“Je me sens vraiment bien mentalement et physiquement en ce moment. Mon corps est reposé et prêt à avoir un grand 2018 départ Février 17.
“Vous devez être concentré pour réussir dans un combat comme celui-ci et je pense que Brandon Rios sait que. Je suis une formation difficile donc j'espère qu'il est trop. Je ne vais jamais prendre un combat au large.
“C'est un combat classique d'un boxeur perforateur par rapport à un bagarreur. Je vais être prêt pour tout et début 2018 bon pied. Je dois être le chasseur que j'ai toujours été.
“Je suis en bonne santé et fort et prêt à se battre. Je suis en train de la perte de Keith Thurman derrière moi et aller de l'avant. Je dois me concentrer sur Danny Garcia être sur Février 17. Je ne peux pas appuyer et essayer d'en faire trop, Je dois juste obtenir la victoire.
“Nous étions tous les deux champions en même temps à 140 livres et nous ne l'avons pas eu la chance de se battre alors, mais il est question de timing dans la boxe. Les choses ont tendance à travailler et maintenant nous sommes prêts à aller en tête-à-tête.
“Je ne vers le bas et je sais que Brandon Rios voit en moi. Je viens toujours à se battre. Ça va être un grand match avec nos styles et notre détermination.
“J'aime regarder les trois derniers combats de mon adversaire. Je pense que cela me donne une bonne indication de ce qu'il va ressembler à la nuit de combat. Je regarde la bande de mon dernier combat trop afin que nous puissions obtenir un grand plan de jeu ensemble.
“Je me sentais comme si je battais un bon combat contre Thurman. Il n'a pas vraiment engager. Je pensais après le quatrième tour, il a été essentiellement ombre boxe. Je ne le blâme pas parce que vous devez être stupide pour se tenir devant moi. Nous allons faire quelques ajustements et d'ajouter à ce que je fais déjà bien.
“Je n'ai pas offert la lutte Shawn Porter, mais je pense que ce serait un grand combat. Il aime à se présenter et je suis un grand boxeur et contre-perforateur. Je pense que les fans adoreraient, mais Shawn Porter doit faire attention à ce qu'il souhaiter.”
BRANDON RIOS
“Tout le monde connaît mon style. Je ne suis pas ici pour danser, Je viens pour combattre. Je vais là-bas avec mon coeur pour montrer au monde que je suis toujours l'un des meilleurs là-bas.
“Je me sens fort et je me sens rajeuni. Mon corps avait besoin de repos parce que tous mes combats sont les guerres. Il a fallu un péage sur mon corps et maintenant je me sens aussi bien que jamais. Je suis prêt à montrer au monde un autre Brandon Rios.
“Vous devez vous battre le meilleur pour essayer d'être le meilleur. Danny Garcia a été au sommet de ce sport depuis longtemps. Je suis toujours prêt pour un test.
“Je avais l'habitude de ne pas prendre toujours la formation et mon poids aussi sérieusement que je devrais. J'étais jeune et stupide et je fait des erreurs. Ces erreurs sont dans mon passé et je suis en grande forme en ce moment.
“Je me suis entraîné très dur d'avoir un réservoir plein d'essence la nuit de combat. Je aurais pu rester à la retraite, mais je l'ai toujours en moi et il y a encore plus je peux sortir de ce sport. J'aime vraiment la boxe et je suis très heureux d'être de retour dans un grand combat comme celui-ci.
“Je suis toujours confiant quand je suis dans le ring. Ayant Robert Garcia là-bas est d'avoir mon frère avec moi. Il est juste une autre voix que je suis habitué et que je fais confiance.
“Être de retour dans le ring était un éprouvant pour les nerfs peu mais je suis heureux d'avoir la rouille anneau de. Je fait ce que je devais faire et il était heureux de passer à travers cette expérience. Je suis vraiment reconnaissant d'être dans cette position pour combattre Danny Garcia.
“Je suis prêt à se battre l'un des meilleurs combattants. J'ai attendu et pris mon temps parce que je savais que je me battrais celui qui redoublerait. Je suis ce que je voulais et maintenant il est temps de profiter.”
DAVID BENAVIDEZ
“Je dois faire une déclaration sur Février 17. Je quitte Mandalay Bay avec la ceinture sur l'épaule. Je dois obtenir le knock-out et c'est ce que je cherche à faire.
“Cela a été mon rêve depuis que je suis un petit enfant pour unifier les titres et c'est ce que je travaille maintenant à. Je veux être l'un des meilleurs dans l'histoire de la classe de poids et je travaille très dur pour y parvenir.
“Je suis le plus jeune champion du monde des super-moyens dans l'histoire et je vais montrer pourquoi Gavril. Je suis extrêmement motivé pour encore mieux que la dernière fois et obtenir le knock-out.
“J'ai grandi à l'époque où tout le monde a combattu tout le monde. Il y avait tellement d'énergie et d'excitation à chaque combat et c'est ce que je suis à la recherche d'apporter aux fans. Cela va être un grand combat que vous ne voulez pas manquer.
“Je me sens comme je l'ai gagné le premier combat clairement. Gavril pense qu'il va venir me frapper maintenant, mais s'il a tellement confiance, il aurait dû le faire dans le premier combat. Je suis une formation extrêmement difficile en ce moment d'aller là-bas et lui déchirer.
“La stratégie de ce combat sera un peu différent. Nous avons des choses que nous planification. Mais il va encore être une guerre, parce que je veux être un fan combattant amical. J'espère voler la vedette.
“Je suis le champion donc je sens que je suis en mesure de faire quelques grands combats dans un proche avenir. Je veux que le vainqueur du monde de boxe Super Series tournoi 168 livres. Je suis honoré d'être dans la même colonne que les autres champions et je ne peux pas attendre pour obtenir dans le ring avec eux.
“Je ne négligez pas Gavril la première fois. Je savais qu'il était un compétiteur et il est venu en dur et prêt à se battre. Je sais que son style maintenant, donc je vais aller travailler mieux en mieux. Il y avait beaucoup de choses que je l'aurais fait dans le premier combat. Je vais profiter cette fois-ci.”

