Two-time world champion Steve “USS” Cunningham signs with Al Haymon

Piladelpya (Abril 21, 2015)–Former two-time world cruiserweight champion and current Heavyweight contender, Steve “USS” Cunningham has signed with adviser Al Haymon.
Cunningham of Philadelphia is excited about the prospects for his future.
“I’m looking forward to working with Al, he’s a genius at what he does. I’ve been watching him for several years and seeing all that he accomplishes for his fighters but have always been on the outside looking in due to contractual obligations. It finally lined up to where we can work together and it’s going to great. I believe my best fights have yet to be seen,”Said Cunningham
Cunningham has a record of 28-7 may 13 knockouts. He won the IBF Cruiserweight championship when he traveled to Poland and defeated Krzysztof Wlodarczyk on May 26, 2007. He defended the title by stopping Marco Huck via 12th round stoppage in Bielfield, Germany on December 29, 2007. Cunningham became a two-time champion on June 5, 2010 when he stopped Troy Ross in five rounds.
Cunningham is coming off a controversial split decision defeat to Vyacheslav Glazkov on Marso 14 sa Montreal.
Steve and his wife/manager Livvy will be honored ito Biyernes night at the 90th annual BWAA Awards dinner as they will receive the Bill Crawford Courage Award for their perseverance while their 9-year old daughter Kennedy went through a life saving heart transplant last December.

Boxing’s most avoided world champion Guillermo Rigondeaux heading to UK next month To publically confront Scott Quigg

A month ago in an unusual move, Rigondeaux’ tagapamahala Gary Hyde formally petitioned the WBA to enforce a mandatory title fight between his WBA Super champion and Quigg. Hyde is awaiting the WBA’s decision. Rigondeaux is also the World Boxing Organization (WBO) at Ang Ring super bantamweight champion magazine.

 

A reigning world champion hasn’t been avoided by other world champions and top contenders like Rigondeux has for the past two years since, marahil, junior middleweight Sergio Martinez, or possibly all the way back to middleweight Mike McCallum.

 

The top three super bantamweights in the world outside of Rigondeaux – International Boxing Federation (IBF) at World Boxing Council (WBC) champions, Carl Frampton at Leo Santa Cruz, buong galang, plus Quigg – have avoided the Cuban great like the plaque. “QUIGG, Santa Cruz and Frampton have showed no desire to challenge Rigondeaux,” Sinabi ni Hyde. “These three fighters are trying to fool the public into believing that fight Walang mga. 1 guy in the world is not important. Next month, Hyde reports, Rigondeaux will travel to the United Kingdom in a bold attempt to embarrass Quigg into fighting him. “I don’t like traveling overseas unless I have a fight lined up,” Rigondeaux explained, “but I will travel to England in May to publicly call out Scott Quigg. If he turns down the chance to fight our WBA mandatory, he will be remembered for that instead of being known as a great fighter. While I’m in the UK, I will also go to Belfast to checkout Carl Frampton to ask if he wants to prove himself against the best in his division.”

 

Understanding that the top super bantamweight action is currently in Europe, noting a record purse ($2.2 million USD) offered for a Frampton vs. Quigg fight, Rigondeaux is considering a major change in the not too distant future, moving his base from Miami to the UK, if that’s what it takes for him to get in on the action.

ESPN Reaches Multi-Year Agreement to Televise Premier Boxing Champions Series

PBC sa ESPN to Air 12 Two-hour Live Shows Annually on ESPN and ABC
