Old-time Las Vegas grudge match headlines June 10th “Knockout Night at the D” Demond Brock vs. Chuy Gutierrez

LAS VEGAS (Svibanj 31, 2016) – An old-time grudge match between lightweights Demond “Body Shot” Jazavac a Chuy “Hurrican” Gutierrez will headline the third installment of the “Knockout Night at the D” serija, Petak noć, Lipanj 10, provjetravanje (11 poslije podne. Jazavac (11-3-1, 4 Kos) will defend his USNBC title against former USNBC lightweight champ Gutierrez (14-0-1, 4 Kos), who never lost his belt in the ring, which has set the stage for this Las Vegas showdown to determine who the USNBC belt truly belongs to. Adding fuel to the fire is the fact both fighters train in Las Vegas and have growing fan-bases.
The 35-year-old Brock, who fights out of Kenner, Louisiana, learned to box in the Louisiana State Penitentiary, while serving his 14 ½-year sentence there for armed robbery. In prison, he won 39 od 40 fights with 17 miševa, eventually finishing his amateur career with an outstanding 54-3 rekord.
Last November in El Paso, Teksas, the RJJ-promoted Brock upset 9-1-1 Oscar Valenzuela, capturing the vacant WBC United States (USNBC) lightweight title by way of a unanimous 8-round decision.
Gutierrez is from Sinaloa, Meksiko, the home of Hall-of-Famer Julio Cesar Chavez among many other top fighters born there. A love of baseball kept Gutierrez occupied, do, as he says, “boxing found me.” Gutierrez was attending college at South Nevada and working, still dreaming of becoming a major league baseball player, when he walked into the famed Johnny Tocco’s Ringside Boxing gym at the age of 21.
Bitten by the boxing bug, Gutierrez turned pro in in 2010 and he’s rapidly developed into a fan-friendly fighter, largely due to his aggressive, entertaining style. U 2014, Gutierrez won an 8-round majority decision over Rashad Ganaway(14-4-1) for the vacant USNBC lightweight crown.
The unbeaten Gutierrez wants his belt back and he’s determined to take it from Brock, tko, naravno, believes otherwise. They will settle the score Lipanj 10th in the 10-round main event that promises fireworks.

LAS VEGAS (Svibanj 21, 2016) – Determined Phoenix middleweight Andrija “Uragan” Hernandez shocked heavy favorite Arif “The Pedator” Magomedov in tonight’s main event on the “Knockout Night at the D” kartica, which aired live on CBS Sports Network from under the neon lights at the Downtown Las Vegas Događanja Centar (DLVEC) outdoor venue.

“This fight changes everything for me,” Hernandez proclaimed. “He’s very good and deserves all of the accolades he’s received but I now have my head on straight and I’m focused. My jab was very important tonight. He’s very strong but I wanted to fight him inside because I knew he couldn’t take it from me. Bio sam vrlo pripremljen. Southpaw super welterweights Jovan “Phenom” Vera (14-0, 9 Kos), of Fort Worth, and Phoenix’ Joey “Boksač” Ruelas (10-2-1, 4 Kos) went toe-to-toe from the opening bell and they never let up in the co-feature. Vera exploded in the round of this firestorm, battering the game Ruelas around, until referee Jay NADY halted the action in the sixth round. Vera remained undefeated and retained his NABA-USA title.
“I knew eventually he’d put his hands down and I’d catch him,” Vera explained. “I thank him for the opportunity to fight. He’s helluva fighter, I give him that, but I know I’m a warrior. I took some shots but gave ’em, previše. I broke him down and just kept throwing those lefts.”

In the TV opener, boxing prodigy Devin “The Dream” Haney (6-0, 4 Kos) made history as the 17-year-old – a junior in high school – became the youngest American professional boxer to fight on national television. Nady stopped the fight without counting when a badly hurt Vargas (4-1, 3 Kos) hit the deck hard.
“I happy that I put on a good performance for my fans,” Haney commented after the fight. “My team put together the strategy to use my jab and breakdown his body. I picked up my combinations did what I was told to do.”

In a battle of Texas junior welterweights, Tony Lopez (11-1, 4 Kos) dropped previously unbeaten Jerren “Hardknocks” Cochran (11-1-1, 4 Kos) twice with lefts in the opening round and finished him off in the second, knocking him out cold with a punishing right.
“Two mores seconds and I would have finished him off in the first,” Lopez remarked. “My corner told me that, after the lefts, come back with a right. They gave me the game plan and I executed.”

U uvodnom meču, Las Vegas favorite Jeremy “J Flash” Nichols (4-0, 2 Kos) dominated Puerto Rican welterweight Srpanj “El Indio” Santos (2-3, 1 KO) on his way to a win by unanimous 4-round decision.
“I know I could have done a little better, throwing more combinations and jab,” Nichols said. “He came in trying but he couldn’t fight. I sent him back to Puerto Rico with a loss.”

LAS VEGAS – “Knockout Night at the D,” the boxing fight card to feature headliners Zab Judah vs. Josh Torres at the Downtown Las Vegas Događanja Centar (DLVEC), has been cancelled for Subota, Ožujak 12.

After our discussions, it became apparent the fight card could not move forward. Claggett (23-3-1, 16 Kos), 26, is the reigning Canadian Professional Boxing Council and Canadian welterweight titles. As an amateur in Calgary, he captured four Alberta Championships and three Golden Gloves titles, all prior to his 18th rođendan.
At the famous Wildcard Gym in Los Angeles, Claggett gained invaluable experience working with Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach. He also benefitted from working out at Mayweather Gym in Las Vegas, where he learned from trainer Roger Mayweather, and sparred there with two-division world champion Jesse Vargas. During his 7 ½ year career, Claggett has also sparred with great fighters such as Judah and Alfonso Gomez, kao i Urbano Antillon during training camp in preparation for his world title fight against Humberto Soto.
