On his recent training camp with Virgil Hunter:
“Virgil Hunter and I had a great final few days of training camp. All the sparring and training is finalized and now we are focused on making weight. My body feels rejuvenated and I’ll be at my best going into this fight.”
On facing former world champion Chad Dawson:
“Chad Dawson is a very skilled fighter who has won at the elite level. He’s a former world champion who’s been in the ring with the best fighters in the division. I know he will be a difficult challenge, but I’m confident I’ll be victorious.”
On the long layoff since his last fight:
“I felt it was a good thing to take some time off after my fight with Joe Smith. I was able to reflect on my performance, and make the move to start training with Virgil Hunter. I incorporated Pilates into my training regimen and I feel great. My mental focus is sharp. Everyone will see the improvement in my performance.”
On the current state of the light-heavyweight division:

Gary Russellas, Jr.-Oscar Escandon Featherweight Title Match Postponed After Escandon Suffers Injury in Training

The Card Will Be Rescheduled for A Future Date
LAS VEGAS (Vasaris 28, 2017) – The featherweight championship match between Gary Russell Jr. and Oscar Escandon, planuojama Šeštadienis, Kovas 11 at the MGM National Harbor in Maryland, has been postponed after Escandon was injured in training, according to Escandon’s promoter Sampson Lewkowicz.

“It’s definitely irritating,” Russell said. “But injuries happen especially when you have somebody pushing their body to the limit for a fight that is potentially life changing. It’s disappointing. It might not work out for him because I have a little more time to get ready.”

The event will be headlined by the welterweight world championship unification bout between undefeated champions Danny Garcia ir Keith Thurman. GARCIA vs. THURMAN is presented by Premier Boxing Champions and will take place at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, home of BROOKLYN BOXING.

 

The live broadcast will be produced by SHOWTIME Sports® for the CBS Television Network and will air live on CBS from 9-11 p.m. IR / 6-8 p.m. PT. garcia prieš. Leonard made his professional boxing debut on CBS in 1977, less than one year after he won gold at the ‘76 Olympics in Montreal as part of what is considered the greatest American boxing team in Olympic history. He served as a boxing analyst for the network in the early 1980s during a temporary retirement, calling fights alongside CBS boxing announcer Tim Ryan and Hall of Fame trainer and analyst Gil Clancy, before eventually resuming his professional boxing career. Boksuoti pradėjau nuo amžiaus 14, po daugiau nei vienerių metų treniruotės turėjau keletą tarpklubinių renginių, kol surengiau savo pirmąją mėgėjų kovą, kuri netrukus turėjo atstovauti mano miestui Liverpuliui., kuris tuo metu buvo prieš savo pirmąjį Velso numerį jo gimtajame mieste Wrexham.

 

Aš visada prisimenu savo trenerį sakantį, kad niekas nenori kovoti su šiuo berniuku, todėl eik jį išmušti, o antrajame raunde du kartus jį nuleidęs, teisėjas neturėjo pasirinkimo to sustabdyti.

 

Daugybė žmonių man pasakė, kad turiu šviesią šio sporto ateitį, bet tuo metu mano dėmesys buvo tapti profesionaliu futbolininku, kuris baigėsi tikra bloga trauma ir po 18 mėnesių fiziologija ir mano traumos reabilitacija.

 

Pagaliau grįžau į boksą dėl fitneso ir iškart įsimylėjau šį sportą, vos po kelių mėnesių treniruočių ėmiausi Niukaslyje kovoti su balta apykakle.

 

Laimėjęs, kad gavau daugybę gerų atsiliepimų ir supratau, kad turiu pradėti žiūrėti į tai rimtai ir pamatyti, kiek galiu nueiti sporte, Aš laimėjau Šiaurės rajoną, Didžiosios Britanijos ir Europos titulai nelicencijuotoje scenoje suprato, kad turiu kreiptis į profesionalią žaidimo pusę.

Jūsų profesionalo karjera prasidėjo sklandžiai, su pergale prieš latvį Aleksejų Nikitenko, Pirma, kaip jautėsi boksas profesionalų gretose pirmą kartą, ir, antra, ar galite pateikti savo požiūrį į kovą?

