MONTREAL (Julho 23, 2016) – Undefeated No. 1 peso pesado luz Eleider “Tempestade” Alvarez (19-0, 10 KOs) has found a solid boxer to face him on the Julho 29 cartão, featuring the WBC and lineal world light heavyweight title fight between defending champion Adônis “Super-homem” Stevenson (27-1, 22 KOs) e challenger Thomas Williams Jr. (20-1, 14 KOs), at the Videotron Centre. WBC Silver light heavyweight champion Alvarez will face New Zealand southpaw slugger Robert “The Butcher” Berridge (27-4-1, 21 KOs).
The Alvarez-Berridge co-feature, programado para 10 rounds at a 180-pound catch-weight, will air on Spike TV nos Estados Unidos. Named “The Butcher” because of his aggressive style and power, the 31-year-old Australian sputhpaw has won the several regional titles during his pro career including New Zealand (2013 e 2015), WBC Asia (2013), PABA (2013-2014) and WBO Oriental (2013-2014).

Irish Heavyweight Sensation Con Sheenan to fight July 28
Toronto, Ontario, Canadá (Junho 15, 2016) – Six-time Irish amateur champion Cornelius “Con” Sheehan is set to make his Canadian debut against an opponent to be named Quinta-feira, Julho 28 at the Danforth Music Hall in Toronto, Ontario.

World Championship Boxing: The Next Generation Series Begins July 28 em Toronto

Toronto, Ontario, Canadá (Junho 13, 2016) – Lee Baxter Promotions is proud to announce the start of a new series in Canada “World Championship Boxing: The Next Generation” kicking off Quinta-feira, Julho 28 at Danforth Music Hall in Toronto, Ontario.
The series will feature up and coming fighters looking to get to the next level in the near future. Most of the boxers are from Canada but some will travel from various parts of the globe to showcase their skills.
"I’ve had the idea of doing this for awhile and am glad it’s officially coming to fruition,” said Lee Baxter. “Canada has many talented fighters hungry to make it to the next level. Infelizmente, there aren’t the same amount of opportunities here that there are elsewhere. It also took me awhile to to find the right venue and I’m glad we found it at the Danforth Music Hall here in Tornoto because it’s a great place. The goal of “World Championship Boxing: “The Next Generation” is to provide a platform for fighters that believe they can make a name for themselves and aspire to make it to the top in this sport.”
No evento principal, super featherweight Alex Dilmaghani (10-1, 2 KO) makes his Canada debut in a ten round bout. Nascido na Inglaterra, the 24-year-old had his first eight bouts in England before relocating to Mexico for his last three fights. Em 2016, Dilmaghani moved to Canada and signed with Lee Baxter Promotions. This is his first fighter under their banner and he’s looking to make a big statement.
Lightweight Steven Wilcox of Hamilton, Ontario will fight in the eight round co-feature. With an outstanding 13-1-1 record and five wins by knockout, the slick southpaw fought for the WBC International championship in 2015, battling undefeated Mick Gadbois to a draw. The popular Wilcox has been matched tough the last few years and his lone defeat came via controversial decision.
Tim “The Irish” Cronin, 7-1-1 (2 KO) is scheduled to box in a six round light heavyweight contest. Desde soltando sua estréia profissional, the Etobicoke, Ontario native is undefeated in eight fights.

MONTREAL (Junho 4) – As the world mourns the loss of Muhammad Ali, Sábado night’s Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) on ESPN and ESPN Deportes telecast began with a “Ceremonial 10-Count” in memory of “O Melhor” and continued to pay tribute to him throughout the telecast that was headlined by a light heavyweight bout between hard-hitting Russian Olympian Artur Beterbiev against Argentina’s Ezequiel Maderna.
The 31-year-old Beterbiev (10-0, 10 KOs), who fights out of Montreal, returned to the ring after an almost year-long layoff following shoulder surgery. Now seven months removed from the procedure, Beterbiev looked sharp from the opening bell as he threw straight right hands and body shots effectively to start the fight.
Maderna, who was also coming off of a long layoff, was hoping to make a statement in his first fight on North American soil as he moved up in weight for this bout. Beterbiev utilized his power and precision to control the entire fight, but kicked it into high gear in the third round, sending the 29-year-old Maderna to the canvas with two right hands. He stood up, but soon after was sent to the canvas again. Desta vez, spitting out his mouth piece to delay the bout causing Referee Marlon B. Wright to deduct a point.
At the start of round four, Maderna was dropped with a punishing right hand. He rose to his feet only find himself canvas agan, looking at his corner, they threw in the towel and the fight was stopped at 54 seconds of round four.
”I am really satisfied by my performance,” said Beterbiev. “I want to thank my team for their patience during my inactivity.”
”My guy did really well after an absence of a year,” said Beterbiev’s trainer Marc Ramsay. “He is very special. In a short or medium period of time, we want to fight in a world championship.”
The PBC on ESPN telecast, which is the first of seven between Junho 4 e Agosto 12, opened with two welterweight southpaws facing off in hopes of maintaining their undefeated records. Contudo, it didn’t take long for Florida’s Bryant Perrella (14-0, 13 KOs) to prove he was the better man as he scored a second round TKO over Washington, D.C.’s David Grayton (14-1, 10 KOs).
Grayton was more active at the beginning of the fight, working his right hand on the inside. Perrella used his longer reach and height difference to his advantage as he did his best to dictate the pace. Perrella knocked Grayton down in the beginning of the second round and became forceful with the right hand as Grayton left himself open to punishment. Finalmente, Perrella threw a left that caused Grayton to stumble and referee David Griffin waved off the fight at 2:19.
“He came in real tough – a tough competitor,” Disse Perrella. “I was the best man tonight. I caught him with some really hard shots, dazed him. I took my time, I listened to what my team said and got him out of there.
“This is tremendous,” Perella continued. “This is what we’ve been wanting for a while to fight another undefeated prospect and get the recognition we feel we deserve. The welterweight division is filled with lions, tigers and bears, but I’m Tarzan baby. I’m the king of this jungle. I’m ready for whatever.”
Also featured on the telecast was a six-round super welterweight contest between prospect Jamontay Clark (10-0, 6 KOs) of Cincinnati and Mexican warrior Edgar Ortega (16-6, 10 KOs). The game Ortega shocked the six-foot-two Clark in the first round, sending him to the canvas with a hard right hand. Clark regained his composure in between the first and second, controlling the fight from then on. Despite taking the fight with nine days’ aviso prévio, Ortega stayed with Clark all six rounds, even rolling his ankle in the fourth. After the final bell rung, Clark remained undefeated, registering a unanimous decision victory with the judges scoring the bout 58-55 e 58-54 (duas vezes).
