The fighters worked out with their trainers at City of Angels Boxing gym in Los Angeles. Tu je to, čo sa účastníci museli hovoriť Streda:
DANNY GARCIA
This is another fight that is going to make me a bigger star. Ako je napríklad Sobota noc, I will be at my best.
“Mal som 31 profesionálny boja. A lot of them have been big fights. This is another fight to me. There’s nothing you can say that gets to me.
I feel like I represent all the Latino people. Not just Puerto Rican-Americans or Mexican-Americans. I’m excited to go out there and show everybody a great fight.
I’m not the kind of person that talks a lot. I like to speak with my left hand and my right hand.
“Koniec koncov, all the fans want to see is good fights and they’ll appreciate that.
I always go for the knockout, but we’re ready for a war.
“Nechcem dať žiadny tlak na seba. I just go in there and take it one fight at a time. I’m not thinking about my record when I step in the ring, I just want to get the job done round-by-round.
ANGEL GARCIA, Dannyho otec & Tréner
We left 140-pound as the champ and now we’re looking to do the same at 147. When you come to fight Danny Garcia for a title, you better come 100 percent ready.
We know Guerrero is going to be ready and we know what he brings to the table. We have an answer for everything he’s got.
Január 23, it’s going to be for all Latinos in L.A. and all of America. Danny is going to be the welterweight world champion.
ROBERT GUERRERO
Having the world title on the line just adds fuel to the fire. We’ll find out Sobota night how it all plays out.
We’ve been training hard. We derailed off the tracks a bit, but we went back to square one in camp, back to what got me here in the first place. We put it back together.
Going up against an undefeated fighter adds motivation to my drive. I want to defeat the undefeated guy, especially with this opportunity. I want to raise everybody’s eyebrows.
We’re not going to let the fans down. If the opponent doesn’t come to fight, Budem. That’s just the way I am. Whenever somebody watches me it’s always exciting.
RUBEN GUERRERO, Robert’s Father & Tréner
We’re going to show the world. We’re warriors. We come to fight. The fans are going to love this fight.
It all depends on if Danny comes to fight. I’ll give him credit if he does. They’re going to find out where Robert is at after this fight.
Robert is a full-fledged welterweight. We’re coming in light and ready to go.
I don’t get heated. I’ve been there before. I just say it as it is. Whatever comes out of my mouth comes out. They better be ready, because we’re ready. Angel Garcia better be ready to throw in that towel, because Danny is going to take a beating.
SAMMY Vasquez
My time in the military helped turn me into a man. I joined at a young age and it’s made me the person I am today. Boxing in front of thousands of people is an honor and I’m going to enjoy it.
We’re here to take care of business come Sobota noc. Hopefully I can keep fighting people above me in the rankings. This is a great stepping-stone for me. Eventually we want one of these guys in the main event.
Boxing died out in Pittsburgh a little bit until Paul Spadafora brought it back a little bit. I’m trying to be the next one. I’m a fun guy to follow for a lot of reasons and I just want to make myself known.
I made it through two tours all in one piece and there are a lot of people who weren’t as lucky. To be able to give anything back is truly special.
We have to shine v sobotu noc. This is our chance to show that we belong. Being able to stop Aron Martinez would put me on a bigger stage.
I don’t know where I’ll be at on the welterweight scale if I get this win. But I’d love to fight either Danny Garcia or Robert Guerrero. Time will tell. I intend to fight for a world title by the end of the year.
ARON MARTINEZ
Every fight gets harder and harder. We’ve had a great training camp and we’re ready to brawl. Expect a good fight v sobotu night and expect some fireworks.
I thought I won the fight with, Robert Guerrero but it’s boxing. You have to move on and use it as motivation the next time you’re out there.
This is my backyard. I started my career here and it’s a great opportunity for people to get to see me. I want to put on a great show.
Vasquez is like any other fighter. Only thing special is that he’s undefeated. He doesn’t want to lose that but nothing worries me about him. This will be tougher than my last two fights, but we’re ready.
