סאַן אַנטאָניאָ (פעברואר. 12, 2018) – Undefeated 140-pound contender and San Antonio-native מאַריאָ באַרריאָס וועט פּנים Eudy Bernardo in a 10-round bout on SHOWTIME BOXING on SHO EXTREME שבת, מאַרץ 10 from Freeman Coliseum in San Antonio.
The SHO EXTREME telecast begins live at 8 פּ.ם. און/PT and features undefeated Alejandro לונאַ facing former world title challenger Richard Commey in a 12-round IBF Lightweight Title Eliminator. The IBF champion is Robert Easter, who Commey fought to close-split decision for the vacant IBF belt in 2016.
Also in undercard action at Freeman Coliseum, unbeaten prospect בראַנדאָן פיגועראָאַ נעמט אויף מעקסיקא ס Jonathan Aguilar in an eight-round super bantamweight bout that, צייַט פּערמיטינג, will round out the SHO EXTREME telecast.
טיקקעץ פֿאַר די לעבן געשעעניש, which is promoted by Ringstar Sports and TGB Promotions in association with Leija-Battah Promotions, זענען פּרייסט בייַ $250, $150, $75, $50 און $20 און ביסט אויף פאַרקויף איצט. Tickets are available at Ticketmaster.com or by calling 800-745-3000 אָדער 210 556-7390.
The Premier Boxing Champions event is headlined by a showdown between three-division world champion מייקי גאַרסיאַ and unbeaten IBF 140-pound champion סערגיי ליפּינעץ and also features two-division world champion ראַנסעס באַרטעלאַמי גענומען אויף קיריל רעליך in a rematch of their thrilling fight last May, this time for the vacant WBA 140-pound world title.
נעיגהבאָרהאָאָדס (20-0 12 קאָס), who is trained by Virgil Hunter, returns for his first professional bout in San Antonio since he scored a 2015 knockout over Manuel Vides at AT&T Center in 2015. The 22-year-old has won three straight fights by stoppage since moving up to the 140-pound division last year.
I haven’t been back home in a while, and I’m looking forward to putting on a tremendous performance in front of my family and hometown fans,” Barrios געזאגט. “אויב די נאַקאַוט קומט, early or late, איך וועט נעמען עס. אויב נישט, we’re going in there to do what we do best, and that’s win. I’m trying to show that I’m on the level where I can get one of those titles either later this year or early next year.
Fighting out of Santo Domingo, דאָמיניקאַן רעפובליק, Bernardo (23-2, 17 קאָס) enters this fight having scored knockout victories in his last two contests. The 31-year-old, who appeared onשאָבאָקס: די ניו גענעראַטיאָן אין אפריל 2016, has fought professionally since 2009 and was unbeaten in his first 21 פּראָ פיגהץ.
I hope that Barrios isn’t underestimating me, because I am full of confidence and positive that I’m going to win,” said Bernardo. “I have a great plan that I’m going to use to catch him by surprise. I don’t care if it’s by knockout or decision, I will win.
לונאַ (22-0, 15 קאָס) and Commey (25-2, 22 קאָס) enter this fight ranked 11טה און 3רד respectively by the IBF. The 26-year-old Luna, fighting out of Bellflower, Ca., most recently dominated Andrey Klimov on his way to a unanimous decision last April and faces his toughest competition to date on March 10. Commey rebounded from the narrow defeat to Easter and a subsequent close loss to Denis Shafikov with a unanimous decision victory last March in his native Ghana.
Commey’s a tough competitor whose losses were very close, disputable fights that could have gone either way, so I’ll go in being smart, using my jab and sticking to our game plan,” said Luna. “We’re both boxer-punchers who like to mix it up, throw bombs and brawl if we have to. There’s going to be a lot of action and we might steal the show. We’ll give the fans their money’s worth, either way.
I think this is a good fight where neither of us are the favorite,” said Commey. “After losing two close decisions there is natural pressure to go for the knockout. But I believe that the judges will be fair and reward me if it goes the distance so I can earn another shot at the title. This is my first fight with Andre Rozier and I’m inspired working in his gym with guys like Daniel Jacobs and Sadam Ali. איך בין 100 percent focused on clearly beating Luna and earning my rematch with Robert Easter Jr.
פיגועראָאַ (14-0, 9 קאָס), the younger brother of former lightweight champion Omar Figueroa, וועט מאַכן זיין 2018 debut against the 24-year-old Aguilar (20-7, 17 קאָס), after picking up four wins in 2017.
I’m happy to be on such a big card. San Antonio is like my second home,” האט פיגועראָאַ, וואס איז 5-0 with four knockouts in San Antonio. “I’m getting a lot of exposure fighting on this world class event that is headlined by Mikey Garcia. It’s the kind of step-up I need. Little by little I’m becoming well-known, not only in the United States, but by people from around the world.

