a large audience, worldwide. I have no doubt he will win impressively and set himself up for several big showdowns in the near future.”

BUTLER MEETS RODRIGUEZ FOR IBF WORLD TITLE ON MAY 5

AWE to Air Live Bellew v. Haye II, ar ddydd Sadwrn, May 5th

The Highly Anticipated Rematch between Tony Bellew and David Haye to air Live and Exclusively on AWE

SAN DIEGO, CALIF. – Ebrill 12, 2018 -Paul Butler gets the chance to become two-time IBF World Bantamweight champion when he tackles undefeated Emmanuel Rodriguez at The O2 in London on May 5, live on AWE-A Wealth of Entertainment.

Butler’s clash with Rodriguez is part of a huge night of action in Greenwich as Heavyweight rivals Tony Bellew and David Haye clash in a hotly-anticipated rematch.

Butler landed the IBF strap in April 2014 by taking it from Stuart Hall in Newcastle before vacating the strap to move down to Super-Flyweight in March 2015 to challenge IBF champion Zolani Tete.

The ‘Baby Faced Assassinreturned to 118lbs and back into title contention when he comfortably saw off Hall in a rematch in Liverpool in September, and is rated at four in the IBF, one spot behind top-rated Rodriguez.

The unbeaten 25 year old visitor is hotly-rated having raced to 17-0 in the paid ranks with 12 wins inside the distance, a rise all the more impressive following an amateur background that was stunted by a car accident.

Rodriguez’s trip to London is his first outside the Americas since turning pro and his first over the championship distance, and Butler intends to make the trip a miserable one for the Puerto Rican and reclaim his title.

I’m very excited for this,” said Butler. “It’s the reason we came over to Eddie in the first place, I knew he would deliver the big fights for me. We’re just four weeks away. It’s a big test but I’m confident.

It’s an honor to contest the IBF title again. I want to win it back then hopefully defend which I didn’t have the chance to do last time.

It sounded a good idea at the time to vacate but looking back now I should have kept hold of the belt. I should have worked on my strength and conditioning, filled out and defended my title. I’ve definitely got some unfinished business with thisit would be brilliant to go out there and win it again.

It’s a tougher test the last time I won the title, but I’m up for the challenge. I’ve improved myself. He’s touted to be this next big superstar, but how many of them come over here and get turned on their heads?

I never used to look at my opponents, but since I’ve linked up with Joe he’s always sending me little clips. He looks a good kid, he likes to work at midrange but in truth I don’t want to say too much about what he does and doesn’t do well.

I don’t care how big and tough he iswe both have two arms, two legs, he’s from Puerto Rico and I’m from Ellesmere Port so let’s get it on. I can see this being a very good fight, we both like to go body to head, head to body but I’ll come out being the two-time IBF World Bantamweight champion.

Super-Middleweights John Ryder and Jamie Cox clash in a crucial clash in the 168lbs division and Martin J. Ward defends his European Super-Featherweight title against James Tennyson.

Expected start time is 3 PM ET / 12 PM PT.

The fight card will also be streamed live via KlowdTV on the AWE channel.

HOLLYWOOD, FL. (Mehefin 4, 2016) – Undefeated lightweight world champion RancesBlast Kid” Barthelemy (25-0, 13 Kos) defeated former world champion MickeyThe SpiritBey (22-2-1, 10 Kos) drwy benderfyniad hollti (117-110, 116-111, 110-117) yn y prif achos o Hyrwyddwyr Bocsio Premier (PBC) ar Spike Dydd Gwener night at the Hard Rock Live at the Seminole Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.
Following an exciting first round in which Barthelemy backed Bey up at the bell, round two came to a close with similar fireworks in the form of an accidental head butt. In the commotion, a stunned Barthelemy stumbled to the canvas and referee Sam Burgos ruled it an official knockdown, making it the first of Barthelemy’s career.
Barthelemy said, “I really don’t remember exactly what happened, but I felt it was more of a slip than anything. I was a little off balance and we butted heads so at that point that’s when I went down, but that’s okay. I don’t mind that they counted it.
Bey had issues with the head contact also. “After I dropped him he got me again with a good head butt. The cut on my eye from that second head butt affected me for about four or five rounds, but it’s a fight, so you have to do the best you can with the vision you have. But I would have liked to avoid all the head contact.
It was the first time in my entire career, both amateurs and professionals, that I hit the canvas in any way,” added Barthelemy. “It was just a little surprising, but after that I knew I had to come out strong and put pressure on him because I knew the judges might hold that against me. My mentality originally was to outbox but I had to change my plans and start putting pressure on him.
In a fight that saw a lot of competitive back and forth action during the middle and late rounds, neither fighter was able to take complete control or end the evening early.
Barthelemy believed he’d done enough to win unanimously arguing, “When I heard the judge who gave the score to Bey I thought he was either blind or he was bought. I felt that was disrespectful not only to me but to the fans as well.
We knew what Mickey was prepared for though,” concluded Barthelemy. “We knew he was going to be an evasive counter puncher and we knew that Bey came from the Mayweather school of boxing. So we knew what we were up against and he put on a tough fight.
Bey vowed to avenge the hard-fought loss soon. “I’m ready to get right back after it and chase another belt. I’m looking to stay busy and get back in the ring soon.
Yn yr agoriad ar y teledu, undefeated Puerto Rican bantamweight Emmanuel Rodriguez (15-0, 10 Kos) beat experienced Mexican Alberto “Metro” Guevara (24-3, 9 Kos) drwy benderfyniad unfrydol (99-91, 100-90, 99-91).
Rodriguez controlled the opening rounds with a variety of left hooks and overhand rights, backing Guevara up at will.
My strategy was to come in and attack him because he is not your typical Mexican-style fighter,” meddai'r Rodriguez.
An accidental head butt at the end of round four led to a cut that developed under the left eye of Guevara.
We knew he was an awkward fighter,” said Rodriguez of their heads colliding, “But he was even more awkward than we thought.
A highly decorated amateur, Rodriguez continued his calculated, methodical approach throughout the middle rounds.
Rodriguez added, “We weren’t able to really decipher him in the first rounds but we were able to adjust eventually.
Guevara, who has fought in two world title fights, threw a change-up and came out fighting more wildly in round seven, causing Rodriguez some minor issues with the distance.
Fodd bynnag, Rodriguez stuck to his game plan and used his superior timing to coast to victory in the later rounds.
Guevara said, “My plan was to box him and tap him when I had him, but things didn’t come out that way. I’m not sure if it was a lack of focus or what it was, I’m just not sure. I feel good though. Roedd yn frwydr galed, harder than I expected. He’s a strong guy. I felt a little constrained and a little slow, but I tried my best heno.”
Rodriguez summed up the win adding, “Rwy'n teimlo'n wych, diolch i Dduw. I’m really happy with this Victory, it was a victory that I needed to add onto my record and thankfully I was able to get it. Now I’m going to take a month off and wait until my management team tells us what fight date comes next so we can continue to pursue the goals we have set for ourselves.
The second televised bout featured unbeaten prospect Caleb “Dwylo melys” Planhigion(13-0, 10 Kos) getting a knockout victory over Columbia’s Carlos Galvan (12-5-1, 11 Kos) mewn pwl Canol.
Plant spent much of the first two rounds displaying his trademark showmanship and feeling out Galvan.
Plant said his strategy entering the ring was, “To be sharp and slick heno, stay relaxed and patient. I didn’t want to force anything or leave myself out there too long.
That’s exactly what Plant did, ending the bout in the fourth with a devastating blow to Galvan’s solar plexus.
A frustrated Galvan said, “He got a lucky shot, I threw a straight right and he slipped by it and landed a body shot to my liver so I wasn’t able to continue with the fight after that.
It was just about staying patient and waiting for him to make a mistake,” meddai'r Planhigion. “I wanted to take advantage, and that’s what happened. I took the body shot when I saw he was open and he went down.

