Philadelphia – June 27, 2017 – Victory Boxing Promotions’ most talked-about prospect, Jaron “Boots” Ennis, has much to celebrate for his 20th birthday today. The Philadelphia welterweight secured his 13th win at the Durham Armory in North Carolina last Thursday, besting Robert Hill over three rounds.

Hill, a veteran of forty fights, came to Durham just one fight removed from an impressive upset victory over the Dominican Republic’s Eudy Bernardo (21-2, 15KO). After three rounds that included Ennis’ trademark punishment to the body, Hill’s corner declined to send him back into the ring for the fourth round, handing Ennis his 13th victory, and his 11th by stoppage.

“I only got hit one time during the fight,” said Ennis. “I went in there, and had fun like I always do. He backed up the whole time. When I first came, I was touching him to the body a lot, and that slowed him down. He didn’t come out for the fourth round.”

Ennis returns to the ring in the co-main event August 12th at Nations Fight Night at the historic Howard Theatre in Washington DC. Ennis will be the co-feature in what will be his first eight-round bout. “I’m thankful to have been so busy since my debut,” said Ennis. “It keeps me sharp, and I’m excited for my first eight rounder. I’m ready to show more of my talent, and the results of my hard work.”

Tickets for Nations Fight Night are priced $60-2000, and are available through Ticketmaster. Doors for the event open at 6:00 p.m. and the first bell is at 7:00 p.m.on August 12th.

ATLANTIC CITY (JUNE 12, 2017) — This past Saturday, welterweight Thomas LaManna won an eight-round unanimous decision over veteran Carlos Winston Velasquez that headlined a card at The Claridge Hotel in Atlantic City.
The show was the 8th consecutive capacity capacity crowd promoted by Rising Promotions at the Claridge
LaManna dominated the action with power shots that he landed behind a long jab throughout the contest.  Velasquez was game as he took a lot of shots and landed an occasional power shot.  LaManna sealed the deal in the final round when he landed a flush 4-punch combination that put Velasquez on the canvas.
LaManna of Millville, NJ won on all cards by scores of 80-71 to raise his mark to 23-2.  Velasquez falls to 24-29-2.
“Velasquez was tough and durable,”said LaManna following the fight.
“I needed this fight, and now I would like to fight Kermit Cintron if he should win his fight with Tyrone Brunson on June 24th.  Maybe he will stop ducking me,  I want to fight a big name like Cintron, Zab Judah or a rematch with Dusty Harrison.  We at Rising Promotions will be back here at the Claridge on August for our 9th event.”
Anthony Young won a eight-round unanimous decision over George Sosa in an entertaining welterweight contest.
Young was extremely active as he landed hard combinations with Sosa landing an occasional hard shot to the head.
Young of Atlantic City won by scores of 80-72 twice and 80-71 to raise his mark to 17-2.  Sosa of Reading, PA is 15-9.
Donald Smith remained undefeated by winning a four round unanimous decision over Sidell Blocker in super featherweight bout.
Smith of Philadelphia won on all cards 40-36, and is now 5-0.  Blocker of Pleasantville, NJ is 1-8-1.
Chris Thomas and Oscar Valdez battled to a four round majority draw in a middleweight contest.
Thomas of Beachwood, NJ took a card 39-37, while two judges saw it even at 38-38.
Thomas is now 6-0-1.  Valdez of Batesville, ARK is 1-2-1.
Gabriel Pham won a six round unanimous decision over Edgar Perez in a light heavyweight bout.
Pham won on all cards 60-54 and is now 9-1. Perez of Chicago is 7-21.
Tomas Romain won a four round unanimous decision over Lamont White in a lightweight bout.

Romain of Brooklyn, NY won by scores of 40-36 twice and 39-37, and is now 3-1. White of Washington, DC is now 1-8.

Elijah Vines remained perfect with a 3rd round stoppage over Harry Tyrone Paige in a scheduled four round junior middleweight bout.

In round one, Vines dropped Paige with a perfect right hook. In round three, Vines dropped Paige with a right to the body. Paige got to his feet, but his corner pulled the plug at 1:42.

Vines of Philadelphia is 4-0 with 4 knockouts. Paige of Batesville, ARK is 0-5.