From Deadwood Mountain Grand in Deadwood, דרום דעקאטע

נייַ יארק (פעברואר. 12, 2018) – Undefeated 140-pound contender Regis Prograis will now face former unified world champion Julius Indongo for the vacant Interim WBC Super Lightweight World Championship on פרייַטיק, מאַרץ 9, in the 12-round main event of SHOWTIME BOXING: SPECIAL EDITION live on SHOWTIME at 10 פּ.ם. און/PT from Deadwood Mountain Grand in Deadwood, דרום דעקאטע.

Indongo replaces the previously announced Viktor Postol, who was forced to withdraw from the bout with a hand injury.

Born in Namibia and now fighting out of Omaha, ניי, Indongo (22-1, 11 קאָס) is a former unified champion who held the IBF and WBA 140-pound titles.

אין 2016, Indongo traveled to Moscow, רוסלאַנד, to dethrone IBF Junior Welterweight Champion Eduard Troyanovsky with a stunning first-round knockout. In his first defense as champion, Indongo traveled to Glasgow, סקאָטלאַנד, for a unification bout with WBA Champion Ricky Burns. The 35-year-old won a 12-round unanimous decision to become unified champion.

In his first bout as a unified titleholder, Indongo made his U.S. debut against fellow undefeated and unified champion Terence Crawford in a showdown to determine the undisputed champion of the 140-pound division. It was the first championship bout with all four major world titles at stake since Jermain Taylor dethroned Bernard Hopkins in 2005. Indongo lost to Crawford, suffering the only defeat of his professional career.

“I’m very excited to fight Regis Prograis on מאַרץ 9,” said Indongo. “This is a great opportunity for me toward becoming a world champion again. I know how good Prograis is, but come March 9, I’ll be victorious.”

“While it’s unfortunate that Viktor Postol suffered this training injury, we’re thrilled that Julius Indongo jumped right at the opportunity to face Regis Prograis for the interim WBC title,” said Lou DiBella, פרעזידענט פון דיבעללאַ פֿאַרווייַלונג. “Regis wanted to prove himself against the best, and he will still be afforded that opportunity when he meets former champion Indongo in what promises to be a sensational clash of styles.”

מגילה (20-0, 17 קאָס), פון האָוסטאָן דורך וועג פון ניו אָרלעאַנס, has scored knockouts in 13 פון זיין לעצטע 14 fights and is a rising star in the wide-open 140-pound division. Indongo represents the toughest challenge of his career with his lone loss to one of the top fighters in boxing, טערענסע Crawford.

In the 12-round co-feature, undefeated 140-pound contenders Ivan Baranchyk (17-0, 10 קאָס) and Anthony Yigit (21-0-1, 7 קאָס) will square off in a Junior Welterweight World Title Eliminator to become the mandatory challenger for IBF champion Sergey Lipinets. Lipinets will defend his belt the following day, מאַרץ 10, on SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING® against undefeated three-division champion Mikey Garcia.

The event is presented by DiBella Entertainment, in association with Elite Boxing, Fight Promotions Inc., Holden Productions and Sauerland Promotions. טיקקעץ, פּרייסט בייַ $200, $80 און $60, are on sale now and can be purchased on Ticketmaster.com or by calling (877) 907-4726.

The hotly contested first match between Dirrell and Uzcategui, which was also for the IBF interim world title, ended in controversy after Uzcategui was disqualified for landing a punch after the bell sounded to end the eighth round. Dirrell was dropped and knocked out by the punch. The referee ruled that the punch was intentional and disqualified Uzcategui. In the IBF mandated rematch, Dirrell and Uzcategui will look to put themselves in position to fight for the super middleweight title that Caleb Truax recently earned via a majority decision over James DeGale.
דיררעלל (26-2, 16 קאָס), a bronze medal winner for the 2004 יוז. Olympic boxing team, continues his quest for a world championship. The 34-year-old southpaw from Flint, Michigan lost a split decision to Carl Froch in his first attempt in 2009 and dropped a narrow unanimous decision to DeGale in his next attempt in 2015.
I’m extremely excited to be a part of one of the most dynamic tripleheaders this year,” Dirrell said. “This time around I’ll be phenomenal and leave no doubt who the better fighter is. איך בין 100 percent focused on dominating Uzcategui on March 3 and getting another shot at the title.
The 27-year-old Uzcategui (26-2, 22 קאָס), who is from Venezuela and now lives in Tijuana, מעקסיקא, worked his way up to the match against Dirrell with a string of four straight stoppage victories, including a stunning upset of Julian Jackson in 2015. Uzcategui dropped Jackson four times on the way to a second round technical knockout victory.
I’m very excited to go get what’s mine,” האט וזקאַטעגוי. “I feel I won the last fight. I didn’t feel I did anything wrong. What happened in the last fight is in the past. I’m going to get what belongs to me. The world will see what ‘Bolivitacan do and they’ll want to see more of me.

