“Ce combat signifie tout pour moi. I still have a chip on my shoulder. I want to be the last man standing. I want to beat the top fighters in my division. Lamont is the one standing in front of me, so it’s fight time.
“I think it’s going to turn into a war. A lot of people have thought this would be an easy fight for me. But if you follow Lamont Peterson, you know this will be tough. He’s always in great shape and has a lot of skills. IT might be a dog fight and that’s what I wanted. He’s the guy who wanted to fight and I said of course. It’s going to be a rugged fight. Later on in the fights, he always gets rough and stands toe-to-toe.
“There might not be a lot of talking and bad blood between us, but you know that the two of us always give a great fight for the fans.
“I had to wait for my title defense and then I had a lot of guys not answer the call for this fight. I have a belt and I still have to call these other guys out. Lamont Peterson answered the call like a real fighter.
“In a perfect world I’d be unifying with Keith Thurman this year. I’m going to fight three times this year though. You don’t get time back. I’m ready to strike now.

“When I got into boxing, I had goals. First I wanted to be a National Champion, then a world champion as a professional, but the ultimate goal is to be in the Hall of Fame. With that being my goal, I wouldn’t put myself in that conversation yet. With wins over a guy like Errol Spence and the other top welterweights, I think I’m right there in it. That’s my goal and I’ll give it my all to get there.
“If you left it to me I’d fight every month. That’s how much I love the sport. I know a victory would help me get in the ring even more often. Sometimes if you lose at the top level, other top guys don’t want to take a chance against you. I can fix all of that this weekend
“I don’t worry about any negativity. My resume is written in the history books. All I can do is respect the opinion of others and work hard to get this win.
“I’m excited and looking forward to the skill level that’s going to be displayed this weekend. It’s going to be a rough fight for sure. But I look forward to the technique and skill level. Defense, offense and transitioning between the two. That’s the part of boxing that I love.
“Errol even taking the Kell Brook fight was impressive to me. Most guys in his position take their time leading up to the first title shot, but he ended up fighting someone in his prime in his country. To will himself to that win was very impressive.
“When you get to the big stages and those big fights, you have to win more than you lose. I think if I can win some big fights these next few years my career will be in a good place.”

“I have no concerns fighting a southpaw. I made my last fight hard, but this time I’m going to use my reach, my feet and my speed to dominate.
“I’m looking for a great performance. This is going to be the best Robert Easter the fans have ever seen. We prepared to dominate this fight.
“Javier Fortuna is an accomplished fighter but I don’t know too much about him. I know what I came to do. I’m a world champion and everyone knows what I bring to the fight game. I won’t leave without my strap.
“I’m ready to fight the best in this sport. I want to become the man at this weight and I know I have to beat the other champions to do that.
“Boxing is all about showing you’re the best and fighting the best. I just want to fight these other champions in my weight class. I’m looking to stay healthy in 2018 and remain on top.”
JAVIER FORTUNA
“I have no excuses on Janvier 20. I hope he doesn’t either. I will be taking that title to the Dominican Republic for my fans. I’ve been dreaming about it and I will take it.
“I have the style and the skills to beat Robert Easter. I know how to make sure his height does not affect me at all. Everyone will see it on fight night.

“I started training Errol about nine years ago but I never really knew just how special he was until about a year or so into our training. “Lamont has always been a coach’s dream. He’s the type of athlete that you would love to coach. He does everything a coach asks of him. He will train until he passes out. All he wants is to work hard and compete.”

