BROOKLYN (Maj 30, 2015) – Premier Boxning Champions (PBC) på Spikereturned to Brooklyn’s Barclays Center på fredag night with another explosive night of bouts for fight fans. I main event, Amir “Kung” Khan (31-3, 19 Kos) scored a crafty and hard fought unanimous decision over Chris Algieri (20-2, 8 Kos) och Javier Fortuna (28-0-1, 20 Kos) won a crowd-pleasing unanimous decision victory over Bryan Vasquez (34-2, 18 Kos) in the televised opener.

 

Below are comments made by the televised fighters after their performances i kväll:

 

AMIR KHAN

 

“I thought I worked well inside. I’ve never done a lot of work in the pocket like that and I plan to do more of that in the future.

 

“I give Chris a lot of credit. He came forward a lot more than we thought he would and he had a big chin i kväll.

 

“Chris gave it his all i kväll. This is the best Algieri we’ve seen in a long time, and if he’d have fought Manny (Pacquiao) that way he might have won.

 

“Everyone knows I want Floyd (Mayweather) next after all the talk about it, but when you wait and hope for something for this long it can set you back. I don’t want to overlook any other fighters, including Chris.

 

“My first show with PBC has been great. The New York crowd was awesome and really got into it. The promotion was excellent and I’m proud to be a part of this team.”

 

CHRIS ALGIERI

 

“I thought I pressured Khan well and got my touches. He definitely didn’t like it when I got into his body.

 

“I thought I hurt him several times, but Khan’s a cagey fighter and he spins off. I guess the judges liked that i kväll. I would think the cleaner, harder shots would get a little more respect.

 

“I think PBC is fantastic. The focus is on the fighters, not the politics or the promoters. This is helping bring the sport back to boxing’s glory days of primetime events for the fans.

“My style is to box and then move. Fortuna fought a smart fight i kväll. He wouldn’t engage me and fight.

 

“Fortuna used his head and elbows a lot i kväll, but I don’t want to use that as an excuse. I tried telling the referee, but nothing was done.

 

“I worked very hard for three months of training to get to this fight. I hope I won over some fans today because I fight to please them.

 

“Hopefully I get a rematch because this is not the end of my career, and I’d love the chance to take that belt from Fortuna.

DOFTER, SÅSOM(Maj 28, 2015)- Four-Division world champion, “Robert “The Ghost” Warrior (32-3-1, 18 Kos) hosted a media workout yesterday at the CrossFit Ranch to shed light on his upcoming fight with Aron Martinez. The 10-round main-event bout will take place at StubHub Center in Carson, Calif., Juni 6, 2015 and will air live on NBC starting at 3:00 p.m. OCH/12:00 p.m. PT.

 

Warrior, who won the hearts of America with his gut wrenching performance against Keith Thurman in his last fight, is looking forward to another main-event attraction where he can showcase his entertaining fighting style to the fans.

 

“All the hard training is done and now it’s time to zone in,” sade Robert Guerrero. “Everyone should be watching the PBC on NBC 6 junibecause I believe this is going to be a crowd-pleasing fight. Aron Martinez is not coming to lay down. He’s had plenty of time to prepare for this fight and I’m expecting him to come out guns blazing. En sak är säker, I’m going to be throwing some hard shots right from the opening bell. My goal is to bring an entertaining fight to the fans and let my hands go. Fight night can’t come soon enough.”

 

Headlining his second PBC on NBC, Guerrero wants continue fighting on a regular basis. Known for being an all-out action fighter, Guerrero feels he can close out the rest of 2015 med en smäll.

Ennis, who was last seen dropping a 10-round unanimous decision to new WBC Super Middleweight champion Badou Jack, is looking to get back into contention with a big outing over the veteran from Ghana.

Lewiston, Maine (Maj 29, 2015) - New England Fights (NEF), USA: s nummer ett regionalt kamp främjande, kommer att hålla sin artonde bland martial-arts (MMA) händelse, “NEF XVIII: MADE IN AMERICA,” på Lördag, Juni 13, 2015 på Androscoggin Bank Colisee i Lewiston, Maine. Tidigare idag, the promotion announced the addition of a professional light-heavyweight bout to the fight card. Mike “Den Mustasch” Hansen (2-1) är planerad att möta Cody Anderson (1-2) vid en kamp vikt av 205-pounds.