“Je ne pensais pas qu'il était aussi bon que les gens ont dit qu'il allait dans notre premier combat. Il n'avait pas combattu les vrais combattants, si vous avez vu ce qui est arrivé quand il est allé contre un.
“Je suis vraiment heureux d'être ici et d'être dans cette position pour un match revanche. Je tiens à remercier David Benavidez d'avoir accepté de me battre. Je pensais que j'ai gagné le premier combat alors je savais que je voulais immédiatement. Je gagnais ce match retour.
“J'ai beaucoup appris du premier combat. Je sais ce que je dois faire mieux cette fois-ci. La stratégie sera ajustée et je vais travailler encore plus dur dans le camp pour être prêt. Je travaille d'être le meilleur que je peux mentalement et physiquement.
“Il est un jeune combattant qui a encore beaucoup de choses à apprendre. En ce moment, il est le champion, mais il devra être prêt. Ce ne sera pas un combat facile pour lui. Je vais là-bas pour lui faire du mal et gagner le combat.
“Je peux faire beaucoup de choses mieux que dans le premier combat. Je l'ai prouvé que j'ai les compétences dans le premier match, et je vais maintenant améliorer pour obtenir la victoire. Je suis ici pour une raison. Il ne va pas être un combat facile pour lui.
“Je ne pense qu'à David Benavidez en ce moment. Je mets tout dans ce match retour et obtenir la ceinture. Quand je gagne, Le reste prendra soin de lui-même.”

Garcia (33-1, 19 KOs) was a unified world champion at super lightweight and welterweight and has fought and defeated many of the most formidable opponents in both divisions spanning two generations-Morales, Zab Judah, Kendall Holt, Amir Khan, Lucas Matthysse, Paulie Malignaggi and Lamont Peterson among them. The 21-year-old Benavidez (19-0, 17 KOs) became the youngest reigning world champion in boxing and the youngest 168-pound champion in history at 20-years, nine months old when he scored a split decision against Gavril to win the super middleweight title on Septembre 8. The bout featured multiple swings of momentum, thrilling exchanges and a wild 12e tour. Benavidez and Gavril pushed each other to deliver the best performance of their respective careers thus far.
“I feel I won the fight,” said Gavril immediately after the decision. “I dominated the pace. I can’t say anything else… The only thing I can do is to ask for a rematch.”

