Atlantic City.

The ten-round bout will headline a nine bout card dubbed Ring Redemption 1, promoted by Mis Downing Promotions in association with Silver Spoon Promotions.

The Premier Boxing Champions event is headlined by a showdown between three-division world champion Mikey Garcia and unbeaten IBF 140-pound champion Sergey Lipinets and also features two-division world champion Rances Barthelemy assumendo Kiryl Relikh in a rematch of their thrilling fight last May, this time for the vacant WBA 140-pound world title.
Quartieri (20-0 12 KO), who is trained by Virgil Hunter, returns for his first professional bout in San Antonio since he scored a 2015 knockout over Manuel Vides at AT&T Center in 2015. The 22-year-old has won three straight fights by stoppage since moving up to the 140-pound division last year.

Luna (22-0, 15 KO) and Commey (25-2, 22 KO) enter this fight ranked 11th e 3rd respectively by the IBF. The 26-year-old Luna, fighting out of Bellflower, Ca., most recently dominated Andrey Klimov on his way to a unanimous decision last April and faces his toughest competition to date on March 10. Commey rebounded from the narrow defeat to Easter and a subsequent close loss to Denis Shafikov with a unanimous decision victory last March in his native Ghana.
“Commey’s a tough competitor whose losses were very close, disputable fights that could have gone either way, so I’ll go in being smart, using my jab and sticking to our game plan,” said Luna. “We’re both boxer-punchers who like to mix it up, throw bombs and brawl if we have to. There’s going to be a lot of action and we might steal the show. We’ll give the fans their money’s worth, either way.”
“I think this is a good fight where neither of us are the favorite,” said Commey. “After losing two close decisions there is natural pressure to go for the knockout. But I believe that the judges will be fair and reward me if it goes the distance so I can earn another shot at the title. This is my first fight with Andre Rozier and I’m inspired working in his gym with guys like Daniel Jacobs and Sadam Ali. NEW YORK (Febbraio. 12, 2018) – Undefeated 140-pound contender Regis Prograis will now face former unified world champion Julius Indongo for the vacant Interim WBC Super Lightweight World Championship on Venerdì, Marzo 9, in the 12-round main event of SHOWTIME BOXING: SPECIAL EDITION live on SHOWTIME at 10 p.m. E/PT from Deadwood Mountain Grand in Deadwood, Dakota del Sud.

Indongo replaces the previously announced Viktor Postol, who was forced to withdraw from the bout with a hand injury.

Born in Namibia and now fighting out of Omaha, NE, Indongo (22-1, 11 KO) is a former unified champion who held the IBF and WBA 140-pound titles.

In 2016, Indongo traveled to Moscow, Russia, to dethrone IBF Junior Welterweight Champion Eduard Troyanovsky with a stunning first-round knockout. In his first defense as champion, Indongo traveled to Glasgow, Scozia, for a unification bout with WBA Champion Ricky Burns. The 35-year-old won a 12-round unanimous decision to become unified champion.

In his first bout as a unified titleholder, Indongo made his U.S. debut against fellow undefeated and unified champion Terence Crawford in a showdown to determine the undisputed champion of the 140-pound division. It was the first championship bout with all four major world titles at stake since Jermain Taylor dethroned Bernard Hopkins in 2005. Indongo lost to Crawford, suffering the only defeat of his professional career.

“I’m very excited to fight Regis Prograis on Marzo 9,” said Indongo. “This is a great opportunity for me toward becoming a world champion again. I know how good Prograis is, but come March 9, I’ll be victorious.”

The hotly contested first match between Dirrell and Uzcategui, which was also for the IBF interim world title, ended in controversy after Uzcategui was disqualified for landing a punch after the bell sounded to end the eighth round. Dirrell was dropped and knocked out by the punch. The referee ruled that the punch was intentional and disqualified Uzcategui. In the IBF mandated rematch, Dirrell and Uzcategui will look to put themselves in position to fight for the super middleweight title that Caleb Truax recently earned via a majority decision over James DeGale.
Dirrell (26-2, 16 KO), a bronze medal winner for the 2004 U.S. Olympic boxing team, continues his quest for a world championship. The 34-year-old southpaw from Flint, Michigan lost a split decision to Carl Froch in his first attempt in 2009 and dropped a narrow unanimous decision to DeGale in his next attempt in 2015.
“I’m extremely excited to be a part of one of the most dynamic tripleheaders this year,” Dirrell said. “This time around I’ll be phenomenal and leave no doubt who the better fighter is. Sono 100 percent focused on dominating Uzcategui on March 3 and getting another shot at the title.”

