Baltimore, MD (Xaneiro 7, 2016) – Baltimore Boxing Promotions returns to Michael’s Eighth Avenue in Glen Burnie, MD Thursday, Xaneiro 28 for an evening of Olympic-style championship boxing.

Heavyweight knockout artist Brian “Bam Bam” Haneschlager of the Baltimore Boxing Gym meets Dallas Butts for the heavyweight title. Haneschlager, who has a large and vocal fan base, is an action-packed fighter that thrives on entertaining fans.

Baltimore Boxing’s Stefon McCray meets Main Street Gym’s TJ Mottinger in a cruiserweight title matchup. A standout basketball player at Stevenson University, the 6’6 McCray’s natural athletic abilities and length have helped him transition smoothly from the hardwood to the squared circle.

NEF TO OPEN 2016 WITH SPECTACULAR FIGHT CARD

Northeast Junior Welterweight Champion Brandon “O Canón” Baga (10-1) will attempt to make it three wins in a row when he steps in the ring to face undefeated Tollison Lewis (2-0) in a six-round, non-title, super-welterweight contest. Both Berry and Lewis are coming off wins in the boxing ring at “NEF XX” en novembro pasado.

 

The professional portion of the MMA card will be headlined by the long-awaited meeting between Bruce “Pretty Boy” Boyington (12-8) e Jon Lemke (5-3). Dubbed “The Battle for Bangor,” with both men living and training in the Bangor, Maine area, Boyington’s NEF MMA Professional Lightweight Title will be on the line. Number-one contender Lemke will be looking to capture the first championship of his MMA career.

 

The co-main event of the evening on the professional MMA card will see local Lewiston-Auburn favorite Jesse “O Viking” Erickson (6-4) asumindo Devin Powell (4-1) in a lightweight matchup. Powell returns to the NEF cage for the first time since May 2014, while Erickson will be looking for his fourth consecutive win in Lewiston.

 

A total of three title fights will headline the amateur MMA side of the card. Young’s MMA standout Josh Harvey (5-1) defends his lightweight title against Florida’s Andrew “Ling-Ling” Tamayo (8-1). Caleb Farrington (3-0) eRicky Dexter (4-2) will decide the first-ever NEF MMA Amateur Welterweight Champion, mentres Henry Clark (3-1) e Johnny Crafts (3-0) meet to determine the inaugural amateur bantamweight titleholder.

 

Alén, Erin Lamonte (5-0) e Randi Beth Boyington (1-2) are scheduled to face off in a women’s MMA bout. It will be a rematch of a contest won by Lamonte at “NEF XX.” Boyington’s supporters in the audience felt that the referee stopped the bout prematurely as Boyington was about to break out of, or had already broken out of, Lamonte’s armbar submission. After much back and forth among their respective supporters on social media, the rematch is expected to settle the issue once and for all.

Both Newton and Vassell were participants in the four-man, light-heavyweight No. 1 contender tournament at "Bellator MMA: Dinamita.” Now, the pair of 205-pounders will look to re-establish themselves atop one of the deepest and most competitive divisions in Bellator MMA.

Better known as “The Hardcore Kid,” the 31-year-old has been half of some of the most memorable contests in Bellator MMA history, namely, his spinning-backfist finish of “King Mo” and his back-and-forth war with current Bellator MMA Light Heavyweight Champion Liam McGeary.

 

Undoubtedly one of the goals for Vassell in 2016 is finding his way onto the recently announced Bellator MMA debut in London later this year. For this to come to fruition, “The Swarm” surely needs to redeem himself from the fifth-round, rear-naked choke submission defeat he suffered at the hands of his"Bellator 149: Shamrock vs. Gracie " adversario. Irish amateur heavyweight champion Con Sheehan To make pro debut Jan. 19 in L.A.

Cork, Irlanda (Xaneiro 4, 2016) – Six-time Irish National heavyweight champion Con Sheehan will make his long awaited professional debut Xaneiro 19 in a four-round bout, contra un adversario a ser determinado, at Nokia Club in Los Angeles.

“It’s been eye opening, I suppose, because Virgil is showing me the most simple of things, technically, that I’ve never seen before and it’s making a massive difference to me,” Sheehan said about being trained by Hunter. “My power has increased 10-fold with simple adjustments that I have learned from him. It was a bit of a shock because, I thought I’d cracked the technical side of boxing but he’s taken me to a whole new level.”
The 26-year-old Sheehan has the advantage of directly learning from one of the most respected and successful trainers in boxing, Cazador, whose top fighters include Andre Ward (pictured here with Con), Amir Kahn e Andre Berto.
Sheehan is the first Irishman that Hunter has ever trained. “Every coach has his own style and mine is old school from Texas,” Hunter explained. “Mine is slip ‘n slide and my fighters need good reflexes and good legs. Cornelius (Con) isn’t a dancer, but he moves the right way, and I like that a lot. I liked what I saw from the first time we met. He keeps himself in good shape and has a good amateur pedigree. I teach a pro style, even to amateurs, and some like Cornelius are better as pro fighters.
“Cornelius is a strong kid. He’s made mistakes, but earlier in his life, and that’s a good thing. There’s always a transition period and it’ll take him a few years. He’s already proven his dedication by being here. If he keeps on track, fighting and training in the United States, he’ll get there in two-three years. The heavyweight division is changing. This is like the time (Tim)Witherspoon, (Greg) Páxina, (Franco) Bruno and a few others would win the world title and then lose it right back, ata (Micrófono) Tyson came along and cleaned up the division. I’m particularly happy with his progress the last six weeks; Cornelius is focused on doing it, instead of just doing it.”
Sheehan is managed by Gary Hyde (Nowhere2Hyde Management), who guided the career of world super bantamweight champion Guillermo Rogondeaux, as well as two-time world middleweight title challengerHassan N'Dam N'Jikam.
“Con Sheehan has stood out to me as a fighter with incredible boxing skills who, I knew, would benefit greatly with Virgil Hunter as his trainer,” Hyde added. “After two intensive training camps, we are all satisfied that Con has what it takes to be a major force in the heavyweight division.”
