Gonzalez (8-0, 7 KOs), sortir de Worcester, MA, était 2015 Nouvelle-Angleterre d'or Gloves champion, qui se sont qualifiés pour la 2016 Essais olympiques. L'ajout de Gonzalez avec une carte mettant en vedette certaines des stars de demain comme Hartford, Champion poids léger CT Richard “Popeye le marin” Rivera (6-0, 5 KOs) signifie que deux des trois meilleurs espoirs de la Nouvelle-Angleterre seront en action ce samedi à Derry. HAMPTON, N.H. (Décembre 9, 2017) — Perspective colorée des poids lourds légers Richard “Popeye le marin” Rivera resté invaincu (5-0, 4 KOs), vétéran Roberto “Le vieux” Valenzuela, hier soir (Sat.) dans le “Rumble au RIM” événement principal, présenté par Granite Chin Promotions, au complexe sportif RIM à Hampton, New Hampshire.
Rivera, se battre hors de Hartford (CT), a contrôlé l'action dès la cloche d'ouverture contre son adversaire mexicain éprouvé au combat, qui avait un énorme avantage d'expérience dans son 147e combat pro, par rapport au cinquième de Rivera.
Valenzuela a passé la plupart du temps sur les cordes, pendant que Rivera le raconte, jusqu'à ce qu'un beau crochet gauche placé par Rivera paré Valenzuela, qui n'a pas réussi à se lever avant l'arbitre Mike Ryan terminé le 10-temps.
Un bus plein de fans de Rivera a conduit cinq heures de Hartford à travers une tempête de neige, arrivant juste avant que Rivera n'entre sur le ring. “Cela signifie beaucoup pour moi,” Rivera a souri en parlant de ses fans. “Nous sommes plus qu’une salle de sport, nous sommes une famille.

Le fils et le neveu de plusieurs fois champions du monde de kickboxing – père Tommy et oncle – a travaillé son coin — Peabody, MA Russell Kimber fait des débuts professionnels prometteurs contre des durs Nathan Schulte dans un match disputé à un poids attrape de 185 livres. Kimber, 32 ans, qui était le favori de la foule après avoir vécu plusieurs années dans le New Hampshire, a vaincu Schulte déterminé pour une victoire acharnée par une décision à la majorité à quatre tours.
“J'étais un peu nerveux car c'était ma première fois dans un ring professionnel,” Kimber a admis après son combat. “Je n'avais pas été dans un ring depuis 1 ½ ans et il y avait de la rouille annulaire. Maintenant, Je sais ce dont j'ai besoin pour faire du bien, Et je serai beaucoup mieux au prochain combat. C'était mon premier camp et j'ai beaucoup appris. J'aimerais rester occupé, revenez fin janvier, début février.”
Whitman invaincu, Perspective des poids welters juniors MA Micro “Homme mauvais” Ohan, Jr.chargé à travers l'anneau, déchargeant un droit puissant qui a immédiatement envoyé Bardraiel Smith à la toile. Dans un combat sans titre disputé à un poids attrape de 185 livres, le Quincy, Traietti, basé à MA, a battu son adversaire mexicain avec une ligne droite à mi-chemin du premier tour, clôture du spectacle au deuxième tour avec une série de coups de poing sans réponse.

HAMPTON, New Hampshire (Novembre 13, 2017) – Granite Chin Promotions invades the Granite State on Samedi, Décembre 9, showcasing some of New England’s top professional boxers on the “Rumble at The Rim” carte, at The Rim in Hampton, New Hampshire.
A portion of the proceeds will go to Hampton Youth Association.
“We are excited to bring Granite Chin to New Hampshire,” organisateur Chuck Shearns dit. “The town of Hampton and its officials have really embraced us. We have teamed up with a great charity, Hampton Youth Association. The state boxing commission has been extremely encouraging and cooperative, ce qui, nettement, is not something we are used to and that’s been a breath of fresh air. We’re going to put on a good event and plan to be back more often next year.”

Former N.E. champion poids welter Derek Silveira (12-1, 6 KOs), fighting out of Salem (MA), will headline against an opponent to be determined in the eight-round main event.

WORCESTER, Masse. (Janvier 20, 2017) – Boxing returned to Worcester last night (Jeudi) for the first time in more than five years to the delight of a capacity crowd of 2,100 passionate fans at the Palladium.
The inaugural event of the “L'avenir de la Nouvelle-Angleterre” série, présenté par Promotions Rivera Divertissement, featured 10 combats bourrés d'action, highlighted by rising Worcester featherweight prospect Irvin Gonzalez (5-0, 5 KOs).
“The support we received from the sold out crowd was exciting for our first show,” ledit promoteur Jose Antonio Rivera, the former 3-time, 2-champion du monde de division. “We working on our second show in March, bien sûr, right here in Worcester.”
The 20-year-old Gonzalez was absolutely relentless in the main event, fright rom the opening bell, throwing a barrage of unanswered punches from every conceivable angle, repeatedly hurting his Mexican foe, Israël “Tigre” Ramos (9-15, 3 KOs), including a late first-round knockdown. Gonzalez didn’t let up in the second, firing crisp punches, until Rojas hit the canvas early in the second frame and referee Steve Clark had seen enough, stopping the one-sided fight.
Gonzalez is continuing the rich Worcester boxing tradition. “I’m always relentless,” Gonzalez said with a smile. “It was great fighting in the main event at home. I heard the crowd and really appreciated their support. I hurt him early and I almost took him out in the first round with a body punch. I finished him off with a right in the second. None of my fights have gone the distance, but I prepared to go the full six tonight, if needed.”
Gonzalez takes off Dimanche o report to undefeated Guillermo Rigondeaux’ training camp in Miami, where he’ll work with the reigning WBA super bantamweight world champion and 2-time Olympic gold medalist.
Invaincu Rayon “Bazooka” Gracewski (5-0, 3 KOs), combats de Springfield (MA), was on a search-and-destroy mission in the co-feature against Worcester super middleweight Ralph Johnson (2-10, 1 KO), who was dropped three times before referee Kevin Hope halted the fight.

