Born in Aguada, Puerto Rico and now residing in Lake Mary, Florida, the 26-year-old Cruz was a member of the Puerto Rico National Team as an amateur. He turned pro in 2012 and picked up five victories in 2015 as he ended fights with Virgil Green, Daniel Rodriguez, Eli Addison, Juan Rodriguez, Travis Hartman and Anthony Abbruzzese inside the distance. Most recently, Cruz earned a decision victory over previously unbeaten Samuel Figueroa in their May 2016 showdown.
A highly-regarded amateur fighter out of Chicago, Martin was a 2012 Olympic alternate in addition to earning multiple National Golden Gloves titles and boasting a 340-10 record. The 27-year-old turned pro in April 2013 and stopped his first five opponents inside of the distance. Martin picked up two victories in 2016 beating experienced opponents Juan Carlos Abreu and Rosemberg Gomez as he prepares for January 13 bout.
The two-time Dominican Olympian Payano will start his path towards another world title after first becoming a champion via a technical decision over Anselmo Moreno in September 2014. The accomplished amateur won gold at the 2006 Central American and Caribbean games with victories over McJoe Arroyo and Yoandris Salinas. The 32-year-old defeated Jundy Maraon, Jose Silveria and Luis Maldonado on the way to his title shot and most recently comes off a pair of exciting fights with Rau’shee Warren that saw him defense his title in August 2015 and lose in June 2016.
Representing Distrito Federal, Mexico, Carranza has fought professionally since 2010 and won 10 of his first 11 fights. The 30-year-old enters this fight with his last victory coming over Willy Velazquez before his most recent challenge of Alejandro Hernandez for a Mexican title. Carranza will be making his U.S. debut when he enters the ring on Lub ib hlis ntuj 13.

Fighting in the U.S. for the fourth straight time, the 27-year-old Sulecki most recently stopped Derrick Findley in the seventh round in January. Before coming to the U.S., Sulecki picked up impressive victories over previously unbeaten Robert Swierzbinski, former world title challenger Grzegorz Proksa and Lukasz Wawrzyczek. BETHLEHEM, PAJ. (Lub ob hlis ntuj 10, 2016) – Undefeated 2012 U.S. Olympian Jamel Herring (15-0, 8 KOs) scored a unanimous decision (100-88, 100-88, 99-89) over Colombia’s Luis Eduardo Flores (21-3, 17 KOs) in a 10-round lightweight bout in the main event of Tuesday’s Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) TOE-TO-TOE TUESDAYS rau FS1 thiab BOXEO DE CAMPEONES rau FOX Deportes fight card at Sands Event Center in Bethlehem, PAJ.
Herring, who represented the United States at the 2012 Olympic games after winning the U.S. National Amateur title the same year, commanded the action throughout.
“I knew if I boxed smart it would show, but I didn’t think it would be that wide a margin,” said Herring. “He’s a very experienced fighter.”
Herring added, “I was trying to get rid of him early because he’s a dangerous guy. If you let a guy like that sit around too long there’s always the risk that you might get clipped with something and regret it.”
Herring, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, hopes the win Hnub night will launch him into world title contention in 2016.
Making his U.S. debut, the Magangue, Colombia native Flores put on a valiant effort, recovering from a flurry in the second round that would have sent most fighters packing.
In the fifth round, the 28-year-old Flores was ruled to have been knocked down twice, but disputes those calls by the ref. “Both times that the officials called it a knockdown and started counting were just slips. I didn’t actually get knocked down either time,” said Flores.
Flores added, “I know that (Herring) had the advantage hmo no, and he outperformed me. But I’ll keep trying wherever my next opportunity comes.”
“I think getting a win like this over a fighter with Flores’ experience will help me gain a lot more respect. People seeing me win on my first PBC card on national TV on FS1 and FOX Deportes just helps raise my profile and I look forward to being back,” said Herring.
The opening televised bout featured unbeaten prospect Alex Martin (12-0, 5 KOs) defeating Rossemberth Gomez (17-5-1, 13 KOs) by unanimous decision (80-72, 79-73, 79-73) in an eight-round welterweight contest.
Martin, ib 2012 National Golden Gloves Champion, controlled much of the fight from the outside using his superior footwork to evade Gomez.
The Harvey, IL native Martin said, “I could see his punches coming from a mile away, but I should have followed up a little more than I did hmo no and let my hands go a bit more too.”
An owner of 340 amateur wins, Martin turned pro in 2013 and is yet to lose. That experience helped Martin keep his composure when Gomez taunted him repeatedly in the second round.
“We wanted to make Martin mad and get him to punch himself out if we could,” said the 29-year-old Gomez.
Martin responded to the talk of baiting saying, “I just stuck to my fundamentals, kept pumping my jab and setting him up for the next shot.
“I knew I hurt him with the uppercut. He walked right into it. And then when I threw the hook he couldn’t do anything,” said Martin.
Following the bout Gomez said, “I plan to retire after hmo no. I care too much and fight too hard to be just another opponent.”
The second televised fight saw Raynell Williams (11-0, 5 KOs) win a unanimous decision (79-73, 79-73, 78-74) over Gabriel Tolmajyan (14-3-2, 3 KOs) in eight rounds of lightweight action.
A member of the 2008 U.S. Olympic team, Cleveland’s Williams was able to establish himself early and get in a rhythm.
“The only time he was able to catch me with anything was when I got a little lazy,” said Williams.
Williams caught Tolmajyan with a big right hand in the fourth round, seemingly stunning Tolmajyan momentarily, but he kept his composure and didn’t allow himself to become overzealous.
“I was focused on boxing him and not so much worried about the knockout,” added Williams. “I knew I was winning the rounds.”
In the final frame, Tolmajyan, fighting out of Glendale, CA, caught Williams with a shot that nearly ended things.
Williams recalled, “It was an overhand left that he hit me with. And then he came after me again, but the ref and I made contact, so then the ref pushed me away because he didn’t want me to try holding on to him. But once I got my feet under me I was fine.”
However, Tolmajyan wasn’t impressed with Williams saying, “He wasn’t as good as we were expecting and I had him hurt with my left.
“I thought that I was winning the fight to be honest. I didn’t think I was going to lose the decision,” added Tolmajyan.
Williams concluded, “I hope to learn from my mistakes hmo no. I got caught with a good punch in the last few seconds hmo no, so I just need to work on consistency and fighting until the final bell.”

