ARTUR BETERBIEV WON’T FIGHT IN RIO OLYMPICS

MONTREAL, Kanada (Jun 15, 2016) – After careful consideration, rising Groupe Yvon Michel (GYM) star and double Russian Olympian, Artur Beterbiev, will not take part in the qualifying process to earn a spot to compete in the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

An Olympic qualifying tournament for professional boxers will be held Juli 3-8 in Vargas, Venezuela, following the decision of the International Amateur Boxing Association (AIBA) to include professionals in the Olympic tournament.

MONTREAL (Jun 4) – As the world mourns the loss of Muhammad Ali, Subota night’s Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) on ESPN and ESPN Deportes telecast began with a “Ceremonial 10-Count” in memory of “The Greatest” and continued to pay tribute to him throughout the telecast that was headlined by a light heavyweight bout between hard-hitting Russian Olympian Artur Beterbiev against Argentina’s Ezequiel Maderna.

Clark regained his composure in between the first and second, controlling the fight from then on. An undefeated 27-year-old out of Fort Myers, Florida, Perrella comes in off a second round stoppage of Ramon Ayala in January. He picked up five knockouts in a row in 2015 and looks to make it 11 in a row overall when he faces his toughest test yet on Jun 4.
A Washington D.C. product, Grayton was a National Golden Gloves Champion who beat Errol Spence Jr. on his way to picking up that title. The 28-year-old entered the professional ranks in 2012 and is unbeaten since. “Vrlo sam sretan i ponosan što su dio druge PBC kartice i da su imali borbu u Sjedinjenim Državama. Zadnji put sam bio u Chicagu se vratio u 2007 u istom prostoru. Tako se činilo sjajno vratiti se.

 

“Ja sam bokser, ali ja ne volim zvati ljude i uvrede njima. Ne mogu predvidjeti budućnost, ali ja ću naporno da bi moj pobjednički niz čak i bolje od ovoga. Želim najveći pojas da mogu dobiti. To je moj cilj.”

 

ALEXANDER JOHNSON

 

“Kratkom roku nije bitno jer je to dio igre da uvijek bude pripremljen. Nemam izgovora. On je bio bolji večeras.

 

“Dobio je u jednom zeca udarac iza uha koji me pogođeni više od nekih drugih snimaka, ali sve u svemu on je bio samo bolji borac večeras.

“Želim se zahvaliti navijačima ovdje u Chicagu. Ovo je velika prilika da pokažem svoje sposobnosti na nacionalnoj televiziji na Spike.

“Bio sam nestrpljiv da se vrati u ring nakon mog prvog naslova odbrane i Delvin Rodriguez je dostojnog protivnika.

“Ja sam vrlo uzbuđen za ovu borbu. Imali smo veliki kamp za obuku. Mi smo se dešavalo oko tri mjeseca, i ja stvarno mislim da je ovo jedan od najboljih kampova koje sam ikada imao.

 

“Sve je palo na svoje mjesto ovaj put. Kao borac, uvek se kao da je možda bilo nešto nedostaje. Za ovu borbu smo imali dovoljno vremena za pripremu.

 

“Uzimam ovu borbu, kao da je to moja zadnja prilika. To je kako ću se boriti ovoj borbi. Tako sam programiran moj um za ovu borbu, kao da leđima je uza zid. Ovo mi je zadnja šansa na svijetu naslov.

 

“Ja sam pred velikim bokser. On je vrlo tehnička borca, a on ima velike sposobnosti. I to pomaže motiviraju me još više. To me je raditi toliko teže za ovu borbu.

 

“Čitao sam dosta o tome što mediji govore o ovoj borbi. Obećavam navijačima da sve moram da radim, ovo će biti uzbudljiv borba. To mora da bude uzbudljiv borba za Delvin Rodriguez, jer ovo mi je zadnja šansa.”

 

ARTUR BETERBIEV

“Veoma mi je drago biti ovdje u Chicagu za ovu borbu. Ja sam spreman na sve u ringu.

 

“Ako je moj protivnik će se zvati sebe Alexander 'The Great’ Johnson, onda ću biti 'Kralj Arthur’ a ja sam tu da osvoji. Iako sam se taj vic sam tu da osvoji i da je istina.

 

“Nismo mogli ne previše istraživanja o novom protivniku, ali smo pogledali kroz nekoliko videa tako da znamo protivnik jućnjak i spremni smo za to.

 

“Ne volim da mi je potcijeniti protivnika i pripremiti za sve isti. Ja ću biti spreman protiv njega.

 

“Moja zadnja borba protiv Gabriel Campillo bio protiv jućnjak, tako da je to nešto što sam navikao i mislim da imam znanja, tako da neće biti problem.”

 

ALEXANDER JOHNSON

 

“I’m not a big talker. Petak we’ll see, ali mislim da je on (Beterbiev) Sve je hype.

“Znam da je Manuel Quezada je čvršći borac od tipa sam se borio zadnji put u Chicagu, ali sam mnogo bolje nego što sam ja bio tada.

 

“Moj Poljski navijači mi uvijek pomogne. Kada sam se borio Mike Mollo, i ja otišao, Čuo sam ih kako vrište moje ime; Znam da ne mogu da ih razočarati. Ja ću im uvijek dati sve od sebe.

 

“Naravno da želim da knock out Quezada, and hopefully it will be seen on Spike.

 

“Želim biti veći deo Premier Boxing Champions, ali najvažnija stvar koju mogu učiniti je ono što mi je trener Ronnie Shields želi da uradi kako bi se pobijediti.”
