Nutley, NJ (Oktober 31, 2016)–Mellanvikt utmanare Antoine “Åtgärd” Douglas will be in action when he takes on Ernesto Berrospe on Thursday night, November 10th at the 26th annual Fight for Children Fight Night DC at the Washington Hilton in Washington, D.C.
Douglas from nearby Burke, Virginia, has a record of 19-1-` with 13 knockouts, and will be making his first appearance på åtta månader.

“Camp is great and I am glad to be back in the ring,” said Douglas. “It did not take long for me to get back in the swing of things. I got the rust off early in camp and I am ready to go.”
When asked what he is looking for coming off his first setback, Douglas is eager to show he is ready to be one of the top middleweight contenders in the world.
“I want to see crispness and preciseness in my punches. I am also looking to show good footwork and defense.”
Douglas is not looking to rush anything as he wants to be on top of his game when he is next called upon to fight the elite fighters.
“I want to see where I am after this fight. I have been working hard and I have been ready to fight yesterday.”

One bad night will not define his career and I believe we have not yet seen the best from him. Middleweight contender Antoine Douglas signs managerial deal with Henry Rivalta

Miami, Florida (Oktober 7, 2016) Henry Rivalta is pleased to announce the signing of middleweight contender Antoine “Åtgärd” Douglas to a managerial contract.
Douglas of Washington, D.C. har ett register över 19-1-1 med 13 knockouts.

“I am glad to sign with Henry,” stated Douglas. “He has the experience at the highest level, and me and my team can focus on what everybody’s role will be.”
Rivalta continued to glow about his new acquisition.
“I love his passion and style. When you see the special relationship he has with his mother, it tells me a lot about him. He has the tools to be world champion, and his promoter, GH3 Promotions has done a great job and he sticks by his fighters. The undefeated Philadelphia native put on a clinic, breaking down his opponent from the opening bell until referee Gary Rosato stepped in to protect a defenseless Matano (16-2, 5 Kos) vid 2:24 of the seventh. Williams (23-0-1, 14 Kos) utilized a steady diet of combos, jabs and body shots in the middle rounds to weaken Matano and set up the big shots to close the show in the seventh. “He was pretty fast with his jab, but I felt like I was just getting into the fight,” Matano said. “I felt the punch, but I felt like I could have kept going. I have a warrior heart and I never want to quit.
“I’m going to go back to Italy and take a little rest, then I’ll be right back in the gym. It was a wonderful experience coming here to America. I got to fight a top-echelon fighter and I feel like I belong.”

The 35-year-old “mini-Mike Tyson” plowed forward from the opening bell until the TKO at 0:33 av 10th. The 6-foot Douglas had no answer for his 5-foot-4 opponent, a Brooklyn-based native of Georgia who is looking to become the first world champion from the former Soviet nation.
Khurtsidze (32-2-2, 21 Kos) hurt Douglas (19-1-1, 13 Kos) with a big left in the opening seconds of the third round, sending the 23-year-old face forward through the ropes. Somehow, Douglas recovered from the first knockdown of his career and fought himself back into the fight. Khurtsidze opened the seventh with a monstrous one-punch left to floor Douglas, who again somehow survived the round on failing legs as Khurtsidze threw over 100 totala stansar. Khurtsidze, who showed unbelievable stamina to push the pressure throughout, started the 10th with a relentless attack, forcing referee Benjy Esteves to stop the fight at 0:33 of the with Douglas defenseless against the ropes.
“I knew he was going to get tired,” said Khurtsidze, who took the fight on less than three weeks notice. “I felt like I was going to catch him. Han är en bra fighter, but he’s not strong.

After Harrison dropped Guerrero with the left, the Dominican Republic native beat the count but had no legs and went back to the canvas after four more consecutive shots from Harrison, forcing referee Gary Rosato to stop the bout at 1:56 of the sixth.

“It just happens. Sometimes you have a bad day. Today was as bad as I could ever imagine.
“We’ll go back to the drawing board. I didn’t do what I was supposed to do. We trained so hard. He wasn’t as fast or strong as we thought he’d be. Today was a bad day for me to have a bad day.”