An owner of 340 amateur wins, he made it to the United States finals where he lost to eventual Olympian, ❏ Jr ❏ Spence Errol. Martin turned pro in 2013 and is yet to lose. The 26-year-old picked up four victories in 2015 and will begin 2016 against the 29-year-old Nicaraguan Gomez who will be making his U.S. debut.

“Training is good. I really do not know much about Gomez, but that doesn’t matter much at all because I just go in there and like to fight.”
Martin is ready to showcase his skills for the first time in front of a nationally televised audience and he knows this is just the beginning of positioning himself into bigger fights.
“It is a big step for me. This will show me and the fans how good I am and where I can go in my career.”
Without looking too far down the line, Martin would love a chance at his old amateur rival, Spence. Martin knows that he needs to continue winning and looking good to get that opportunity within in the next year.
“Spence is definitely on my radar. I can see us fighting by the end of 2016 or early 2017. I feel that I will be ready for that fight. He is just one of a few guys that I want to fight on my way to the top. I am just hoping that everyone tunes in on February 9th and the fans will remember my national television debut.”

Bethlehem, PAJ (Rau hli ntuj 25 2015)–Saturday night at the Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem, Christian Molina will look to stay undefeated when he takes on veteran Justin Johnson in a 6-round Jr. Welterweight bout that will be part of a 10 bout card.

Molina has established himself as one of the most popular fighters in the Lehigh Valley due to his exciting fighting style and engaging personality outside the ring.

Molina has been working very hard as he prepares for a step up bout against Johnson, who despite his record of 6-8, is 4-4-2 against the 10 undefeated fighters that he has been in the ring with.

“Training has been good. Right now I am just looking to make the weight and be ready for Saturday,” Txawm hais tias tus 27 year-old Molina.

Molina knows that he has to be at his best as Johnson not only has the experience but also has some physical advantages.

“I know he is 2 los sis 3 inches taller then I am. We have some good game plans and do what we have to do to win. I know he is a good fighter.”

As mentioned previously, Molina has built a great fan base in the area and they will be out to cheer their man on this Saturday.

“A lot of people come to support me. I really love that and it helps me in the ring. I feel that after a couple more wins, I can become a very big draw as I know that Puerto Rican fight fans get behind good fighters. This is my first six round bout and I know the big fights are yet to come.”

It says even more about how Molina has caught on to the fans as he came here from Puerto Rico just seven years ago.

“I came from San Sebastian, Puerto Rico in 2008 and went to Mendez Liciago High School and graduated from there in 2006. I came here by myself and wanted a future in America. I work in a warehouse to support my boxing. I know nothing is easy, I will continue to work hard and be the best fighter out there and hopefully one day, I can go back to Puerto Rico and fight at home.”