Additional action inside of the arena will see the brother of Lamont Peterson, une fois battus Anthony Peterson (37-1, 24 KOs), parement Luis Florez (23-7, 19 KOs) in a 10-round super lightweight matchup plus once-beaten welterweight Ivan Golub (13-1, 11 KOs) in an eight-round fight against Colombia’s Fidel Monterrosa (38-14-1, 30 KOs).
Undercard fights continue with undefeated 2016 Haïtienne olympique Richardson Hitchins(3-0, 1 KO) entering the ring for a four-round welterweight fight against Preston Wilson(4-2-1, 3 KOs), Philadelphie Dylan Prix (4-0, 4 KOs) competing in a four-round super flyweight bout against Nestor Ramos (7-7, 3 KOs) and welterweight prospect Keyshawn Williams (1-0, 1 KO) prenant Denis Okoth (1-0, 1 KO) in a four-round matchup.
Rounding out the night is a four-round showdown between unbeaten Desmond Jarmon and Dallas-native Charles Clark plus New Jersey’s Matthew Gonzalez in a six round middleweight fight against Alexander Serna.
A highly decorated amateur who represented his native Ukraine in the 2008 Jeux olympiques, Derevyanchenko now lives and trains in Brooklyn and most recently earned the top spot in the IBF rankings with an impressive 12e round stoppage over Tureano Johnson. The 32-year-old also defeated previously unbeaten Kemahl Russell in 2017 après son 2016 saw him earn a TKO victory over Mike Guy in March before stopping former champion Sam Soliman in the second round of a world title eliminator in July. The unbeaten fighter defeated a slew of experienced contenders in 2015 with wins over Elvin Ayala, Camp de terrain, Vladine Biosse and a third-round stoppage of Jessie Nicklow.
Derevyanchenko and Golub make it a pair of Ukrainian sluggers fighting out of Brooklyn who will compete on the undercard looking to put on impressive performances in their adopted hometown.

Lamont Peterson
“Je me sens bien. Je suis déjà près de poids. Je suis heureux et manger jusqu'à cinq fois par jour. Je me sens fort et je suis prêt pour ce combat.
“Je dois considérer cela comme vraiment juste un autre grand combat. Lorsque vous êtes en haut, vous essayez de ne pas faire trop de chaque combat. Nous savons ce qui est en jeu. Je sais que quand je garde simple, c'est quand je joue mieux.
“En ce moment, mon corps se sent mieux que jamais. Je suis à l'aise avec tout ce qui est passé dans le camp et je pense que vous pouvez le voir dans mon corps.
“Je me suis toujours entraîné dur depuis le premier jour je suis venu ici comme un enfant. Cela a été instillée en moi depuis un jeune âge et il m'a porté tout au long de ma carrière.
“Tout ce que je fais est pour D.C.. J'essaie d'obtenir autant de reconnaissance pour ce domaine, la meilleure façon que je peux. C'est ce que nous recherchons tous dans cette salle de gym. C'est la plus grande qui a été sur le calendrier pendant un certain temps et je suis prêt à ramener à la maison.
“Il devient plus facile et plus facile les plus de combats de championnat, je suis en. J'étais en forme pour tous, mais je certainement mettre plus de pression sur moi-même quand j'étais jeune. Je me suis amélioré à chaque fois et maintenant je me sens comme si je suis vraiment à l'endroit parfait dans ma carrière.”
ANTHONY PETERSON
“Je dois faire une déclaration. Je ne me sens jamais à l'aise avec une décision. Je pense que c'est une bonne chose parce que je dois être spécial sous les lumières.
“Tout le monde sait que j'aime aller au corps. Tu sais que je vais le faire travailler afin que vous puissiez regarder pour moi de briser mon adversaire sur le Janvier 20.
“J'ai été sparring avec une variété de combattants expérimentés au cours de la dernière année et ils me ont aidé même si je ne l'ai pas eu un combat. rouille anneau est mental. Il est à vous de mettre le travail.
“Je n'ai pas eu les combats que je veux, mais je vais toujours coller à mon jeu et le bâton à mon métier. Je sais que si je persévère, les choses vont pour moi.
“Je sais que j'aime ce sport. Je sais que finalement je serai un champion du monde. Je crois en mon avenir et je suis impatient de grands combats.
“Il est inspirant de regarder Lamont faire sa chose et réussir. Il va battre Errol Spence, même si les gens ne croient pas. Je pense qu'il va prendre soin des affaires.”
BARRY HUNTER, Entraîneur de Peterson
“Cela a été une mouture longue dans le camp pour ces gars-là. Quand je repense à combien de temps nous avons été sur ce voyage, Je suis très fier d'eux. Ils étaient 9 et 10 quand ils sont arrivés dans la salle de gym.
“Nous n'avons pas le monstre de poids pour faire face aux combats à mi-moyens. Lamont est un excellent endroit mentalement et physiquement. Je suis impatient à un combat explosif.
“Quand vous regardez la lutte Spence-Brook, tôt Brook a eu beaucoup de succès. À l'étirement Errol a imposé sa volonté et se brisa Brook vers le bas. Je sais bien Errol et je l'ai coaché. Il a une forte volonté. Il n'est pas grande dans une région, mais il est bon dans beaucoup de domaines. Ceci est un autre genre de gars qu'il fait face. Coeur est quelque chose Lamont est loin d'être à court de. Je pense que cela pourrait commencer tactique, puis se transformer en une guerre.
“Mon travail est d'aller là-bas avec une partie d'un plan, mais il est toujours sur les ajustements pour nous. Quelle que soit Errol apporte à la table, nous allons le découvrir et de mettre tout en mouvement.
“Cette dernière semaine, beaucoup de plan de jeu et le travail de préparation mentale. Beaucoup de combattants ne forment pas l'esprit. Vous devez former l'esprit encore plus que le corps. Nous devons être prêts pour tous les scénarios.
“Je pense que si Anthony va là-bas et fait son travail il y a quelques titres vacants à 140 livres et c'est une piste pour nous. Nous voulons une sangle autour de sa taille et nous ferons face tous pour l'obtenir.
“Lamont, avec Anthony, Gary Russell Jr., Jarrett Hurd et Gervonta Davis, ont été maintenant la boxe dans ce domaine depuis longtemps. Il serait énorme de porter cette maison de titre. Il y a beaucoup de jeunes Lamont Petersons dans ce domaine qui veulent atteindre ce niveau. Ce serait un phare de lumière qui brille vers le bas et montrant ces gens le chemin.”