Park City, מייַ. (פעברואַר 11, 2018) – יוז. Olympian and hometown favorite ניקאָ הערנאַנדעז captured the vacant International Boxing Association (יבאַ) Americas flyweight title in his fourth professional fight, headlining last night’s “קאָ נאַכט באָקסינג” גאָלד & גלאָריע” קאָרט, ביי האַרטמאַן אַרענאַ אין פּאַרק סיטי, קאַנסאַס.
דערלאנגט דורך “KO Night Boxing LLC,” the card was taped live to be shown at a later date on CBS Sports Network. “קאָ נאַכט באָקסינג” גאָלד & גלאָריע” קאָרט, presented by KO Night Boxing LLC,
די 22-יאָר-אַלט הערנאַנדעז (4-0, 3 קאָס) stopped last-minute replacement, שפּיל Victor “די בולל” Torres, אין די פינפט קייַלעכיק.
הערנאַנדעז’ אָריגינעל קעגנער, Hungarian champion Joseph Ajtai (19-9, 12 קאָס), never made it to Wichita due to a series of unfortunate circumstances. Ajtai lost one day in Frankfurt, דייַטשלאַנד, after leaving his passport on the plane he took from Budapest. Once he landed in Chicago אויף מיטוואך, he was tied up by a visa issue at U.S. Customs. He missed his connecting flight to Wichita and because of snowstorms that grounded numerous flights, including those to Wichita, Ajtai never made it out of O’Hare Airport, stranded there for several days.
The IBA granted a special exception for Hernandez to fight Torres, due to these unforeseen problems, with the agreement that Hernandez would next fight Ajtai for an IBA title.
It was an electric night,” פאַרשפּרייטער John Andersen האט. “אַמאָל ווידער, Nico made the proper adjustment that can be credited to his amateur pedigree. In the amateurs, opponents often change at the last moment and Nico has overcome many obstacles during his boxing career. We’re going to give Josef another title shot against Nico in April or May. They have unfinished business together!
I was very pleased with Nico’s performance. It’s the best I’ve seen him. He was unbelievable in every way, on point throughout the fight. We also want to give Torres credit for accepting the fight on such late notice.
Hernandez came out fast from the start, battering Torresbody with tremendous combinations, and he never let up. Torres absorbed punishment but remained upright, but IBA referee Steve Smoger halted the action in the fifth round for Torres’ זיכערקייַט.
I’m not leaving this belt,” Hernandez commented at the post fight press conference as he handled his IBA Americas belt. “It’s going everywhere with me. I was looking forward to this fight and I’m ready to continue my success. This is the first (title belt) of many. I got what I worked hard for. I want to thank my coaches, all the work paid off, and now I have this (title belt).”
אין די גלויבנס-ארויסגעשטעלטע געשעעניש, מיננעאַפּאָליס וועלטערווייט דזשאַוואָנטע סטאַרקס (13-2, 7 קאָס) and Mexican veteran סיזער Soriano (28-36-2, 17 קאָס) fought to a six-round majority draw.
Bakersfield, CA pro-debuting Derrick Clayton upset Milwaukee junior welterweight אַקעעם שווארצע (3-2, 1 קאָ), registering a second-round technical knockout.
וויטשיטאַ מידדלעוועיגהט דזשעף Sturm (2-0, 1 קאָ) געבליבן ונדעפעאַטעד, stopping intrastate rival Brian Clements, פון טאָפּעקאַ, halfway through the opening round.
Another pro-debuting California fighter, יינגער וועלטערווייט טשאַזז מאַסיאַס, needed only1:20 to knockout Omaha’s Corey Roberts.
Fighting for the first time in 5 ½ יאָרן, וואַשינגטאָן ד.ק.

