Tony Jeter explains Dusty Harrison situation

The fight was to take place on Maj 13 w Waszyngtonie, DC which is where Harrison is billed from and not far from Jeter’s Columbia, Maryland residence.
It’s safe to say, the fight would have been a big local attraction.
“I received a contract and signed it immediately. That was on March 10th,” Said Jeter.
“As everyone knows, I am a promoter and had already announced, and then had to cancel my show that was to be on Maj 14 in Hanover, Pensylwania. Następnie ten days later, I get the call that they were going in a different direction and the fight was off.”
Jeter does not lay blame on Harrison himself, but people in his inner-circle that may have put the kibosh on the fight.
“I believe it is the people around him who did not want this fight. His promotional team signed off on the fight, but it is those people who get in his ear on a daily basis are scared that Dusty could lose to me and their gravy train will end I guess,” continued Jeter.
Jeter knows the fight would be a tough fight, but it is a winnable fight and just as important, would be a terrific night for D.C. area boxing fans.
“This fight would be a great event for the D.C/Maryland area. It is a shame because they want to fight smaller guys. Blown up lightweight’s and junior welterweights. He has been fighting in the 150’s. Jestem 40 years-old and he is a 21 year-old undefeated kid who is talented. He has all the advantages. From what I was told, a member of his team hired an attorney and contacted his promotional company to stop this fight. I do not know what they are scared of. When will they cut the umbilical chord and let this kid fight someone.”

Martin vs. Joshua is the third of four heavyweight title bouts in five months Showtime (see details below). The scheduled 12-round matchup is the toughest test to date for both Martin (23-0-1, 21 KO) and Joshua (15-0, 15 KO), two bombers who boast a combined 94 percent knockout ratio.

Selby (22-1, 8 KO) vs. Łowca (21-3, 11 KO) is the second of five scheduled featherweight title bouts in 2016 (details below), a lineup showcasing many of the world’s best 126-pounders aiming to unifying one of boxing’s deepest divisions.

“He’s got a belt I want, and that’s all I know about him,” Hunter said. “My team knows more about him than I do. It’s their job to come up with a game plan. My job is train and get ready to perform my best. I can adjust to anything in the ring. I’m just here at the gym working my butt off to get the job done. I’m going to be more focused than I ever have been for this fight.”

The 6-foot-5 Martin won the IBF championship on Jan. 16 kiedy Vyacheslav Glazkov suffered a knee injury in the third round of their vacant world title fight. One of boxing’s most promising prospects, Joshua is coming off consecutive victories over previously undefeated opponents. A veteran of more than twenty professional fights, Evincii Dixon has been one of the northeast’s most active boxers since his debut in the summer of 2013. Dixon, who calls Lancaster, Pennsylvania his home, often fights multiple times in a given month in places as far away as Texas, California and, ostatnio, Ohio. He made the 500-mile trek to Lewiston, Maine last month, picking up a win in the NEF ring against Antonio Chaves Fernandez (7-26-3). Dixon will be looking to get back in the win column at “NEF 22” after a loss last weekend.