I think we’re going to steal the show. On je neporaziteľný, a southpaw and he definitely doesn’t want to lose. It’s my hometown though, so I’m going to put up a good fight and make it a war.
Dominica Breazeale
It’s been a great training camp. Môj tréner, Manny Robles, has done a great job. He’s worked on helping me establish my jab and got me ready for a very tough fight.
I talked to Gerald Washington myself and he said he let it slip away in his fight against Mansour. The first four rounds he was really controlling the range. It’s definitely something that I’ve been studying.
“V ťažkej váhe divízie, everyone can throw punches. Anyone who believes I’m not tough enough will be proven wrong Sobota. Mansour is a really experienced guy and I’d like to knock him out and put on an exhibition.
I’ve got the age on him and I’ve got some height and weight. I have a great pedigree and he has the pro experience. He’s been in a lot more rounds than I have but I’ve been in a lot of tough fights.
My heart is definitely set on Charles Martin after this fight. After pulling out of the fight and everything that happened there, that’s on my mind after this fight.
Mansour is a big, aggressive guy so we’re ready for anything he can bring. My athletic background will help me as will my mind because it’s all about making adjustment in the ring.
You’re not going to see me hanging out on the ropes because I’m going to move around the ring. My skills will be the difference.
“Je to sen, že bojuje v Staples Center. I’m so close to family and friends. It’s going to be a livelier fight week than I’ve been in before.
I always try to turn it up around the third round. I never look for the knockout, but I’ll turn it up and try to hurt him.
AMIR MANSOUR
I let my trainers watch the opponent, they give me the game plan and I take it from there.
“Neexistuje žiadny tlak. I know how to transform everything that we do in the gym into the ring and block out all the pressure.
My team knows a lot about Dominic. My team has helped me get prepared for what I need to do to get this victory.
I can’t sit here and say I’m not nervous, everyone is nervous before fight day. You have to embrace that and overcome that. This is my dream, this is where I want to be and this is my moment.

LOS ANGELES (Január 19, 2016) In front of a packed house at Club Nokia at L.A. LIVE v utorok night in downtown Los Angeles, Premier Boxing Champions kicked off PBC On FOX Fight Week In Los Angeles with an exciting fight card on TOE k päte UTOROK na FS1 a Champions Boxerské na FOX Deportes.
Headlining the card, neporazený welterweight Jamal James of Burnsville, Minnesota (19-0, 9 KO), won a 10-round unanimous decision over local favorite Javier Molina, (17-2, 8 KO). Scores (99-91, 98-92 a 97-93) were surprisingly wide as most ringside observers thought it was a much closer fight.
Battling from the opening bell, James and Molina each had success with swift jabs and power shots throughout the first half of the fight. The intensity continued in the second half with both fighters sensing the bout was hanging in the balance of each stanza.
Said James, “I thought when he first came out in the first couple of rounds, it was pretty close. He was making it a tough fight. Vzhľadom k tomu, boj pokračoval, I got him to fight my fight. I kept him on the outside.
I stuck to my game plan. I felt like I should have been busier. He had some tricky movement with his feet. The range was tough. I had a hard time finding my range, but once I found it, everything fell into place.
I believe I did gain a lot of fans dnes večer and I can’t wait to get back in the ring.
Stated Molina, “Myslel som, že to bol blízky boj. Mal som herný plán, but I should have stayed inside more. He got wild and I stayed there and let him go out I started locking up. He would throw some punches that I shouldn’t have let him. I didn’t really do what I had to do.
I didn’t feel like the scorecards were fair. One judge only gave me one round. No way that was right. Either way I think I fought a good fight.
I felt like I had a lot of people behind me. I am bummed out and I feel like I let them down. I didn’t pull it off. I just hope I gave them an exciting fight.
Middleweight vyhliadka Caleb Plant of Nashville, Tenn. (12-0, 9 KO) stayed undefeated with an entertaining sixth-round stoppage of Spain’s Adatar Rodriguez (11-5-2, 7 KO).
Plant showed excellent technique and defense keeping Rodriguez off-balance with an array of power shots. Battering the valiant Rodriguez who suffered two facial cuts, Plant earned the stoppage as the one-sided bout was stopped at 2:37 of the sixth round.