Frederick Julan stopped Jose Valderrama in the 6th and final round of their light heavyweight bout.

Julan dropped Valderrama in round six with a body shot. Julan finished off the when he dropped Valderrama for a 2nd time with a right hook to the head, and the fight was stopped at 1:17.

Julan of Brooklyn, NY is 5-0 with three knockouts. Valderrama of Manati, PR is 5-20.

Dan Pasciolla and LeMarcus Tucker battled to a majority draw in a rematch of Heavyweights.

In round one, Pasciolla began to bleed from his nostrils.

Pasciolla took a card 58-56. That was overruled by 57-57 scores.

Pasciolla of Brick, NJ is 9-2-3. Tucker of Batesville, ARK is 4-2-1.

Atlantic City, NJ (June 8, 2017)–Welterweight contender, Thomas “Cornflake” LaManna feels that he is on the brink of a breakthrough win, and he is looking to fight a big name later this Summer that will help catapult himself up the rankings, and on his way to a world title shot.
This Saturday night at The Claridge Hotel in Atlantic City, he first must get through 54-fight veteran Carlos Winston Velasquez in the eight-round main event of a card promoted by Rising Promotions.
LaManna, 22-2 with nine knockouts of Millville, New Jersey, will be looking for his 2nd consecutive win, and a win over Velasquez would set up a coveted fight with highly thought of foe.
“I am looking forward to a great fight on Saturday.  I am not taking Velasquez lightly as he is a tough veteran who has had 54 fights,” said LaManna. “After I win, I want something big.  Myself and Rising Promotions have regional title bouts in mind.  Fights with Zab Judah and Kermit Cintron have been brought up.  The ultimate goal is to get world rated, and climb up the ladder with meaningful fights that I would like to take place in Atlantic City.”

Atlantic City, NJ (June 7, 2017)–Super Middleweight Gabriel Pham (8-1, 4 KO’s)  will look for his 3rd consecutive victory when he takes on veteran Edgar Perez in a bout scheduled for six-rounds that will be part of a packed undercard this Saturday night at The Claridge Hotel in Atlantic City

In the main event, Thomas “Cornflake” LaManna (22-2, 9 KO’s) takes on Carlos Winston Velasquez (24-28-2, 15 KO’s) in an eight-round welterweight contest
Since suffering his only professional blemish, the 28 year-old Pham of Atlantic City, New Jersey has stopped his two previous opponents.
Pham believes he will only get better as his trainer, Chuck Eisenbeis will be back in his corner after being absent from Pham’s last couple of bouts.
“It is good to have him back.  He taught me everything that I know,” said Pham.  “We have been working on footwork, and my jab.  I have seen the improvement everyday.  Chuck has been working with some UFC fighters and it is great to have him back.”
In Perez he is taking on a durable fighter, who has faced many top prospects, 13 undefeated fighters and a world champion in Jermall Charlo.
“He is a Puerto Rican.  I know he is tough as I am Puerto Rican as well.  He has 27 fights, so that is three-times more than I have.  He is experienced and he goes rounds for the most part.  I have seen some film where can be slick, so I have to be cautious of that.  I have been working hard, so I am confident that I will get the job done.”
With a win, Pham can see himself getting into contention for some regional title opportunities.
“A win will set me up for a step up fight.  I will discuss that with my manager after this fight.  I am happy where I am at as this will be the 3rd fight this year for me and this is by far the busiest stretch of my career.  I am looking to impress the fans and keep doubling the expectations with each fight.  This will be a top-shelf performance.  I want to stop this guy.  I don’t go in looking for it, but if I see that I have him staggered or hurt, I will try to get him out of there.”

Atlantic City, NJ (June 6, 2017)–Popular native son, welterweight Anthony “Juice” Young will look for his 6th consecutive win when he battles hard-hitting George Sosa in the eight-round co-feature this Saturday night at The Claridge Hotel in Atlantic City.