“Tout le monde qui a vu me battre avant sait qu'il ne sera pas un combat ennuyeux. Même si elle est à sens unique, il va toujours être bourré d'action. Janvier 20 va être un combat formidable et je vais mettre une grande performance. Je prévois de dominer.
“Défendre mon titre à Brooklyn sera spécial. J'ai de la famille à New York aussi, alors cela signifie beaucoup que je serai en mesure de défendre au Barclays Center. New York est une ville de boxe afin qu'ils apprécient vraiment les champions et savent le sport.
“Je suis heureux de se battre un gars comme Lamont Peterson. Je ne me bats pas un combattant régulier sans nom. Il va faire ressortir le meilleur de moi parce qu'il est un vrai combattant. Il fait encore mieux toute l'expérience.
“La première place dans le sport est vraiment à gagner maintenant et je viens pour elle. Je ne se soucie pas que je dois faire face ou lorsque, Je vais être le dernier homme debout. Voilà pourquoi nous entrons dans ce sport. Je suis très confiant en moi-même.
“Lamont et moi ont un grand cœur et je pense que tout le monde sera en mesure de voir que dans l'anneau. Nous sommes tous les deux combattants intelligents afin qu'il pourrait y avoir un certain sentiment avant d'y aller nous. Mais je pense que ce soit un combat aérien.
“Cette communauté à Dallas est très important pour moi. Quand j'étais
de plus en plus ici il n'y avait pas les boxeurs professionnels d'ici que je pouvais regarder comme un modèle. Une fois que vous avez les ressources pour se donner, il est important de le faire. J'aime être dans la salle de gym et d'aider les gars vraiment jeunes et en leur donnant quelque chose à aspirer.”