WORCESTER, Masse. (Janvier 11, 2017) – Fast rising featherweight prospect Irvin Gonzalez (4-0, 4 KOs) will continue Worcester’s rich boxing tradition Jeudinuit, Janvier 19, headlining the inaugural “L'avenir de la Nouvelle-Angleterre” series event against Mexican invader Israël “Tigre” Rojas (9-14, 3 KOs), at the Worcester Palladium.
Divertissement Promotions Rivera Les (À propos de nous), is promoting the first professional boxing show in the Central Massachusetts city in more than five years.

Worcester’s boxing tradition started close to a century ago with Canadian import Lou Brouillard, a two-division world champion and Hall of Famer, 1928 médaillé de bronze olympique Leo Sawicki, and more recently, entre autres, pro and amateur standouts such as multiple national amateur champion Bobby Harris, Sean “The Irish Express” Fitzgerald Sean et Edwin Rodriguez.
Arguably the greatest Worcester fighter in the past 50 years is three-time, champion du monde de deux-division Jose Antonio “Le Gallo” Rivera, who is promoting “L'avenir de la Nouvelle-Angleterre” with his son, Antoine. “I have seen Irvin train and fight since he was in the Junior Olympics,” Rivera a déclaré. “I am very proud of him because he was able to discover on his own that he was getting in his own way. He was always a talented fighter but, at times in the ring, he was inconsistent and it cost him a few fights. As he got older, he boxed more talented boxers and looked good against them. He started believing in himself more and it showed in his training. His abilities and confidence grew and that got him all the way to the Olympic Trials. I feel he has the skills to become world champion in the future. The sky is the limit for this young man and I am proud to have him fighting on our show.”
Gonzalez, une 2015 Nouvelle-Angleterre d'or Gloves champion, will be headlining his first show in his first scheduled six-round bout. “Fighting in my hometown in the main event means a lot to me because,” Gonzalez admitted. “I’ve grown up in this city, fighting my whole life, and of people who’ve supported me will be watching me fight for the first time as a pro. Je suis surexcité. I’m comfortable fighting here in Worcester and I want to showcase the boxing talent we have in Worcester.”
Gonzalez qualified for the 2016 Olympic Trials but he was eliminated, not due to a loss in the ring, for missing weight. He decided not to wait four years for another Olympic shot, turning pro this past March with a first-round stoppage of Gilvan Santos au Foxwoods Resort Casino. In four pro fights to date, Gonzalez has four knockouts and only one was extended into the second round.
“I was always told that I had a pro boxing style,” the well-spoken, handsome Gonzalez continued, “but we didn’t immediately decide to turn pro until the time was right. I had some stoppages as an amateur but, comme un pro, I’ve been going more to the body. I do have heavy hands. I don’t go into a fight looking for a knockout. I just let ’em come but I’ve prepared to go six rounds if needed for this fight. I’ve been sparring eight rounds with different guys coming in fresh.”
In addition to being a prize fighter, the 20-year-old Gonzalez works at a bank and he also owns and operates New England Boxing gym with his father, former boxer Irvin Gonzalez, where the youngster serves as a personal trainer.

Shearns made his amateur debut at the age of 29, 10 Des années plus tard he made his professional debut. “I grew up watching boxing with my father (Jean), who boxed in the Navy, and my grandfather (Jean),” Shearns explained. “My grandfather was a club fighter, si, boxing was in my blood. I only had four amateur fights and one day I met “Fitzy,” who is now one of my closest friends. (Fitzgerald Sean, one of Worcester’s all-time best boxers, who is Shearns’ head trainer.) I told him I wanted one pro fight and asked him to train me.”

Shearns has the complete support of his family and co-workers, who will all be at the Worcester Palladium supporting him Jan. 19. “Ma femme (Karen) and two daughters (Kayla and Olivia) have always been there for me,” Shearns noted. “My wife supports me and has jokingly said, ‘We’re getting divorced if you lose this fight.’ I’ve worked at Lundgren Honda for about 20 years and most of the 100-plus employees there will be at my fight. I did want to fight one more time before I turn 50. When Jose asked me to fight, how could I pass up this final opportunity?”