In the main event, Thomas “Cornflake” LaManna (22-2, 9 KO’s) takes on Carlos Winston Velasquez (24-28-2, 15 KO’s) in an eight-round welterweight contest
Young of Atlantic City has a record of 16-2 with six knockouts has won five in a row was given the task of fighting Sosa on two weeks notice.  Young was training for an all-New Jersey showdown with Juan “The Beast” Rodriguez, Jr. but Rodriguez had to pull out due to an injury.
“My camp has been great.  Sosa is a late-replacement, but that really does not matter, because I was preparing for whoever,”said the 29 year-old Young.
Young knows that Sosa is a big puncher, but feels he is a different fighter outside of his home-country of the Dominican Republic.
“Sosa has 15 wins, and I know he has all of his victories by knockout.  But he was matched lightly when he fought in the Dominican Republic.  It doesn’t matter what he will bring, because I have been preparing for him like he is Floyd Mayweather.”
Young has been preparing in New Jersey under the tutelage of trainer, Raul “Chino” Rivas.  Young is in a camp that includes recent world champion Jason Sosa, top contender Tevin Farmer and lightweight contender Michael Perez among others, and Young feels that the switch of trainers, which mirrors this win streak is no coincidence.
“Chino has fixed a lot of my bad habits.  He has me working on the jab, pivoting, and working the body.  Since moving to Chino, I have improved with every fight.”
This will be the 10th appearance on the Boardwalk for Young, and he will look to his mark to 9-1 in Atlantic City (Young is 2-0 at The Claridge).
“I am privileged to fight where I was born.  I always look forward to fighting in Atlantic City, and I look forward to putting on a great show on Saturday night.”
Sosa of New Jersey has a record of 15-8 with all 15 wins coming via knockout.
The 30 year-old Sosa is a six-year professional, who began his career in the Dominican Republic with six consecutive knockouts.
Sosa’s losses have come to fighters who had a combined record of 87-7-1 and they included Three undefeated fighters plus contenders Ray Robinson and Ed Peredes.
Sosa has won two consecutive bouts by knockout as in his most recent effort he stopped Jesus Pascual in three rounds on October 29, 2016 in the Domincan Republic.

Atlantic City, NJ (May 12, 2017)–Welterweight contender Thomas “Cornflake” LaManna will headline a stacked card on Saturday, June 10th at The Claridge Hotel in Atlantic City.
The show is promoted by Rising Star Promotions.
LaManna of Millville, New Jersey will compete in a bout scheduled for eight-rounds.
The 25 year-old LaManna has a record of 22-2 with nine knockouts.
LaManna won his first 16 bouts, where enjoyed wins over Ashanti Gibbs and Jamaal Davis.
After suffering his first professional defeat to undefeated middleweight prospect Antoine Douglas, LaManna ripped off five consecutive victories that was highlighted by by a 4th round stoppage over Kendal Mena (20-3).
On September 15, 2016, LaManna engaged in a hotly contested bout with undefeated Dusty Hernandez Harrison in Philadelphia.  The bout, which was for the USBA Welterweight title was a close fight and LaManna fought well, but came up just short via unanimous decision.
LaManna will be looking for his 2nd consecutive victory, as in his last bout, he won a one-sided eight round unanimous decision over Ecuadorian veteran Eduardo Flores on January 28th at The Claridge.
This will be LaManna’s 5th appearance, and 15th start in Atlantic City.
“I’m happy to be back in the ring, I was supposed to fight on April 14th, but unfortunately the promoters did not live up to their word so I ended up not fighting. I gone through some personal issues that kept me down and out for a while, but I bounced back. I’m now with a new teacher Mr. Charles Johnson, leading my training. In the eight-round co-feature, it will be a battle of New Jersey based welterweight’s as local favorite Anthony “Juice” Young will take on Juan “The Beast”  Rodriguez.
Young of Atlantic City has a record of 16-2 with six knockouts.
Young is a six-year professional and is coming off a career best performance against Samuel Amoako (21-13, 15 KO’s). That bout took place on March 11th. The 29 year-old will be making his 10th appearance in Atlantic City and 3rd at The Claridge.
Rodriguez of Union City, New Jersey has a record of 13-4 with five knockouts.
Rodriguez is an eight-year professional who has wins over Greg Jackson (3-0-1), and in his last bout he took an eight-round split decision in a all out war over Alex Perez (18-2) on August 27, 2016 in Bayonne, New Jersey.