My performance was great. We are always looking to get better. I stayed patient,” Said Plant. “I’ve fought on five or six PBC cards. It’s a blessing.
I want to dedicate this to my daughter Leah in heaven. She passed last year on Január 29. The anniversary is 10 days away and she gives me a lot of motivation.
I want to get back in the gym and get back as soon as I can. I’m not interested in taking time off. I’m a professional and this is what I do day in and day out.
In a scheduled six round super middleweight clash, knockout umelec Malcolm McAllister(7-0, 7 KO) who represented nearby Long Beach knocked out Tyrone Selders of Baton Rouge, Los Angeles (9-7-1, 6 KO) in the third stanza. Dropped in the first round, Cobb also suffered a cut over his right yet as McAllister set a relentless pace.
Continuing to batter Selders in the next two rounds, McAllister was awarded the victory as referee Zachary Young stopped the bout at the 2:39 mark of the third round.
Stated McAllister, “I am always going to do what I have to do. I’m happy I beat a tough guy. Som bojovník. Prišiel som do boja. I don’t care where it is, we come to fight. It’s a great opportunity and being on TV is a bonus.
This is my backyard. There were more people here supporting me and cheering me on than I expected. That was a great feeling.
Opening the telecast, undefeated super middleweight prospect David Benavidez Phoenix (12-0, 11 KO) stopped Burlington, VT’s Kevin Cobb, (10-2, 4 KO) in the second round of their scheduled eight-round battle. Using heavy handed left hooks to the body, Benavidez controlled the action from the opening bell.
Staggering Cobb with an overhand right in the middle of the second round, Benavidez followed up with a full arsenal of power shots causing referee Raul Caiz Jr. to stop the bout at the time of 1:08.
About the victory, Benavidez saidI feel great we had a great training camp. If you saw my fight, I looked great as well. Phoenix has always had a lot of great talent, but not that many guys come out of Phoenix and I am proud of making a name for myself.
I knew I was going to get my opponent out that fast. I saw him fight. He doesn’t have that many skills. He was running a lot in the first round and that’s why I didn’t get him out there sooner. As soon as I got my hands on himit was goodnight.
Four of the fighters featured on túto sobotu je Premier Boxing Champions on FOX event were also on hand enjoying the fights to kick off their fight week.
Danny Garcia
There are some great fights dnes večer. I am happy my fighter Tommy Velasquez won by fourth round knockout. I am happy to be here.
I am proud of my fighter, he had an excellent performance and got the guy out of there.
This is a great week to start off my fight week, with a team win. The momentum is building and I can’t wait for Sobota noc.”
Sammy Vasquez
There are some great fights here and tough competitors. It makes me more excited for Saturday’s fights.
This is where you need to showcase your skills. On TV is where you need to be dominant, you need to be 100 percent on your A game. If you’re not, it gives someone else an opportunity to take your spot.
I don’t get to watch fights as a fan as much as I would like so this is a real treat for me.
Dominic Breazeale
This is a great way to kick off fight week. FS1 is here in town in downtown LA.
I am excited about the workout zajtra, press conference and the weigh-in. All of the activities coming up.
These fights have been great so far. Guys going punch for punch, blow for blow, cut for cut.
Amir Mansour
My last fighter was Gerald Washington and he was taller than Breazeale. So you have to make adjustments for taller guys, but I’ve been fighting taller guys. you will see some definite changes in my game plan.
I thought I won my last fight. I want to take the judges out of the equation.
It’s sad that you’re putting your all into something. You’re making sacrifices and then you get in a situation that you have to knock the guy out.
I’m surprised Breazeale took this fight. I’ve faced better competition.
I’m really happy to be here and cheer on these up and coming fighters and start fight week watching some great fights.