From a single parent household in West Philadelphia, life has always been tough for Julian Williams. At a young age, he was constantly getting into fights with his brothers and at school, until he set foot in the gym at age 12 and unveiled his love for boxing. Williams has set his goals high and is determined to set records and break barriers while giving his all on each on of his fights.

 

“Each fight, I just want to be better than the last fight and I’m on the cusp of being a contender and getting the title shot. When I win the title, I want to break the title defense record which is held by Terry Norris. I want to go down as the best junior middleweight to ever lace up a pair of gloves.”

“I want to thank Matano and his team for coming all the way over here. We’ve had a difficult time getting opponents for different reasons, but I’m excited to headline this stacked card.
“When I win this fight I’ll be able to accomplish my dream of being a world champion. It’s one step closer.
“I’m going to attack the head and body as much as I can. I’ve got enough film on him to see what he’s got. He’s pretty solid. He got better each time out. But those guys in Italy don’t have the skills that I have. I think he’s going to bring it for as long as he can handle it.
“He’s an awkward fighter. He’s definitely a boxer and he can be a little skittish in the ring. I know I’ve fought the better competition and I’ve trained my hardest for this.
“I’m ready to make a statement. I’m not worried about a knockout. However the win comes, it’s great. I’m just looking to win and beat him down.
“I’m expecting a good Philadelphia crowd to be out here supporting me. Ninety percent of my career I’ve been on the West Coast and other places. But now fighting in front of my hometown fans, there’s nothing better. It’s perfect.”
MARCELLO MATANO
“I feel very good. I’ve been here since Friday so I have gotten used to the time zone difference and I’m ready to fight. My American experience is just starting and I’m looking forward to it.
“It’s been a hard two months of training for this fight. This is by far the most important fight of my career so I’ve trained even harder than I usually do.

Nutley, NJ (Mars 3, 2016) – Detta lördagkväll vid Sands Bethlehem Events Center, obesegrad mellanvikt Antoine Douglas (19-0-1, 13 KO: s) will face the toughest test of his career when he takes on rugged Avtandil Khurtsidze in the co-feature bout of a SHOWTIME BOXING: SPECIAL EDITION®.
This fight is the continuing process of Douglas’ promoter GH3 Promotions, which has groomed the Washington, D.C. native from his first professional bout.
Douglas set the model for what GH3 Promotions is all about and that is grass roots developing.
“I am so proud of Antoine and the job he has done,”said GH3 Promotions CEO Vito Mielnicki. “When I started this company, I wanted to sign very good fighters with solid amateur backgrounds. Antoine was the someone I coveted and I saw this vision for him and now the fight on Saturday is the perfect next step for him. Lopez, stayed undefeated by winning a comfortable unanimous decision over previously Mario Munoz on February 19th in Atlantic City that headlined a ShoBox: The New Generation card..
Odom and Ellis fought to a spirited draw in a Super Middleweight bout. On another televised bout, Foster was dominant in stopping Lavisas Williams. On the non-televised card, Hector Frometa went to 2-0 med ett enhälligt beslut seger.

“Jag är extremt fokuserad. Det står mycket på spel denna lördag. Jag är äntligen i den position jag ville vara i sedan jag blev proffs.
“Jag har kommit till en slutsats att om människor inte behöver slåss med Julian Williams kommer de inte att göra det. Det har dock inte varit så frustrerande eftersom jag alltid har en kamp om böckerna. Jag kan inte oroa mig för de människor som inte kommer att slåss mot mig. Jag måste bara vara redo och sätta mig själv på den obligatoriska platsen. Det är vad jag ska göra på lördag natt.
“Det är aldrig någon utmaning att slåss hemma. Jag vet exakt vad jag måste göra. Jag skär ingen hörn i lägret. Den största utmaningen är att vänta eftersom jag är så angelägen om att komma in där och vinna, särskilt framför min hemmapublik.

