The road to this fight has been a long one for Santiago. The 25-year-old grew up in Phoenix, Arizona and was frequently in and out of trouble as a youth, eventually leading to his interest in boxing.
“Before I got into boxing, I got into street fights and was getting kicked out of school and all that,” said Santiago. “I was always the troublemaker. My parents wanted to keep me on the right path. I had friends who were training in a boxing gym. I wanted to join them but my parents wouldn’t let me.
“I kept getting into trouble and by the time I was 14, my brother and sister just started taking me to the gym without telling my parents. They were really mad at first, but eventually they saw how good it was for me and I just fell in love with the sport.”
Pro ochsangiz 2009, Santiago managed his own career and eventually decided to move to Las Vegas four years ago. He made signing with Mayweather Promotions one of his goals, a mark he achieved last year before his September fight.
“One of my goals when I moved to Las Vegas was to sign with Mayweather Promotions, and now I’m the first Mexican fighter from Mayweather Promotions to headline a PBC show,” said Santiago. “I felt like it was time to take control of my career and take the next step and get the bigger and better fights. I wanted to be taken care of.”
Before his last fight, Santiago began working with respected trainer Ismael Salas and the two have been preparing a game plan for the tough Ruiz.
“Training with Ismael has been going really well and we’re getting great sparring,” said Santiago. “We’re working on little things we need to fix, like sitting down on punches and other things. Ismael isn’t changing anything, but he’s just polishing everything and helping me out.
“We’ve seen video of our opponent so we know what we need to do and we’ve worked on it already. Ismael is a really smart trainer and I’m looking forward to improving with him each time out.”
Hozir, Santiago is ready to step into the ring and show the skills he has worked so hard to hone. With a win, Santiago has big goals for this year and beyond.
“I’m very motivated and excited to be the main event,” said Santiago. “It’s going to be an exciting fight and we’re focused on making everything go well on Fevral 16. I want a world title shot this year. I’m ranked by everybody, so hopefully with this fight we will get a step closer.”

Bugun, Bellator MMA is proud to announce that Chandler will be continuing to compete for the promotion for the foreseeable future, with the news that the former 155-pound champion has signed an exclusive multi-year, multi-fight extension to remain with the Scott Coker-led promotion.

 

“Michael Chandler is synonymous with our brand and doubles as an incredibly talented and exciting mixed martial artist,” said Bellator President Scott cho'kadi. “Not every fighter or free agent aligns with our future plans, but when looking at Chandler’s resume, inking him to a long-term extension was a no-brainer. Teofista Boxing Series 18 will be headlined by a C.P.B.C 154-pound title clash between big punching Janks Trotter (9-2-1, 9 KOS) of Alberta taking on road warrior Stuart McLellan (12-2-3, 3 KOS) of British Columbia. Rynn is a Mexican product now based in Alberta and has a long list of accomplishments as a Canadian amateur and has since been making a lot of noise since turning professional in 2014. He will be taking on Saskatchewan’s Robert Nelson in a super featherweight bout.
Another former Canadian amateur standout slated to see action is rising Alberta middleweight Devin Reti (2-0, 1 KO). A boxer-puncher with a long and accomplished pedigree, Reti will be taking on Kelowna’s Dia Grant.
Rounding out the card is a tentative barn-burner between local brawlers Mike Smallwood and Aaron Gallant in a bout that is sure to have it’s share of fireworks.
The exciting show marks Teofista Boxing’s 2016 debut in what is shaping up to be a banner year for Western Canadian promotional outfit. With the acquisition of both Alejandro Torres Rynn and Devin Reti as official members of Team Teofista, the brand looks to solidify itself as one of the premier promoters in western Canada. TRASH TALK BEGINS AROUND FEATHERWEIGHT BOUT AT NEF 22

Crafts is a decorated Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) brown belt out of Team New England United (NEW). He also cross-trains with Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (CMBJJ) Lewiston.

 

“I’m excited to step up to 145 to fight Taylor,” said Crafts of the upcoming matchup with Costantino. “I will be very strong at that weight seeing as I cut pretty extensively to make 135. It will allow me to focus on different areas this camp instead of putting a lot of my energy into cutting weight.”

 

Costantino is himself coming off a big win last Saturday at “NEF 21.” It took him a mere 25-seconds to down Frank Johanson (0-1), a training partner of Crafts at CMBJJ, birinchi turda. Costantino is clear that he is coming to fight on Aprel 23, and he does not plan on engaging in a grappling contest with Crafts.

 

“Respect to him for coming up in weight,” said Costantino of Crafts. “He’s a glorified pajama warrior that has never been punched in the face with any type of authority. He will clinch quickly and look for the takedown. He’ll realize real quick that he has never fought or trained with anybody like me.”

 

Crafts and Costantino are not strangers to one another. Several years ago, the two met in a jiu-jitsu tournament with Crafts coming out on top.

