Agbeko tops Blakey; Reyes Thrills in Nashville

Nashville, TN (Mac 19, 2018) – Rising prospect Sena “African Assassin” Agbeko put another victory in the books following a thoroughly dominant six round unanimous decision victory over veteran Lawrence Blakey Saturday, Mac 17 at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds in Nashville.

 

 

 

 

 

The Agbeko-Blakey matchup headlined a seven fight card promoted by Tri-Star Boxing.

 

 

 

 

 

Backed by a large group of fans, Agbeko took his time in the early going against his larger but defensively-minded southpaw foe. After getting into a rhythm, the Nashville transplant took over with a solid jab and crisp straight rights. Agbeko maintained his pace through the final bell while Blakey offered very little offensively.

Michael Dutchover Dominates in Main Event Debut

PHILADELPHIA, PENN./ORANGE, Calif. (Mac 19, 2018)–Junior ringan Michael Dutchover (8-0, 5 KOs) delivered an impressive performance in his main event debut Sabtu night from the Doubletree Hotel dalam Orange, Calif.

‘Argentinean Lomachenko’ Alberto Melian Wins First Professional Title in Second Pro Fight

This past Saturday, Mac 17, yang “Argentinean Lomachenko,” two-time Olympian Alberto “Impacto” Melian, fought for and won his first professional title in only his second professional fight.

Fighting on a show entitled “Night of the Olympians,” televised live on TyC Sports and VTV Uruguay and presented by Sampson Boxing in partnership with Tello Box and JEB Boxing, Melian was down for the first time in his young career in the first round, but came back to floor Aristule in the fifth, sixth and seventh rounds before his corner threw the towel at 0:15 daripada kelapan.

BRISCOE AWARDS THIS SUNDAY AT 1 PM ET

PHILADELPHIA – After ten years of celebrating the biggest and best achievements of the Philadelphia-area boxing scene, the Briscoe Awards will change the timing of their annual event, from October to March.
“For a few years now, I’ve considered moving the awards up to the first part of the year,” said John DiSanto, founder of the Briscoe Awards. “The original Fall time slot caused a lot of confusion, because by the time we gave out the awards, the fights were old news. Moving to March will allow us to give out the awards shortly after the fight year ends. I’m a little nervous about making a change, but in the long run, the move will only make the Briscoe Awards better.”
The Briscoe Awards honor the key fights and fighters of the Philly area every year. A total of eleven awards will be give out INI SUNDAY MARCH 25TH AT 1 PM ET, which includes prizes for the “Philly Fight of the Year”, yang “Philly Fight of the Year”, yang “Knockout Tahun”, “Amateur of the Year”, “Rookie of the Year”, “Prospek Tahun”, “Performance of the Year”, “Photo of the Year”, dan lebih.

Yang 24 year-old is a native of Brooklyn, New York had a stellar amateur career that saw him win 17 National championships beginning at 11 years old when he won the National Silver Gloves championship.

 

 

 

 

Ceballo, who began boxing at 8 years-old won 11 National titles as a junior and 6 National titles as a senior which includes the 2016 National Golden Gloves title, 2017 United States National Title.

 

 

 

 

Ceballo also captured the 2014 World Series of Boxing Team Trials, and was a Olympic trials semifinalist.

Russian Bantamweight Contender Nikolai Potapov Returns with TKO over Saltykov

Former NABO Champion and #2-rated WBO bantamweight contender Nikolai Potapov returned to action last Saturday night with a TKO 3 over his Russian countryman, Alexander Saltykov.

Fighting at the Floyd Mayweather Boxing Academy in Zhukovka, Rusia, Potapov looked sharp while forcing Saltykov to stay on his stool after two rounds of pounding.
The 28-year-old Potapov holds a victory over former world title challenger Antonio Nieves and fought to a draw with Stephen Young, who is fighting for WBA Interim title this weekend.

Emanuel Augustus joins special guests Micky Ward & Steve Smoger to complete memorable fight

COLORADO SPRINGS, Lap. (Mac 19, 2018) – Retired pro boxer Emanuel Augustus has confirmed his attendance this week at a USA Boxing-hosted reunion of the 2001 Fight Tahun, associated with the final stop on the 2018 USA vs. Ireland Northeast Boxing Tour festivities in Manchester, New Hampshire.

He went on to win a great fight.”
The high-profile win positioned Ward for what turned out to be his epic Gatti trilogy, while Augustus went on to become one of the most dangerous, upset-minded opponents in boxing. Plant City, FL (Mac 16, 2018) – World rated middleweight Yamaguchi Falcao returns to the ring Sabtu, Mac 31 against rugged Colombian Richard “La Lamina” Gutierrez in an eight round contest at the Marina Bay Sportsplex in Quincy, MA.
Born and raised in Brazil but now fighting out of Plant City, FL under head trainer Jose Rodriguez, Falcao captured a Bronze Medal at the London Olympics in 2012. Team USA middleweight Troy Isley was named Most Outstanding Boxer of the night

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (Mac 16, 2018) – Team USA defeated Team Ireland, 7-3, last night (Khamis) on the second stop of the three-city 2018 USA vs. Ireland Northeast Boxing Tour, at MassMutual Center MGM Springfield in Massachusetts.

Team USA defeated Team Ireland in team scoring, 8-4, last Monday in the first dual and it also clinched the team title last night, holding a 2-0 advantage with one more match-up to go in the series.
Khamis night’s final score was somewhat misleading, walaupun, much more competitive than the final team score may indicate, as the first five matches ended in 2-1 split decisions, all in favor of Team USA.
Gifted California bantamweight Marc Castro won his second straight bout on this tour,defeating George Bates, 2-1, in the Fight of the Night.
Most Outstanding Boxer of the night, Virginia middleweight Troy Isley, yang 2017 Elite World Championship bronze medalist, locked up the team victory and series clincher in the seventh match of the night with an up-close-and-personal unanimous decision over game Irish middleweight Gerard French.

Jones dropped Walsh in the opening round, but the Irish boxer battled back in another second spirited confrontation.
In the opening match of the evening, Virginia light welterweight Amelia Moore, in her first international bout, upset World Championships silver medalist lightweight Kellie Harrington, 2-1.
