Full Card Announced for Saturday Night’s ‘Detroit Brawl’ at Masonic Temple

An owner of 340 amateur wins, he made it to the United States finals where he lost to eventual Olympian, Errol Spence Jr. Martin turned pro in 2013 and is yet to lose. The 26-year-old picked up four victories in 2015 and will begin 2016 against the 29-year-old Nicaraguan Gomez who will be making his U.S. debut.

“Training is good. I really do not know much about Gomez, but that doesn’t matter much at all because I just go in there and like to fight.”
Martin is ready to showcase his skills for the first time in front of a nationally televised audience and he knows this is just the beginning of positioning himself into bigger fights.
“It is a big step for me. This will show me and the fans how good I am and where I can go in my career.”

Sampson Boxing Wins Right to Promote McJoe Arroyo vs. Jerwin Ancajas IBF Super Flyweight Championship Fight

A purse bid procedure was held today in the IBF offices in New Jersey and promoter Sampson Lewkowicz of Sampson Boxing has won the right to promote the IBF Super Flyweight Champion McJoe Arroyo’s first mandatory defense, against Jerwin Ancajas
Sampson Boxing now has 15 days to submit the executed contracts (no later than Februari 17, 2016) and the fight must take place dalam 90 hari hari or by Mei 2, 2016. Lewkowicz says Ancajas’ home country of the Philippines is the probable location for the fight.
Arroyo (17-0, 8 Biaya), from Fajardo, Puerto Rico, is a 30-year-old southpaw. He won the championship last July with a 10-round technical decision over Arthur Villanueva. Ancajas (24-1-1, 16 Biaya), dijuluki “Pretty Boy” is a 24-year-old southpaw.

Batu api, MY (Februari. 2, 2016) – Olympic bronze medalist and super middleweight star Andre Dirrell has taken matters into his own hands with a grassroots effort to raise funds in toward the purchase of clean water for those affected by the poisoned water crisis in his hometown of Flint. President Obama, bulan lalu, declared a national state of emergency in Flint, Michigan, whose water supply was contaminated with toxic levels of lead when its source was changed from Lake Huron to the Flint River. The super middleweight has already donated thousands of dollars of his own money toward the purchase of clean water for Flint residents and is imploring his fellow fighters and everyone in the boxing community to do what they can to help.
“As an athlete, I have a great appreciation for the importance of water in someone’s life,” Kata Dirrell. “You can’t train without water, but the people of Flint need it for much more than drinking. They need to bath, cook and stay alive. This is a tragedy and I feel as though I’m in a position to not only do what I can to help these people, but encourage my fellow fighters and the whole boxing community to do what they can.
“On a personal note, I have over 30 family members living in Flint can possibly be poisoned, including six or seven of my nieces and nephews who range from the ages of 2-13. It hurts knowing that there are serious long-term effects, especially on young kids. If those were my kids, I would want something to be done. Let’s help save my city.”

Originally from Los Angeles but fighting and training out of Las Vegas, Bellows enters this fight on an eight-bout winning streak. The 30-year-old will look to continue to keep the momentum going as he builds on to his four wins from 2015 and earn world title contender status in 2016.

Atlantic City Boxing Hall of Fame and Claridge Hotel looking to bring boxing back to the boardwalk

Atlantic City, NJ (Februari 1, 2016) – The Atlantic City Boxing Hall of Fame is proud to announce it’s alliance with with the Claridge Hotel in Atlantic City, NJ that will constitute bringing 6 events to the Historic Hotel in 2016.

Four of the events will be fight nights promoted by Rising Promotions, in the Celebrity Theatre venue with the first event being held on Sabtu Maret 19, 2016

Two other major events are being planned which includes the inaugural induction class set for this fall as well as signature events that will appeal to boxing fans around the world.

The Atlantic City Boxing Hall of Fame has assisted various promoters over the past two years in securing events and venues and will continue it’s effort to restore the shore community to being a mecca and destination for future boxing events.

IMMOKALEE, FL. “He has a lot of power. He’s not the best guy I’ve faced but he did enough to get the win tonight.”
JOSEPH ELEGELE
“I felt good out there. I did my thing. I told everybody that I was going to stop this guy and that’s what I did.
“I doubled my left hand and I knew I hurt him. He couldn’t take any more shots so I finished him.
“I want to fight someone in the top 15. I want to compete with the best. It’s my time.”
DENNIS GALARZA
“My opponent was very tough. We fought eight hard rounds with a veteran.
“I wanted to get him out of there but we stayed patient and stuck to the game plan. I’m getting better every time out there.
“It’s my second time going eight rounds and soon I’ll be ready for ten rounds anyone that wants to get in there with me.
SAMUEL AMAOKO
“I went out and gave it my all. I thought it was closer and that I was landing some shots with more power.
“He is a very good fighter but I fought well and tried to get the win.”
