TEMECULA, Calif. (Mulole 15, 2015) – While Brandon “Ng'ombe” Halsey (9-0) can no longer say he’s Bellator MMA’s Middleweight World Champion, he’s still managed to show his talent with a one-sided destruction of proven veteran Kendall “The Spyder” Grove (21-15).

The contest served as the feature main event of Lachisanu “Bellator: Halsey vs. Grove” card at Pechanga Resort & Casino mu Temecula, Calif.

Halsey nearly finished the fight in the early going, moving to an arm-triangle choke that would have finished a lesser opponent, but Grove somehow battled through the effort. Komabe, it was a one-sided round for the former champ.

Grove was able to avoid such a precarious position in the second, but he was still forced to be on the defensive throughout most of the frame. With a high-paced wrestling attack, Halsey simply pushed his way to the floor and enjoyed top position for almost the entirety of the round.

The pattern continued as the fight wore on, with Halsey simply overpowering his opponent and constantly earning himself the dominant position. Grove briefly threatened with an armbar in the fourth frame, but Halsey simply yanked his limb free and pounded away with punches shortly after until he earned the TKO win at the 2:25 mark of the frame.

The undefeated Halsey, who was stripped of the Bellator MMA Middleweight World Title for failing to make weight, will look to again earn the belt in his next appearance.

“I was my own worst enemy. It was how I performed. He didn’t throw anything at me that I wasn’t ready for. I was just trying to tough through the injury. I had to tough it out and come out with the victory,” Halsey said.

“Obviously, you want to be as dominant as possible. I just felt like I couldn’t explode through my combinations or explode through the fight and finish how I wanted to. But like I said, you’ve got to deal with adversity, and I did it the best I could,” Halsey continued.

“I learned my lesson. I thank Bellator. I apologize to the commission. It’s unprofessional not to make weight. Palibe zifukwa, but anybody knows that it’s hard to cut weight with an injury. The belt’s just a decoration, so I’m still the champ in my eyes. No one has taken the belt from me.”

In the night’s co-main event, former Bellator MMA Bantamweight World Champion Eduardo “Dudu” Dantas (17-4), of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, took a step toward another shot at the title with a hard-fought decision victory over the hard-hitting Mike “Sitima” Richman, of Rose Mount, Kuchokera.

While Richman showed excellent takedown defense throughout the 15-minute affair, Dantas’ work rate helped him earn the favor of the judges. Constantly pressing and looking to bring the fight to the floor, Dantas was able to just edge out Richman on the cards, 29-28 according to all three officials.

I went out there and fought the way I trained to fight,” Dantas said after the win. “I knew Mike Richman was going to come with everything, but I wanted to win this fight and get back to the title. The only fight that makes sense next is for the title.

In a welterweight contest, Fernando “The Menifee wamisala” Gonzalez (24-13), of Menifee, Calif., scored a thrilling, come-from-behind victory over “Curtious” Curtis Millender (7-2), wa San Bernardino, Calif.

With Millender enjoying a six-inch height advantage, the smaller Gonzalez struggled to score points in the first two rounds. But when the fight hit the floor in the third, Gonzalez latched onto a guillotine choke and earned a tap from his opponent at the 1:14 komaliza kuzungulira.

“Ine ndiri 4-0 pompano,” Gonzalez said after the win. “That’s one step closer to the title, and I’m excited to get in there and mix it up with whoever is next.

With the result, Gonzalez now boasts four-straight Bellator MMA victories and put himself in line for a potential shot at the promotion’s Welterweight Title.

In the night’s first main-card matchup, undefeated chiyembekezo DarrionThe WolfCaldwell (7-0), of Rahway, N.J., used a superior wrestling game to outwork more experienced opponent Rafael “Morcego” Silva (22-5), of Lajes, Brazil, en route a unanimous-decision victory.

With Caldwell scoring takedowns throughout the matchup, Silva looked for submissions when available, but he simply couldn’t find the necessary hold to work past his opponent’s defense. M'malo, Caldwell kept his pressure high, and judges awarded him the fight, 29-28 onse atatu makadi.

After the victory, Caldwell made it clear he’s clearing his way to a shot at the Bellator MMA World Title.

I don’t think there are any fighters out there as explosive as me at 135 mapaundi, or as fast,” Caldwell said. “Patapita, I’ll be able to prove that.

In the night’s final preliminary bout, Guam’s Joe Taimanglo (21-6-1) scored a third-round knockout of Mexico’s Antonio Duarte (18-6).

Kuwonjezera, featherweight chiyembekezo Jordan Parsons (11-1), wa San Diego, Calif., earned a third-round decision win over the previously undefeated Brazilian Julio Cesar Neves Jr. (30-1).

Mu kuwala heavyweight mpikisano, Virgil Zwicker (14-4-1), of Temecula, Calif., earned a first-round knockout win over Razak Al-Hassan (12-5), wa Milwaukee, Wisc.

And in the night’s first fight, Ricky “The Sniper” Rainey (11-3), of Gastonia, N.C., earned a second-round knockout win over Jessie Juarez (22-10), wa Torrance, Calif.

