Honorees:

Golden Glove Award recipient – Алиша “Масна” Ashley has broken down barriers, and her success inside the squared-circle has lad to international recognition, being televised more than 10 times worldwide. Ashley’s notable career highlights are extensive, with her most recent achievement being obtaining the 2015 WBC World Super Bantamweight World Champion title, becoming the oldest female boxer to hold a world title.
Young Trailblazers Award recipient- Vashti Cunningham has taken the world by storm after earning her first opportunity to participate in the Olympics this summer. 2016 has been a breakthrough year for her after graduating from Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas; the teenager set the new national high school record, jumped a mark equivalent to #3 in the world and World Youth Best, signed a deal with Nike, and turned professional all before the age of 18.
Titans of the Trade Award recipient – Marian Rhodes works behind the scenes for the Arizona Diamondbacks and has re-developed their human resources functions while reinforcing a workplace culture where the some of best and brightest in the sports industry want to work; she implemented programs that invested in the employees throughout the organization, which resulted in the D-backs being named one of the “Best Places to Work” во Феникс, becoming the first sports organization to win such an honor.

MAYFIELD WANTS EYUBOV REMATCH: I WAS ROBBED!

Having had a week to consider his controversial decision loss to Kazakhstan’s Bakhtiyar Eyubov (11-0, 10 КО), San Francisco welterweight Karim Mayfield says he’s not happy.
Fighting in the opening fight on ShoBox: The New Generation® last Friday, Август 19, at Rhinos Stadium in Rochester, Њујорк, Мејфилд (19-4-1, 11 КО) appeared to outpunch and outwork his unbeaten foe, especially in the last four rounds. Despite having the statistical advantage – and winning in the eyes of the Showtime commentators, most of the ringside media, the fans in attendance and a worldwide outcry – Mayfield found himself on the wrong side of a 10-round split decision (95-94 twice for Eyubov and 95-94 for Mayfield) at the end of their exciting battle.
“I’m pretty upset about it,” Саид Мејфилд. “I trained hard for that fight. I was finally able to get a normal eight-week camp to train and train for a specific fighter. I haven’t had that in a long time. It felt great to be that focused, but to get it stolen from me is not a good feeling. A lot of time fighters lose and think they won, but this isn’t like that. Mayfield says if Eyubov won’t give him a rematch (he was non-committal post-fight), Showtime should have him back in a high-profile match-up.
“I deserve to be brought back. I’ve beaten some good guys. Eyubov is just one. I beat Mauricio Herrera. I beat Francisco Santana. I beat them and they got big opportunities. Give me a fair shake! I’ll fight anybody if the paper is right.”

Perrella-Ugas set for September 27

Fort Myers, FL (Август 25, 2016) – Hard-hitting welterweight standout Bryant “Goodfella” Perrella will challenge Cuban contender Yordenis Ugas over ten roundsВторник, Септември 27.

The bout will air on Fox Sports 1 as part of Premier Boxing Champions’ “Toe-to-Toe Вторник” series.

Perrella and Ugas were slated to meet August 12 but the bout was surprisingly scrapped by the athletic commission just days before the opening bell.

The fighting pride of Fort Myers, FL, Perrella burst onto the national scene with a second round knockout of David Grayton Јуни 2 на ESPN. The 27-year-old has an excellent 14-0 рекорд 13 victories coming by knockout. A 6’0 southpaw, Perrella’s displayed excellent power in both hands and stopped five of his last six foes within two rounds.

Born and raised in Cuba but fighting out of Miami, FL, Ugas garnered international attention as an amateur by capturing a bronze medal in the 2008 Олимписки игри. He won many tournaments and regularly defeated top fighters from across the globe. As a pro, Ugas owns a solid 16-3 ledger and has 7 wins by KO. “Peralta is a tall guy but I’m used to it. Kamegai was bigger than I thought he’d be, but I handled it. I have to feel him out and go from there.