“This is a fight that my father, my team and I decided to take again to show everybody that I’m really the champion and there’s more to me than just being the youngest world champion,” Benavidez said. “I feel like I’m the better fighter and I’m going to definitely show it this time. I learned from that first fight that he puts on a lot of pressure. He likes to throw at the same time that I’m throwing. There are a couple different approaches to take against that. It’s going to be a great night of fights. Danny Garcia and ‘Bam Bam’ Rios, these are two fighters I look up to in the sport and it’s an honor to fight in their undercard. My training has been going well. We decided to bring in a strength and conditioning coach and I feel really strong. I believe I’ll be very prepared.”
Gavril (18-2, 14 KOs) rose rapidly through the ranks by scoring seven straight victories including four by knockout since 2015. The 31-year-old Gavril was born in Bacau, Romania and now lives and fights out of Las Vegas. He fought a brilliant match against Benavidez, seizing control in the middle rounds and even dropping the young contender in the 12e with less than a minute left in the fight. LANCASTER, COMME. Herrera had his best round in the fourth when he changed the tides momentarily by being more active than Rios.
“I’m always ready for whoever they put in front of me,” said Rios. “He was tough and he was swinging hard. I had to be careful and couldn’t go in there crazy. He caught me sometimes but that’s part of the sport.”
The shift did not last long as Rios ramped the pressure back up and began to slow Herrera down with increased body work. Herrera kept fighting back but was clearly tiring late in the sixth round as Rios teed off on him against the ropes with big power punches.
“Next time I get in there I’ll be better,” said Rios. “You’ll see more progress each time I get out there. I still have my same style but I’m adding some more athleticism and head movement to it. I felt like I did well in there.”
The attack continued in the seventh round as Rios stalked Herrera towards the ropes before eventually delivering the pinpoint right hook to the body that put Herrera on the mat. Herrera was unable to beat the count and Rios returned to the win column with a stoppage victory2:11 dans la ronde.
“This is a new beginning and a new chapter in the book that I’m writing,” said Rios. “We’re ready to move forward from here. I’m ready for the next challenge.”
The co-main event of the telecast saw unbeaten Mario Barrios (19-0, 11 KOs) score a sensational knockout of José Luis Rodriguez (23-9-1, 13 KOs) with left hook to the body that ended their super lightweight battle in the seventh round.
“I knew that he was going to fight the whole time,” Saïd Barrios. “He was going to stay coming in and I had to keep my distance. I stunned him with an overhand and then I found him on the liver.”
Barrios was impressive from the start, using his length to pick off his opponent with powerful uppercuts in the opening minutes of the bout. Despite taking numerous clean power shots from Barrios throughout the battle, Rodriguez never stopped attacking and was able to occasionally frustrate Barrios with his relentless physicality.
The bout was eventually defined by the powerful body shots that Barrios dedicated himself to delivering throughout the fight. The consistent effort clearly slowed Rodriguez, who took more and more clean punches as the fight went on.
Early in round seven Barrios’ attack finally wore Rodriguez down as a series of punches culminating with the left to the body put Rodriguez on the canvas. Referee Zac Young quickly called off the bout 37 seconds into the round to give Barrios his third straight knockout victory.
“I want to fight everyone in the 140-pound weight class,” Saïd Barrios. “I’m going to take it one fight at a time and work my way up to a world title shot.”

As the action heated up in round four, Borrego connected with a massive left hook that stunned and bloodied Watts’ right eye.

Borrego kept up the attack and eventually sent Watts to the canvas with another left hand over two minutes into the round. While Watts returned to his feet, Borrego quickly cornered him and delivered another flurry that forced referee Jack Reiss to halt the bout 2:42 dans la ronde.

“I’m just ready to get back to the top. I know that I have to climb the ladder and that’s what I’m here for.
“When I said that I was done, I was done. Eventually though I started getting that urge again, to get on that stage and perform on TV. My wife told me that if I wanted to fight again, I had to come back dedicated.
“It’s really cool to be fighting right after the Mexico vs. USA match. I’m a Mexican-American but I live in the United States so it’ll be USA vs. Mexico in the ring as well when I face Herrera.
“I know that I have a very skilled, tough opponent. He’s working with Juan Manuel Marquez and he’s very experienced. He’s faced some really tough opponents. It’s going to be a good fight to get back in the ring with.
“I felt like I needed a new voice in my corner. There’s nothing against (former trainer) Robert Garcia, I respect him and he got me to where I am today, but I felt like I got too used to that situation.
“I told (Rios’ entraîneur) Ricky Funez that I wanted to come back and have him train me and thankfully he was excited to work with me. We started working really hard and we took some time to get to know each other more and more.
“I Googled ‘Southern California boxing trainers’ and Ten Goose Boxing and Ricky came up, and I decided to hit him up. So I direct messaged him on Instagram and the rest is history.
“I feel like I’m in really good shape after working with a nutritionist for the first time. My nutritionist is with me 12 hours a day and it’s had me feeling great heading into this fight.
“I’ve always been a brawler, but I’m capable of boxing, especially with my inside game. The way I can deflect punches is a strength.
“I’m just ready to get back to the top. I know that I have to climb the ladder and that’s what I’m here for.”

“Training Brandon was a good challenge for me but he has been disciplined from the very start. I laid it all out for him from the beginning, I just wanted a good response from him and he said he’s going to work hard.