 

A native of Rumford, Maine, Hansen won a state championship in 2004 wrestling for Mountain Valley High School. After graduation, Hansen began training in MMA and made a successful debut in 2005. He would put his MMA career on hold to serve his country in the United States Army as a combat engineer. Tidigare i år, Hansen returned to the sport and founded Berserkers MMA in his hometown of Rumford. His first fight in the cage in nearly a decade saw him triumph over Artie Mullen (0-11) this past February at “NEF XVI.”

 

“I’m pumped to be have an opponent like Cody,” said Hansen of the upcoming fight with Anderson. “He is a real tough guy and this should be a great battle.”

 

Cody Anderson is a member of Team Triumph/Boston Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) in Nashua, New Hampshire. Formerly a top-ranked amateur, Anderson put together a perfect 5-0 record over the course of his amateur career. He turned pro in the fall of 2012, winning his debut over Hector Sanchez (3-12). Anderson’s last appearance in NEF saw him submitted in the final moments of his bout with Jarod “Sista-minuten” Lawton (4-2) vid “NEF VII” två år sedan. Anderson had been winning the bout to that point, turning in a “fight of the night” performance along with his opponent.

 

“I’ve been away too long,” said Anderson. “Even with no fight camp and only two weeks notice, I will put my hands on this guy and put him to sleep.”

BROOKLYN (Maj 28, 2015) – På torsdag natt, Juni 4, Dmitry Salita’s Star of David Promotions will bring it’s Brooklyn Brawl series to LIU Brooklyn Paramount Theater with a terrific night of boxing.
I main event, obesegrat Tjockt Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller (12-0-1, 10 KO: s) will risk his undefeated mark when he takes on Damon McCreary (15-4, 11 KO: s) in a bout scheduled for 8 rundor.
McCreary has been training hard in Detroit as Miller will be his 4th consecutive and 7th overall undefeated opponent.
He has previously been in with current WBC Heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder as well as Jordan Shimmell, Ali Mansour and Charles Martin.
“Min utbildning har varit utmärkt. Jag känner stor. I know what I have going against me,” said McCreary.
In Miller, McCreary will be facing a guy who stands about 6’4″ and checks in around 260 Ibs. McCreary has been preparing for that with regular sparring against huge men.
“I know he is a big guy. I been sparring with guys who stand about 6’8″ and 6’9″. I know Miller is young, hungry and a puncher. His skills are OK but he hasn’t fought at the level I have been at.”
McCreary has been a pro since 1998 and he feels that could be a big factor in his favor.
“My experience is a huge factor. I know up until the last couple years that he has been an MMA fighter. I just hope he doesn’t kick me or put me in a headlock.” quipped McCreary.
Despite being 41 år gammal, McCreary is confident that a win in New York will catapult him into some great opportunities.
“I have a few years left in me. This win will get me a bigger fight. It is great to fight in New York. I have fought in Los Angeles and Chicago but I have to treat this as just another fight.”
Because of the his past opponents, McCreary is giving himself a great shot to pull the upset.
“I am from Detroit. I am a soldier who won’t back down and I am coming to win. By the grace of god, I can pull the upset and further my career.”
I 8-runda co-feature, Dimash Nijazov (7-0-3, 4 KO: s) av Staten Island, NY takes on Ariel Duran (8-7-1, 5 KO: s) av Queens, NY i en Jr. Weltervikt bout.

En kubansk amatör nationella mästare, the 28-year-old Barthelemy har ännu inte smaka nederlag sedan vrida pro i 2009. Född i Kuba men nu kämpar av Las Vegas, he won a super featherweight world title in July of last year by defeating Argenis Mendez in impressive fashion. Most recently he delivered a second round TKO over Angino Perez in March and looks to impress once again when he hits the ring in June.

ST. PETERSBURG, Ryssland (Maj 28, 2015) – Popular M-1 Medieval full-contact knight fighting returns June 6 i Ingusjien, Russia at M-1 Challenge 58: Strid i bergen 4.

 

Six-time world champion Evgeny Gladkov (2-0-0) and two-time CIS medalist and Russian champion Maxim Plaksin (0-1-0) will be dressed in medieval warrior armor, fighting each other using replicas of medieval bladed weapons with a blunt edge

Brasiliansk inkräktare Igor “Chatubinha” Fernandes (18-6-0, 2 KO / TKO, 13 SUB) kommer att slåss mot ryska fiende Murad “Hunter” Abdulaev (12-1, 6 KO / TKO, 2 SUB) in the main event or the vacant M-1 Challenge welterweight title.