“My opponent is kind of a laid back fighter. He’s going to wait for me to come to him and try to counter. I saw a lot of him laying on the ropes, so I’ll come inside and try to give the fans a great performance. I’m excited to get in there.
“I’ve worked on a lot of things during camp. I’m working on staying more on my toes and breaking some of the bad habits I’ve had. I like to just go forward but there is a lot more to my game. I have to work behind my jab and I think I’ll have success.
“I’ve had so much repetition in the gym and that’s been key to my game. I have to work hard in the ring. I can’t just mow everybody down.
“I’m ready for a world title shot now. I want the Danny Garcia rematch. I feel like I won the fight. He had some flashy shots but he didn’t want to fight. It is what it is and it motivates me to get back to that position.”
DAVID EMANUEL PERALTA
“I’m physically and mentally prepared for this fight. Robert Guerrero is a great fighter and a great champion. I’ve seen everything he’s done and I think this is my time.

На Сабота, Октомври 1, 2016, at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago, Warriors Boxing Promotions will resurrect the legendary “Windy City Fight Nights” series of boxing shows with an event featuring a pair of unbeaten locals in separate co-main-events.
Headlining the first Windy City Fight Night in four years will be super lightweight Ramiro “El Lobito” Carrillo (11-0, 7 КО) and super welterweight Achour Esho (11-0, 7 КО) in eight-round (Carrillo) and six-round (Esho) bouts against opponents to be announced.
“I’m very happy and excited to be fighting in the co-main event. I’ve fought in several Windy City Fight Nights and had some great fights. I’m eager to get that rush back that I felt going to war in Chicago in front of my hometown family and friends. This is why I came back to boxing. I want to have big, exciting fights,” said Achour Esho.
“I’ve been working very hard for a long time and I’m happy it’s finally coming true. I’ve been dreaming about fighting in a main event in my hometown and it’s finally here. It’s my time to shine. I have a lot of family friends and fans coming out to watch me,” said Ramiro Carrillo.

Coming off another impressive SHOWTIME-televised knockout last Friday, Louisiana-based lightweight contender “Хард рок Mighty” Mason Menard is setting his sights on WBO Lightweight Champion Terry Flanagan.
“I would be more than happy to fight Terry Flanagan,” said Menard. “It would be a great fight. He’s a skillful southpaw, but he is touchable. With my power, that makes for a cat and mouse-type fight. I think sooner or later I would catch up with him.”

BETHLEHEM, Па. The Nashville-native was able to keep his perfect record intact and was in control from start to finish of his first 10-round bout. Plant was patient in the early rounds, looking to find the distance against his power-punching opponent.
Plant’s offense began to break through in round three and in round four he caught De Angel lingering in the pocket and dropped him with a left hook. De Angel got to his feet but was never able to get his own offense going and spent much of the night trying to tie up the more aggressive Plant.
In the ninth round, a clash of heads caused a temporary halt in the action and saw Plant emerge with a cut on his head. Plant was able to battle through and and kept his momentum going throughout the remainder of the fight.
Plant was twice as accurate as De Angel and landed 30 percent of his punches compared to 15 percent from De Angel. The judges saw the bout the same and all scored it 100-89 after 10-rounds of super middleweight action.
The co-main event of the night saw a pair of Washington, D.C. welterweights do battle as Дејвид Grayton (15-1, 11 КО) earned a victory over previously unbeaten Карим Мартин (8-1-1, 3 КО) via a stoppage in the eighth and final round.
The southpaw Grayton pressed forward early and often, looking to disrupt Martin and keep him uncomfortable. Martin was sharp early on, especially with right hand counters. He was the more accurate fighter over the first three rounds, but the experience of Grayton began to take over.
As the fight went on, Grayton’s attack gained effectiveness and Martin appeared to wear down from the constant pace. Grayton out threw Martin 537 на 308 and landed 172 punches to Martin’s 106.
Grayton took control of the fight in the sixth round, hurting Martin early with a blistering body attack and rocked him late in the round with crisp uppercuts. By round eight, Martin had faded and Grayton sensed his moment.