(פעברואַר 11, 2018) – Undefeated prospect ריטשארד “פּאָפּייע די סאַילאָר מענטש” ריוועראַ פאַרטיק אַוועק קעווין “די ניו ענגלאַנד בולי” קאָבבס אין די דריט קייַלעכיק, punctuating the night with an lethal uppercut that landed right on the button, headlining last night’s “ניו ענגלאַנד 'ס צוקונפֿט 5” קאָרט, דערלאנגט דורך ריוועראַ פּראָמאָטיאָנס ובידור, ביי די פּאַללאַדיום אין Worcester, מאַססאַטשוסעטץ.

The 27-year-old Rivera (6-0, 5 קאָס) fought once again in front of his large, traveling fanbase from Hartford, קאָרט, capturing the vacant Universal Boxing Federation (ובף) light heavyweight title in dramatic fashion. The charismatic Hartford boxer ended his third consecutive match with what has become his trademark right-uppercut.

Rivera used his strength, energy and determined will to defeat South Boston’s Cobbs (10-3, 4 קאָס), whose previous fight had been more than a year ago, when he was stopped in the second round by now world champion דוד בענאַווידעז.

In only his sixth pro fight, the key question going into the bout was whether Rivera was ready to effectively step up in class to face a more experienced Cobbs. Right from the opening bell, the answer was a resounding, יאָ, as Rivera pounded Cobbs with powerful shots to the body and head.

Cobbs was dropped three times in the third round, one was ruled a push, and the end came when referee Jackie Morrell halted the action at the 2:51 as a reeling Cobbs was blasted backwards from the Rivera’s previously mentioned uppercut.

The beginning of the end for Cobbs (ל) as Rivera sets up his vaunted uppercut

I stepped things up in the third,” ריוועראַ דערקלערט. “He stopped throwing as many punches in the third and was ducking in. I said I wasn’t going to look for the knockout but, if it came, I’d take it. I got him with my uppercut. I respect Cobbs and thank him for giving me this opportunity.
אין די גלויבנס-ארויסגעשטעלטע געשעעניש, כאָומטאַון באַליבט באַבי “בה3” האַרריס, ווו (2-0-1), the two-time national amateur champion, and Brazilian super middleweight שאול Almeida (0-8-2) fought to a four-round majority draw.
Super middleweight טרוי “אָמאַר קאָ קינסטלער” קינסטלער (5-7-1, 3 קאָס), פון Danbury, קאָרט, upset intrastate rival דזשאָסע “ראַטעד ר” ריוועראַ (4-2, 3 קאָס), of Hartford, winning a six-round majority decision.
דאַנבורי, CT junior welterweight אָמאַר באָרדוי, דזשוניער. (4-0-, 1 קאָ) used a blistering body attack to defeat סעט באַסלער (0-5) by way of a lop-sided four-round unanimous decision.

Junior welterweight prospect ווילפרעדאָ “די סוקאַראָ” פּייגאַן (4-0, 2 קאָס) floored veteran ברייאַן “The Brick” אברהם (6-29-2, 6 קאָס) with a sweet right-left combination at the end of the opening round. אין די רגע קייַלעכיק, פּייגאַן, of Southbridge, MA., drilled Abraham who went flying across the ring and into the ropes as referee Jackie Morrell halted the bout.

Springfield, MA junior middleweight דעריק “שלעכט יינגל” Whitley (3-0) cruised to a dominating four-round unanimous decision over Cleveland’s ראַדזשער בלאַנקענשיפּ (1-3), pitching a complete shutout in the process.

Bridgeport, CT welterweight Joe Goss (1-0) turned in an impressive pro debut, dropping Montreal’s Samuel Vasquez (1-3, 1 קאָ) in the second round on his way to a four-round unanimous decision.

Puerto Rican junior lightweight לויס “Lobito” ריוועראַ (4-3, 1 קאָס) overcame a nasty cut over his eye to win a hard-fought four-round majority decision over Carlos Marrero, ווו (0-2), פון ברידזשפּאָרט, קאָרט, in a non-stop action fight to the finish.

Unbeaten Springfield, MA light heavyweight שטראַל “באַזאָאָקאַ” גראַסעסקי (5-0-1, 3 קאָס) and International Muay Thai fighter, Harford’s pro boxing debuting Pawel Banasiak (0-1-0), fought to a four-round draw in an entertaining brawl.

Puerto Rican super middleweight דזשעלאַמע גאַרסיאַ (7-0, 6 קאָס), fighting out of Lynn, MA., remained undefeated but Nathan Schulte (0-5), פון Woburn, מאַ, extended him the full distance for first time as a pro en route to a four-round unanimous decision.

PROMOTER DON KING SAYS MACHADO-MENSAH FIGHT HAS BECOME CONVOLUTED, FULL OF INTRIGUE & MACHINATION; WE ARE READY TO FIGHT!

