COMBATE AMERICAS SIGNS MMA STAR GASTON “TONGA” REYNO TO EXCLUSIVE, MULTI-YEAR AGREEMENT

NEW YORK – APRIL 6, 2018 - Combate Americas today announced the signing of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) featherweight (145 mapaundi) star Gaston “Tonga” Reyno (7-2) kuti basi, multi-year promotional contract.

 

The 5-foot-10, 31-year-old Reyno, who hails from Montevideo, Uruguay, will make his promotional debut for Combate Americas on a May date to be announced soon.

 

“We are proud to welcome Gaston Reyno, one of the most exciting fighters from South America, to the Combate Americas roster,” said Combate Americas CEO Campbell McLaren.

 

Reyno is a seasoned, multiple-time champion in Muay Thai, kickboxing and Tae Kwon Do, and has competed across four different continents – North America, South America, Asia and Australia.

NEW YORK – March 29, 2018 – Univision Deportes and Combate Americas, the premier Hispanic Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) sports franchise, today jointly announced a historic, multi-year partnership to produce and distribute live Combate Americas fight programming on Univision and Univision Deportes Network (UDN).
 

The agreement marks the first time ever that Univision Deportes will produce and distribute live MMA programming and, mu 2018, will include a total of 16 television airings, beginning with a live, 90-minute broadcast on Univision (12am ET/ 12am PT) and UDN (12am ET/ 9madzulo PT) of the recently announced “Combate Estrellas I” show at Shrine in Los Angeles, Calif. pa Friday, April 13.

San Antonio, TX – November 29, 2017 – Combate Americas today announced a complete, seven-fight preliminary bout card lineup for it’s first-ever live television event in Texas State – “TS-1 Promotions Presents: Combate 19 (Queen Warriors)" – taking place at Freeman Coliseum in San Antonio – paFriday, December 1, live on Telemundo (12 a.m. AND/11 p.m. CT).

CANCUN, MX – November 7, 2017 - Combate Américas announced earlier the official matchups for the quarterfinal, or opening stage, of the highly-anticipated “COPA COMBATE,” one-night, eight-man bantamweight (135 mapaundi) Obwerawa masewera a karati (MMA) tournament that will award its winner a grand prize of $100,000, live on both Telemundo and NBCSN from Cancun, Mexico on Loweruka, November 11 pa 11:30 p.m. AND/10:30 p.m. CT.

Chochitikacho, which takes place at Grand Oasis Cancun, marks both the first NBCU simulcast in history of an MMA event, and the first-ever Telemundo broadcast of MMA programming.

“COPA COMBATE” also represents the first time that world-class fighters from the U.S., Latin America and Spain will represent their respective countries in an epic, one-night tournament showdown in which the winner will have persevered through three consecutive bouts.

In the first quarterfinal stage bout in tournament bracket “A,” vicious striker Mikey “El Terrible” Erosa (12-5) from San Juan, Puerto Rico will take on red-hot Marcelo “The Pitbull” Rojo (12-4) from Cordoba, Argentina.