GH3 Promotions signs Heavyweight prospect Ronald Hines

Nutley, NJ (Febbraio. 12, 2018)–GH3 Promotions has signed Heavyweight prospect Ronald Hines.
Hines, 22 di Cleveland, Ohio is managed by former NFL Defensive End, Ray Edwards.
The 6’6″ Hines, began boxing at at the age of nine, as he was already involved in Karate, his dad took him to the boxing gym where he met his eventual trainer Push Davis.
Hines had an amateur career that saw him go 67-7, and he won the National Silver Gloves and the National Junior Olympics.
“I feel great signing with GH3 Promotions, they are a promotional outfit that can open doors for me,” disse Hines. “I met Vito Mielnicki and GH3 is more of a family atmosphere, and I like that.”
“I am fortunate to have Ray Edwards on my team. He has been there and done that in football. He has been through all situations, and he can help mentor me through whatever comes my way.”
Hines ran into some trouble as he was preparing for the U.S. National Tournament, and he will be returning to the ring after a brief absence.
“That was a minor setback for a major comeback. I have learned not to let petty things get in the way. I am extremely focused, and I am where I need to be.”
Promozioni GH3, Vito Mielncki is enthusiastic about his new heavyweight prospect.
“Ronald is a pure puncher who has good boxing ability. Lui è 235 libbre, and he is just a kid at 22 anni. I am going to get him with strength and conditioning coach Freddy Caruso and turn him pro in May. I am looking to get him 7-10 fights over the next 12 mesi, and seven more fights in the 2nd year. He has dedication to take him to the top of the world. I know he will grow from his experience, and I can help guide him and give him the info that will help him be successful. I want to help him keep focused which will not deter him from the path that was set for him.”

Wilfredo 'Bimbito’ Méndez will fight for the WBA Fedelatin title

After winning the Universal Boxing Federation (UBF) vacant Las Americas title last December, Wilfredo 'Bimbito’ Mendez (9-0, 4 KO) da Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico, will seek a top ranking spot in the World Boxing Association (WBA ) when he faces Nicaraguan Leyman Benavides (13-6-1, 2 KO) for the vacant WBA Minimumweight Fedelatin title.

 

 

 

 

The Méndez-Benavides duel will take place on Sabato, Marzo 17 at the Fiesta Hall of the Jaragua Hotel in Santo Domingo, Repubblica Dominicana.

 

 

 

 

“The Fedelatin title is of upmost importance because it places the boxer in the top 15 of the WBA rankings and in a matter of two or three additional fights, the opportunity to go for the world title is very possible. We trust in ‘Bimbito’s’ skills so that on Marzo 17, Puerto Rico will have another boxer close to a world title opportunity” said Raúl Pastrana, President of management company ‘Spartan Boxing Club’.

PARK CITY, Maggio. (Febbraio 11, 2018) – U.S. Olympian and hometown favorite Nico Hernandez captured the vacant International Boxing Association (IBA) Americas flyweight title in his fourth professional fight, headlining last night’s “KO notte Boxing” Oro & Gloria” carta, a Hartman Arena di Park City, Kansas.

Hernandez came out fast from the start, battering Torres’ body with tremendous combinations, and he never let up. Torres absorbed punishment but remained upright, but IBA referee Steve Smoger halted the action in the fifth round for Torres’ sicurezza.
“I’m not leaving this belt,” Hernandez commented at the post fight press conference as he handled his IBA Americas belt. “It’s going everywhere with me. I was looking forward to this fight and I’m ready to continue my success. This is the first (title belt) of many. I got what I worked hard for. I want to thank my coaches, all the work paid off, and now I have this (title belt).”

WORCESTER, Massa. In only his sixth pro fight, the key question going into the bout was whether Rivera was ready to effectively step up in class to face a more experienced Cobbs. Right from the opening bell, the answer was a resounding, di si, as Rivera pounded Cobbs with powerful shots to the body and head.

Puerto Rican junior lightweight Luis “Lobito” Rivera (4-3, 1 KO) overcame a nasty cut over his eye to win a hard-fought four-round majority decision over Immagine segnaposto Carlo Marrero, III (0-2), di Bridgeport, CT, in a non-stop action fight to the finish.

Deerfield Beach, Fla. (Febbraio. 9, 2018) – Boxing promoter Don King has been trying to finalize a fight with WBA super featherweight champion Alberto “El Explosivo” Machado for more than two months with his number two contender, Rafael Mensah.

“I’ve been dealing with Robert Diaz of Golden Boy Promotions and he seems to be a forthright person,"Disse King. “Since the beginning of December they have been telling me we would have an agreement to fight on January 27th after they arranged a meeting with HBO’s Peter Nelson. It has been one story after another story.”

King continuò: “I had the one call with Robert Diaz and he never called me back. We kept calling him. We were supposed to go in together to meet with Peter Nelson and they said we would have a 50-50 deal, and I’ve never heard from him. Mensah has been waiting three years for a title opportunity.

“My fighter was set to fight on Jan. 27, which is what we agreed upon. But I never heard back from anyone. They are playing the con game in trying to avoid this fight with Mensah. They are trying to get under the rules and not fight my future champion. The making of the Machado-Mensah fight has become convoluted and full of intrigue and machination. This whole thing has been mysterious. We are ready to fight!"