Dyma beth oedd gan y diffoddwyr i ddweud Dydd Mercher:
RANCES Barthélemy
I’m very excited to be fighting here close to Miami. This is a second home for Cubans and I’m really motivated to put on a great performance for the fans.
Ismael Salas is one of the top trainers in the world and our whole team has been fantastic. We’re ready to get in the ring and fight.
I come prepared with a few strategies. I never stick to one game plan because us Cubans were taught to have a few up your sleeve so that you can adjust according to whatever presents itself to you in the ring.
If we don’t get the knockout, then we are ready to go the distance. My team is prepared to go the distance if we have to, but also to give an entertaining fight.
You’re going to see a new Rances Barthelemy in 2016.
“Peidiwch â cholli'r frwydr hon. Get there early, because it might not go five. Get ready for a great night of boxing.
Mickey Bey
I want to give Rances props for stepping up and taking the fight. This is the beautiful thing about boxing, y gorau ymladd y gorau.
You have a two-time champion fighting a world champion that never lost his belt in the ring. That says it all right there. We’re two elite fighters. We’re both going for glory.
No matter what anybody says today, it comes down to the action ar ddydd Gwener.
I’m in there with the same mindset no matter who I’m fighting. I’m coming in there to do what I do no matter what. It’s just another day for me.
You’ll see a throwback fighter in there. I’m like the fighters from back in the day. I’m here looking for the victory. I don’t care how I get it and I can’t predict. But we want to have our hand raised.
I’m coming to get what is rightfully mine. Peidiwch â'i golli.”
EMMANUEL RODRIGUEZ
I feel great and ready for Dydd Gwener. I’m not worried about yfory at all, we’re right on weight, so we’re just looking forward to stepping into the ring at this point.
We’ve been in training camp for six months as we had a tentative fight date scheduled prior to this so I was already in the gym getting ready. We’re in the best shape.
We have seen footage of him and saw he makes a lot of mistakes. We analyzed those defaults and are using them as a strategy against him. We’ve put those into practice and think we will be able to execute them to come out victorious at the end of the night.
He’s not your typical Mexican warrior fighter, he’s the total opposite actually so we’re not worried about what he does.
ALBERTO GUEVARA
I’m ready for this big opportunity and I’m ready to fight. This is a big card and it’s very exciting.
I know what I have in front of me. Emmanuel Rodriguez is a good fighter, but he’s just another opponent to me.
I’m well prepared and I believe I’m going to win this fight.
CALEB PLANT
I’m thankful to have this stage to perform on. I’m glad the media could come out and get a sneak peek of what I’m going to bring Dydd Gwener nos.
The game plan is to go in there and look sharp, be slick, make adjustments and dictate the pace. He’s going to be uncomfortable because we’re going to dictate the pace. We’ll see if he can keep up.
I’ve seen enough tape on, which wasn’t very much. I let my coaches breakdown the film and let me know what I need to do.
This is my only job and I do it well. I’m not into getting ready, Yr wyf yn aros yn barod. We’re here to show out.
I’ve had a great training camp. I worked hard and I’m ready to put on a show Dydd Gwener hwnnos. I’m going to do what I always do in there.
