After a couple weeks off, we come back this week to talk about the combat sports world. Tom, Tony and Rich catch up and discuss the events of the past couple weeks and preview upcoming boxing and MMA action. Tom, Tony and Rich pay special attention to last weekend’s awesome UFC card with two of the best fights of the year in MMA to chat about. Eddie Alvarez’s masterful performance against Justin Gaethje was exciting enough, but add in the performance of Yancy Medeiros against Charles Oliveira and that put this card into a category all its own. We also discuss the latest boxing news and Miguel Cotto’s retirement fight. Listen to the broadcast in the player below.

In the streaming co-feature, IBF Featherweight World Champion Lee Selby (20-1, 9 Kos) will take on undefeated contender Eduardo Ramirez (20-0-3, 7 Kos), while undefeated light heavyweight Anthony Yarde (13-0, 12 Kos) will face former world title challenger Nikola Sjekloca (32-4-1, 11 Kos). Las Vegas, NV (Disamba 6, 2017) – Prince Ranch Boxing’s undefeated featherweight prospect, Victor Pasillas (11-0, 4 Kos), shares his thoughts on sparring with WBO Super-Featherweight Champion Vasyl Lomachenko (9-1, 7 Kos), as he prepares for his showdown with WBA Super World Super Bantamweight champion, Guillermo Rigondeaux(17-0, 11 Kos).
Pasillas, a southpaw from East Los Angeles, marveled at the speed and quickness of Lomachenko, the Ukrainian star who trains in Oxnard, KAMAR.
“Sparring with Lomachenko was a great experience,” said Victor Pasillas, who trains in Northern California with coach Brian Schwartz. “He has extraordinary speed and precise accuracy with his punches. Being in the ring with a fighter like Lomachenko, you learn a lot. Moving forward, I’m going to take this experience and apply what I’ve picked up to better my game. I feel Vasyl will be to big and powerful for the smaller Rigondeaux who is moving up in weight.”
Victor, who has been out of the ring for over two years, will look to get back in the ring in early 2018.

Veteran SHOWTIME Sports® Reporter Jim Gray and Former Play-By-Play Announcer Steve Albert Join 2018 Class Alongside Vitali Klitschko, Eric Morales and Ronald “Winky” Wright

SHOWTIME Sports veteran reporter Jim Gray and former, long-time play-by-play announcer Steve Albert were elected to the 2018 class of the International Boxing Hall of Fame, it was announced by the Hall on Tuesday.

Gray and Albert earned induction into the Observer category, which recognizes outstanding achievements of print and electronic media journalists, sportscasters, publishers, marubuta, historians, photographers and artists. Gray and Albert will join SHOWTIME Sports boxing analyst Al Bernstein (2012), ring announcer Jimmy Lennon Jr. (2013), analyst and historian Steve Farhood (2017) and announcer Barry Tompkins (2017) in the International Boxing Hall of Fame.

Former heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko, four-division world champion Eric Morales and former undisputed super welterweight world champion Ronald “Winky” Wright headline the 2018 induction class. The newly elected class will be inducted during Hall of Fame Weekend Yuni 7-10, 2018, in Canastota, N.Y..

Philadelphia, PA (Disamba 5, 2017) – Last Friday night Tyrone Brunson stopped Manny Woods to win the UBF International Junior Middleweight title after eight-rounds of a scheduled ten-round bout in front of a sold out crowd at the 2300 Arena.
The exciting 12-bout card was promoted by King’s Promotions.
Brunson of Philadelphia systematically broke down woods as he boxed well using a pinpoint jab over the first half of the fight. In round six, Brunson started landing hard power punches and began to stagger Woods. Finally after round eight, the corner of Woods pulled the plug on the bout, and Brunson scored his 3rd straight win.
Brunson is now 26-6-2 tare da 24 knockouts. Woods of Saint Petersburg, Florida is 16-7-1.

Pound-4-Pound Boxing Program sends 2017 USA Boxing Elite and Youth National Championships and Junior Open

Las Vegas, NV (Disamba 4, 2017) – Eight members from the “Pound-4-Pound” dakin motsa jiki, Las Vegas’ # 1 amateur boxing program, will compete in the 2017 USA Boxing Elite Youth National Championships & Junior Open. The five-day tournament will take place in Salt Lake City, UT, at the Calvin L. Rampton Salt Palace Convention Center, more commonly known as the Salt Palace, starting December 5ga watan through December 9ga watan.
Only the best boxers from around the United States will compete to see who is the best amateur boxer in the nation. Duk 15 da kuma 16 year-olds who win this tournament will make the USA Boxing Team. All others will be ranked #1 in their respective weight classes.
