“BATTLE BORN BOXING” Amateur series returns to Downtown Las Vegas Events Center

LAS VEGAS (Septiembre 26, 2016) – The fifth edition of”Battle Born Boxing” devoluciones este jueves noche (Siete. 29), a partir de 7 p.m. PT, at the outdoor El centro de Las Vegas Events Center.

BROOKLYN (Septiembre 26, 2016) – The Buffalo Veteran Boxers Association inducted Swanson Presidente de Comunicaciones Kelly Swanson into the Ring 44 Buffalo Boxing Hall of Fame on Friday, Septiembre 23 como parte de su 20º clase.
Swanson, along with five other new inductees, including Dave Moretti, Billy Tompkins, Dummy Burns, Stan Myka and Pete Tamalonis were honored at the organization’s annual dinner and awards ceremony at Ilio Dipaolo Restaurant in Blasdell, Nueva York
“It is such an honor to be recognized by my hometown for my work in boxing over the last 20 año,” said Swanson, a North Buffalo-native who has worked in boxing for over two decades, representing some of the sport’s biggest names including Floyd Mayweather, Bernard Hopkins and Riddick Bowe. “I am proud to be from the Queen City and thrilled to join an incredible class of inductees.
“Boxing is a sport of opportunity and it has opened so many doors for me. I have been privileged to with some of the best fighters and work on some of the biggest events the sport has witnessed over the course of these 20 año. I don’t remember a time when I didn’t love boxing and I look forward to continuing to publicize and promote fighters and events for many years to come.”
“Congratulations to Kelly for her honor,” dijo Mayweather. “We’ve been together for a long time, más que 10 año, and I am happy she is being recognized for all of her great work.”
“There’s no woman in this game that has accomplished as much as Kelly,” dijo Hopkins. “She’s the top as far as publicists go and everyone knows it. Swanson not only works in boxing, but stays involved in the sport in her off time as well. She works out at the famed Gleason’s Gym in Brooklyn, blocks from her New York City office. She is also a board member for the gym’s “Dar un niño a Dream” programa, which offers children from disadvantaged backgrounds a place to develop themselves physically and mentally through boxing.
“I have worked for Kelly for over eight years and I’m still learning,” said Lisa Milner Goldberg, Vice President of Swanson Communications. “I constantly find myself in awe of the ideas she dreams up, her creativity and her loyalty to her clients. She is very deserving of this recognition, especially because she is so proud of her hometown.”

Michael Spinks & Fitz Vanderpool Honored at recent 26th annual Rochester Boxing Hall of Fame Banquet & Awards Night
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (Septiembre 25, 2016) — A small crowd packed The Diplomat Party House to honor Michael “Jinx” Spinks y Fitz “El látigo” Vanderpool at the recent 26º annual Rochester Boxing Hall of Fame (RBHOF) Banquet & Awards Night.
Spinks (31-1, 21 KOs) received the prestigious Integrity Award, while Vanderpool (26-8-4, 13 KOs) was presented the coveted Courage Award.

De Rochester Johnny McCoy (Clarence Millard) was inducted into the Rochester Boxing Hall of Fame. McCoy (77-30-14, 21 KOs), quien falleció en 1978 a la edad de 81, was one of the top flyweights in the world between 1916 y 1932. He was recognized as world champion by the state of California following a tournament to determine the winner of the vacant world title relinquished by Fidel LaBarba.
“This was another memorable banquet for the Rochester Boxing Hall of Fame,” RBHOF treasurer/spokesperson Gino Arilotta dicho. “Everyone enjoyed the evening. We posthumously inducted Johnny McCoy and honored are award winners, Michael Spinks and Fitz Vanderpool. Hall of Famer referee Steve Smoger gave a wonderful speech. Each of these great men were so pleasant and they gladly signed hundreds of autographs and posed for so many pictures. These three humble men have my sincere respect.
“En Sábado, September 17th, we took the boxers along with Steve Smoger to a local radio station where they were interviewed on air. We also took them to one of Rochester’s super gyms, donde Willie Monroe, Jr. trains. We showed them many important sites within the city. I also presented a city high school graduate, the Carmen Basilio Scholarship Award, which is awarded annually.
Un Salón de la Fama Internacional de Boxeo (IBHOF), Spinks was the most dominant light heavyweight champion of his era, capturando la Asociación Mundial de Boxeo (AMB), Federación Internacional de Boxeo (FIB) y el Consejo Mundial de Boxeo (CMB) títulos mundiales, in addition to being a 1976 Medallista de oro olímpico.
Vanderpool is a former World Boxing Federation (WBF), WBC FECARBOX and Canadian welterweight champion. He took on all comers including Rochester’s only world champion, Charles “El Natural” Murray and world champion Fernando Vargas. Hoy, Vanderpool is a trainer in Canada who also gives countless hours of time and energy in Kitchener as a community volunteer.
Special guests in attendance included Murray (44-9, 26 KOs), a former IBF light welterweight champion, world-rated heavyweight Jarrell “Bebe Grande” Molinero (18-0-1, 16 KOs), Rochester lightweight prospect Lavisas “Red” Williams (8-1-1, 3 KOs), Josie Basilio (widow of Hall of Famer Carmen Basilio), distinguished boxing writer Dan Cucco and Smoger, the International referee extraordinaire.
RBHOF holds monthly meetings, plus an annual picnic and Christmas party, in addition to supporting local gyms.

López de 33 años (34-5, 31 KOs), peleando fuera de Caguas, Puerto Rico, es una antigua Organización Mundial de Boxeo (OMB) campeón mundial de peso supergallo y peso pluma. Desde 2008 a 2010, “Juanma” fue uno de los mejores luchadores libra-4 libras en el mundo, pero no ha peleado en dos añosde cara a su tan esperado enfrentamiento con su compatriota Vázquez, Jr.