‘Detroit BrawlBegins Sobota, Február 6, at the Masonic Temple
I strongly feel that Detroit has a lot of potential to become a hub for pro boxing. Not only with its own talented fighters, but also for boxers from around the country and around the globe. With consistency, competitive fights and talented boxers there’s a tremendous amount of potential for world-class boxing in the city of Detroit. Dmitriy Salita
World-class boxer turned promoter Dmitriy Salita, of Salita Promotions, says the choice to base his new series of live fights in Detroit was an easy one to make. A city and state that has produced such all-time greats as Floyd Mayweather, Tommy Hearns and Joe Louis to name a few, as well as legendary trainers such Emanuel Steward and Eddie Futch is, according to Salita, the perfect place to launch a succession of top-notch boxing shows.
Appropriately entitled theDetroit Brawl,” the series will kick off at the iconic Masonic Temple in Downtown Detroit on Sobota, Február 6 na 6:30 popoludní. Featured that night will be a diverse array of up-and-coming prospects and established contenders from Michigan and around the world including Detroit’s James Gordon Smith (8-0, 5 KO), Ed Williams (10-1-1, 4 KO), James Ballard (5-0, 2 KO), and Antonio Wade (1-0, 1 KO), as well as former world title challenger and currently world-ranked cruiserweight Junior Wright of Chicago (14-1-1, 11 KO), undefeated Dominican Eudy Bernardo (20-0, 14 KO), Brooklyn’s Dimash Niyazov (8-0-3, 4 KO) and the professional debut of Turkmenistan’s former Asian Games Amateur Champion, Serdar Hudayberdiyev.
Vstupenky na “Detroit Brawl” sú ceny na $28, $38, $48, $63, $93, a $123 a are available at all Ticketmaster outlets, ticketmaster.com, na telefónnom čísle 800-745-3000, or by visiting the Masonic Temple box office. For event information visit themasonic.com a SalitaPromotions.com.
Detroit is America’s great comeback city and boxing fans love a comeback,” Said Word, who once challenged for a world title and currently sports a 35-2-1, 18 KOs record as a fighter. “This city has some of the best homegrown boxers in the country and the world and we plan to highlight those talents throughout this series. I thought it was a natural to run consistent high-class show here. Detroit and the State of Michigan, as a whole, have a rich boxing culture: The boxing fans here will respond positively. And for the local up-and-comers, they will have a place close to home to build a fan base.
Though he is Ukraine-born and Brooklyn-raised, Salita has a long history with the area, having trained here since early in his fighting career.
I’ve been coming to Detroit for six years, to train at the Kronk Gym with Emanuel Steward and Sugar Hill, his nephew,” explained Salita. “I got a chance firsthand to see the Detroit boxing culture and witness its tremendous talent!”
33-year-old Salita started boxing at age 13 at Starret City Boxing Club in Brooklyn, New York, and went on to become a highly decorated amateur boxer before his professional career. “At the time I started boxing, the Starrett City Boxing Club was run by Jimmy O’Pharrow. It was one of the best gyms in New York City. It produced some of the best fighters in the world today. We all came up together and had ‘fights of the yearsparring sessions almost every night. The competitive nature of those sparring sessions are what made me so successful in boxing, and when I came here to the Kronk gym I witnessed that same atmosphere.
Still an active fighter, after losing his challenge to world champion Amir Khan in 2009, Salita says he looked around at his options and decided that with his strong fan base, becoming a promoter was a natural progression. Salita says he’s proud of diversity and talent level he’s been able to provide for the inaugural show of the series.
I like that this show has several of Detroit’s up-and-coming stars and boxers from different places around the world as well. Junior Wright is world-ranked and one of the best cruiserweights in the world. He’s looking to get back to another world title shot. Eudy Bernardo, an undefeated lightweight prospect from the Dominican Republic, is looking to rise to the top of the division. And the Detroit fighters are some of the best including James Ballard, Eddie Williams and James Gordon Smith, a former national champion in the amateurs. Antonio Wade is another hot prospect from the Detroit area. We’ve also got Asian games gold medalist Serdar Hudayberdiyev making his pro debut. He’s already the greatest fighter his country has ever produced. People are flying out from Turkmenistan to see the fight. I’m very excited about this show and for the future of boxing in this great city!”