Dkp

Deerfield Beach, פלאַ. (פעברואר. 9, 2018) – Boxing promoter Don King has been trying to finalize a fight with WBA super featherweight champion Alberto “El Explosivo” Machado for more than two months with his number two contender, Rafael Mensah.

“I’ve been dealing with Robert Diaz of Golden Boy Promotions and he seems to be a forthright person,” said King. “Since the beginning of December they have been telling me we would have an agreement to fight on January 27טה after they arranged a meeting with HBO’s Peter Nelson. It has been one story after another story.”

King continued: “I had the one call with Robert Diaz and he never called me back. We kept calling him. We were supposed to go in together to meet with Peter Nelson and they said we would have a 50-50 deal, and I’ve never heard from him. Mensah has been waiting three years for a title opportunity.

“My fighter was set to fight on Jan. 27, which is what we agreed upon. But I never heard back from anyone. They are playing the con game in trying to avoid this fight with Mensah. They are trying to get under the rules and not fight my future champion. The making of the Machado-Mensah fight has become convoluted and full of intrigue and machination. This whole thing has been mysterious. We are ready to fight!"

Mensah, who hails from Ghana, איז 31-0 מיט 23 קאָס.

Here is what Garcia, עללערבע, Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe and Danny’s father and trainer, Angel Garcia had to say פרייַטיק from DSG Boxing Gym in Philadelphia:
DANNY GARCIA
“אין די סוף פון די טאָג, everyone at welterweight has to prove themselves. The pieces will fall into place. Eventually we’ll all fight each other. I’m just going to keep taking it one fight at a time.
I’m excited to get back in the ring. I feel rejuvenated. My body feels fresh. Training camp has gone really well and now it’s time to get in there and go to work.
I learned from the Keith Thurman fight not to leave anything in the hands of the judges. It was a close fight that could have gone either way. I have to go for the kill, so it is what it is.
I was just enjoying myself for a little bit after the Thurman fight. I knew that I’d be back so it was good to get some time with my family and away from boxing. Now I’m back and ready to go.
This is a new chapter in my career. There are new obstacles to overcome. Just like I’ve always had in my career. I’m going to take it one fight at a time so I can get back to where I belong.
Once you’re a champion, you’re always a champion. אויף פעברואַר 17 I’m going to show everyone why I’m one of the best fighters in the world.
I’ve had my best performances in Las Vegas against Amir Khan and Lucas Matthysse. Las Vegas is where the stars fight so I’m happy to be fighting there again.
I’ve been preparing for everything. I’ve been working on boxing and brawling; it’ll just depend how I feel when the fight starts. I’m going to be ready for 12 rounds regardless.
DANNELL ELLERBE, Philadelphia Eagles linebacker
Just to know how starving Philadelphia has been for a Super Bowl championship, and to bring the first one, it’s a great feeling. These fans give you energy and make you play better.
It’s all love between the Philly athletes. We all show up for each other’s events and support each other. That’s really big to have a supportive community and I’m sure everyone will be rooting for Danny ווייַטער שבת.”
מלאך GARCIA, דאַני טאַטע & טראַינער
Brandon Rios is not going to be an easy opponent. דאס איז געגאנגען צו זייַן אַ גרויס קאַמף. Rios is a very tough fighter. There’s no way this is going to be an easy fight and Danny knows that.
Danny knows he can’t take anything lightly because Brandon Rios will be prepared. But he’s not going to win. Danny Garcia has never taken a beating; he gives them out.
Brandon Rios better keep his hands up. We’ll be ready in one week for Danny Garcia to be at his best. You’re going to see him once again show his great skills.
לעאָנאַרד עללערבע, סעאָ פון מייַוועאַטהער פּראָמאָטיאָנס
“גאַרסיאַ ווס. Brandon Rios is a great stylistic matchup. Rios is a very aggressive fighter who likes to put pressure on. Danny is a boxer-puncher, but I think you see that Danny really comes forward. He’s a guy who’s boxing skills are underrated.
Danny Garcia has been a unified champion and shown he’s one of the best fighters in the world. אַזאַ ווי פעברואַר 17, he’s going to make a big statement. There’s a lot of justified talk about other welterweights, but Danny Garcia is a name in this division who is here to stay.
The Benavidez vs. Gavril rematch is a fantastic fight. It’s a fight people have been looking for since the first time they faced off. I think it’s going to live up to what everyone has expected. I know Ronald has made some adjustments, and I’m sure Benavidez has made some too. I think it’s going to be an all-out war.