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (APRIL 25, 2017)–This Past Saturday, Keenan Smith stopped Edgar Gabejan in round seven of their scheduled eight round super lightweight bout that headlined a six bout card at The Claridge Hotel in Atlantic City.
The show was promoted by GH3 Promotions and D and D Management.
Smith dominated the action, as Gabejan was reduced to lunging holding and even went to the canvas several times for slips. Smith was able to score a knockdown in round seven from a flurry of punches. Smith was fully in control and stepped on the gas in the seventh, as he dropped Gabejan for a second time from a flurry of body punches. Gabejan got to his feet, but he had taken enough punishment and the fight was stopped at 1:43.
Smith of Philadelphia is now 11-0 with five knockouts. Gabejan of the Philippines is 27-34-7.

Kenneth Sims, Jr. remained undefeated by stopping Israel Villela in round three of their scheduled six-round super lightweight bout.
Sims battered a tough Villela, and then in round two cut him around the right eye. In round three, Sims landed three flush blows, and the bout was stopped at 1:03.
Sims of Chicago is 12-0 with 4 knocouts. Villela of Cancun, MX is 6-5-2. 
Heavyweight’s Tyrell Wright and Dan Pasciolla fought to a 6-round draw.
Both fighter’s took a card 58-56, and a third card read even at 57-57.
Wright of Jersey City, NJ is 9-0-2. Pasciolla of Brick, NJ is 9-2-2.
John Bauza needed just 17 seconds to destroy Francis Gakpetor in the scheduled six-round super lightweight bout.
Bauza decked Gakpetor with a hard 1-2 and and the fight was over soon as he hit the gorund.
Bauza of North Bergen, NJ is 6-0 with three knockouts. Gakpetor of Ghana is 2-4-1.
Dylan Price stopped Chris Nelson in round three of their scheduled four round super flyweight bout.
Price started to beat-down Nelson in round two, and in round three battered Nelson until putting him down with a body shot, and the fight was stopped at 2:37.
Price of Sicklerville, NJ is 2-0 with two knockouts. Nelson of Kentucky is 1-4.

Atlantic City, NJ (April 19, 2017)- Undefeated junior welterweight Kenneth Sims, Jr. will look to make it 12 in a row without a loss when he takes on tough Mexican Israel Villela in a six-round co-feature bout this Saturday night at The Claridge Hotel In Atlantic City.

The bout will be part of a ten-bout card promoted by GH3 Promotions and D and D Promotions.
In the main event, undefeated junior welterweight Keenan Smith (10-0, 4 KO’s) of Philadelphia takes on veteran Edgar Gabejan of the Philippines in a bout scheduled for eight-rounds.
Sims of Chicago, will be making his 2nd consecutive start on the boardwalk after his eight-round unanimous decision over Emmanuel Robles (15-1-1) on January 20th at Ballys.  That fight was part of a ShoBox: The New Generation card seen live on Showtime.
Sims got the call to take a “Stay Busy” fight, before he steps back up later in the Summer.
“I found out about this fight three weeks ago.  It is not a big deal, I already had been sparring, so I am in good shape and ready for Saturday,” said Sims.
In Villela, Sims has seen little, but not a lot of his opponent, but he will be ready for anything that Villela will bring to the ring.
“I saw a few Youtube videos, but I did not see a lot to get to a feel for him.  But I am an experienced fighter, and I just have to fight my fight.  I am not underestimating him, and I know he will be trying to win.”
In the fight with Robles, Sims fought well throughout, and gave a brief critique of his performance.
“I looked over the last fight, and I looked better watching it on television then I thought I did in the ring.  With that being said, I know I have things to work on, and I could have looked better.”
Sims is looking for a big performance on Saturday that will be a prelude to a busy Summer.
“It would be good to get a stoppage.  I am looking to come back May 13th in Louisiana, then a fight back on television.”

Tyrell Wright (9-0-1, 6 KO’s) of Jersey City, NJ will face Dan Pasciolla (9-2-1) of Brick, New Jersey in a heavyweight bout.
In a battle of undefeated super lightweights, John Bauza (5-0, 2 KO’s) of North Bergen, NJ will fight Jesus Salas (1-0, 1 KO) of Puerto Rico
In four-round bouts:
Elijah Vines (3-0, 3 KO’s) of Philadelphia will take on James Robinson (4-7-4, 1 KO) of York, PA in a super welterweight bout.