NEW YORK (Februari. 23, 2016) - Obesegrad mellanviktareAntoine Douglas kommer att möta hårt slå Avtandil Khurtsidze i medfunktionen av SHOWTIME BOXNING: SÄRSKILD UTGÅVA® på lördag, Mars 5, leva på Showtime® (10 p.m. OCH/PT) från Sands Bethlehem Events Center i Bethlehem, Pa.

 

Khurtsidze (30-2-2, 20 Kos) kliver in för att möta GH3 Promotions Douglas (19-0-1, 13 Kos) i en 10-runda mellanvikt om WBO International-titeln efter Sam Soliman drog sig ur striden förra veckan med en knäskada.

 

Khurtsidze, av Brooklyn, N.Y.. genom Kutaisi, Georgien, har vunnit åtta raka - inklusive sex genom knockout - sedan han släppte ett kontroversiellt beslut till då obesegrad Hassan N'Dam i en kamp om den lediga tillfälliga WBA World Middleweight-titeln i Paris i 2010.

 

Khurtsidze var planerad att möta N’Dam i en omspel sist November 21 i Paris, men evenemanget avbröts efter det tragiska November 13 terrorattacker i Frankrike. Omkampen med den tidigare världsmästaren skulle ifrågasättas för IBF nr. 2 plats på 160 pounds.

 

En tryckfighter, Khurtsidze var också tänkt att slåss förra veckan på ett DiBella Entertainment Broadway Boxing-evenemang och har tränat sedan kampen med N’Dam avbröts. 36-åringen, som också har kämpat för supermedvikt, kommer efter en knockout-seger över Melvin Betancourt i augusti förra året.

I co-funktionen, fast-rising middleweight contender Antoine Douglas kommer att ta på förre världsmästaren Sam Soliman i en 10-runda mellanvikt bout. One of the most promising and highly regarded young stars in boxing, Williams (21-0-1, 1 ND, 13 Kos) will headline for the first time on SHOWTIME. He’s stepping up after honing his skills and steadily ascending the ranks after five fights on SHO EXTREME. The 25-year-old shut out longtime contender Joey Hernandez last April, followed that with a sixth-round stoppage of Arman Ovsepyan in June and closed the year by stopping Orlando Lora in the first round in September. The Philadelphian has also picked up victories over Joachim Alcine, Eliezer Gonzalez and Freddy Hernandez in his young career and looks to earn his first title shot with a win on Mars 5.
Matano (16-1, 5 Kos) is a former Italian super welterweight titlist. He’s registered four consecutive wins since the only loss of his career, including victories in three scheduled 12-round fights. The 29-year-old is coming off a 12-round unanimous decision over fellow-Italian Nick Klappert in October 2015. Like Williams, he fought three bouts in 2015, although he logged 31 total rounds compared to just 17 for Williams.
Douglas (19-0-1, 13 Kos) has been impressive in five consecutive victories since he boxed to a draw when he was just 21 years old with former world title challenger Michel Soro in July 2014. The former top amateur has won his last three fights by knockout, including a sixth-round KO of previously undefeated Thomas LaManna and a fourth-round TKO of veteran Les Sherrington last November in his fifth appearance on ShoBox: Den nya generationen. On the prospect developmental series, the 23-year-old Douglas has graduated from unproven prospect to undefeated contender and is now ranked No. 4 in the WBO and No. 6 i WBA. Douglas is promoted by GH3 promotions.
Soliman (44-13, 1 NC, 18 Kos), Melbourne, Australien, is vastly more experienced than Douglas, efter att ha tävlat i fyra världsmästerskapsslag. The 42-year-old held the IBF Middleweight World title before suffering a debilitating knee injury and losing via decision to Jermain Taylor in his first title defense in October 2014. He has picked up knockout victories over Antwone Smith, Tyrone Brunson, Bronco McKart och Pablo Munguia under de senaste två åren.
A former world title challenger, Warrior (28-3, 20 Kos) returned to his winning ways in 2015 with victories over Abraham Han and Daniel Souza Santos. The 29-year-old lives and trains out of Los Angeles but grew up in Maryland after being born in the Dominican Republic. The veteran owns victories over Ishe Smith, Derrick Findley and Gabriel Rosado in a pro career that dates back to 2007.