 

“Taylor and I have competed before in a sport jiu-jitsu tournament,” recalled Crafts. “Taylor says I am a glorified pajama warrior who has never been punched in the face, but if I recall correctly, I submitted him without my ‘pajamas’ no-gi in that tournament pretty quickly. I train with a lot of very talented and tough fighters daily who punch me in the face very hard. People say the same thing about me not getting punched – yaxshi, I have had four fights and they just haven’t had the chance to. Anyone who has trained with high-level fighters will tell you that gi jiu-jitsu only makes you more of a technical fighter. If he doesn’t believe that, that is fine – he will feel it on April 23rd.”

 

“Johnny did submit me when I first moved to Maine,” Costantino admitted. “Legit submission, and his pure grappling is definitely high level. My grappling is MMA based, not slow jitsu. It’s grimy, grueling and punishing. Pure grappling, I would worry about his game. But it’s a fight, sport jiu-jitsu means next to nothing to me.

 

“I wish I could say people will get to see my whole game, but I can’t guarantee that. Johnny will feel my power and look to go to his comfort zone. I will break him, you will see quit in his eyes.”

Unbeaten at just 25-years-old, Heraldez hopes to pick up in 2016 where he left off after a very successful 2015. The Las Vegasnative picked up three victories in his hometown last year as he bested Tavorus Teague, Eric Bossler and most recently Joaquin Chavez in September. He will be opposed by the 25-year-old Mate out of Budapest, Hungary who picked up six victories in 2015.
Born in Memphis but fighting out of Las Vegas, Miller has shown excellent boxing skills as he remained unbeaten and fought his first six-round bouts in 2015. The 22-year-old faces a 24-year-old Chinea who fights out of Lancaster, Pensilvaniya. Chinea most recently defeated Christian Steele in November 2015.
Fighting out of Van Nuys, Kaliforniya, Lee will be making his first pro start in Las Vegas when he enters the ring on Fevral 16. The 23-year-old most recently was victorious by way of knockout in September 2015 over Shaun Lee Henson. He will take on the 29-year-old Guatemalan Rivas who fights out of Louisiana.

Boxing Manager and 2016 Forbes “30 Under 30” Honoree Adrian Clark Offers Manifesto to Help Fighters Clarify Roles

A Revolution in Boxer-Manager Relationships
Dallas, Texas, Fevral 11, 2015 – In an unprecedented move, boxing manager and owner of AC Sports Management, Adrian Clark, has issued a challenge to professional boxers all over the world in the form of a free legal document: The Boxer-Manager Agreement now allows professional fighters to contract the services of their managers.

 

 

Odatda, Boks bo'yicha, the manager has the boxer under contract for a minimum of three years. The Boxer-Manager Agreement clarifies the role and duties of the manager, giving both parties the opportunity to evaluate one another fairly and to ensure the boxer is in the executive position.

 

“I want guys to develop a mindset of a CEO,” Clark said, “because that’s what they are. They must understand what it is to be in a position of power and able to call shots and make tough executive decisions in their careers.”

 

Clark’s main concern is that many boxers may be working as if they are the subordinate, unlike other executives. “Name me one CEO that is under contract to his spokesperson, or to anyone he is paying” Clark said.

 

Clark, currently in his sixth year of boxing management, has been selected as one of Forbes’ 30 Under 30 (Sport) uchun 2016. He has just released his first book, nomli “men: A Guide for Young Entrepreneurs,” available from Amazon.

 

“As a business owner, I do what makes sense in regards to business, Clark said. “I have been in the boxing business long enough to see that the common boxer-manager arrangement does not make sense. I’d like to think this document is a game-changer in the sport of boxing for the athletes. It is now up to the athletes to exercise this agreement and be in more control of their careers and who is representing them.”

 

The Boxer-Manager Agreement is available for download on Clark’s website (www.ACsportsm.com/manifesto.html), bepul. Clark has recorded a video there encouraging fighters to download the document. He also urges them to further educate themselves on the business they are in.

 

A graduate of Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, Clark currently manages seven clients, including former world title challenger Jerry Belmontes, former IBO World champion Will Tomlinson, and James de la Rosa, who has a Qadam tashlamoq 12 showdown with David Lemieux in Montreal, Quebec. At age 25, Clark was certified by the National Basketball Players Association as a “Player Agent” (Sports Agent). Clark founded AC Sports Management, MChJ, ichida 2012.

Amanda Serrano Sends an Ultimatum to All World Champions in her Division

The ambitious Puerto Rican lefty wants to become the undisputed world champion in the featherweight division, and has a message to the current title holders.
“Hoziroq, I’m only focused on Olivia, but at the same time I’m very confident about bringing that belt to Brooklyn and Puerto Rico on Fevral 17,” said Amanda Serrano, who is promoted by DiBella Entertainment.
“Once I get that beatiful belt, we will be looking to unify. There is Jennifer Han, who is the IBF world champion, Soledad Matthysse is the WBC and WBA champion, and she is fighting Jelena Mrdjenovich. I want the winner!”
“Unifying all four featherweight titles is the only thing we care about. If we fail to make that happen, I will go down to 122 to fight for another world title, and become a four division legitimate world champion just like Miguel Cotto”.