“Errol semble vraiment bon dans la formation. Il a une grande attention. Il est très orienté et détail tapa d'être la meilleure version de lui-même. La détermination de son visage me permet de savoir qu'il veut remuera ciel et terre et assurez-vous que tout va son chemin la nuit de combat. Nous gagnons le combat dans la salle de gym pas dans le ring.
“Errol doit garder cette mentalité d'entrer dans ce combat et au-delà, et il sait que. Gagner un titre est pas ce qu'il veut. Il veut être champion poids welter incontesté. “Mes objectifs pour 2018 sont de capturer plus de titres et pour obtenir des épisodes d'unification. “Je préfère mes adversaires pour être plus grand. Il joue dans ce que je suis capable de faire. Je ne l'ai jamais eu un problème avec plus grands adversaires. Cotto Abner (5-10) est l'un des grands gaillards que je me suis battu. Je me suis battu à Chicago et mis sur une grande performance. (Fortuna a marqué un 5e tour KO contre Cotto)
“Mon objectif pour 2018 est de lutter contre tous les meilleurs combattants d'élite dans ma classe de poids, et je suis en train de devenir mentionné comme l'un des meilleurs dans le sport. “I know Marcus Browne is probably taking me lightly and thinks he will simply go through me. LONG ISLAND, New York (Juillet 16, 2017) – Once-beaten Jamal James (21-1, 9 KOs) scored a unanimous decision victory over former title challenger Jo Jo Dan (36-5, 19 KOs) enPremier Champions de boxe sur FS1 et FOX Sports actionSamedi night from thenewly-renovated NYCB LIVE, accueil du Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
Permanent 6'2″, James was intent on using his length to move around Dan and deliver jabs and power punches off of it it. He had success snapping the head back of Dan throughout the early rounds and built up a lead on the scorecards.
“My range was working perfectly,” a déclaré James. “I knew he was going to be tough and he was a little tougher than I thought.”
Dan got himself back into the fight after focusing on the body throughout the early rounds and was able to break through James’ guard to land effectively. The southpaw temporarily rocked James late in the sixth round and was able to pick up some momentum for the following rounds.
“I was catching him with nice clean shots, but he kept coming,” a déclaré James. “I knew he was going to keep coming forward. He started moving his head and made me miss a couple times. I was trying to avoid a big shot but he did get me with some body shots.”
Cependant, James was able to stick to his game plan and had success over the final couple of rounds while fighting Dan in the trenches. Après 10 rounds of welterweight action, the judges scored the bout 99-91-, 98-92 et 97-93 all for James.
Fighting on the undercard of his older brother Omar, Brandon Figueroa (13-0, 8 KOs) used high volume punching to dominate Fatiou Fassinou (28-7-3, 15 KOs) on his way to a unanimous decision victory in their junior featherweight contest.
“I knew that he was a flashy fighter that was going to have a lot of speed and movement,” a déclaré Figueroa. “I tried to attack the body. He was a really tough opponent. He took all my best body shots.”
Figueroa had no problem trying to stand and trade with Fassinou as his superior speed and length allowed him to consistently land first. Fassinou’s awkward style included switching stances almost nonstop throughout the bout, and made it tough for Figueroa to sit down and deliver knockout blows.
“This was my first fight back in a while and I was happy to get the rust off,” a déclaré James. “Now I’m going to get back to work. I want to get at least one or two more fights this year and then really explode next year and set myself up to be a top contender.”
As the fight went on, Fassinou slowed down enough to where Figueroa was able to trap him in the corner and deliver powerful blows throughout the last two rounds. Fassinou ended the night on his feet but all three judges gave the bout to Figueroa by scores of 79-73 et 78-74 deux fois.
“I wanted to break him down,” a déclaré Figueroa. “He took my punches well. I think he won a round or two. I needed to catch my breath and I was hoping to stop him late. D'une manière ou d'une autre, I got the win and I’m happy.”

LONG ISLAND, New York (Juillet 15, 2017) – Invaincu Omar Figueroa (27-0-1, 19 KOs) returned to the ring in emphatic fashion with a third-round stoppage of former champion Robert Guerrero (33-6-1, 18 KOs) dans l'événement principal de Premier Champions de boxe sur FOX etFOX Sports Saturday night from the newly-renovated NYCB LIVE, accueil du Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. The show was the first major boxing event to take place at the Coliseum in 31 ans.
The former world champion Figueroa returned to the ring after a 19-month layoff and hardly missed a beat, as he sent Guerrero to the canvas five times over the three rounds and became the first fighter to ever stop Guerrero.
“We knew that it was going to be tough to accomplish but I had obviously trained to get the knockout,” said Figueroa.” With my hands finally being healthy, we knew that it was actually possible.
After winning the first round on all three judges’ tableaux de bord, Guerrero continued to fight Figueroa from the inside and attempted to punish him with power shots. Cependant, it was Figueroa who landed the first decisive blow of the fight, a scorching left uppercut that sent Guerrero immediately to the floor.
“I haven’t fought this way in a long time because I didn’t have the power in my hands,” a déclaré Figueroa. “I’ll always find a way to come out on top though.”
Figueroa continued to attack, putting Guerrero down for a second time with a body shot and once more with a glancing shot right before the end of the round. Guerrero looked to blitz Figueroa to start the third round and immediately had Figueroa cornered.
“After the first knockdown I knew that the instinct would kick-in for him and he’d go all out,” a déclaré Figueroa. “I thought it was going to be over after the first knockdown of the second round but the ref let it keep going.
“I’ve been working since January so I’m going to take some time off,” continued Figueroa. “Then I’m going to get back into camp to get back to 140-pounds. I want to be back in the ring by the end of the year.”
The unbeaten fighter was able to turn the tide quickly however, putting Guerrero down twice more with strong flurries before referee Ron Lipton waved off the bout 1:34 dans la ronde. Après le combat, Guerrero was taken to Nassau University Medical Center for precautionary reasons.