Tai buvo labai sunku, nes tuo metu išgyvenau daug komplikacijų su savo rengėju ir negalėjau kovoti, ir maniau, kad niekada nebegalėsiu daugiau kovoti, bet po ilgo laikotarpio, mano brolis man padėjo ir pakovojo.

 

Aš daug žinojau apie Marty ir žinojau, kad nebus lengva žinoti, koks jis patyręs, bet norėjau visiems parodyti, kad net ir per visą šį laiką aš galiu būti geras, laimėjau ir jaučiausi taip, lyg niekada nebūčiau turėjęs laiko iš ringo.

Kita tavo kova, prieš Philą Townley, atėjo tik po kelių mėnesių ir dar daugiau buvo istorinis įvykis užsienyje, pirmasis kada nors vykęs „Pro Boxing“ turnyras Pakistane. Ar galėtumėte pirmiausia papasakoti skaitytojams, kaip tai įvyko, taip pat papasakokite skaitytojams ne tik apie kovą, bet ir visą patirtį?

Aš tikrai netikėjau, kad tai tiesa, kai pirmą kartą sužinojau apie Pakistaną. Aš ką tik grįžau iš atostogų ir kitą minutę telefonu telefonu Amir Khano dėdei apie galimą kovą Pakistane.

 

Nors žinojau, kad nesu tinkamiausias ar turiu pageidaujamą svorį, negalėjau praleisti progos, todėl padidinau dvi svorio kategorijas tik dėl galimybės.

Jei matėte visą kovą, atrodo, kad pabaigoje nebuvau per daug laiminga, bet taip yra todėl, kad esu kovotojas ir viskas, ką noriu padaryti, tai kovoti.

 

Treniravausi taip sunkiai ir jaučiausi geriausia savo gyvenimo forma, kai kova baigėsi 30 sekundžių tai mane erzino, bet tai tik tai, ką turiu susidurti su jo boksu, o kovos gali būti baigtos vienu smūgiu.

 

Po to, kai jį peržiūrėjau, buvau patenkinta savo pasirodymu ir esu palaiminta smūgiuojančia jėga, kuri vienu šūviu gali išmušti kam nors iš peties.

Ant 3kovo mėn dar kartą veiksite prie pakabos 34 Liverpulyje, kur esate atsidūrę prieš airį Michaelą Kelly. Ar daug žinote apie Michaelą ir jo kovos stilių, taip pat kaip matote šią kovą?

Aš žinau apie žmones, su kuriais jis kovojo, ir tai, ką jis pasiekė, žinau, kad tai bus sunki kova, bet todėl mano komanda ir aš paprašėme kovos.

 

Aš nežiūriu savo oponentų senose kovose, nes jie galėjo atversti dėžę visiškai kitokia kova, todėl man patinka juos išsiaiškinti, kai esu ten.

 

Manau, kad tai bus linksma kova, kurią žmonės galės stebėti, bet matau, kad tai baigiasi nokautu, jei aš pataikysiu bet kurį vidutinio svorio asmenį vienu iš jėgos smūgių su aštuonių uncijų pirštinėmis, būsiu šokiruotas, kai pamatysiu, kad kas nors vis dar stovi priešais mane.

Treniruojuosi „Motor Room Boxing Club“, „Sports Direct Fitness“ ir „Spartan Dynamic“, mano įprasta kovos naktis yra 6esu Aš pabundu turėti bananą, tada tiesiai į „Sports Direct Fitness“ savo bėgimui.

 

Man patinka patekti tarp 4-6 mylių kiekvieną rytą, tada dirbsiu šiek tiek maišų ir gausiu pirtį, tada grįšiu namo ir ilsiuosi tada 10:30esu priklausomai nuo dienos Pirmadienis, Trečiadienis, Penktadienis Būsiu Mašinų skyriuje bent iki vidurdienio, dirbdamas su savo boksu.