Last February, Hinojosa was scheduled to face the Puerto Rican fighter but the fight was canceled due to the Dominican visa issues.
I’m aware that I’m facing an experienced opponent who will be coming with every trick in the book. He is a battle tested veteran boxer that throws a lot of punches and perhaps this maybe the toughest fight of my career, but my team and I are working hard in preparation for this fight, and we will be ready for everything and anything he may come up with during the fight to assure that the belt won’t leave Puerto Rico”, said Emmanuel Rodriguez, amene anapitiriza, “in the social media outlets many fans have told me that Hinojosa is in great condition, and has not stopped training since the fight was canceled in February. In his last brawl held in February, Rodriguez defeated Hungarian champion, Gabor Molnar by TKO in the second round.
After suffering seven losses early in his career, mu 2010 Hinojosa got on a hot victory streak by winning his next 25 fights and captured the WBA Fedecaribe and WBA Fedelatin titles in the process. Mu August 2014, Hinojosa traveled to Venezuela for the biggest fight of his career, which was for the WBA Interim World title. His opponent Yonfrez Parejo defeated Hinojosa by TKO in the eleventh round in a close and exciting bout.
Immediately, Hinojosa returned to the winning column by obtaining a TKO victory in the third round over prospect, Luis Rosa in November 2014.
Rodriguez’s manager Juan Orengo commented; “Hinojosa is very ready and his team has warned us to be prepared. I’m very confident in Manny’s talent and that he will prevail in the fight and will retain his belt while ensuring the fans get a great show. This will be an all out war from beginning and in the end, the real winners will most definitely be the fans”.
If all goes well, ‘Mannywill be back in August and at the end of the year we will be shooting for a world title at 118 lbs.” Orengo said.

Nkhata Bay, Ireland (April 12, 2015) – Unified super bantamweight world champion Bill “The Jackal” Rigondeaux (15-0, 10 Ko), arguably the most avoided reigning world title holder in modern boxing history, will travel to London next month in order to publicly confront his mandatory challenger, Scott QUIGG (30-0-2, 22 Ko), the World Boxing Association (WBA) “okhazikika” 122-mapaundi magawano titlist.

A month ago in an unusual move, Rigondeaux’ manenjala Gary Hyde formally petitioned the WBA to enforce a mandatory title fight between his WBA Super champion and Quigg. Hyde is awaiting the WBA’s decision. Rigondeaux is also the World Boxing Organization (WBO) ndipo Apeza Magazini a wapamwamba bantamweight ngwazi.

A reigning world champion hasn’t been avoided by other world champions and top contenders like Rigondeux has for the past two years since, mwina, juniyo middleweight Sergio Martínez, or possibly all the way back to middleweight Mike McCallum.

The top three super bantamweights in the world outside of RigondeauxInternational Boxing Federation (IBF) ndi World Council Maseŵera a nkhonya (WBC) champions, Carl Frampton ndipo Leo Santa Cruz, ankalemekeza, plus Quigghave avoided the Cuban great like the plaque. Once Santa Cruzpromoter at the time, Oscar de A La Hoya, announced that a Rigondeaux-Santa Cruz had to happen, Santa Cruz’ powerful adviser, Al HAYMON, exercised a contract option and bought him out to avoid a fight with ‘Rigo.Frampton’s promoter, Barry McGuigan, has proclaimed his fighter, not Rigondeaux, as the No. 1 super featherweight in the world. McGuigan, Komabe, is interested in Frampton fighting Quigg in a U.K. chiwonetsero, rather than a world mega-fight for three of the four major sanctioning world titles. As the “okhazikika” WBA champion, Quigg is Rigondeaux’ kuvomerezedwa Challenger, komabe, he apparently wants no part of the two-time Olympic gold medalist because his promoter, Barry Hearn, not only hasn’t pushed the issue, he’s in negotiations with McGuigan for Frampton to fight Quigg.

Former world super bantamweight champions Nonito Doniare, after he lost a unification fight to Rigondeaux two years ago, ndipo Abineri Mares chose to move up one division to fight as featherweights. And now Donaire reports that his manager was contacted by a Quigg representative to discuss a Donaire-Quigg fight in England.

Another two-time Olympic gold medalist, WBO 126-pound champion Vasyl Lomachenko, continually insists that “Line” has to move up in weight for a fight to happen despite him having no problems making 126.

“QUIGG, Santa Cruz and Frampton have showed no desire to challenge Rigondeaux,” Hyde anati. “These three fighters are trying to fool the public into believing that fight ndi No. 1 guy in the world is not important. While they are lining their pockets with ridiculous amounts of cash for fighting below par opponents, Rigondeaux is forced to wait around until some Asian opponent steps up. This is a sport in which we are accustomed to seeing the best fighting the best but, in the super bantamweight division, it’s the best versus the rest.

Rigondeaux will travel to Manchester to fight Quigg, Belfast to fight Frampton, or Las Vegas to fight Santa Cruz. None of these so-called world champions, Komabe, will consider fighting the acknowledged world super bantamweight champion. They’re all much more content to hold onto their belts than beating The Man in their weight class.

Next month, Hyde reports, Rigondeaux will travel to the United Kingdom in a bold attempt to embarrass Quigg into fighting him. “I don’t like traveling overseas unless I have a fight lined up,” Rigondeaux explained, “but I will travel to England in May to publicly call out Scott Quigg. If he turns down the chance to fight our WBA mandatory, he will be remembered for that instead of being known as a great fighter. While I’m in the UK, I will also go to Belfast to checkout Carl Frampton to ask if he wants to prove himself against the best in his division.

Understanding that the top super bantamweight action is currently in Europe, noting a record purse ($2.2 million USD) offered for a Frampton vs. Quigg fight, Rigondeaux is considering a major change in the not too distant future, moving his base from Miami to the UK, if that’s what it takes for him to get in on the action.

Hyde also manages former WBO middleweight champion and current International Boxing Federation (IBF) Osa. 1 kuvomerezedwa contender Hassan N'Dam N'Jikam (31-1, 18 Ko), former WBA Interim cruiserweight champion Yuri “El Toro” Kalenga (21-2, 14 Ko) and Georgian super lightweight Levan “The Wolf” Ghvamichava (14-1-1, 11 Ko) , as well as top prospects such as Cuban super bantamweight Mark Forest (2-0, 2 Ko), Irish heavyweight Ndi Sheehan and Bulgarian light heavyweight Blagoy Naydenov.