Despite fighting in front of a friendly crowd in his native Long Island, Monaghan struggled from the start as a blistering left hand from Browne sent him to the canvas early in the first round. Monaghan was quickly in survival mode and was aided when referee Steve Willis halted the bout after deeming that Browne had connected with an accidental low blow while looking to finish his opponent.
“”I could tell that I hurt him, but I didn’t want to rush and walk into anything,” Saïd Browne. “I just took my time and allowed everything to fall into place.”
“It was an honor for me to represent Long Island,” said Monaghan. “I knew that it was a big task tonight. Marcus is even faster than in sparring. I’ll be alright though, I’m happy that if I had to lose, it was to a guy the quality of Marcus Browne.”
Monaghan was able to recover and eventually make it through the round, but Browne put his foot on the gas pedal to begin round two. Browne was able to trap Monaghan against the ropes and delivered a crushing series of body blows and chopping shots that caused Monaghan to hunch over. The onslaught eventually forced the referee to call a halt to the bout 40 secondes dans la ronde.
“I’m honored and blessed to be a part of this event and I just want to move upwards and onward from here,” Saïd Browne. “I want a date with Adonis Stevenson next. It’s amazing to have this kind of exposure on FOX and FOX Deportes. I loved the opportunity to make new fans tonight.”
“Marcus has always been a fast starter,” said Monaghan. “He always comes out very fast. I thought I was ready for the speed, but he is very skilled. I think he’s going to go a long way.”
In front of a large contingent of his hometown fans, Adam Kownacki (16-0, 13 KOs) put on an impressive performance against his best opposition to date by scoring a fourth-round TKO of former title challenger Arthur Pin (20-3, 15 KOs) in their heavyweight showdown.
“I always knew that I had him,” ledit Kownacki. “From the first shot I hit him in the body, I knew he didn’t have enough. My pressure was too much.”
The fight began with both men looking to impose their styles as Szpilka attempted to establish his jab and evade his opponent, while Kownacki tried to trap Szpilka in a corner where he could tee-off with power punches.
Despite his left eye swelling up after two rounds, Kownacki was able to take the first bit of momentum by connecting late in round three with a series of power shots that appeared to at least shake Szpilka up.
As the fourth round began Kownacki wasted no time, landing a big punch that caused blood to start pouring out of the nose of Szpilka. While the former title challenger tried to keep his distance, the heavier Kownacki was able to land a series of power punches that put Szpilka on the canvas.
“I have a great trainer and a great team that has gotten me into great shape,” ledit Kownacki. “I have to give them all of the credit. Whatever he was doing, I was ready for.”
While Szpilka was able to get to his feet, Kownacki continued to keep the pressure on as another series of power punches, led by a strong right hand, sent Szpilka into a heap and forced referee Artur Mercante to stop the bout 1:37 dans la ronde. Kownacki landed 42 percent of his power punches in the decisive fourth round.
“It took Deontay Wilder and Bryant Jennings a lot longer to get him out of there,” ledit Kownacki. “But I still have things that I’m going to go back and fix. Once I improve those aspects of my game I think that a lot of people are going to know me.”
“He hit me once with a good shot and after that I just never recovered,” said Szpilka. “I think it was a left hook. I’m going to rest now. This was not how I wanted this to go and I’m very disappointed.”