 

Antradienis ir Ketvirtadienis „Spartan Dynamic“ būsiu iki vidurdienio dirbdamas savo jėgas ir kondicionuodamas, tada eisiu pasiimti šviežiai paruoštų patiekalų iš „Goodness Grill“ ir tada turėsiu darbo 2:30pm iki 9:30pm.

 

Tai sunkiai išlaikoma rutina, bet mano svajonei visa tai verta.

Ką galėtumėte pasakyti apie jūsų mėgstamiausią treniruočių dalį?

Iš tikrųjų neturiu mėgstamos treniruočių dalies; mano mėgstamiausia dalis tikriausiai man sako, kad baigiau, nes tai tikrai sunkus darbas.

 

Tai priklausomybės mokymas, be kurio negalėčiau apsieiti, bet jei man tektų rinktis vieną dalyką, tai greičiausiai būtų sparingas. Tai yra arčiausiai kovos ir nėra nieko geresnio, nei nusileisti priešininkams pražūtingus smūgius.

A tall fighter for his division at more than six feet, the 21-year-old Barrios picked up seven victories in a jam-packed 2015 in which he stopped five opponents inside the distance. The San Antonio-native turned pro in 2013 and is on the fast track towards a world title shot as he defeated Devis Boschiero in a 12-round bout in July 2016 and followed it up with a second round knockout of Claudio Rosendo Tapia in December. He will be challenged by the 22-year-old Suarez of Sinaloa, Mexico who picked up five wins in 2016 and stopped Christian Valverde in the fifth-round of his last bout.

 

An accomplished amateur who was born in Kazakhstan but fights out of California, Lipinets turned pro in April of 2014 with a decision victory over Franklin Varela. The 27-year-old recorded six knockouts in a row before stepping up in competition and impressing with a victory over Haskell Lydell Rhodes in March 2015 and a knockout of Levan Ghvamichava in March. He kept the momentum going by stopping established contender Walter Castillo in July and knocking out Lenny Zappavigna in their 140-pound title eliminator in December. He will be challenge by the Keith Thurman stablemate Booth, who fights out of St. Peterburgas, Florida and defeated Cesar Soriano in his last bout.

LAS VEGAS–Karalius Vargas walked into enemy territory and won the WBC Super Bantamweight title with a 12-round majority decision over Gavin McDonnell at Ice Hall in Hull, Anglija.

The championship bout, which took place this past Šeštadienis, headlined a card that was streamed live on www.klowdtv.com

It was a competitive fight with Vargas using his length and landing his jab, that would open up combinations. McDonnell was willing, but did not seem to be able to get in a groove, yet he was able to fight even on a card at 114-114. while two other cards had the right winner at 117-111 ir 116-112.

Campbell is 16-1. Lopez is 21-7.

Tommy Coyle stopped Rakeem Noble in round three of their scheduled ten-round super lightweight bout.

Coyle hurt Noble with a right at the end of round two, and finished him with a booming right in round three, that sent Noble down. Noble got to his feet, but the referee stopped the fight.

Coyle is now 23-4. Noble is 11-2.

Dec Spelman (11-0) registered a 3rd round stoppage over Nathan King (14-28) in a scheduled 6-round light heavyweight bout.

Heavyweight Dave Allen (10-2-1) reikia tik 31 seconds to stop Lukasz Rusiewicz (22-29) in a heavyweight bout scheduled for 6 raundai.

Aš bandžiau kovoti su kai kuriomis geriausiomis perspektyvomis, vaikinai su keletu nedidelių titulų, bet jie nesiims kovos. Vis dėlto negaliu leisti, kad tai man trukdytų, nes žinau, kad šiems vaikinams esu didelė rizika. Tai gali būti mano karjeros pradžia, bet aš galiu atlikti pakeitimus ir padaryti viską.”

“Tai labai daug reiškė norint gauti tokį laimėjimą prieš tvirtą kovotoją per trumpą laiką.
“Mes nokauto ieškojome daug anksčiau, bet šį vakarą Gemino buvo tikrai sunkus. Jis parodė daug širdies, bet laimei mes laimėjome.
“Nors tai buvo didesnis svoris, nei esu įpratęs kovoti, Man nekilo problemų tvarkant jo dydį.