“We know that Guerrero is a tough guy and it’s going to be a rough fight. We prepared really well to go 12-rounds and get the win.
“I love having my brother Brandon in camp and on this card with me. It gives me an opportunity to take my mind off of my fight and focus on Brandon for a bit. It really helps me cope with everything leading up to a big fight.
“Training camp was amazing. We did a lot of sparring with lefties so that my footwork is down. Other than that I was just grinding every day and trying to get better.
“I’m really happy to have the team that I have. Joel Diaz and I work really well together because we have the same mentality, but he can tell me when I need to take a step back.
“New York is one of the places that has held historic fights. Being on that same stage as great fighters from the past is amazing. It’s one of those things that makes you feel like you made it.
“I know how hard Robert Guerrero has worked to get to this point in his career. I want to prove that I can be in the big fights that Guerrero has already had. I’ve had a long time off but I can’t wait to get it Samedi nuit.
“I feel like I have everything in my arsenal to make this a successful night. I’m looking to show all of the things I’ve been working with Joel Diaz on and give the fans a great fight to remember.”
Robert Guerrero
“I’m expecting Omar to come to fight. He’s undefeated with a great record so if it’s not broken, I don’t expect him to change his style.
“You have to prepare for everything for a guy as awkward as Omar. I’m going to have to make adjustments in the ring. If I can stay focused I know I can get the victory.
“I’ve made a lot of improvements since the last time people saw me. There’s way too much talent in this division for me to just come forward and press. I’m in great shape and I’m ready to work behind my jab do everything I need to do to be successful in the ring.
“I’m blessed to be here and have this tremendous opportunity in the main event again on FOX and FOX Deportes. It’s been a while since I’ve been in the ring but I never stopped working in the gym.
“I’ve said before that I had to go to the drawing board but this time we erased everything and rewrote it. This layoff has really helped me get in great shape and I’m really excited to get in the ring. I’m ready to turn the page to the next chapter of my career and that starts with this fight.
“It’s an honor to be able to work with my dad every day. It’s an incredible blessing for me to have such a loyal team. My father treats me like a man just like he always has. He makes me a better fighter every time out. He knows me like the back of his hand.”
MARCUS BROWNE
“I’m ready to roll. I’m ready let my hands go and get in the ring and rumble Samedi nuit. This is going to be a great night of fights.

“It’s very inspiring to be looking at the place that you’ll be fighting while you’re training. I do my hardest workout on the track right across the street from the Coliseum. It helps me dig deep while I’m suffering.
“This is going to be an interesting matchup. Marcus and I are pretty much opposites in the ring. I’m a righty and he’s a lefty. He’s a fast-starter and I’m a strong finisher. It’s my job to turn it into a battle of wills.
“I’m fully-charged physically and locked and loaded mentally heading into Samedi nuit. This is the caliber of opponent I’ve been looking to face for a while and I’ll be ready when the bell rings.
“This is my 29e time getting into the professional ring so I’m not concerned about the emotions that come with fighting at home. Any kind of energy that I feel, I’m going to use it for fuel in the later rounds when I need it.”
ARTUR PIN
“I want to show that my loss was an accident and that I’m ready to put on a great show for the fans.
“We will see how hard this fight will be. That is up to him, because I will be ready to put it all on the line and get this win. People want to see emotions in the ring and we will see if Kownacki is ready for me.
“I have to take this fight very seriously. I am in the best shape of my career. I can’t take for granted that I’m going to go in there and knock him out immediately.
“I waited a long time for this return. I broke my hand after the Deontay Wilder fight but now I am back and 100 pour cent prêt pour ce combat.

“I feel very prepared and very confident heading into this fight. This is definitely one of the best camps I’ve had. I fight a lot of heavy guys in Joel Diaz’s gym and it helped me get perfectly prepared for this fight.
“I love fighting on television so that I can give fans a good show. I’m always hungry for the win and now being in New York is an added piece of motivation.”

Figueroa, the former world champion who hosted training camp in Indio, CA with his trainer Joel Diaz, is eager to show the world that after an 18 month layoff he is back and ready for action. Le Weslaco, TX native comes to New York undefeated and this will be his first fight at 147 lbs.
Guerrero is looking to quiet the doubters who say this multiple division world champion is a stepping-stone. “The Ghost” and his father/trainer, Ruben Guerrero hosted camp in Gilroy, CA and look to showcase his strength and grit and come away with a victory.