BIRMINGHAM, AL. (Vasaris 25, 2017) – Undefeated heavyweight world champion Deontay “Bronzos bombonešis” Wilder (38-0, 37 Kos) knocked out Gerald “Juodosios Gaidys” Vašingtonas (18-1-1, 12 Kos) in the fifth round of the main event of Premier Boxing Champions on FOX and FOX Deportes at the Legacy Arena in Birmingham, AL.
In front of a crowd of 12,346 gerbėjai, Wilder was able to give his home state crowd another scintillating victory. Although Washington stole some of the early rounds, Wilder’s patience paid off as he was able to find his pace and finish Washington in the fifth frame.
In the blistering televised opener, Dominykas Breazeale (18-1, 16 Kos) stopped previously unbeaten Izuagbe Ugonoh (17-1, 14 Kos). Ugonoh controlled the fight early landing heavy blows to both Breazeale’s body and head, but Breazeale was able to compose himself and stormed back to knock out Ugonoh in impressive fashion.
The co-main event featured Jarrett Hurd (20-0, 14 Kos) knocking out Tony Harrison (24-2, 20 Kos) in the ninth round of their contest.

“I knew he was going to come in excited to fight for a world title. I just kept calm and found my rhythm. I really knew he was going to tire out, and when he did I took advantage.
“It was all about timing. I’m very smart when it comes to using different tactics in the ring.
“Fighting here in Alabama is a blessing. The people here show up to support me and I love them for it. I’m always going to support and be here for my Alabama family. To see the crowd’s response tonight meant a lot to me.
“As I’ve been saying, I’m looking to unify the division. I think it’s critical to have one fighter and one champion, and that’s Deontay Wilder. Let’s hope Joseph Parker is ready for me because I’m definitely ready for him.”
GERALD WASHINGTON
“I just got a little impatient. I was trying to go for it. It was an even boxing match. I could have kept it like that and kept it boring. I don’t know why I fell asleep there. I guess I lost a little focus.
“I caught him with one shot when he was coming in. But instead of me keeping that play going and keep pushing him back and keep him in control by keeping him in the center of the ring, I tried to get on him. I was trying to play a little counter punch role and catch him coming in. He just caught me.
“It’s just an experience. You have to follow the game plan and stay focused, stay patient. You may not get all the shots you want in the beginning, but you have to play the game all the way out and then things will start to happen.”
JARRETT HURD
“We wanted to take our time with him because Harrison can box and move. But every time he fights he wears down toward the end.
“During the sixth round, he caught me with a good shot inside my left eye. But I managed to fight through it and get the win.
“It feels great to be a champion. I’ve never had a feeling this great before. It’s pure Accokeek power. I can finally pull my pants up now. My pants were falling down, but I finally got my belt.”
DOMINIKA BREAZEALE
“It took a little time for me to find my pace, but eventually I found my Rhythm. Izu came in in great shape and with guns blazing. He came at me with some stuff that I wasn’t expecting. Him being the lighter guy I wasn’t really expecting the power he possessed.
“I was able to connect some big shots tonight, especially with my right hand. You see what happens when I put him down and he never really recovered.
“Coming off the loss to Joshua, this win puts me right back in there. This is what I’ve always asked for. My team does an incredible job of getting me any fight I ask for, and I wanted to fight an undefeated guy like Izu. Jis didelis, stiprus, athletic guy.
“Šįvakar, the story was about me having the heart of a lion, getting knocked down, but getting right back up to finish this fight.”
IZUAGBE UGONOH
“I expected that I was going to knock him out. I believed I would accomplish that, but he didn’t surprise me with anything. I was landing some good shots to both his body and his face.
“Breazeale showed a lot of heart though, and I think that his experience really helped him. I think a fight like Anthony Joshua really helped him realize that he could take anything and win the fight. He did that tonight.
“Dorai, I just got tired. I gave him what I had and then I got tired. When he came back at me I wasn’t able to keep up and finish through on my game plan.
